As their careers catch fire, Grace and Jack -- everyone’s favorite foul-mouthed, funny, and feisty couple -- find themselves on opposite coasts. Grace has landed in New York City, where she loves being onstage again, particularly because she’s playing a fabulous character in a musical written by her old college flame, Michael. Their rekindled friendship makes exploring the city that much more fun.

Wait, it’s just friendship, right?

Meanwhile, in L.A., Jack can scarcely keep up with the swirling throngs of women who track him everywhere he goes, the endless press appearances, and the ridiculous rules his manager, Holly, keeps concocting for him -- all part of the buildup to the release of Time, his steamy new film.

Thank goodness for phone sex.

But even when their schedules allow them to connect, Grace and Jack must keep their relationship off the radar and away from paparazzi cameras. Sure, the sex is sensational, but can this duo survive swirling rumors, the demands of their chosen professions, Grace’s raging internal battles, and a whopping nine-year age difference?

Tick-tock, the clock is ticking. Isn’t it?

Alice Clayton brings the second installment of a tale told with her magical mix of humor and heat, so cuddle up under the sheets and flip on the Golden Girls. Grace and Jack are at it again.

The Redhead Revealed (Redhead, #2) Reviews

I have no time for a lengthy review. I just want to say that I liked this book/series SO MUCH MORE than I thought I would. I was not a huge fan of Wallbanger. It was okay, but the sexy times were too PG and too long in coming, and I just didn't connect all that much. This book was totally opposite. I loved these two so freaking much!!! From their first meeting when Grace spits her crackers all over the place while laughing, her ability to poke fun at herself and her humility endeared me to her. Grace is a real person. Jack is hot to trot and he may know it, but he doesn't really embrace it. He's just along for the crazy ride, and he just loves Grace. The age difference really made no difference to him. He found the woman who could make him laugh and see past his looks and his star status, and he loves her. Done deal.

    Five huge stars from me.

  • Vickie

This book gave me the irrational fear of shaving my armpits and the MC was trying to be like Bella Swan “oh I’m too old for him, he’ll want to dump me for someone rich blond pretty and young” but then she turns around and starts catching feelings for her ex and almost cheating on her current boyfriend on multiple occasions 🙄🙄🙄🙄

On the one hand, I couldn't actually care less what happens to the people in these books. The plots don't have much depth or density and all too often feel like too much syrup and not enough pancake.

But does that make them bad in any way? No, because on the other hand, I do enjoy hanging around with Grace and Jack and their cute friends, vicariously basking in their glamorous lifestyles, listening to their banter, and feeling the sparks fly. This series makes for fun quick reading without too much emotional investment.

Recommended if you're looking for a light romance with a big scoop of hot sex scenes.

  • Stacia (the 2010 club)

Smiling is good. Laughing is great. Add in some sexy time and it gets even better.

3.5 stars. Alice Clayton excels at entertaining a reader. The Redhead series might not be the most polished set of books I've ever experienced, but sometimes entertainment trumps flair...especially when you're in need of a pick-me-up. Her books read like a cross between a riotously funny chick lit and an extremely sexy contemporary romance.

This second installment reminded me vaguely of the book Effortless, except that some of the drama was substituted with humor instead. That's absolutely a good thing because too much drama can get to be tiring. There were a few chapters of couple's angst toward the end but I only rolled my eyes once or twice. I swear. You can trust me (no I'm not whistling innocently over here. You can't prove anything!). I can only imagine what it would be like though to be in a long-distance relationship with a budding movie star when you're 9 years older than the man you love.

The tabloids alone could kill it : I was called Grace Sheridon't, Grace McOldAss, and That Redheaded Hamilton Fucker.

    The Characters :
Jack (a.k.a. Johnny Bite Down) and Grace were still fun and sexy. The cutesy terms were scaled back somewhat but not enough for my liking.

    Jack's still got it -

He was leaning against the town car, looking like a wet dream come true. Black jeans, black v-neck sweater, leather jacket. He gave great lean.

    The Humor :
It was on point. The New Kids and Golden Girls references still ruled.

    The Steam :
The trifecta is complete. I love this author's way of writing sex scenes. Grace is one lucky woman.

The first scene after Grace showed Jack a previous picture of herself when she was still heavy, while admitting that she never fully got used to being thin again.
"You. Are. Beautiful," he whispered in my ear, punctuating each word with a thrust.

