Fish Chips (Cut Run, #3) Reviews

My favorite of the series...so far!
A few reasons why I ♥ Ty:
♥ He loves Zane
♥ He can play the sex kitten bottom when he wants to
♥ He can kick Zane's ass when he needs to
♥ He's a Saints fan
♥ He can remain calm and stoic in life or death situations
A few reasons why I ♥ Zane:
♥ He's addicted to Ty
♥ He's possessive of Ty
♥ He's afraid of falling...
♥ He's a closet romantic
♥ He's awesome at poker
A few reasons why I ♥ this book:
♥ It's fast paced
♥ Ty & Zane are becoming more comfortable with each other; sharing, trusting and attached
♥ It has many sweet sexy and hot smexy scenes
♥ There's more romance and their partnership/relationship has become more than just fucking and getting off
♥ I was so wrapped up in the romance I wasn't even trying to figure out the mystery. Some specifics of the case were quite outrageous but I loved this story too much to be bothered
I think real life should leave me alone and let me devote my time solely to Ty & Zane!!
5 Stars all the way from me! -
I finished the book
And I want to read it again
And again
And again
100 freaking stars for this!!
These books just keep getting better and better
The story in this one was excellent! Ty and Zane go undercover, posing as a married couple
That first few chapters had me giggling all over, they were soooo funny, with Ty and Zane going on their make-overs
Just awsome! Then when they came on the cruise, oh that was just wonderfull! They had the chance to act affectionate to each other whenever they felt like it, and considering they didn't act like that before, it was kinda weird for them, but swoony for me
I LOVED every single scene with them hugging, touching, making any kind of contact
it was so sweet, I was melting throughout the book
The sex was bombastic! Yes like the song ahahahaha I mean WOW. Hottest so far
Ty was incredibly cute most of the time, he came to terms that he's in love with Zane, but it's pretty hard on him, because he knows Zane doesn't return the feelings (oh Zane when will you see the light man??
)
I wonder what will happen with the necklace??? When will he give it to him???
The ending
I couldn't believe it! I was squeeling all the time, it was so sweet and swoony and I was so glad and, and, and I don't know, I'm just like this now -
I want more!!! Can't wait to start the next book
-
This one sort of ended on a bit of fizzle for me. Was expecting a bit more to happen! Ah, well. Still a great read. Boys are undercover. LOL, when they find out what the job entails.
ZANE
TY
“He tightened his arms, not wanting Ty to move away. “It’s more than just fucking around now,” he said. “Isn’t it?” He made sure the tone of his voice emphasized that it wasn’t really a question. Ty was motionless in response. He didn’t even seem to be breathing. The silence stretched on, edging toward tension. Finally, he let out his breath quietly and lowered his head. “No,” he lied blithely, just as he’d done in a hotel in New York City over a year ago. Zane chuckled. A classic Grady response, and definitely the one he preferred to hear. A “yes” just might have given him a heart attack. He held Ty close. “You owe me.” “Owe you?” Ty repeated in a rough, questioning voice as Zane felt his heartbeat begin to speed up. “Mm hmm. How I’ve wanted you,” Zane breathed. “It scares the hell out of me.” “I know,” Ty murmured as he turned in place and nuzzled against Zane’s neck.”
One minute I am thinking that Ty is the more vulnerable in the relationship. The next minute I am thinking it is Zane. They are so cute. Love them.
Love that she mentions Talisker whiskey from Skye. Was lucky to visit there two years ago. Beautiful place. Didn't imbibe the whiskey. Left that to Himself. Off to the Isle of Arran over the Easter!"You're going to make me fuck you, aren't you?"
"Walking contradiction, ain't I?"
I'm wondering now should I take a break or just continue with these sexy guys.
Ty Grady was such an egotistical bastard, yet somehow he turned Zane on like no one else ever had.

I’ve read lots of books that are parts of series. Though I’ve enjoyed many of them, I find it difficult to complete an entire series. Sometimes the series is too long, or too much time passes between books that I pick up other books and lose interest. Sometimes the plots and structure are too formulaic and the characters show little development. Sometimes the story and characters are moving in a direction not to my liking.
So far, I’m really enjoying this series featuring FBI agents Ty Grady and Zane Garrett. The stories are fun, entertaining, suspenseful, sexy, and full of emotion. I’m tempted to read one book after the other, but feel maximum enjoyment will best be achieved by pacing myself. That way, I won’t tire of the characters, the writing style, or notice little inconsistencies.
One of the things I really enjoy is the slow buildup of Ty’s and Zane’s relationship. As partners, they work effectively together and have a high level of trust. On the personal side, however, both men have secrets and issues best not explored. There is no question the guys are in love. Their actions show it, even if the words are not forthcoming.
“Falling in love or just plain falling: they were both terrifying at any speed.”
