As luck would have it, Kanade has found two kindred spirits in her fellow school mates: Namiki, a cynical senior who's got a better grip on his futureviewing power; and Arou, Kanade's boyfriend, who has the opposite power of being able to see past events.

Burned by childhood experiences of being hated and feared because of their seerlike abilities, the trio has an unspoken pact to keep their secret from the rest of the world. However, Kanade, the most proactive of the bunch, has gotten slightly overconfident about using her power to aid people covertly. Through a careless mistake, she reveals her hidden "ace" to the high school doctor, who has a hidden agenda of his own

"You have nothing to be afraid of, Kanade. Especially not people!"

Well, this volume made me cry. :p

Seriously though, I really really enjoyed this volume! Maybe not quite as high as the first, but definitely right under it because that opening chapter about Kanade's childhood was SO good! The fear, worry, and concern felt deeply tangible, and was super touched by how this story continues to show that nothing is set in stone. We have the power to change our choices each and every day and don't need to let fear of tomorrow rob our joy in the present.

Such good stuff and that only continued with later chapters, though the chapter involving the older gentleman definitely made me want to cry. I think those moments with Arou were really eye-opening because I have no idea how he was able to still smile and listen. Seeing Kanade be there for him and tell him that she likes him just the way he is is another scene that made me tear up as well!

Those final few pages were incredibly sweet because of everything that took place in this volume! Our leads have such a beautiful relationship that I wish was a little more physical in the sense they occasionally kiss or hold hands, but I'm reminded that is not all romance is. These two have a deeper bond because of their secret, yes, but they seem to have a genuine understanding of one another where words aren't always needed. It's really moving and I hope we will continue to see more of that!

Namaki continues to be Namaki. :p He is steadily growing as a character and have really enjoyed seeing that even if I just want to push him away from our leads at the same time. LOL! I definitely liked how he willingly helped someone and hope that means he might do it again!

Overall, another moving and touching volume that left me thankful it went back to a lot of the heart that was very prevalent in the first volume!

(Also, I actually read the short story at the end! LOL! First one of the series I've read and I liked it!)

Such a neat and interesting story. I like their expressions. The one shot story at the end, In The Rain, is pretty cool too.

I liked seeing a little different side to Arou - he seems deeper and more real in the final chapter of this volume. Still a great series overall!

EDIT to add: In my re-reading I paid more attention to Kanade and Arou's relationship. I love how it's progressing and how comfortable they are with each other. I like how they aren't characterized by so much doubt and uncertainty that we see in other manga. They understand what they are to each other. This doesn't mean that they don't have their moments. It just makes the whole thing feel so much more real.

I love reading this series before bed. It gives me a lighthearted feeling that makes it so much easier to fall asleep.

This is such a great older manga series! I wish more people knew about it!

And more of the past unravels as was hinted at in the second volume. I honestly loved the character development that we see in this volume.

In this third volume, we get to know Kanade's grandfather and mother (where is her father, I wonder...).

Kanade's grandfather, Gen, was a former firefighter. He was a cool and tough old guy (I bet he's handsome when he's young! :D). One day, little girl Kanade foresaw that her grandpa was going to die in a fire and she told him about it. However, that doesn't stop grandpa from going into the fire to save a baby.

Kanade's mother seems to be a fun and friendly woman with a good sense of humour. She looks so young people would think she's actually Kanade's sister instead of her mother :))

The in the rain was super cute too! In this one you get some background on Kanadea's family which is nice. Very cute once again.

    3.5 Stars!

I love the old manga styles. The new computer ones are too perfect.
