Mac Mutter is a hottie. Like set-me-on-fire-and-melt-me-into-a-puddle hot. He also just might be the most possessive, jealous, and growly man I’ve ever met.

→ He acts like a wild beast caught in a raging storm.
→ He’s melodramatic and judgmental.
→ He’s fearless and foolhardy.
→ He rushes head first into the unknown without the slightest consideration for those he might trample along the way.
→ He’s a daredevil who knows no bounds.

But the first night I met him he was fun, adventurous, sweet, and even a little romantic.

And I want him. God help me, I do.

I shouldn’t be attracted to him. I shouldn’t be making excuses to get just a little closer to him. And I shouldn’t try so hard to get to know him better.

One minute he acts like he owns me, and the next he acts like he hates me. He’s flip-flopped on me so many times, I’ve got whiplash.

And it’s all because of one ittle-bitty lie from me. Okay, maybe it was three lies. They weren’t even really lies. More like omissions of facts.

So what if I didn’t tell him I’m a racecar driver? Does it really matter that I also didn’t tell him I entered the same stock car race as him? Or that I applied for a job as a mechanic at the garage he co-owns with his brothers?

I didn’t think I’d actually win the race. And I really didn’t think I’d get the job.

But both of those things happened. And he’s furious.

Unfortunately, it gets worse. I also might have caught the eye of his mortal enemy. It’s not like I can stop men from flirting with me. But I probably shouldn’t have encouraged it.

But I got Mac’s attention. All I have to do now is keep it.

Author’s Note: This is Mac and Sophia’s story. An enemies-to-lovers, rivals, hate-to-love, grumpy-sunshine, small-town romance between a feisty, strong-will heroine on a mission who gives as good as she gets, and a hot, possessive racecar driver who uses adventure and his growly attitude to hide from love.

I really wanted to like this book, I truly did. I was hoping for a cute, fun rom-com and at times it was. Mac and Sophia's meet-cute was super cute and had good banter. Unfortunately, that's the last cute, fun scene in the book. This is the first time while reading a romance that I wanted the couple to break up in the end. Sophia deserved so much better. I was yelling at Sophia to leave Mac the entire last quarter of the book.

Sophia is a great character, she's a mechanic and racecar driver and determined to make it in a male-dominated field. No problems with Sophia, other than she keeps taking Mac back. Mac on the other hand...hoo-boy. One of the book's trigger warning is abandonment issues and they're not messing around. Mac has abandonment issues in spades. Which of course keeps making him sabotage his relationship with Sophia. Then on top of that he's super possessive (which I normally enjoy in a romance book, but here not so much). So basically any time Sophia talks to another man Mac gets super jealous and then it spirals into him thinking she's going to leave him and then he storms off in a huff. This repeats ad nauseam throughout the book.

The side characters were good though. Grams is a lovable nosy grandma and the brothers were fun. I'm sure each of them will be getting their own book soon. I would be curious if they're all suffering from extreme abandonment issues like Mac is. I liked Clara, who befriends Sophia early on and I'm guessing she'll be in a friends to lovers book with Mac's brother Ash. Well I liked her right up until she told Sophia to apologize to Mac for it looking like she was flirting with another man (she was trying to get away from him in reality, but hey, it's still Sophia's fault, right?). After that I was over Clara.

This was book one in a new series by Aria Bliss and as I mentioned it looks like there will be 6 more books coming, one for each brother. Hopefully the rest of the series will be better.

Edited to add: the author really did not like my review on Goodreads, which I understand. However, calling me out on Goodreads is super unprofessional and uncalled for. I won't be reading anything from this author ever again and other reviewers be aware that the author will take your review personally.

Thanks to BookSirens for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

    Hey awesome readers!

Just a few notes about Truck you (and the entire Mutter Brothers series). This IS NOT A ROM COM. If you're looking for a light hearted fun, ROM COM then this book is not for you. I deal with some very real (and very personal) life experiences in this series. The series comes with trigger warnings at the start. Please read through those before you start, and if any of them bother you, please move on. Nothing kills an author's spirit more than negative review from a reader who was looking for something different than what they got. I have tried very hard to make sure this book is represented clearly, and I thought I had done that well.

I don't expect everyone to love everything I write, that's part of this business, but I at least want you to know what you're getting before you start.

I do promise to still deliver on the same big feels, humor, and HEA that you've come to expect!

    Love, Aria

I absolutely fell in love with this book!! I don’t really read about racing cars type of books but I’m so happy I did! Made me feel like I was in the book with Mac and Sophie. It has a great HEA. Can’t wait to read the next book!