The Fly in the Ointment :
I still feel like there are too many awkward moments of humor in unnecessary places. This gives off the impression that the author is trying to tap dance her way into our hearts while shoveling delicious cookies in our mouths at the same time. I mean, I like cookies and all...but yeah. I don't like being drowned in cutesy terms and slapstick comedy while sex is about to go down.

It took a while for some of the story outside of the "Jack and Grace sex-a-thon" to finally appear and when it finally did, it came in a big wave of drama.

The last few chapters should have been moved to book 3. I thought the book was over...and then it wasn't.

    Even so:
This is a fun series! If you like to smile or like to get hot and bothered while reading, you'll probably enjoy the Redhead vibe.

I LOVED The Unidentified Redhead so much that I immediately purchased The Redhead Revealed and read it. It was still funny and sexy and all those other words I used yesterday but if The Unidentified Redhead and The Redhead Revealed were twins, The Redhead Revealed would be the more dramatic, angst causing one!

The Redhead Revealed was everything The Unidentified Redhead was and so much more! Clayton demonstrated that she can go beyond the funny banter and sexy relations in The Unidentified Redhead and make hearts lurch and tears fall. I love her depth and her ability to evoke so many emotions in one book!

Grace has relocated to New York City to rehearse for her off-Broadway production which her college crush Michael wrote. The distance between Grace and Jack combined with Grace's growing insecurities and the pressures of Hollywood are putting stress on their relationship. Grace is spending too much time in her own head thinking of all the reasons they should not be together while Jack is traveling the world promoting his new movie. They rarely see each other but they do have some HOT phone sessions!

I felt great sadness for Grace while reading this one. I knew in the first book that she was a little insecure but this book took it to another level. Grace isn't comfortable with her body or her age especially when she thinks of her super hot Hollywood boyfriend and what she thinks he deserves. I wanted to shake Grace through most of this! She has a great boyfriend who loves her and accepts her and treats her so well but she is her own worst enemy. It doesn't help that she is working with her old college crush and is completely confused about what she feels towards him. It felt like a bomb was going to go off at any moment. I waited and waited and well I am not going to tell you; you will have to read it yourself!

Jack is struggling with his fame and lack of privacy. Like Grace, I think he misses the small bubble they were in before she left for New York and his movie premiered. Now he is dealing with people telling him where to be, when to be there, who to be seen with, etc. This is not good for Jack or his relationship with Grace but Jack is handles it far better than Grace! Jack further cemented his place as possibly my top book boyfriend of all time, he is funny, sexy, loyal, British, and he loves Grace unconditionally.

I was so sad when I finished this book simply because I finished it. I wanted more, more, more! I will be anxiously waiting for book three in the Spring of 2013 and at this point I think I would even read a how to book on gardening if Alice Clayton wrote it. She has put herself up there with some of my favorite authors but she is my new all time favorite when I need a laugh!

More Grace & Jack = WIN!

Redhead Revealed begins right where Unidentified Redhead leaves off, with Grace in NYC starting her musical and with Jack still in LA. They are doing the long distance thing, trying to make it work, but also missing each other terribly.

”I just miss you. I miss being in your bed,” he said quietly, and I could hear the desperation in his voice. I felt it too. It was not just the physical love he gave me, but the simple touches we took for granted when we saw each other all the time. I missed him washing my hair almost as much as the intense orgasms he had granted me daily.

Time apart is difficult enough, but Jack and Grace are supposed to be keeping their relationship under wraps. It’s in the best interest of Jack’s career and to keep Grace from being bombarded by paparazzi and angry fangirls during this crazy time.
“Listen up, Nuts Girl. When I say, ‘I don’t have a girlfriend,’ what I want you to hear in that tiny little head of yours is, ‘I love you, Grace,’” he instructed on the phone late one night. “When you hear me say, ‘No, I’m not seeing anyone right now,’ what you need to hear is, ‘Yes, yes, I am, and she has the best tits in the free world.’ Can you do that, please?”
“Yes, sir. I’ll listen for your secret messages. Jeez, this is so cloak and dagger. You’d think you were a spy or something.” I laughed.

When a few visits, copious amounts of phone sex, and reassurances from Jack stop being enough, Grace loses it a bit.
This whirlwind romance with Jack had brought up every insecurity I’d ever had. Sure, we were great when it was just us, but when you put it in the context of real life?