An undercover assignment on a luxury Caribbean cruise ship gives Ty and Zane the perfect opportunity to explore their feelings while masquerading as Corbin and Del Porter, a married couple involved in the theft of numerous high-end and rare artworks. It was fun seeing Ty and Zane wear fake wedding bands and change their hairstyle, clothing and mannerisms to create a convincing cover for themselves while gathering information about Corbin and Del’s contacts. It is Corbin (Zane) who is the “brains” of the operation while Del (Ty) is there to soak up the rays and be an attractive companion. Ty and Zane get into their roles so successfully that they have a hard time distinguishing between playacting and their own feelings.
As in the last two books, there is tension, danger, sizzling romance, and relationship growth. While Ty is more open about his feelings in this story, Zane is still reticent. I hope future installments provide more insight into Zane’s past.
I’m officially hooked on Ty and Zane and looking forward to more of their adventures.
Thanks to

Have you ever tried to sleep on a round bed? All honeymoon suites seem to think this is the ultimate in romance. It isn't, as Ty and Zane found out during their undercover assignment in this book. I was cracking up every time they fell off that damn bed because I remember doing that myself. Look, you may not realize it, but you subconsciously count on your bed having straight lines. Because of this, you constantly misjudge the boundaries of the surface you are on. So, just go ahead and sprain your wrist in advance when you decide to sleep on one of these things. Save yourself the mystery of when that wrist will be sprained.
Although.. this would make a good bedspread. *weighing out pros and cons in my head*
(Con - sprained wrist, constant falling. Pro - burrito bed. I just don't know.)
So Ty and Zane are undercover as a gay, married couple taking a luxury cruise with top class accommodations and excursions. The FBI director thinks he's messing with them because neither of them are out of the closet. He has no idea that his agents are going to be rocking the hell out of that boat!
But of course there is dangerous business going on and someone is also trying to kill Ty, who, by the way, I love now. I'm not sure that Zane is good enough for him yet.
There is a lot of danger and fucking going on in this one. Which, compared to a normal cruise, which is eating and fucking, is a little extra. I also laughed that their FBI prep team sent them a gun in their luggage packed with sex toys. I could just imagine how many sex toys the luggage people on cruises see every day. I know I had a bag of them on my last cruise. Hey, I also had stretchy pants and sunscreen. It's a matter of preparation for what you will be doing: eating and fucking, with occasional bouts of drinking in the sun. *sigh* I miss cruising. Stupid virus! -
5 stars
I loved this one!!!
This series gets better and better. I loved
Cut & Run.
Sticks & Stones was a little too slow paced, but this one was just what I needed: a lot of action, suspense and funny moments. Oh and some pretty unexpected scenes. I loved Ty's bluntness!
Extremely sweet ending! Give me MORE!!! -
Liked it more than previous two books. An undercover assignment that made them act like a couple in public. It was hilarious but their relationship is now in right direction, and that's what matters. Right?

Re-read: 10.09.2021
With each re-read I am reminded as to how much I love Ty and why. He's a great character with of course some flaws (like being prone to violence) but he's so great that you overlook them. Zane on the other hand... I'm not a big fan of people with addictions because of my personal life (my brothers were addicts) so I'm harsher with him than with anyone else. Then it is also how much he holds himself back, especially from Ty. That said, it's a good read, it is, but for me, something is missing and I can't quite put my finger to it. Perhaps it is because Zane holds back his emotions?
First read review:
Hmmm.... I liked this book, I did, but it wasn't the best so far in the series. So far, that's book number two. I'm glad things finally became more personal, became deeper. I intrigued to see how thing will go for Ty Grady and Zane Garrett. As it was nice to see the 'couple' more open, more touchy and more affectionate towards each other even though they were pretending to be other people, I hope this continues in the next book. I seriously hope they don't go back to being secretive and hiding shit from each other. On to the next one! Oh, and I love Ty.Falling in love or just plain falling: they were both terrifying at any speed.

This story was fun - even with all the life-threatening situations Ty and Zane faced, which were plentiful and intense. There has always been a certain level of humour in this series, particularly in regards to Ty and Zane's mutual banter, but the funny was elevated here because of the settings and situations the guys found themselves in, and I greatly appreciated the reprieve from all things broody and violent.
The whole secret lovers going undercover as real lovers thing really worked for me, too. Not to mention that the guys are finally showing a lot more outward emotion towards each other, regardless of the fact it's initially a necessity for work.
What was my favourite part, you ask? Well...the sex scenes in this story were off the charts hot and tender, and those alone would make this story a worthwhile read, but it was Ty's love confession (which was timed to perfection!) that had me swooning all over the place. *sigh*

Re-read: November, 2017
This is one of those book series in which a re-read has served to help me absorb so many more little details and glean nuggets of information that I may have missed or overlooked the first time around. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, isn't it!? I remember originally getting frustrated at Ty and Zane and how long it took them to acknowledge/admit the depth of their feelings for one another, but now I get it - I so get it - and I wouldn't want their relationship to develop in any other way. Watching their slow-burn romance unfold is a true thing of beauty; it's hard earned, by them and by us as readers, which makes it all the more worthwhile. -
***4.5 stars for the audiobook version***
This was my first audiobook narrated by Sean Crisden and…BOY, WHAT A VOICE!!!