This is a Hate to Love Steamy Romance, and this is the first book in the Mutter Brothers series. I really loved getting to know all the characters in this book, and I have fallen in love with all the characters. In this book we follow Mac Mutter who is a race car driver trying to get over a bad race car crash, and Sophia who is a female race car driver that her parents do not support her. The hate to love part of this book was done really well, and I love the connection that builds up between the two main characters. This book does get steamy hot at times, and I would say it is more steamy than the other books I have read from this author. Great read and I will keep reading this series. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Misadventure Press) or author (Jodie Bailey) via Booksirens, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

Mac Mutter is just the right amounts of growly possessive and playful. Sophia and Mac are such a well matched pair, and the small town vibe takes me back to growing up in small town Arkansas! Can't wait for the rest of this series!

The best kind of steamy romance you could ever wish for.

Mac the youngest of the 7 Mutter brothers. He’s a race car driver and mechanic. His Mother left his life over 20 years ago, causing his emotional battle to love and trust any woman.

Sofia leaves NYC, to pursue her dreams of racing and building cars. She’s beautiful, strong, feisty and knows what she wants.

Small town feels, growly broody brothers, secrets, lies and the most amazing hometown atmosphere. You’ll wish you could climb in and join the fun and adventure as you drool over these brothers.

Oh Aria Bliss, I want to shrink up and crawl inside your mind to live in your stories forever. I always get so emotionally wrapped up in your books. They give me so much joy and keep me up all night wanting more and more.

  • Rachel

I saw that a friend of mine was reading this book so I thought I'd check it out, even though our tastes in Romance books DRASTICALLY DIFFER.

But not being a stranger to romance titles, I always make sure to read the trigger warnings and nothing seemed that out of the ordinary. Not a Rom Com is more my style.

Long story short, this book is fine. If you want a quick read about a grumpy alpha with a tragic backstory and a female main character that deserves better, this is your read. I hope for more redeeming moments with Mac but being hot and angry just seems to be his personality.

This book isn't for everybody but you never know until you read it yourself.

Now this is a book that start with a lovely beginning! The hero having many hot brothers and when he meets the heroine for the first time it’s so very sweet of him cause he say many great words about her 🥺🙏🏼❤️❤️
LIKE IT START WITH THEM ALREADY GONNA BE A COUPLE. IT START WITH A SAFE ONE!!!! NOT THEM HATE EACH OTHER OR BE WITH ANYONE ELSE 🤩🤭

Bare with me cause this review is kinda long and also I’m very ecstatic to share my thoughts about the couple🤣🤣🤣

    ‼️‼️‼️SPOILER ALLERT!!!!!!

    ‼️‼️‼️SPOILER ALLERT!!!!!!

BUT THERE’S A LITTLE FLAW AND KIND OF LIKE A REDFLAG IN THIS BOOK. THE HERO CHARACTER. THE HERO IS WHAT I LIKE, OTT POSSESSIVE PROTECTIVE ALL THAT BUT…. HE IS TOO CHILDISH AND PUSH THE HEROINE AWAY TOO MANY TIMES FOR CHILDISH REASON!!!!!! HE IS OLDER LIKE TWENTY SEVEN BUT WHEN IT COMES TO RELATIONSHIP ESPECIALLY WITH THE HEROINE. OH. MY. GOODNESS. IT’S LIKE WATCHING A DAMN CHILDISH BOY TRYING TO HAVE A RELATIONSHIP WITH A GROWN ASS WOMAN!!!! AND WHAT IS THE MOST STUPID AS WELL IS THAT THE HEROINE, POOR STUPID WOMAN I MAY ADD BECAUSE SHE IS, THE HEROINE ALWAYS THE ONE REACH OUT TO HIM AND FIGHTING FOR HIM!!!!! EVEN WHEN HE PUSH HER AWAY BECAUSE OF HIS OWN DAMN FAULT, THE HEROINE JUST KEEP ON COMING BACK TO HIM AND CAN NEVER SAY NO TO HIM!!!! WHAT THE ACTUAL FVCK IS THIS!!!!!!! A WOMAN SHOULD NORMALIZE THAT SHE HAVE TO FIX THE MAN WHEN HE IS THE ONE THAT HAVE TO FIX HIMSELF???!!!!! JUST LOVES THE MAN MORE THAN THE MAN LOVES HER???!!!!! BECAUSE FROM THE BEGINNING TILL THE END, THE HERO ALWAYS PUSH THE HEROINE AWAY AND NEVER BRAVE ENOUGH TO REALLY MAKE THINGS RIGHT FOR HER!!!!! THE HERO ALWAYS MAKES MISTAKES AND SAY BAD THINGS AND EVEN BREAK UP WITH THE HEROINE FOR STUPID REASON!!!! AND WHILE HE IS DOING ALL OF THAT TO THE POOR STUPID WOMAN, THE HEROINE JUST EASILY ACCEPT HIM BACK AND FIGHT FOR THE HERO!!!

