This is an excellent-excellent book. I can't say how much this book really summarizes a lot of what I have read in a number of other books.

Surprisingly, I finished this 435 page monster in one week. I still have the receipt as a bookmark. It is one of the best books I have ever read, but more from an encouragement and support standpoint.

Amazon has had 215 people review the book. 200 of them gave it 5 stars! the other 15 four stars! It was compelling enough for me to start reading the book immediately and I am glad I did.

The front cover is right, if you are to only read one book this year, make this book the one.

I would highly recommend this to anyone ambitious, in sales, or an entrepreneur. It will help get you in the proper mindset to do something big.

If you are to read any book this year. This is the one!

I'm a great fan of self-help books. I read lots of them, enthusiastically, hoping for even one insight that will make me a better person. Canfield's (The Chicken Soup author) offering in the genre is the dumbest self-help book I've ever read. There are 65 principles for success in it, an absurd number that virtually guarantees that you'll never be able to follow any of them. And every single one is a cliche. To write this book, he must have gone to the bookstore, bought every self-help book he could get his hands on, and then proceeded to take every recommendation in every tome and paste them all together. Don't waste your money.

Let me tell you what I didn’t like about this book:

    1) The name dropping stories will (and in some cases already are) dated. This book will not hold up over the years. He talks about people, TV Shows, movies etc, that in 75 years, no one will know what they are or who they were. I had this problem when I read Napoleon Hill’s books. Stuff that was a normal mind set when he wrote the books are no longer applicable. This caused me to grow frustrated while reading it.

    2) The later principles talk about financial success. Where the information is sound, it doesn’t work for everyone. It is not a blanket approach. He says “Don’t think you can’t do it”. Well, let me see, if I save 50% of my paycheck in a savings account what will I be? Rich? No I’d be homeless. If you make $100K a year, then this is a possibility. If you make $40K a year, live in NYC and have a kid in college along with being a single parent, saving 50% of your check is not something you should be doing.

    3) A lot of regurgitated information. Most of the stuff in the earlier chapters I’ve read or heard about over the last 20 years. There is no new information in here.

    4) Too much book plugging for his “Chicken Soup for The Soul” books. We get it. You made money with these books. You had a million dollar idea…blah blah blah.

Let me tell you what I did like about this book:

    1) I listened to the audio version so it was abridged. I do have the physical copy, but I don’t think I’ll be reading that any time soon.

    2) There is some good information in here for those who are new to Jack Canfield and or this way of thinking. If you have been a student of manifesting and metaphysics for a while, this book will be too elementary.

    3) I did like his principle on how you can self educate yourself. People think schooling is the only way to get ahead. Don’t get me wrong, it sure helps, but you can learn things by reading or watching educational TV or films. Or you can talk to people who can stimulate your thought process. He talks about staying away from negative people and those who will pull you down.

    4) He did mention Stephen King.

And I do understand that this is not an instant fix. It should take years and years to master these principles. This is a great book for a 25 year old. For a 50 year old who has kids in college and gets paid minimum wage…not so helpful (financial info). Although we can all have a successful mindset, and because of that, this book has merit.

This book was not very motivational for me.

This is the most inspiring motivational/self-help book I've read to date. I love Canfield's simple, precise writing - not a word is wasted. This book is one of those books where you start referring to your life in terms of "before I read the book" and "after I read the book." There are no earth shattering revelations in here, per se; what is great about this book is Canfield's effectiveness in telling you what you already knew in a way that makes you suddenly, finally, take note.

Reading Sucks! That's what I used to think Before I've read this book.
This Book completely Changed my life. I've never read a book in my life and took so much action towards change in my personality and my future success. As I read the SIXTY-FOUR principles, I never ran across a statement or a belief that I didn't find true. The ones that I did question worked ONE-HUNDRED Percent of the time.
Before I read this book I was quiet, timid, and quiet frankly angry all of the time. I hated anything and everything, all day and everyday. I also had the tendency to blame others for my problems.
Even when I first bought this book, I never gave the thought to open it.I just bought it and then tossed it aside. One day, my brother saw the book laying somewhere in my room (which I don't know where) and began to read the first couple pages.
"This book is probably the best book you have ever written." Was the first words my brother said to me after only reading the pages before the first chapter even begun.
Obviously, after that situation, I gave the book a try and never put the book down since. Now I am motivated to read everyday, look for the bright side of life, and take full responsibility of my success and failure.