I loved the voices he gave the characters, especially Zane’s voice was to die for (like melting chocolate – very yummy!!!), but the Italian and Turkish accents of the side characters were also amazing. The first word that comes to my mind is authentic and I must say, Kudos Mr. Crisden! Very talented!
What dampened my pleasure a bit was the recording itself. The sound level was far too low. I should say that I mainly listen to audiobooks when I’m driving and I was sorely tempted to press my ear against the speaker of my car radio more than once to understand what was being said. Well, since this would be quite a bad idea when you don’t want to end in the roadside ditch, I had to turn up the volume so loud that the narration was sometimes a bit distorted. As a positive side effect, it was quite startling when suddenly Zane’s deep voice boomed through the speaker and I was wide awake, which is not the most inverted in the early morning. ;-)
Although Fish & Chips is not my favorite in this series, it is, was and always will be a solid five-star-read, nonetheless. Ty & Zane will always be one of my favorite couples and Ty just… rocks. -
Re-read 20th April - 21st April 2018.
In this book Ty and Zane are undercover taking the roles of married couple Del and Corbin Porter.
Ty is arm candy and is therefore plucked, waxed, massaged, manicured, tanned and bleached to look like Del Porter. And you can imagine just how much he enjoyed that.
Zane doesn’t escape completely as he’s styled to look like Corbin.
It soon becomes apparent that things are far more complicated and dangerous than they expected.
I love Ty and Zane and I enjoyed this book but I have to admit it’s not my favourite.
Ty’s T.shirts continue and my personal favourite makes an appearance a scarecrow with ‘out standing in his field’ -
4.5 Stars!!!
My boy’s Ty and Zane are back and better than ever! This is probably my favorite book in the series this far.
Ty and Zane are back to work, and now they are going undercover last minute on a holiday cruise... the kicker? They are going undercover as an openly married gay couple- Corbin and Del Porter. They have to go through ‘makeovers’ and the whole nine yards. Ty’s transformation is pretty great.
Ty and Zane’s relationship was much different in this book than the first two. I loved how openly affectionate they were able to be in public, on the ship etc. I hope eventually we will get to a point where they can be like this ALL of the time! Of course there was some suspense, mystery, etc, and this book was just as hilarious as the first two-
“You’re so freaking romantic. I don’t know how I keep my pants on.”
But the romance and the sex were stepped up a huge notch!
“It’s not very often I could say ‘you can have anything you want, baby’,” Zane practically purred. “But now is one of those times.”
Ty smiled serenely, trying to keep the hint of melancholy out of it. He knew Zane meant what he said.
“Only thing I want is you,” he whispered.
Can you say SWOON! Ah! I just love these two!
Ty and Zane were so sweet on each other in this book- I just couldn’t get enough. I felt like book 2 was missing some of the heat, well let me tell you- this one MORE than made up for it! It was HOT! HOT! HOT!
I like Zane a lot, but Ty Grady is one of my favorite fictional characters. I just adore him. He is so charming, funny, sweet and sexy! THE BEST part of the book: I was so happy at this moment, I was crying tears of joy! So beautiful!
With every book, Ty and Zane’s relationship grows and they get more ‘in tune’ with their feelings for each other. Even though someone was after them etc, that part of the story definitely took a back seat to the relationship portion. I can’t wait to see what the next book has in store!
Lets sum it up:
♥ Hilarious
♥ Sweet
♥ Sexy
♥ HOT
♥ AMAZING!
This series is a must read for all m/m lovers! -
Ok here it goes...
Ty and Zane are assigned on another case.... honestly don't care... horrible I know, but I don't read them because of their cases anymore (like I ever did), no no no no no.... I read them because of them! Because of their conversations, their kisses, their little gentle touches, their lust for each other and of course let us not forget about their hot sex!
Now let me confess something... their every scene, whether verbal or physical has made me have... *cough*
Their assignment: pretend to be a married gay couple... enough said... yep that was funny :)
They had to get into their roles and boy they did! Ty was acting a submissive one while Zane the alpha possessive one! After that I love Zane even more!!!!
Both of them using this roles to say/do things they wouldn't normally say/do to each other!
OMG The POOL SCENE!!!! *drooling*
Tys SHOW for Zane!!!! Now seriously how am I suppose to function after reading that?!?!?! That shit is burned in my brain!!!! And it's on repeat all the time!!!!
"You ever wanna get f*cked hard, now you know what to do to get it."
And then it keeps coming again!!! After admitting both there isn't anybody else for long time... please lord have mercy on me!!!! PLEASE CALL THE FIRE-DEPARTMENT TO COME AND AIM THEIR HOSES ON ME TO TURN THAT FIRE BURNING INSIDE ME OFF!
Their pillow talk is so funny and so cute and they are so f*cking adorable!
And then finally! Those three little words... At least one of them found the courage... So shy and so scared....