They ultimately have to figure out if they can make it work in the crazy life they have both chosen. Is it all worth fighting for?

This book definitely had more conflict and angst than the last, which is to be expected considering the conditions these two are working with. Although there was drama and some bad decisions made, I loved Jack and Grace through it all. Even when I was mad at one of them , there were then moments I was insanely proud too. There is still the humor we know of Alice Clayton, but it is definitely more dialed back in this one. And even with the distance and separation, there is still plenty of steam in this book. It’s what I’ve come to expect from these two - that dynamite chemistry and sexual tension.

Overall, I loved it. I cannot wait until the next book in the series to get more of this crazy duo. (Even though the description for the next totally makes me nervous, but it might be about time Jack shows he has one flaw! Lol)

We were silly, we were unique, we were thankfully not normal, and we were perfectly matched.

    My Grace and Jack:

    2.5 STARS

    I have a confession to make. I wasn't overly impressed with book #1 -
The Unidentified Redhead - but I was curious enough to pick this sequel up and see what would happen.

I really liked that there was more drama in this book than in previous instalment. But I was annoyed with Grace, her self-conciousness and immaturity. Also, I was a little bit discouraged by almost-love-triangle thing that developped in this book.

This series is considered to be funny. I admit, some parts were funny. However, there were moments when situations seemed to be forced, as if author was purposedly trying to make us laugh. And it had opposite effect - it all felt akward.

I think you guessed that I am not the biggest fan of Grace or this series in general. But overall story is still interesting enough for me to find out how it is all going to end for Grace and Jack. So do not feel discouraged by my review, you may find yourself loving it!

So, after I consumed The Unidentified Redhead with ab-killing laughs and some serious hot flashes (of a different nature), there was no way that I could stop myself from moving right on to The Redhead Revealed. I finished this one for the first time 2 days ago and I'll be completely honest...I had to go back and read again immediately it was THAT good! Not only does Ms. Clayton have the uncanny ability to make me laugh, snort, and giggle with the written word but, her ability to make Grace and Jack downright irresistable is a feat not accomplished by many in my book. This story picks up right where we left of (I say "we" because yes...I was there too) and the transition was flawless. I was very curious as to how she would manage to make a long distance relationship steamy but I was not disappointed in the least and I have a whole new outlook on phone sex. ;) Of course, there can't be a story without some bumps in the road but I can guarantee the ride was well worth it for me and it made for some serious oohhs and awwws from this crowd. Ms. Clayton you have done it again and I know I am but a small voice in a sea of screams to say "We want more schmaltz"! The only downer I experienced was the realization that I now have several, and I mean several, lonely months ahead before I will be reunited with one of my favorite couples of all time! If you enjoy a good love story with some serious laughing and a touch of steamy smut, buy now! You will not be disappointed!!

I read The Unidentified Redhead (Redhead #1) a couple of weeks ago and absolutely LOVED it. It made me so happy when I read it, that I dreaded not having another book by Alice Clayton to look forward to. So I decided to have a little self control and wait till I need a happy-making book to read #2. I knew when the PMS rolled around I’d be ready, and I was right.

So I bought The Redhead Revealed (Redhead #2) by Alice Clayton. Immediately I was back in love and so happy and actually had to put the book down a couple of times because my face started hurting from smiling so much. Then……………..

I kept putting it down. I was busy fixing a bunch of things on the blog. My kids had activities. I had to do laundry (which I always read during). Usually I never let something deter me from a book I totally love. But I felt it. I knew it was coming and I was too scared to let it happen.

Noooooooooo! Not my George and Gracie!!!

But how can a relationship like theirs work? It’s cross-country relationship, she is 9 years older, both are at the perfect points in their career, they have to keep it a secret, he has to be “seen” with other women. Grace is a bit insecure, though Jack never gives her reason to be who could blame her? Then there is Michael who is perfect and adorable, and is great with kids…..I wanted to stop, go back, unread it. But I couldn’t. But I love them and want them to be happy. Who wouldn’t?

The train was about to wreck…..I wanted to stop her……..if I could have jumped in the book and throttled Grace I would have!!!

So while the first book didn’t have the angst, this one did. And just the right amount. I love everything about this series. It is so very rare that I laugh out loud while reading a book. I laughed out loud so many times during this series! My husband thought I was nuts. He hears snorts coming out of me and is wondering WTF? Plus, the sex scenes were hot as hell, sometimes funny, and tastefully written without a lot of “schmaltz”.