DAMN THE HEROINE HERE IS SO FREAKIN GREAT CHARACTER!!! BECAUSE THE HEROINE HERE IS A RACE CAR DRIVER, SHE IS SO SMART ON THAT AND SO GOOD AND TALENTED ON THAT, SHE HAVE A AUTOMOTIVE ENGINEER DEGREE AND VERY OUT GOING AND NICE!!! LIKE WHAT A GREAT CHARACTER!!!! BUT…. WHEN IT COMES TO LOVE AND HANDLING THE HERO, THE HEROINE REALLY IS SO STUPID AND LET HERSELF REALLY PURSUE THE HERO… AND NOT THE HERO PURSUE THE HEROINE….

AT FIRST THE HERO REALLY STAKE HIS CLAIM ON THE HEROINE. BUT THEN… THE HEROINE IS ALWAYS THE ONE FIXING THEIR PROBLEM AND PURSUE THE HERO…. EVEN WHEN HE BREAKS UP WITH HER AND SAY THAT. I HATE WEAK AND STUPID HEROINE LIKE THIS!!!!🤢🤢 IT MADE ME SICK TO MY STOMACH TO READ THE HEROINE ALWAYS DO THAT TO THE HERO WHEN HE IS THE MOTHERFVCKING PROBLEM!!!!! 🤢🤢🤢🤢

What disgusted me is that in the end the hero break up with the heroine, he said it first and disappears for weeks without any word to the heroine. NOT ANY FREAKIN TEXT. But he wants to, but because again the hero is very childish and stupid, he never texts the heroine even when the heroine say lets talk. Like the stupid heroine really text first and write lets talk. And when the heroine and hero meet again, the hero DIDN’T I REPEAT HE DIDN’T APOLOGIZE TO HER BUT HE SAY THIS I LOVE YOU SPEECH THAT FOR ME IT’S NOT ENOUGH!!!! THAT IS NOT A SORRY!!!!! THAT IS A FREAKIN EXCUSES!!!!!! AND THE HERO RARELY APOLOGIZED TO THE HEROINE WHEN MANY TIMES HE’S DOING SOMETHING WRONG AND THAT HAPPENS A LOT🤢🤢 idk why but reading this book and when i read the hero is doing it again pushing away the heroine and the heroine okay and pursue him, i say many curse words even tho right now i just got my wisdom teeth out 😆 I can’t help it, my mind really annoyed with the couple and how they’re POV works lol. IT’S LIKE WATCHING A DAMN CHILDREN AS A COUPLE AND NOT A ADULT COUPLE😬 TBH😓😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

BUT I REALLY DO LOVE this book so much! OMG. Beside the stupid heroine and very stupid hero, overall the book is just really good. It’s very refreshing, fun, exciting and great family vibes. Let me explain:

    1. The hero have seven siblings. All of them are MALES. And it started with the hero already talking about his brothers. All of them have a great relationship with each other! Always and yes always there for each other and always supporting. Like the best siblings ever. Each of the brothers have different types of personality…. And back stories! AND ALL OF THEM ARE NOT KNOWN TO BE A MANWHOR3. NO MANWHOR3 HERE GUYS… that so refreshing to read! Because some other books that has brothers in it, ALWAYS say and shows how a manwhor3 all of them are! So freakin disgusting and annoying. BUT NOT THIS ONE! Like i was so happy when i read the brothers doesn’t have woman hanging around them all the time or have woman fvcks them lol. And their family is known to be handsomes and rich! Isn’t that so great lol☺️☺️
    2. The hero have the most sweetest and great Grandmother ever! They have a great relationship with the grandma! All of the brothers always hugging her and kiss her forehead. And they listened to the grandmother more than the dad🤣🤣🤣 so funny and sweet to read this🥺
    3. MANY QUALITY AND FUN ADVENTURE TIMES WITH THE FAMILY ALONG WITH THE HEROINE AS WELL. SERIOUSLY THE MOST BEST PART IS THAT THE BROTHERS ALWAYS MAKE SURE TO HAVE A GREAT TIME! Racing cars, mud trucks racing, Halloween parties together, CAMPING, hiking, freakin rafting! I don’t read this type of scenes anymore because usually about the freakin drama or mystery lol. But this book right here really shows many funs scenes together and adventure! It’s so freakin great😍
    4. THE HERO AND HEROINE SPEND MANY QUALITY TIMES TOGETHER AS WELL…. ADVENTURES, WATCHING AND GO TO THE MOVIES, CLOUD SEEING, CAMP AND HAVE DATES.
    5. THE HERO’S brothers are so welcoming and friendly and so nice to the heroine🥺 no shady business lol.
    6. THE HERO LIVES IN A SMALL TOWN BUT FROM THE BEGINNING TILL THE END, I NEVER EVER SEE HE CROSS PATH WITH ANY OF HIS EX FVCK BUDDY OR EX GIRLFRIEND. NEVER! NO WOMAN EVER FLIRT WITH THE HERO WHEN THE BOOK STARTS TILL THE END. WEIRD BUT THAT’S THE BEST PART!!!! Usually other books will have that scenes idk why but this book doesn’t so I’m very happy about that!
    7. When are single when they first meet and have no one else chasing them or get in between them!
    8. THE HERO NEVER EVER HAVE ANY FEMALE IN HIS ROOM OR HIS BEDROOM. NEVER EVER. I liked that cause sometimes other books (bare with me) they can share how many woman they have sex with in their own bedroom right. But not with this book and the hero! SEE…. THE BEST.
    9. NO MEAN GIRLS EVER SHOWS UP TO THE HEROINE OR HERE ON THIS BOOK. NEVER….. Even when they live at a small town, i never ever see any of that. Which is so freakin sweet!
    10. Most of the brothers still live at the same house as their grandma. And some of the brothers lives in the same area or close to their grandma🥺🥺🥺 Idc if you all find that weird but i think that is great tho🤣
    11. When the heroine was doing a recovery from a accident, the hero for two weeks taking care of her and be so overbearing about her well-being. It was so romantic lol.