If you never buy Educational/Self-Help books this book is definitely worth reading. I hated reading, but after reading this book I realized that there are thousands of books there for everyone. You just haven't found one yet.

Jack Canfield has positivity in his hands and molds it to help him through all of his goals. He has not only made millions of peoples dreams come true by helping to motivate them, but has now put his knowledge of success in one book. The other inspiring part of this book is how he has managed to paraphrase other important and standard self-help and motivational books and condensed the most important parts in his own. He keeps you going with every page. I would stay up to 3am reading, and recently a friend that I recommended this book to was so moved they woke up at 5am to continue reading on. Since reading it I have meet only seriously positive and ambitious people and I have started noticing more books and readings around town (I picked up a local paper that was for women by women and it was centered around goals and positivity) (Hello, Law of Attraction anyone?) and it just keeps surrounding me. Opportunities are opening up with the great new friends I have met. I recommend this to EVERYONE! It's a must read.

  • Renee (itsbooktalk)

I listened to this on audio and thought it was engaging and filled with inspiring principles. There are many, many principles to choose from so it's an easy, adaptable way to pick and choose what you want to incorporate more of in your life

  • Astrid Paramita

If you're a self help book reader (like me), this book didn't really provide anything new or breakthrough. You probably know everything already.

Why aren't we successful yet, then? Maybe we forgot the principles, or we got sidetracked by other things? I questioned whether I'm that person who prayed to win a lottery but never actually buy the ticket.

This book helped in evaluating what you already did, what you could've done, and what you could change. It's a gentle kind of book, providing many heart warming examples. Examples that made you think if they can do it, surely you can do it too. It doesn't force you to do every single 25 steps at one time, take it at your own pace, but make sure to be persistent.

Being successful doesn't happen overnight. I imagine it's like turning water to steam. You put a lot of heat to it and you see nothing. Only if you keep at it, it'll eventually boil and turned to steam. Most people only see it at the moment it boils.

PS: I think the book made me realize that I have a fear of rejection, even before I got rejected. It's a chapter I'd want to go back to and reread over and over again.

This book talks about 67 timeless principles of success that the world’s most famous men and women have employed in their lives to transform their lives beyond their wildest dreams. My most important take-aways from this book are:

Take 100% responsibility for your life: Don’t blame your luck or adverse astrological positions. Do whatever is in your hand.

Think about small successes in life: We are all conditioned to remember about our failures but if I were to ask you whether you had any success this week, you will struggle to remember any.

We all remember the bad things in our life but don’t remember the last time we were paid a compliment.

This book forces you to think of your small successes rather than failures. The Author asks you to maintain a diary (your victory log) where you jot down all forms of successes, be it a compliment, good grades, a new customer or you sticking to your routine. This really helps in improving your self-esteem.

Surround yourself with successful positive people: In order to be successful, you must surround yourself with positive people and do away with negative (toxic) people who slowly suck away all your happiness, just like a vampire sucks blood.

And the most important one: Never Give Up.

For anyone who needs a hand to guide you towards taking small steps towwards your successful career, this is a good book to read.

I picked up Jack Canfield's Sucess Principles book since I was having such success with his Dream Big System, and didn't want to miss out on any nuggets of information that would help me get to where I am so excited to go. I am so glad I bought this book. There is nowhere else you need to go to figure out your life purpose, and begin to work your dream plan. He covers EVERYTHING you need to know about conceptualizing your goal from the thought stage, to buidling your team, to dealing with obstacles, and finally, to learning to manage your success once you get there. There are no leaves left unturned in this pathway to success, and if you want to learn more about a certain concept or topic, Jack has listed the website for you to explore that area of interest. I love this book, and find it a helpful partner to the Dream Big System and the Vision Board Book. I challenge you to read it, and then get up and do something with what you learn.