“Bossy Bad Girl Grace was in full effect. My Jack loved a challenge.

“Consider it handled, Crazy,” he whispered, grinning that sexy half grin. Then he pulled me, roughly, closer to his mouth. My hands clutched tightly in his hair as he kissed me, first on the insides of my thighs, and then–sweet Lord–he kissed me right on my gonna-see-God.”

The scene continues, but do you see what mean? Hot, sweet, funny……..the whole shebang. I couldn’t possibly love this series more. I even shed some tears. And guess what? She is writing a 3rd one. Squeeeeeee!!!!!!!!

Usually this is where I put my likes and dislikes. There were no dislikes. But I will name some of the things I loved:

-I loved each and every character, and the relationships between them.
-I love that Jack & Grace’s relationship was explored and real issues came up.
-I love the way Grace and her friends interacted. They called each other “dumb bitch, asshat, dillweed, and still loved each other like crazy. Grace buying Nick a Hello Kitty case, Grace and her friend in New York. I want to be her friend!
-As much as I wanted to kill Grace, I understood her, and every reason she had.
-I love that the sex scenes were long and involved and were somehow still hot without using any overly descriptive words like “glistening petals” or “throbbing manhood”.
-I love that the silliness carried to the bedroom, but didn’t detract from it.

5++++++++ stars for story 4.5 for Heat

This series absolutely goes down as one of my favorites ever. Filled with wit, snark, love, silliness, angst, emotion, sexy times, and more fun than I’ve ever had in a book, this series is a winner on all fronts! I will happily buy anything this woman writes.

    1.5 - 2 stars

I have no one but myself to blame for this, because I didn't enjoy the first book,
The Unidentified Redhead, much. But, I read and enjoyed
Wallbanger, so I gave it a chance. That was mistake #1.

Mistake #2 was actually finishing this book. It was only 234 pages so I thought, no big deal, I can finish it no problem...

About 70% of Redhead Revealed was like this:

After list-guided trips to Target, The Container Store, and Ralph's, I spent the rest of the evening putting stuff away and arranging. My things from storage were arriving the next day, and I was anxious to start hanging pictures and personalizing, But even now, my home was beginning to look lived in. Clothes hung in the closets. There was soap in the soap dish and peanut butter in the pantry.

    Maybe 20% was actually story/plot/dialog.

The remaining 10% was the word boobies.

I am giving this 1.5 - 2 stars (instead of just 1)because I have actually finished a book with much worse writing than this. (Only myself to blame for that one as well).

    Schmaltz.That's what she said......

Once again we're thrown in the mix of Grace and Jack's world. Full of fun, chaotic, nutty, smutty, sad, insanely funny,and....hmmmm...I know I mentioned smutty right? Lol! Whatever teasers us readers had in the first book, these characters are on the saddle full throttle, with any chance they get!

With Jack's career booming and becoming a huge star. Grace having her chance to fulfil her dreams since she was a girl. The whole story is crazy emotional, but the characters pull it off with their constant bickering and joking. You just sort of see what'ss happening only on the surface of their lives and not what's hidden underneath, till the dam bursts....

Grace and Jack's relationship is confusing, weird and not at all functional. Knowing each other for six months, having mind blogging smexin, then all of a sudden, they're in love? Yup! That's what she said...... Lol! But there is a reason for their shenanigans, first, their age difference, then, their constant reminder they are not to be seen with each other in public, dealing with each others pasts and present futures, hardly seeing each, dealing with the press, and the list just goes on and on.

But in the end when everything gets sorted out,it was more then just the two of them lusting with sex and boinking every chance they get. It was Love,Loyalty,Honesty ,Respect and Understanding. I'm glad everything got sorted out,now I'm a tad bit nervous as to why there's going to be a third book,I'm not sure I can deal with the whirlwind of Grace and Jack's lives again! I was left winded the second time around with book two,but the third? Oh.My.Word.... I'm a survivor with anything dysfunctional, but with Jack and Grace? I'm a lost cause and lost for words.... Cheers to many more Crazy causes my Jack and Grace!

Btw! It was truly a cute story :)

“He was everything I’d ever wanted, and everything I hadn’t even known I needed.”