So even though I don’t like the way the hero is so childish and the heroine is sooo stupid, I ENJOYED THE BOOK SO MUCH☺️☺️☺️❤️❤️❤️ I READ IT TILL THE END EVEN THOUGH THE ENDING IS ANNOYING😐😑🤣🤣🤣

The story starts with the hero is in the city festival with his brothers. No girls or girlfriends with them(thank goodness). While the hero is talking and enjoying his time with his brothers, suddenly he hear someone talks. A woman. He look over and he saw the heroine for the first time… The heroine is new in town and was driving to the town and saw the festival on the first day. So the hero never saw her before or anyone in that town. And immediately the hero really went after the heroine… Already looking after her and make sure she’s having a good time in the festival☺️

“I’ve never met a woman who’s affected me like she has, and I don’t know what to do with these feelings. Being an asshole to her was easier.”

    ‼️‼️‼️LOVE IN FIRST SIGHT

SAFE ALL THE WAY FROM THE BEGINNING….

“I freeze when I find the source of the noise a few lanes over. A young woman about my age is bouncing on her toes and clapping after successfully hitting the hundred-point target with all nine balls, earning herself the top score. But her score is not what’s captured my attention. It’s her. With a bright smile, fair skin, and fiery red hair, she just might be the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen.”

“She’s fucking adorable, and I need to know who she is right now.”

Like damn, i love that the hero IMMEDIATELY went after the heroine and introduced himself and make sure everybody in the festival knows about it! And those everybody is everyone in the small city. The way the hero meets the heroine for the first time and how they really starts from there IS SOOOO FREAKIN ROMANTIC!!!!! The hero immediately holds the heroine hand and say to someone when they asked that the heroine is his girl🥺

‼️‼️‼️TRIGGERS: Mommy issues, big family, drugs, alcohol, car accidents, hospital, childish behaviors, bad parenting and death.

    ‼️‼️‼️DUAL POV

‼️‼️‼️THE HERO IS OVER THE TOP POSSESSIVE PROTECTIVE PRO RACE CAR DRIVER ALPHA MALE. The hero is not a manwhor3.

The hero is amazing at first then we can see how his behavior and his attitude many times can be childish… and sometimes so close minded either. At first the hero was so into the heroine and really pursue her! The hero after he meet the heroine at the festival, he asked her number and they made plans to meet up again. The next day he went on a race then he saw the heroine winning the race. Basically the heroine wins… And when he found out the heroine is a race car driver like him without telling him. He was so MAD. He was MAD and even tell that to her in front of everybody in the party that the heroine lie to him and kept it a secret! LIKE YOU REALLY HAVE TO BE SO DRAMATIC ABOUT THAT? 😑 Like talk the heroine in private about it and not in public! 🙄 DUMBASS. Then afterwards the hero went on silent to the heroine for weeks! Then he saw the heroine again at the bar talking to someone he doesn’t like at all, he went on caveman at her and grab her, taking her away at the bar. The hero and heroine have s3x in the woods (bad idea but whatever) then he got scared again about himself and about the heroine and got INSECURE about the relationship, he said to the heroine it was a mistake. Then he went away again and do the silent treatment to her again…. HE DID THIS THREE TIMES AND SO FREAKIN ANNOYING TO READ THAT!!!