  • J.F. Penn

This is currently my favourite book and re-reading again...as well as listening the audio. Packed with tips and inspiration for a successful life in all areas.

  • Reader

Great disappointment. It's like advertising on Chicken Soup for the Soul. Also, the principles are very flat and dull.Only repeating uninteresting stories over and over again.

  • Ayoub

This book never ceased to blow my mind with every single page. It's a goldmine of very useful concepts and frameworks to achieve success, I couldn't put it down literally, finished it in just 3 days. There is no page that I didn't highlight a part of, and sometimes I had to highlight the entire page lol. This book is must read for very breathing, functioning human being. And not just once, at least once or twice a year, every year for the rest of your life. Yep, that's how good it is. Period.

The Success Principles โดย Jack Canfield

Step-by-Step

    แต่ The Success Principles ของแจ็ค แคนฟีลด์เป็น Great book ค่ะ

I consider this the bible of success as it contains principal laws that will help you attain success. Just like the bible you need to read the book from time to time to master it and use it as reference. The author doesn't pretend to take credit for all the principles written in the book but it was based also from other reference materials that he had gathered from know writers like Brain Tracy, Anthony Robbins to name a few. Divided into several parts from developing a successful attitude to how to develop a successful team. Powerful if applied well.

  • Laleh

A very looong book, which is why it took me so long to finish, but VERY useful, and one which I will definitely be visiting again. I have already begun to put a few principles to use, with very satisfactory results, and look forward to implementing the rest

Dang this book was long. And it really didn't need to be. Did I learn anything from it? Honestly, who even knows. Maybe something sunk into the depths of my consciousness and will help me in my time of need.

Overall, it was okay. Most of the principles that Canfield talks about are almost common sense, but since a lot of people lack that, maybe it's good to get it down on paper. It's pretty much the same as other self help books - positive thinking leads to positive results. And he even threw in some exercises you can do to help you on your way. Side note: there were a lot of daily exercises that he wanted you to do and ain't nobody got time for that. It almost felt like your whole day would be staring in the mirror telling yourself how awesome you are and 5 things you're going to complete and 5 things you're going to change and so on and so on.

But there were a lot of little things that kept me from fully digesting the book. Canfield repeats himself multiple times through the duration of this book - and not like to drive the point home, but more like maybe he forgot he already used this description in another principle because a lot of them were duplicates of each other but with different names.

There was also a lot of religious talk and if that's your jam, then this is good for you. But as a non-religious person, I don't really need to be told to put my trust in God and so on. In addition to this, Canfield felt very preachy, like his word was gospel because look at how awesome he was and how much money he had and how many super famous friends that he had.

Anyway, I've heard people rave about this book and I do agree with some of his principles. But the book was just a little too much for me and I found myself just wanting to be done with it.

  • Shilpa Harry

Another expectational self-guidance textbook, the author highlights the principles for success with case studies. Definitely requires a real-life application from the readers for reflection on the principles mentioned...

  • Micky Blue Skies

Let me just start off by saying I love Jack Canfield for writing this book that is how much I love it. This too was a life changer for me because I have always struggled in the past with setting and reaching goals. However, The Success Principles shows you how to do just that. It is also filled with people who were able to set and reach their goals by changing just a few things in their routine every day.

I initially checked this book out last year or the year before read a little bit of it and took it back. Then being disappointed with where I was headed forced me to take stock of what I was and was not doing, so I finally bought the unabridged version from Audible, but because it does not list all of the principles I purchased the actual book and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made.

You cannot go wrong by purchasing this book. Yes, it is a big book, but it is filled with the necessary tools to help you succeed in life no matter what area. You will not be disappointed.

    Enjoy!

If there was just one book you could read out of all self-help material. In my opinion, it is this one.

Jack Canfield is a man who has attended hundreds of seminars, read thousands of books and apprenticed under some of the most influential and successful mentors. So when he talks, you have to pay attention.

This book truly is what the title says it is. Hence it is relevant to everyone.

It starts off right. Cruises well and finishes with plenty of references to start you off on the journey of Self-Help.

    Masterpiece.