With both their careers growing at opposite ends of the country, Jack's huge Hollywood movie premiering in LA and Grace's Broadway show in NYC, they have to deal with making a long-distance relationship work, with learning to trust each other, with only seeing each other every couple weeks/months, with Jack's growing fame and intense media scrutiny, with nosy and lying tabloids, with with the general insecurities that come with a fast growing whirlwind relationship.

"I just miss you. I miss being in your bed," he said quietly, and I could hear the desperation in his voice. I felt it too. It was not just the physical love he gave me, but the simple touches we took for granted when we saw each other all the time. I missed him washing my hair almost as much as the intense orgasms he had granted me daily."

I did want to throttle Grace a fair bit in this one, but her insecurities were understandable. But still, she made some pretty stupid decisions. Thankfully, despite being the younger one, Jack was so heart-warmingly mature and loyal and fought so strongly for the relationship and to convince Grace of his love for her.

"Those fangirls think he's all sexy scientist man, and really, he's just a British goober who adores his girlfriend."

Overall it was a fun read, it was romantic, more drama-packed packed than the first one, but Grace and Jack were still their crazy, fun selves ensuring some hilarious, cute, swoony scenes, great banter, a whole lot of sex, and a happy-for-now ending (there is going to be another book in the series).

Alice Clayton has done it again! The Redhead Revealed begins where The Unidentified Redhead left off; Jack in Los Angeles getting ready for the opening night of Time and Grace in New York doing rehearsals for her big stage debut.

I worried about George and Gracie and being apart. They just found one another and admitted they were crazy in love so how could this work. “Long-distance relationships typically work best (if at all) when the couple has been together a lot longer than we had. We went from a vacuum of sweet and sex and love, to zero face-to-face contact-and it was proving more difficult than either of us had thought it would be” Our laugh out loud couple does their best to stay connected; long chats, steamy texts and A LOT of phone sex. Let’s talk about the sex for a minute. Ms. Clayton has these steamy, smutty, sexy scenes down to a science! Holy Hell can she write a sex scene. There is a lot of it in this book and while others may seem overwhelming or just plain filer I look forward to them every time without hesitation.

Even on different coasts our couple still has that spark yet their careers are attempting to pull them apart. Grace and her relationship with the one that got away, her current career boosting friend Michael only had eyes for our redhead and a past flame Marcia is showing up all over TMZ with the lovely Jack with tabloids suggestively putting them together again. Grace has her issues and they show up full force in this sequel, she crazy after all.

The few times they get to see each other are wonderful and so sweet. Grace always trying to be with Jack yet respectful of his up and coming super stardom is admirable and at times sad to me. I cannot imagine being in that position. But of course in true “redhead” hilarity she finds away to make it all work out.

“This. Us. This isn’t going to work out” Ugh. “You’re crazy, you know that? How in the world can you even think of ending things with me? You know we are perfect together.” I did not want this to happen though it was clear where they were headed. Grace returns to New York and Michael and Jack becomes a young Hollywood actor on the scene. I was worried that this could mirror another book I had just read with a love triangle but to the credit of the author she shot that down rather quickly and I was thankful. It just wouldn’t work with these two. Yes, we get the separation that I was afraid of but Jack calls BS on Grace and they are back where they belong. Once again the handsome Brit is seen across a room with a dashing sexy smile watching his sweet girl sing. The lunch scene was perfect and honest. Angst has no place in their story, they deserve their happily ever after without the constant ridiculous hurdles.

The fun is always constant in this sequel; I laughed until I cried with the whole shirt turban during sex. Anytime there is laughter during sex in a good way I am all for it. Do not mess with Grace and her candy obsession, and do not offer her Milk Duds when she is in a stunning dress, the poor girl. Jack is charming as ever and such a match in every way for Grace. They learn to handle the crazy along with their rocketing careers, what could be better?

I loved the last page with the tabloid article, what a great way to set up book three.

Again I identified with Grace on so many levels. I normally disconnect with the protagonist but this is the second series I have read where I just get her. Her insecurities about her body, the over analyzing of absolutely everything, the way she second guesses her decisions and her overwhelming need to do what she feels is the best for someone even though it tears her apart. She is a wonderful character for me to read.

If you read The Unidentified Redhead you must read the sequel for one reason only… schmaltz!

  • Gitte TotallyBookedBlog

I went straight from Redhead #1 to Redhead #2..I am completely addicted to Crazy Nut Gracie and Sweet Nuts George and I had to have more!!!