And sometimes he gaslighting the heroine when the heroine want to talk about his WRONG THINGS….

So basically the hero is childish, insecure and definitely have mommy issues. He have this thing that made him not trusting woman so much especially in relationship, that why he never have a serious relationship before because of the mommy issues he has. And this is me for the first time reading a hero that have issues like that and basically throughout the end still have that! 🙄🙄🙄 Even his POV is so freakin confusing sometimes because it’s like reading a child basically, a child that is handsome and have d*ck lol.

His insecurities always like this: “I’m scared of fucking things up with Sophia, and scared I’ll lose her. Relationships are new to me, and I’ve no clue what the hell I’m doing. But I want this with her. I want her. I’m scared she doesn’t care as much for me as I care for her. Sometimes I catch her looking at me in ways that give me so much hope.”

But then when things goes bad, he never ever go and pursue the heroine even when he made the mistake. So freakin annoying!

And it shows that the hero is always ott possessive because he is insecure. LIKE WTF?! In Rina Kents books or any other books that have ott possessive alpha male, it just shows that the hero really like to be possessive. It’s their nature, it’s their soul really like to keep the woman alone for themselves. NOT BASED FVCKING INSECURITIES LIKE THIS BOOK SHOWS!!!!!

‼️‼️‼️THE HEROINE. The heroine is not too sassy, too stupid, childish sometimes, WEAK AS FVCK and a freakin race car driver! The heroine have a beautiful red hair 👍🏼 But unfortunately she is too weak for the hero that she basically always go for him…. And that is many down stars for her 😑 I forgot how many times i said STUPID WOMAN to the heroine because she so damn easy to manipulate by the hero😓😓😓😓

And the heroine always say to the hero that she will never go away even when things goes wrong about him…. WEAK FVCKING WOMAN!!!!! 🤮 I freakin cringe every time i read the heroine just lower her standards like that for that hero who is basically can’t fight his own demons for her🤬

“The man has some serious baggage. We all have baggage, but his is worse. His runs deep into his soul and is attached to it like a parasite sucking the life out of its host.”

She knows but she just keep chasing after him 🥵🥵🥵

    Tragic. Pathetic.

‼️‼️‼️THE HERO IS TWENTY SEVEN YEARS OLD AND THE HEROINE IS 25.

‼️‼️‼️NO DRAMA WITH OW. Only with OM but not too annoying and not too much! And many of the drama is about the hero and his mommy issues🤭

‼️‼️‼️MANY JEALOUS SCENES FROM THE HERO… thank goodness for that lol.

And he got sooo possessive towards her even from the first time he saw her 😍 “Movement out of the corner of my eye pulls my eyes off her. Tanner Koch is watching her with lust-filled amusement. He says something to one of his brothers and moves in her direction as if he’s going to act on his wicked thoughts. A possessive growl grumbles out of my chest like I have some claim to this gorgeous stranger despite knowing full well that I don’t. But that doesn’t stop me from taking the first step toward her. My strides are long and quick, and I reach her before Tanner even gets within twenty feet of her.”

“He had his hands on you. He’s not allowed to touch you.”

“Oh, come on. I’d think you of all people would be happy to have her tag along. A pretty girl into cars is hot as fuck. You can’t tell me you don’t find that attractive.”
I growl and turn away from my brother because he doesn’t need to see how affected I am by this woman. Not that he doesn’t already know.
“Don’t talk about her like that.”
    “Like what?”
    Chase laughs.
    “Don’t call her hot.”
    “But she is hot.”
    He waggles his brows.
“Especially when she’s covered in grease and using car terms that most girls have never even heard before. It’s enough to make any man hard.”
I grab Chase by the shirt and lift my fist. We’re the same height, but I’m broader than him. I can easily take him in a fight.
“Don’t think about her like that.”

“No man gets to lay a finger on you. Not after I had my hands and mouth on you. Is that understood?”

‼️‼️‼️THE HERO IS SOOO OBSESSED WITH THE HEROINE AND WANTS HER SOOOO BAD….

“He can flirt with any girl he wants, except Sophia. She’s mine.”

“Once I reach her, I immediately take her hand and pull her close. She’s mine, and I want everyone in this town to know it.”

“What are you talking about? You’ve met plenty of your girlfriends’ parents before.”

“I’ve known the parents of the girls I’ve dated before. There’s a difference. With every girl I’ve ever dated, I knew their parents first. Beaver is small. Everyone knows everyone. Today will be the first time I’ve ever met the parents after the fact.”

“We may have gotten off to a rocky start but being here with her like this feels good. It feels right. I never saw myself as boyfriend material. Knowing me, I’ll probably screw this up five hundred different ways. But there’s something about her that makes me want to try. She makes me want to be a better man, and no one has ever made me feel like that before.”