I was BURSTING WITH HAPPINESS!!!
And officially I'm f*cked... addicted... there's no turning back any more! I'm marked with Ty and Zane forever and boy I like it! -
The Cut & Run series takes to the high seas and I'm struggling not to make a "love boat" reference!
(All Spoilers are Hidden)
Ty & Zane take their first major assignment since the Tri-State Case: Go undercover, impersonating an "out and proud" married couple who are involved in an international smuggling ring...“Now understand: this may put you both in a few uncomfortable situations,” McCoy went on sincerely. “But you've both got UC experience, and I’m sure you’d both rather have to kiss each other than be shot at,” he joked. Ty cleared his throat and tried to restrain a smile.
It should have been a walk in the park - gathering information while enjoying themselves (and each other) on a two-week Caribbean Christmas Cruise... Unfortunately, nothing ever comes easy for our favorite Special Agents...
I have noted in previous reviews that there is a cinematic quality to this series. It has a rhythm which sucks you in quickly and keeps you interested from beginning to end.
Fish & Chips was particularly outstanding in this arena, and established itself as my favorite book in the series so far.
ZANE GARRETT
FBI Special Agent, undercover as Corbin Porter
"I wish I was what you believe," he whispered. "I wish I was what you need me to be."
TY GRADY
FBI Special Agent, undercover as Del Porter
"Zane," he said hoarsely. Then he stopped and looked down again quickly before meeting Zane's eyes [...] with determination. "You're everything I need you to be," he whispered.
The case necessitated the usually guarded partners being openly affectionate in public. It was easy for the line between reality and their undercover roles become blurred. He wondered if it was for show or if it was real. Zane hated that this case was forcing him to ask himself that over and over.
The masks they were wearing for the case allowed them to be more honest with each other than they had ever allowed themselves to be. It made for some very entertaining moments... Add to that the following:
Impersonating suspects they know practically nothing about,
more alone time than they know what to do with,
extreme makeovers, tramp stamps, sex toys,
conspicuously absent FBI backup,
a laundry list of "unknowns",
old habits dying hard,
& murder attempts.
...It's a hell of an entertaining combination!
I'm not going to lie... With Ty & Zane's track record I was expecting some combination of:
AND
Let's face it; they have a bit of a reputation for attracting near death experiences... While there was an abundance of action and suspense,
Fish & Chips was much more focused on the romance building between Ty & Zane.
Forced to stick to the itinerary of a married couple, the partners had no choice but to spend some quality time together. And while that certainly translated to more steam in this book, it also meant that they finally got a chance to TALK... That was the best bit of all...
A NOTICE TO THE DETRACTORS OF THIS BOOK:
I hear your complaints, allow me to address them...
Was the case a little outlandish? Yes.
Was it awfully convenient? Yes.
Was everything completely plausible? Probably not.
However! I don't think you're asking the right questions...
Is this Fiction? Yes.
Is this book infinitely entertaining? Hell Yes.
I don't care to do a little willful suspension of disbelief... I'm all for it. Fiction is fiction. I'd rather have a badass plot-line with a touching romance than a bland but factual story line. Some free advice: If you're especially concerned with your books being factual, stick with reading non-fiction.

Fish & Chips is book 3 in the Cut & Run series. After their mountain disaster, Ty and Zane are back on the job. They’re assigned to impersonate Del (Ty) and Corbin (Zane) Porter. Del and Corbin Porter are gay and married, and they are members of an international smuggling ring. Ty and Zane are going on a merry Christmas cruise in the Caribbean. As the story unfolds, Ty and Zane have to deal with a few incidents, and they have to realize that there’s just more to being partners than watching each other’s backs.
After Ty and Zane beat the hell out of each other in the gym (would anyone expect anything else??)...their boss reveals the following:
[...]”And Grady, we’ll be needing you to make just a few...alterations...to your appearance before you go,” he said as he studied Ty critically.
“What the hell are you talking about, McCoy? It’s not like he can gain fifty pounds overnight,” Zane said crossly.
“Nothing like that. Some hot wax and a little bleach, and he’ll be set,” McCoy continued, barely keeping himself from laughing now.
“Hot wax?” Ty asked in alarm. He heard Zane stifle a snort.
“Del Porter is what you would call...arm candy, McCoy drawled with a smirk.
“Oh hell,” Zane muttered, leaning back, rubbing his hand over his face, and shifting in his chair uncomfortably. Ty glanced at him, not following.
“I see that Garrett has figured it out,” McCoy said, his voice nearly bubbly. Ty shook his head in confusion.
“I didn’t mention that?” McCoy asked in feigned innocence as he flipped through his notes as if he needed to check his information. “Corbin and Del Porter aren’t brothers, gentlemen. They’re lovers. Legally married, in fact.” He reached out and placed two silver rings on the desk in front of them. “Go ahead and put those on,” he instructed. Zane went totally still, his eyes locked on the jewelry. Then his chin rose as his gaze shifted to McCoy. “Are you sure this is necessary?” he asked flatly.[...]