Alice Clayton is FAB-U-LUSH she has a fab writing style that effortlessly flows and captures the emotions and depth of her characters!! I am hooked!! Right enough "schmaltz"....;0) LOL.

Again, this story was pure class of a slightly different variety. Still full of hilarious one liners and witty sexual innuendos (YAY), still very very sexy and HOT (double YAY), still sweet and tender (sigh) but now add angst, drama and old insecurities to the mix. I actually burst out crying in one particular scene. Shocker!! Definitely much more of an emotional read than book #1!

"Johnny Bite Down" and Gracie are still absolutely amazing together and I have to say I am utterly JEALOUS of Grace..love her to bits but WOW lucky girl!!!

"If I wanted to make you stay in all night with me, all I'd have to do is wave some candy in front of you and then kiss on your sweet breasts. You'd be putty in my hands." He grinned sexily.

"There's candy?" I asked, looking around wildly.

Jack laughed so hard he fell off the bed. I never did find that candy.

    "The Brit Came.

    In me.

    Brilliant."

    Anyway I digress...LOL

Grace and Jack's careers are just starting to take off which finds them at opposite sides of the country. Grace is in New York where she’s getting ready to start rehearsals for her starring role in a new stage show ( with her - "more than friends" - Michael - with the melty brown eyes - from the past). Meanwhile, Jack is back in L.A. getting ready for his big movie premiere. Grace and Jack however are still keeping their "bubble of sex" alive with steamy phone sex and text messages.

"Aw, I missed you too George. I really did, I whispered, kissing him softly, breathing in his warm S'more-y smell. There was really no way I would ever eat a S'more again without wanting to have sex with it. If the marshmallow just came off the flames, that could hurt....." - Crazy Nut

It is not long though before the distance starts to interfere along with doubts, resurfacing past insecurities, press rumours and above all "the AGE thing"!! This leads to Grace - That Redheaded Hamilton Fucker wondering if her and Jack should stay together...and/or whether she should explore her "more than friends" Michael?! (Can I just say that I really really liked Michael! He was snoggable, sweet, yummy, funny and not at all a bad guy!!)

Jack and Grace's journey is in this book..one emotional, heartbreaking, funny and sexy ride that I did not want to get off!!!

I am HOPING that Alice Clayton somehow reads this review (yes I know stretching it a bit!!) but I NEED more George and Grace, Holly and L's story (if that works out!!) and it'd be nice to have Michael's too!!! Not asking alot is it?? LOL....

  • Patty ~ Wrapped Up In Reading Book Blog

This book in one word was PERFECT!!
What a great follow up to The Unidentified Redhead.
I love Grace and can totally relate to the woman who let herself go and closed herself off to the world, then taking things into her own hands and getting back into shape.
She is one of the most lovable female characters and all I can say is where can I find a Jack Hamilton (Sweetnuts) of my own?? I loved this book with all it's hilarity, sexiness, and of course, the Schmaltz!
    So where's the third installment??!!!!!!
Five plus, plus, plus stars from me on this one. :)

     photo image_zpsadadaeb8.jpg

    Grace
I'm going to fuck you until you can't see straight tonight.
Are you ready for that, Crazy?

    Sweet mother of pearl...
    George
Get. Over. Here. As. Soon. As. You. Can.
    Make me see God!

    Last one:
    Grace
Will pick you up at the theater at 9 for dinner.
Will be in a black town car.
    Panties are unnecessary.

That motherfucker. I still had four hours of rehearsal. How the hell was I going to get through this?

"Did you ever stop to think that I need you too? That you're perfect for me? That you put up with my shit as well? You can't just give me your love and then take it away without asking. It doesn't work like that!" -Jack

There truly was no man better suited for me in the world. He was mine, I was his, and that was the truth.

I love these books! Gracie and George! So great! It was still as funny as the last but it made me a little more nervous at times... I mean come on Grace get with the program! But I really enjoyed how it ended, I hear there is going to be a third one this spring? Yay!

Update as of April 19, 2013. Just want to publicly state that since reading this book (in mid 2011) I have had to make a decision about my personal opinion on pulling fanfiction to publish for money. And I have come down on the side of Not Okay. Hard. This book came out before the Twilight fanfiction fandom exploded with greed.

This practice has broken the fandom in two, and it has broken long-standing friendships into pieces.
I will not change my original review, because I *did* feel all those emotions.

