  "There're tons of things we can't do ourselves, right? And that's WHY we're helped out. If someone or something can lend you a helping hand, great, I say! After all we're all in this together!"
  
  WOW! I feel like there is so much to unpack in this volume! It's hard to think about everything that took place because there was just so much happening (not in an overwhelming way though!) and unsure of what to talk about first!
  
  I guess first, I LOVED the beach chapter! It was even better when the doggie was on the scene too! Though seeing what some guys said to Arou was definitely upsetting, it DID result in a special hug later so I guess it was "okay"?
  
  It's amazing how this volume really was very much focused on Arou and how we see more and more behind the smile he always has! I am curious how the developments in this volume will affect characters and events later on though!
  
  The one thing I really really loved is how Kanade was able to encourage Arou and that he doesn't need to be afraid, that he's not alone. He has people standing beside him who care for him and his well being and will always be there for him. That was a pivotal moment later because when Arou COULD have been afraid he chose not to be. He reminded himself of Kanade's words and used that to fuel him.
  
  Not only that, that same conversation would help him say his own powerful words I shared in the quote at the beginning of this review. I thought it was very moving because asking for help is never a bad thing. Never NEEDING help is a bad thing. We're really all in this together! <3
  
  Lastly, I LOVED the realization Arou has that he is his own self. He has a gift and has been "chosen," but no one can tell him how to use that gift. Other people may feel he is using it badly or not at all, but we all have special abilities and use them the best way that we feel. No one can ever tell us that's wrong and loved how Arou showed that with his words and actions.
  
  This volume has been one of my favorites and makes me excited to continue reading! I think every volume has continued to get better and better!

  So intriguing and fun. I love this series and can't wait to see what comes next!

  I love how this series tackles love and relationships with honesty. Each of the characters has past wounds from how their family and friends reacted to their powers when they were younger. In each other, they find someone who understands and accepts them. Something so simple and so powerful. In this volume we see just what Arou will do for Kanade. We also learn how much Namiki needs the acceptance and friendship Kanade offers.

  Kanade, Aro, and Namiki (and his dog), along with Eri (Kanade's bestfriend) and her boyriend Ezawa, are going to the beach for vacation. Aro and Namiki are fighting over Kanade's attention, but Kanade dotes on the dog more... LOL
  During the evening, there's an accident involving Kanade and Namiki. Kanade slips and falls from the reef into the sea. Namiki who tries to help her falls as well and they are swept into some kind of cave. Aro looks for them in panic. He tries to "see" the past by touching the sea, and as a result, he fuses with the sea to reach the cave where Kanade and Namiki are in.
  
  At the end of the chapter, my favorite line from Aro to Kanade is:
  I hope that you'll always smile by my side forever.
  So sweet! >_<
  
  In the next chapter, we get to know a new character, Honma. He's Aro's friend from middle school and we soon learn that he befriends Aro just to make use of his ability to see the past.

  Arou - I'm more in love with him as this series progresses. He's just...too perfect of a character. Tragic and pensive, and yet so caring for those around him. Then Namiki...he needs them both more than he realizes I think. This is such a strange and beautiful friendship in this series. Really love how it's developings.
  
  Final note: Can I just say I love anything from the POV of Namiki's dog? It's my favorite part of this book!

  Though I worry a bit when shojo focuses too much on the male lead's angst, I liked the look at Arou's backstory here and how it played out.