I liked Fish & Chips. Ty and Zane achieved to a new level in their 'relationship' – a new level of trust, intimacy, and understanding. They had to deal with a few emotional issues. I’m not absolutely sure anymore, but I think it was about 60 % into the story when they had a really serious talk and it was...more profound than before.
Ty accepts the fact that he has fallen in love with Zane, while Zane is still in denial, or at least not looking too closely at his own emotions. But it seems that he cares and feels very strongly for Ty. Yeah, men AND feelings – a very difficult topic!
When they have a get-together, it’s not only about f*cking anymore, Ty and Zane are showing more emotions and their sexual encounters were never as hot, intense, and passionate as in this story. Gosh, they were heating up the sheets and then some! Again, loved their banter! They’re fighting and insulting each other as always and well, they were making amends afterward. Their relationship grows slowly and steadily and they do mature in every book, that’s for sure.
Read another few 'nice' lines:
[...]“I would rather deal with Dolce and Gabbana than the guys with guns,” Ty claimed.
“It is not Dolce and Gabbana!” Norina cried as she waved her purse threateningly. “White ostrich leather hobo, it is the only one of its kind, and look! Ruined becauswe of your face!”
“I’m sorry!” Ty cried helplessly, holding up his hands to ward off more attacks.
“Not helping!” Zane hissed at them, and Bianchi managed to calm Norina enough to save Ty another whack over the head with the ostrich leather.[...]
Guys, it’s a real pleasure to reading your stories! They are engrossing and very, very entertaining!
Enjoy! -
Fantastic reread! Ty and Zane are larger than life, so well suited together both personally and professionally! I so hated when it got tense between them, but I loved vulnerable and shy Ty baring his heart to Zane and Zane finally starting on the road to being the best he can be. Hilarious, passionate, heart felt and of course filled with action! My favorite dynamic duo - Ty and Zane!
***
This series just keeps getting better and better! It's hard to make a cruise vacation interesting but this was fantastic. Ty and Zane transform into a married couple and the case of simple gathering information gets way out hand.
After settling into new office and new partnership both Ty and Zane become restless. New undercover case is just what they need. But as always what should have been a simple task turns into dangerous game of trying not to be killed and keeping their covers intact. In close quarters lines blur when playing a role turns into real feelings. Things are not what they seem, people are not who they should be and no help is coming.
I loved Ty here especially. Even with all his sarcasm and stubbornness he gives Zane another chance, he tries to understand and makes Zane believe in himself. Zane seems to lose his self-confidence but Ty is there to pick him up. They have both tender and passionate moments, angry outbursts and times of doubt even in each other but when the push comes to shove they have each other's back.
I loved the humor, the adventures they had and how they could simply enjoy each other without fear of discovery. I had so much fun reading this. Throughout the book little snippets of information showed different sides of both Zane and Ty's personalities. The book was fast-paced, suspenseful and heart-felt. Loved it! I highly recommend it! -
I liked the beginning. Then I was really bored until 45%. I absolutely LOVED the last 40%. Feel free to tell me "I told you so".

3.5 stars upgraded to solid 4 stars after sleeping over it.
this has nothing to do with finding my kindle beneath me when I woke up today morning
Liked this one more than the first two books in the series. Though I did find it a bit lacking in action but there were some major headways in the relationship between the MCs, so its allgooey mushygood.
Ah Zane's still my fave, he is sooo f##*ed up! :D
-
Reread 10/8/17 and 10/25/20
My favorite of the first 5 books....until Stars & Stripes was published.
One of the best of the series! I couldn't care less that it's a cheesy set up of them pretending to be a gay couple while undercover. It is executed so perfectly for them to finally pull it all to the surface. The affection and the communication in this one was amazing!
Perfection! On to the next one with Jewel!
~BR reread with Jewel - doing the whole series over from start to finish! ~ -
ANOTHER WILD RIDE WITH TY AND ZANE!!!!!!! CINQUE STELLE
(Un’altra corsa selvaggia con Ty e Zane… fuck… I think that’s Italian!)
What can I say… I just cannot get enough of these guys!!! Utterly addicting!!!!
“You can never have too much awesome”-Ty
This story has Ty and Zane back to working together as partners after their short mandatory vacation time in Sticks & Stones. They are working out of Baltimore, MD, Ty’s home base, and have been getting quite used to working together, and being together. While both guys are starting to feel more and more dependent on the other, they both still seem to be holding back their feelings, still unsure, and afraid to mess up what they have with each other.
Falling in love or just plain falling: they were both terrifying at any speed.
True to form, the story opens up with a brutal sparing session between the partners at the FBI training center, where as usual they take it too far…they do seem to really enjoy beating the shit out of each other!!! Strange foreplay for these closet dwellers.
It is shortly after that, that they receive their latest assignment. It is an undercover operation, where they must take on the identity of two criminals who have recently been apprehended by the FBI.