I think the hero really do love and obsessed with the heroine in his own way. Which is super great and it’s very romantic… But at the same time, he have his own demons and THAT ALWAYS GETS TO HIM AND GETTING BETWEEN HIS MIND ABOUT THE HEROINE. Which is so childish. And he also failed to addressed his situation so much to the heroine to where he just always WALKS AWAY AND SAY BAD THINGS TO HER….

It’s like watching a man with period cramps. But the best thing about his stupidity, he just walks away and go to a nature or his cave and be alone. He never ever goes to anyone else. So that’s great!

‼️‼️‼️IT HAS SEPARATION BUT NOT TOO LONG…. DURING THE SEPARATION AND EVEN BEFORE THEY ARE EXCLUSIVE, BOTH NEVER GO TO ANYONE ELSE EVER…

‼️‼️‼️NO FVCK BUDDY OR EX GIRLFRIEND BOYFRIEND EVER SHOWS UP….

‼️‼️‼️VERY HOT SMUT SCENES 😍😍😍 The hero really worships the heroine’s body and make her satisfied…

“I want to own her pleasure and drag every last drop of it out of her in agonizingly slow strokes of my tongue and cock until the only name she remembers is mine.”

    😏😏😶‍🌫️😶‍🌫️😶‍🌫️😶‍🌫️

‼️‼️‼️NO TALKING ABOUT PAST PARTNERS ever

    ‼️‼️‼️NO VIRGINS

‼️‼️‼️THE CHEMISTRY between the couple is very romantic and hot! You can definitely feel it🔥🔥🔥💙💙

‼️‼️‼️IT HAS PUSHING AWAY FROM THE HERO WAY TOO MUCH as you can read it above of what i write about it. And the heroine never push the hero away ever!

‼️‼️‼️HAPPY ENDING. Engaged and the bonus book they got Married! ❤️❤️❤️

‼️‼️‼️I don’t know if i will read another book from this series even though the book here is so freakin amazing…. Because all the heroes have MOMMY ISSUES. All of them! So all of them are very complicated about their true feelings about woman and love in general. I already have a headache reading this hero on this book, I can’t imagine the more headaches i will get if i read next book about the brothers in the series here. Because those mommy issues, insecurities and childish thoughts just made the romance so annoying to read. Especially me trying to escape the real world of seeing many man have insecurities then to see the same man have the same thing is just annoying🥲 I’M GLAD THOUGH THIS BOOK HAVE MANY family adventure activities and many other fun stuff that made me smile more about it. Especially seeing a heroine character have the best job ever and best hobby ever. So it wasn’t a complete disappointment 😌

I hope the author really fix the mess and have a better characters personality in her next book about the series 🙏🏼

    Wow, what a ride!!

Did you read that blurb? Yeah, Mac is all that, but he's also the youngest of seven brothers, wrestling with abandonment issues, zero trust in all women (except Grams), and still struggling with intense anxiety from an injury that might have ended his career.

I was instantly drawn into the entire Mutter clan, and I loved how all seven brothers work together to support each other, "no matter what." Theirs is an unusual family, but the family business - "Mutter Truckers Auto & Racing" - keeps them focused on what they do best.

Sophia is an up-and-coming racecar driver with a degree in mechanical engineering, and she wants to learn from the best so she makes her way to the very small town of Beaver, Ohio to work for and learn from the Mutter family, including her racing hero, Mac.

Their chemistry is instantly combustible, insanely intense, and all-consuming. Neither one really knows what to do with it, and while Mac makes a lot of mistakes along the way, understanding what he's gone through in his life makes him a sympathetic anti-hero. I completely understood why Sophia fought so hard with him and for him because I felt the same way she did.

This was the first book I've read by this author, and I'm hooked. I loved her character development, the many layers to each one, including those on the other side of the Mutter-Koch feud, and I appreciated how realistic the family dynamics were. There are no easy answers here. I also loved the way she incorporated the steamy, intimate scenes into the storyline. Not just their first time together, but throughout their relationship we're shown how their physical chemistry affects their emotional connection, and not always in a good way. The raw emotional vulnerability shown by Mac and Sophia was genuine and heartfelt. These are characters that will stay in my head for quite some time, I'm sure.

Mac and Sophia get a beautiful HEA that incorporates more than just their relationship, and throughout the story we get to know the other Mutter brothers enough to be able to speculate on who each of them might be paired up with in the future. I'm eagerly looking forward to reading more in this series. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

I absolutely adored this book. These characters, and the story, it was so good. Sophia is new in town, coming for a job. And meets Mac at the festival. And Mac, he’s a brooding, stubborn race car driver, whose been scared to drive since a bad accident. When these two meet, it’s an instant attraction. But, because of Macs past, he fights his feelings. But these two, can’t stay away for long. Especially when she starts working at his brothers auto shop. These characters, they make you like them. And Mac.. the crap he’s dealing with, from his childhood.. the abandonment issues… it makes you sympathize with him. But sometimes I wanted to smack him through the phone, because he was being stupid. Lol. I recommend this book, and am looking forward to the others in this series.

