The Archies \u0026 Josie and the Pussycats (Archie \u0026 Friends All-Stars) Reviews

I like the idea of presenting an interracial relationship in Archie. However, this story lacks some of the comedy of typical Archie stories. It seems like they wanted to treat this topic with respect, but without the over-the-top pratfalls, Archie loses some of its charm.

I loved this book. The artwork is beautiful in the usual Archie Comics house style. The jokes are innocent, but funny in the way too few things are now a days. It seems everywhere everything is about the act of love, in particular in romances, but not here. And I have to admit it is a refreshing change to read about a couple that just wants to be together. If I had one complaint its that Archie is so caught up in his love with Valerie that Betty and Veronica are made to take a back seat. They constantly complain about losing Archie to Valerie, as he's mooning over her more than he ever mooned over them, and I can't help but feel that was a bit silly. I would have liked to have seen Archie no less interested in them, just more interested in Valerie when she's around. *sighs* Oh well, everything can't always be perfect. I just don't like the idea of this being an Archie/Valerie universe, when I'd rather have an Archie /Valerie?/Betty?/Veronica? universe. The question should always be up in the air exactly who our boy Archie is madly mooning over now. After all he's just an innocent little teenager isn't he? In a world with a lot less complications, which is what makes any visit I make to Riverdale all the more welcome and fun.
I love Archie with Valerie I have to say. But I still don't think our boy Archie should settle down with just anyone gal. -
Of the 3 Archie books I recently introduced inside my household I would say this is better than the two I bought before it. That is, my oldest daughter and I think this book was better than the What If Archie Married Betty/Veronica? or The Man From R.I.V.E.R.D.A.L.E.

This is a great story!
The Archies and Josie and the Pussycats go on tour together. It was so cool to see these two bands come together.
This comic also shows the romance between Archie and Valerie. They were together for a bit on the show Riverdale, but I didn’t know they had ever been together in the comics. It was kind of awkward to see him with someone other than Betty and Veronica.
As well as the bands, their managers also made an appearance. Josie and the Pussycats had their evil managers Alexander and Alexandra, who stirred up lots of trouble for the bands.
I loved this short collection of comics. It’s a must read for fans of the Archies and Josie and the Pussycats. -
I read Rock & Roll Romance already, and it makes more sense after reading this, building up Archie and Valerie's relationship more. It is still just so not realistic to band touring, which kind of takes me out of it. Plus, it seems unrealistic that they would keep working with Alex Cabot. Maybe the books need the dramatic tension he causes, but that doesn't make it logical within the book that the band continues with him.

I love whenever the gang teams up with Josie and the Pussycats. Plus, I'm an Archie/Valerie shipper so this was extra fun. If you liked this, read Rock & Roll Romance too!

I thoroughly enjoyed this graphic novel/comic book. Although I am more of a Team Betty guy as far as the eternal Archie/Betty/Veronica love triangle goes, Dan Parent did an excellent job creating a believable well-told story involving the development of a friendship turned romantic relationship between Archie and Valerie from Josie and the Pussycats. If Archie were to date a Pussycat, Valerie would be the best possible and most interesting choice. She is smart, talented, beautiful and sexy. She is not afraid to speak her mind. The Archie/Valerie relationship starts out as a friendship that progresses into a romance. They truly seem to love and care for each other, a fact that is noticed by Betty, Veronica, Archie's father, among others. However, is Archie's love for Valerie strong enough to overcome the long history of his triangular relationship with Betty and Veronica? Good question. There is also the interracial element. As far as I know, this is the first time that Archie ever dated an African-American girl. I liked the fact that no one in Riverdale made a big deal that Archie is white while Valerie is black. Apparently, racism doesn't seem to exist in Riverdale. I wish I could say the same about the real world.

1) Has anyone ever seen Alex Cabot and Reggie in the same room? (Cleft chin?)
2) If Veronica and Archie are not "going steady," as stated by the Lodges, what ARE they doing?
3) Valerie can tour Europe, but Archie has to "finish school," how old are the Pussycats???
4) Love how Alexandra Cabot is like an evil, dark-haired Betty.
5) Oh God. The Archie characters have Facebook pages. I would read a book that was strictly their FB pages and FB interactions with eachother. Would be so cool. Or a History of Archie, like the History of the World FB posts that College Humor does.
6) Meanwhile, back to the whole "being in love" with Valerie thing. Does Archie love Betty/Veronica?
7) Awesome Veronica/Jughead fun.
8) The Archie's set list is included--if you want more than Sugar Sugar. :D (Looking them up on YouTube!!) -
I love Josie and the Pussycats and Valerie has always been my favorite. This is a cute story of love between Valerie and Archie. Of all people Archie, never thought he would end up with Betty or Veronica but Valerie is a delightful surprise.

I had never heard of the Archies before but I had always loved Josie and the Pussycats. it was a cute book although it was more about Valerie and Archie then anything or anyone else.

Worst art I've ever seen, but a few good lines.