Corbin Porter and his gay husband Del Porter have recently been arrested, and are being detained by the bureau. They are apparent antiquities dealers who were going to be attending a meeting aboard a luxury cruise ship sailing in the Caribbean. They were to be meeting with several other large players in the industry, and were to be staking out a new acquisition in Tortola.
Ty and Zane will be taking on their identities to gather intelligence for the bureau, in order to bring down this illegal smuggling ring. It is an international intelligence operation. Several of the other players are from Italy, and one is apparently Turkish. All are dangerous. And none have met in person.
Ty and Zane were not only going to have to alter their appearances to be convincing in this UC operation, but they were also going to be pretending to be openly gay and in love, and convincing enough to not be discovered. Their lives would depend on their performance. They were not happy about this, at first… but it was an intriguing idea to both of them, and allowed them both to experience what an openly gay relationship would be like for them.
They would be away on this cruise for two weeks… alone with only one small backup team for emergencies. It would take all of their skills to accomplish their task, impersonating accents, understanding other languages, all while displaying their loving relationship openly and flamboyantly.
I just LOVED this storyline. It was a joy to see these guys openly show affection for the other. Both feeling for the first time what an open relationship would be like for them. I think it completely threw them out of their comfort zone, and while they both felt the sting from many judgmental eyes, I think they both realized that it didn’t bother them as much as they thought it would.
“So your plan is to liquor me up, get me all sweaty and worked up, then take me back to the cabin?” Ty asked him, his tone placid. “Oh, it may not have been my plan before, but it sure as hell is now,” Zane agreed wholeheartedly.
If he had a choice in his night’s companion, he’d much rather have the aroused and pliable Ty from this afternoon than the cranky, fractious man of this evening. “I like it,” Ty said approvingly.
I loved seeing their playful acting in the beginning turn into real life tenderness for each other. They both found out that they cared more for each other than either of them previously realized. Ty seems to be falling hard for Zane, but is still fearful of putting his feelings out there. He knows how Zane feels about relationships, and doesn’t want to risk what they have together. At the same time, Zane is quickly realizing his overwhelming dependence on his partner, and his growing feelings towards him, but is also afraid to make the jump.
“Zane,” Ty repeated desperately as he stood and pulled Zane closer to the edge before climbing over the rail again. “I love you,” he blurted, grip tightening on Zane’s hand in case he tried to pull away. “Please trust me.”
This book was brilliantly put together. It had all of the elements of a suspenseful thriller, with never-ending action, adrenaline sports entwined with covert murder attempts, a mysterious take over scheme, and incredibly hot and frequent sex for our lead characters!!! It also threw in a budding love relationship, and some incredibly tense and emotional scenes dealing with Zane’s alcohol addiction.
“I wish I was what you believe,” he whispered. “I wish I was what you need me to be.”
Finally, Ty swallowed hard and looked back up. “Zane,” he said hoarsely. Then he stopped and looked down again quickly before meeting Zane’s eyes again with determination. “You’re everything I need you to be,” he whispered.
Oh… and did I mention incredibly HOT and FREQUENT SEX!!!! Off the CHARTS!!!! If I wasn’t in love with them before, which I was… I am totally LOST to them now!!!! Oh and the QUOTES...the QUOTES... the QUOTES!!!! SO MANY AWESOME LINES!!!! I'd literally have to include half the book to capture them all!!! BRILLIANT!!!
“You’d seriously rather argue credentials than fuck me?” Ty asked with an incredulous laugh.
I highly recommend this book…and the series. I am in awe, and completely addicted. I cannot wait to get to the next book!!!!

4.5 Stars
As far as I’m concerned this book can be summed up in this one gif . . . . .
Holy sploosh.
This starts off with Ty and Zane having the sexiest sparring match in the history of pornography only to find out it is going to be the tropiest yum yum of all tropey yum yums and the only thing better than a fake relationship trope which is the:
WE ARE IN A SECRET RELATIONSHIP, BUT NOW HAVE TO PRETEND TO BE IN AN ACTUAL RELATIONSHIP FOR OUR JOBS!!!
And in case you aren’t familiar with these books, that means these two alpha male special agent Feds are going undercover as a married gay couple to catch some sort of potential art thievery ring and the whole thing takes place on a cruise ship. I don’t think my heart can take it. Or my underwear drawer. I was flying through panties faster than a toupee in a hurricane!
I will absolutely be reading the other books in this series. -
Final rating: 5/5 stars
“Why tell me that way?”
Ty shrugged one sore shoulder. “Seemed like a good idea at the time,” he answered, embarrassed.
“I was pretty much blind, deaf, and scared out of my mind.” Zane admitted. “But I… heard you.”
That's it. This series is my official favorite ever! Each sequel gets better and better! I didn't like this book, i freaking LOVED IT!!!! The whole experience was WEIRDLY AWESOME!!!!!!!!!