  • Laura Spinnett

Mac and Sophia meet, and the competition and sparks fly! Feelings, both past and present, threaten to overwhelm them and their relationship. Mac fears abandonment, and Sophia wants acceptance. Can they make it work? The story has great characters, great supporting characters; all flawed and broken in their own way; but supportive of each other. Mac and Sophia's tumultuous relationship will make your heart stick in your throat as you root for them to pull each other through to an HEA. Will they make it? I sure hope so!.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

  • Suze Prescot

Sophia is a car enthusiast; she races them and is a mechanic; Mac Mutter is the youngest of seven men and a star driver, until an accident shook his confidence. Mac also has issues with trusting women, so his instant attraction to Sophia is dampened when he discovers she races and wants to work in his brothers' garage.
I loved this story. Small-town romance, great descriptions, emotional issues to overcome. Aria Bliss is rapidly becoming a favourite. If you love Dakota Davies, you'll love this (and vice-versa!)

I loved this book. Especially the race car diving aspect to it and having a girl Mechanic for a change.
Other than me thinking Mac needs to go to therapy, I loved their relationship and I can’t wait to read the rest of the series

Hang on for an emotional roller coaster complete with lots of baggage

This was a a great quick read, and kept me pulled in from the jump. Mac and Sophia are both racecar drivers and auto enthusiasts. She doesn’t divulge that fact at first as they literally meet at a fair and hang out, and he discovers it after she beats him in a race. He’s got a boatload of emotional baggage after being abandoned by his mother and every other woman his dad brought home, so he doesn’t take it well. He knows he’s being an idiot over and over for most of the story, but he just can’t help himself. Too many years of carrying that baggage means he is his own worst enemy most of the time. He is a jerk to Sophia many times, trying to push her away before she can leave him too. It doesn’t have to make sense to anyone else- in his head it does 😏 She carries her own baggage though, and can see through his act. While I think she is a saint at times, she also manages to not come across as a doormat. Somehow she’s his perfect match. She’s such a great strong character, fighting for her place in a field that isn’t always welcoming to women.

I love the connection with family. Max is one of seven brothers, all with one father and multiple mothers who aren’t around. And a dad who failed them all. They all bare the scars of their upbringing. Their wonderful Grams is their saving grace and one bit of stability in their lives. I look forward to reading each of the Mutter Brothers stories.

I absolutely loved this book! What a start to a series!! I really enjoyed the concept of the 7 Mutter brothers and how their childhood and relationship (or lack of) with each of their parents shaped them. Mac won't be for everyone (there are significant trigger warnings listed at the start of the book) and he had a lot he needed to work through, but I loved that from the moment he saw Sophia something clicked into place. It wasn't smooth sailing and the Author really helped the characters deal with some intense experiences and emotions but it was so worth it!

And how do I even describe Mac and Sophia... other than intense heat 🔥 The Author knows how to write a spicy scene that's for sure! But this book is so much more than the physical chemistry (although it's amazing) and I highly recommend you read it if you love a small town, grumpy sunshine romance.

Do you like to read stories in which a woman chose a male profession? If the answer is "Yes", then you will like "Truck you".
This is a story in which a woman chose to develop in a male environment, namely rally racing. Sofia is great, strong, very smart and well-read. Not only can she change a flat tire and fix her entire car by herself, she drives and races far better than many men. She has chosen this particular vocation for herself and has proven to everyone that she is doing great and, whatever she wants, she gets it. And now she wants him too.
He is sexy, smart, handsome, funny and the ultimate rally racer. He is Mac Mutter. One moment he wants her, the next he's running head over heels. He can't have her, but he can't leave her, because she attracts and enchants him, she is the breath of fresh air he needs, she is his fuel.
🥀 The story is great. I really liked Sofia because she did not fit into the usual female stereotypes, but chose a slightly different profession and hobby and stood up for her desires and dreams. I also liked Mac because he was wild, unbridled and unpredictable. Well there were times when I wanted to shake him for his rash actions and actions, but after reading the whole book I realized that they were dictated by the fear of rejection and loss caused in the past. I also love Mack's brothers. All funny, smart, beautiful and friendly and I can't wait to read their stories too because I have a feeling they will be as good as this one.

I have loved every series that I have read of Aria’s, and I am so excited about this new one! The best thing is that there are seven brothers, so I’m hoping we will get seven books of the series.

