Falcon Quinn survived the first term at the Academy for Monsters along with his monstrous friends Max, Pearl, Mortia, and the rest. He has finally discovered his monster nature and is working hard to embrace it. But what does it mean to be an Angel, exactly? Having wings is great, when Falcon can remember to use them, but with parents who are the leaders of two warring groups—the monsters and the guardians—Falcon still feels torn in half.

When his monster friends begin to doubt his loyalty to the monster world and his only option is flight to Guardian Island, where his mother rules and he is a prince, he'll see the guardians as well as his monster friends in a whole new light. He will also have to decide if Jonny Frankenstein can be trusted and find a way to save his friend Megan from her imprisonment on Guardian Island, not to mention find a way to stop the monsters and guardians from fighting, once and for all.

Bestselling author Jennifer Finney Boylan continues the heroic and often hilarious tale of Falcon Quinn and his band of monster friends in this second installment of the hair-raising and sidesplitting adventure of monstrous proportions.

Falcon Quinn and the Crimson Vapor (Falcon Quinn, #2) Reviews

    Very good

  • Vivian

I loved this book. It was full of mysteries and I love mysteries. It is the same as the first book, I don't have an age group, it is really for the people who like mysteries and monsters.

  • Jihan Fahira

I like the first book more (Falcon Quinn and the Black Mirror), the second book felt kinda boring...

  • Andrew Marr

This is the second book of a series & "Falcon Quinn and the Black Mirror should be read first. The first book threw Falcon into the middle of tensions between the monsters and the Guardians who are dedicated to exterminating the monsters. Falcon's father if headmaster of the monster school and his mother is head of the Guardians. Nice mix. Sort of what it would have been like to be a child of Romeo & Juliet if his parents' death hadn't ended the feud. It's a classic mirror-image situation strengthened by the several monsters having a corresponding double among the Guardians . This is an effective touch but could use some explanation in terms of the "logic" of this novel's world. Maybe that will come later. The monsters are lots of fun and some serious and important issues about human & monster strife goes down easily and hopefully deeply in the fun. The two books here make a good duplex with a fairly well rounded off ending to this book. There is, however, at least one more book to come to look forward to.

Just like the first book, this was a good book as well. Even though Falcon has discovered what he is, he still doesn't seem to fit in at monster school, and neither does he completely fit in at the school for monster-slayers either. He realizes that there is not much difference between the monsters and the paladins, and if they only got to nkow each other they would stop fighting. But can he do that before all-out war breaks out?
Maddison O'very was nice enough to lend me her nook so that I could read this book. =)

  • Dana

This is the second book about Falcon Quinn, who is half monster and half guardian - the beings whose goal it is to eliminate monsters.
Caught in the middle of the battle between the monsters and the guardians is Falcon Quinn, angel, who is both and neither. Will he be able to fit in with either group, or will he have to join the filtchers, a group of outcasts? Can the monsters and the guardians ever get along? Perhaps they will have to take a walk in each other's shoes for that to happen.

  • Terry

As we were nearing the end of this book, my daughter (11) asked if there were any more books about Falcon Quinn and his friends.

Given its setting and humor, our parent reviewer describes this as
"Monsters, Inc. with a pre-teen plot."

  • Geneva

I loved this book! It is very funny. Falcon is half monster and half angel. His friends are monsters. Max is a Bigfoot. Monita is a zombie. There are many more. In this he goes to the angel's island where he's a prince and his mom is a queen.

  • Tristan

I like this book and series, interesting concepts, but I hate cliffhanger endings. I'm not seeing any word of a third book, so im taking out my dissappointment on the star rating. I really hope a third one is coming out, only then will I revise the rating to its actual 4.75 rating.

I loved this book because the plot was clever, and it was a nice sequel. I do think that some of the information was different from the first book.

I’m starting too lose the fun in the book. This series has really gone down through and it’s only the second book. I don’t suggest at all.