I loved the idea for this book, being under an undercover mission pretending to be a gay married couple was so much fun that i loled, and loled, and loled....without stopping. And it sure was awesome to read and see their reactions because of that. And all of the changes they had to go through...yummy ♥
Anyway, everything was just awesomely done. I loved how in this book we get to finally understand their feelings to each other. But neither of them knew whether it was the person they were acting to be, or other way around. And so, they confused each other, annoyed each other, scared each other to death, and loved each other more than anything else. Too bad that both of them are scared to admit it -.-“It’s not very often I could say ‘you can have anything you want, baby’,” Zane practically purred. “But now is one of those times.”
Ty smiled serenely, trying to keep the hint of melancholy out of it. He knew Zane meant what he said.
“Only thing I want is you,” he whispered.► CHARACTERS:
♦ Ty:
I freaking adore that guy. His new role suited him just fine and yet he didn't want to admit it at first :P But i loved it how he and Zane could just be someone else for a moment and forget everything and enjoy their time together....And Ty seemed to me tamer than he usually is...Which scared Zane and kind of scared me as well :D
♦ Zane:
His new role of possessive husband really fit him well. I didn't know whether to laugh or just be amazed because of him. I didn't approve some of his actions, but Ty beat some sense in him later ♥....► OVERALL:

*3rd read 2020*
Still one of my favorites of my favorite series. I couldn’t possibly love them more! 🥰
*Re-read 2018*
Just as intense and wonderful as the first time, one of my favorites of the series. I love these guys so fecking much! #SoMuchSwoon
*1st read 2012*
You know, reading the blurb for this, I really thought it was going to be funny. And don't get me wrong, of course there was lots of funny mixed in. It IS Ty & Zane, and neither of them will ever pass up an opportunity to needle or aggravate the other. *Grins* Their dynamic never gets old.
Ty & Zane finally get to go back out in the field. I would have given anything for this to have been a movie so I could see Ty's face when he discovers that he & Zane are going undercover impersonating a married gay couple to gather intel on an international smuggling ring. Bwahahaha, especially when Ty gets a look at Del Porter, the husband that he has to pose as. God, I died. DIED laughing.
With everything that I learned about what Ty & Zane are feeling in
Sticks & Stones I was hoping they'd have plenty of time on their own, away from everyday prying eyes, to see what might develop with them. And plenty does. Ty & Zane continue to slay me. Rarely have I ever read a developing relationship between two main characters that is as complicated, intense, as filled with emotional landmines or as able to pull my heartstrings quite so hard as these two. *Sigh*
And for an assignment that is supposed to be not much of anything but surveillance and intel gathering, wouldn't you know it? Of course there's somebody on board trying to kill them and they have no clue who it could be or why. Despite that, there's still a lot of sweetness to make you smile and lots of blazing hot sexiness to melt your ass to a puddle wherever you sit reading.
And the ending? My heart still has the swoons. LoveloveLOVE them! Since they've finally admitted to what's between them, I can definitely call it a romance now. The bonus for that is, there is just so much more than a romance to this series. Thanks to Monique for leading me to these awesome books. :)
Still love the authors' style. The writing is clean and always flows so easily. The action is perfectly paced, whether it's running for their lives or conversation between Ty & Zane. In 3 books it's never dragged at all. The dialogue is realistic and believeable and sometimes so heart-clenching I tend to forget where I'm at. I'm particularly in love with the way they can do something I don't see a lot of these days, and that's their ability to satisfactorily close the book without relying on a BIG, FAT CLIFFIE that makes you want to rip your hair out. Thank God.
Ok, so I confess. I have spent the past half hour going back & forth between Amazon and B&N trying to talk myself out of *into* buying the next one right now. I'm trying to save the last 3 books for while I'm off over the holidays, plus I have all these other books sitting here that I need to read before buying MORE. I want paperbacks I can hold in my hand this time, no Kindle reads. *kicks rock* It sucks being responsible and grownup. *sulks like a 12 year old*
*Sigh* Seriously love this series so far. Read it, you won't regret the time. -
I have noted in previous reviews that there is a cinematic quality to this series. It has a rhythm which sucks you in quickly and keeps you interested from beginning to end. Fish & Chips was particularly outstanding in this arena, and established itself as my favorite book in the series so far.

WOOOOO BOY
WHAT. A. RIDE.
This book was such a fun read! It was so much better than the second book as we get more Ty and Zane in this one (with no cockblockers in between thank god) and the sex . God fucking damn, the motherfucking sex scenes though.
GURL.
If I could have died and gone to heaven and died and gone to unicorn land, that was how it would feel like while reading those steamy hot scenes. Just.
Not to mention we get a closer look to the development of Zane and Ty's relationship, and let me tell you, that shit is gold. I love French fries (I mean, I really love French fries), but I would readily trade all the French fries in the world for more of those gentle and sweet moments between Ty and Zane.
I am obsessed with these two. Like these reviews aren't even reviews anymore tbh. Most of the time it is just me rambling about Ty and Zane and I regret nothing lmao. This is my life now and I LOVE IT!!!