This book is about Mac Mutter and Sophia Becker. Mac is the youngest of the seven brothers, and he is a famous race car driver. Most of his brothers worked in the business with him, but they don’t race the cars. Mac meets Sophia at a bar and they immediately have a connection. Sophia doesn’t tell Mac the real reason why she’s in his town.

This was a nice love story between the two, but it took a long time to get there because of Mac’s major trust issues. My heart broke for a little boy who sat at the window, waiting for his mom to come back, and for the man who felt that everyone would leave him. Therefore, he tends to sabotage all his relationships, including the one he had with Sophia.

The thing I love best about this book was the camaraderie between all the brothers. This is different in the fact that they all come from four different moms, but that doesn’t stop them from being very close to each other. They also were all raised by their grandmother, who I thought was amazing as well. I am so excited for the next books.

This book is a little different than the other ones because it didn’t have much humor in it. These people have real issues, but it’s also nice because most people in “real life”tend to be like this. It’s raw. It’s real. It packs so much emotion. I do wish that the author would tone down some of the profanity, but that’s just a preference of mine. I still loved the book.

I was given in advanced copy of this book for free, and I’m leaving my review voluntarily.

A chance meeting at a county fair has sparks flying between Mac and Sophia and it makes for a sweet initial encounter. However, the next time they meet, she beats him in a race she didn’t tell him she was competing in, and he feels betrayed and lied to.
You see, our Hero of the story Mac, comes with a lot of baggage. The youngest of seven boys to four different mothers, and his leaving him without a backward glance at age five, has left him with abandonment issues and a deep mistrust of women. And Sophia is just the latest of a line of them in his mind.
Life has different plans with Sophia becoming a fixture in his and that spark between them just won’t go away.
A great story for the first in the series about the Mutter family. Ms. Bliss does a great job of introducing all the characters but making Mac and Sophia the focus of this well written book. Don’t kid yourself into thinking this is a rom com, these two struggle to get to a happy place. His issues rear up time and again causing him to blow hot and cold. He is growly, overprotective, possessive and jealous, where she just wants to prove herself in a man’s world and despite his issues, is drawn to Mac. Plenty of great banter, lots of disagreements and fights, some smoking hot sex scenes and a surprising amount of growth from Mac when he finally opens up and lets Red in. A very enjoyable small-town romance.

    A Fun Read

This book was fun to read. Set in a small town with what I would consider a light feud, Mac Mutter is the youngest of seven boys. He’s a racecar striver, and his default state is grumpy. He’s got some good reasons to be grumpy, though. Childhood trauma from an absent mother, an almost career-ending crash a few years ago, and the redhead who just moved to town.

The redhead’s name is Sophie. She’s also a racer, and an aspiring mechanic. She’s gotten a lot of flack for being a female in the racing circuit. She moved to a small town in Ohio to learn from the Mutter boys, since they’re so of the best.

Mac gets instalust pretty hard for Sophie when they first meet at a local fair, not long after she arrives. That doesn’t go away when she beats him in a race a few days later, or when she shows up for an interview with one of his brothers. Boy does he fight it hard, though. Especially when it grows to more.

One of the fun parts of the book was meeting his brothers, and trying to figure out which of the female characters may turn into their future heroines. I look forward to reading the rest of the Mutter brothers to learn their stories.

Mac and Sophia’s story has lots of angst and tumultuous emotions. They have the love of cars and racing in common and should have no trouble getting along, but Mac’s past has screwed him up emotionally. His mother abandoned him after telling him she would be right back, so he has major trust issues when it comes to women. Sophia didn’t tell him about her racing or applying to be a mechanic at his family’s garage when they spent her first day in town together. Now, no matter how much he wants her, can’t stop thinking about or just plain wants to be with her, he tells himself that she isn’t to be trusted. His jealousy, his rudeness, and grumpy attitude have left Sophia’s head spinning, and her heart and mind disappointed. Yet, her resolve hasn’t wavered. She came here to learn how to build and repair race cars so that she can be a better race car driver and mechanic. She won’t let Mac and his attitude deter her. Everyone around them can see and feel the sparks between them. Some want to keep them separated, others keep pushing them toward each other with the hope they will get everything sorted out between them. That can’t happen until Mac faces the pain of his past and lets it all go. Can Sophia help him do that? Will she give him a chance even after he repeatedly hurts her feelings?

I loved this two characters, flaws, quirks and all. Their instant connection is amazing, their chemistry fierce and supernova hot, even if the way forward is bumpy and littered with land mines. They do eventually get there happily ever after. His close knit family is wonderful. Yes, they fight, tease and harass each other unmercifully, but the unconditional love and support is evident. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series!.