In this book there isn't a lot of action or suspense, at least compared to the past two books. I think this one is pretty chill as far as their mission goes. To be honest, I think this one feels way more like a vacation than their last vacation did, if that makes any sense.
In Fish & Chips, it's more about going deeper into how Zane and Ty feels towards each other and seeing their relationship develop into something more than just lust fueled moments. For me, I ain't complaining. But then again, I don't have much complaints when it comes to Ty and Zane. I mean, who needs action when you have honest heart-to-heart-conversations and tender moments?
Not me :P
Plus, a big shout out to all my GR friends for putting up with my crazy ass for fangirling and gushing nonstop about this series (I am serious, it is that bad) and not bashing me in the head for all my updates on this series that keeps clogging up their feed lmao. I appreciate and love every single one of you lovely and wonderful human beings <3

4.5 stars. I liked this book best of the series so far, for several reasons. First, I think I've found the right way to read them. You have to be in a kind of zen go-with-the-flow mood. You can't ask why the FBI would consider sending two agents deep undercover and giving them back-up but would not show them pictures of the people (so they don't inadvertently shoot them) or provide any way to identify or contact or even signal distress to that back-up, and the agents unquestioningly accept that as reasonable. Or why the FBI would hide their weapons for passing security and not tell them precisely which weapons and where so they can get at them in a hurry if things go bad from the start or... Zen state, definitely, like watching a James Bond movie.
This book is also better written. The POV shifts are fewer and smoother (and perhaps more familiar.) And they suffer no major injuries that are ignored three pages later. The two men finally seem settled into their characters and develop slowly with recognizable differences. (Both are scared of heights, but Zane walks away and Ty jumps off.) The relationship is becoming deeper, more tender and yet still hot. Zane's addictions and the toll they take are given the weight they should carry. Over all, just a wonderful slide deeper into the world of these two men. -
5 Huge Stars for a very romantic and steamy book about the lovely couple Ty & Zane.
I'm in the middle of a large read requests for M/M romances right now. Just a little more than a month ago I read my first romance book about "boys who love boys". Now I'm stuck in this genre and what isn't better than another book about the this two gorgeous boys, Ty and Zane.Ty ~ bent to kiss his shoulder, and then mowed slowly to lean more of his weight against Zane's body and whisper into his ear. "You're so easy."
~ "Guess you've got my number," Zane said hoarsely.
These "Cut & Run" novels are perhaps the best form of an epic love story. So simple - the looks, the acts, the unspoken feelings and the words - make it to a slow build-up great love story. As a reader, I gasp and my heart knot of fear that the two boys, Ty and Zane, will not find the words and say what needs to be said. To get his partner to understand, that what they have together, is love and not just sex and attraction.
In this third book are this both FBI agents on a Christmas cruise to Caribien. They are undercover and are playing a hitch marry gay couples, Mr and Mr Porter. Because the actual couple is completely open about their lifestyle, the boys now get the chance and are expected to cuddle with each other openly and appear as a married couple in love. This part of this story is absolutely wonderful. A total bliss for a born romantic like me. I love that they are holding hands, cuddling and kissing everywhere on the ship. Yum! Their lives should be just as cute always and forever....Zane / Mr Porter ~
“You are mine,” he asserted in that sharpened, confident-sounding drawl. “I know it; you know it. And so will anyone else who looks at you.”
The question of how this two men could live together, in our still quite homophobic world and society, shadows ower the story in this book. Will ever those two men "dare" to go hand in hand and live with each other openly as a couple. Are they prepared to release the latches so far? Is it possible based on the work of the FBI agents. Do they want it?....
Like in book 1 and 2, happens a number of nasty incidents around these two agents and I'm on the edge all the time. I know it will be four or five more novels in this series - and both of my heroes will survive - but I'm anyways (yes - stupid and completely illogical) nervous and my heart is pounding.
As always, it's a lot of good dialogue, it's funny statements, witty replys, loving words and I'm smiling a lot. It's always quick shifts between full adventure action, wonderful artful dialogue and tender hot love scenes. Meanwhile it's much, that is of importance for the continued love story, which are not said (written) explicit - the reader (me) can create their own image and conclusion - that is what MAKES this a great read for me."You ask because...?"
Ty tilted his head slightly, his eyes not leaving Zane's as he considered the question. ”Because there hasn't been anyone but you in a long time. And I don't think there will be," he answered bluntly.
~
"Good," Zane whispered, ....
I have to admit that I sometimes find it difficult to create as much interest to the FBI investigation, the opponents and all the ingenious devices of the adventure elements in these books. For me, this is mostly pleasurable reading about two men and their romance. It's sweet, tender and lot of steamy attraction between the two. The "bedroom scenes" are so tenderness described and are really sexy and hot. It's all just yummy for me.
If you, who are reading this review, havn't already understand that I am full of admiration and love for Ty and Zane, the ”Cut & Run" series and this two talented authors, I say it out loud again: I love this!
I LIKE - I love!