Sadly it would have made SO much more sense if I had read it about Edward and Bella.

ETA: It has been brought to my attention that, apparently, this may not have been twilight fanfiction originally (before being pulled to publish in this form), but the even creepier variation of Real People Fiction, starring Robert Pattinson and an original character, which makes me REALLY happy I never read the original fic, and only marginally happier that what I read had been cleansed with that specific atrocity.

    Original review:
Better than the first? hell yeah. Ended with a teaser for next book? you bet. Am I going to buy the next one? why, of course.
This is seriously fun, sexy and happy, with a twinge of sad and confused thrown in for good measure. Just like life is. (Only we should all be so lucky as to meet a Jack Hamilton, huh?)
I notice I keep going back over some chapters in my mind, giggling a bit, or thinking a bit more about the *godawful* life our celebs have.
So, excellent book. Fun and witty. Well written, with flowing sentences that never promises anything they do not later deliver.
    Great. Fun. Alice!!!
    thanks
    anna

I’m pleased to say this series hasn’t lost its momentum and I really enjoyed this second installment.

Grace and Jack try to keep their romantic spark alive while managing a long distance relationship as their careers keep them on separate coasts: Grace in NYC working on an Off-Broadway musical and Jack in Hollywood doing press tours for his new movie. The relationship between Grace and America’s newest heartthrob is still a secret from the public – much to Jack’s displeasure – and as Jack’s popularity increases so do Grace’s insecurities.

Of course the fairy tale couldn’t last forever and I’ll admit I got a little nervous the closer Grace grows to her former college love and current producer, Michael. But I knew Grace would never cheat on Jack. Would she? I mean, she has the love of Jack Fucking Hamilton for goodness sake!

The Redhead Revealed is funny (if sometimes a little cheesy), sweet, and sexy. I’m looking forward to the final book.

I love Grace and Jack. When she breaks his heart, I'm crushed for him. I get that she's concerned about what's good for him, but agree when she realizes she's only thinking of herself and not what he wants.

I absolutely love their story and can't wait to continue learning more about them in the next book. I want to learn more about Holly and Lane as well.

Their pet names for each other are hysterical and I love what his gift says and how it's only understood by them. I gasped when I thought he was proposing and wish he had, but hopefully that will happen in the next book.

I would watch this as a tv show.

God, these books are amazing! Can't get enough of Gracie and George ♡

Other than the fact that I wanted to slap the crap outta Grace at many points during the book, it was still really good and enjoyed it.

3.5 stars. This is the second book in the series. In this Grace and Jack have to experience long distant relationship as their careers is taking of in different places. Can their relationship handle that, and is her rekindled friendship with her old flame Micheal free from romantic feelings. So slightly triangle drama but not to much! I enjoyed this one as well but not as much as the first. Still enjoyed the characters and still love the actor and fame theme these books have. Sometimes I just crave these things, you know? But their not to dramatic and ridiculous.

Why I Read this Book: I read
    The Unidentified Redhead
and loved it so I knew I was going to read the next book in the series, The Redhead Revealed. The first book left off with Grace, a stage actress, landing a gig in New York while Jack, the next big up and coming celebrity in Hollywood, had to stay in Los Angeles to promote his upcoming release. In book one, Grace and Jack sexually craved one another. What I wanted to know was now that they’re thousands of miles away from each other, would their relationship survive the distance?

What I Liked: The characters are well rounded - main characters as well as secondary characters. Grace and Jack are a perfect fit for each other just as Grace and Holly, Grace’s BFF and manager, are. Grace and Jack’s chemistry and compatibility is off the charts. But don’t think things are all roses and sunshine for Grace and Jack; the author throws a few obstacles their way.

The author makes their relationship believable. Sure, Jack is a soon-to-be major celebrity and Grace is just a woman trying to live her dream to become an actress but in that respect, it’s believable. Think Notting Hill, the movie where Julia Roberts plays the celebrity and Hugh Grant is the average guy she falls in love with.

I love the hilarious banter that goes back and forth between Grace and Jack and I love that they get each other.

“If I wanted to make you stay in all night with me, all I’d have to do is wave some candy in front of you and then kiss on your sweet boobies. You’d be putty in my hands.” He grinned sexily.

“There’s candy?” I asked, looking around wildly.

Jack laughed so hard he fell off the bed. I never did find that candy.

I like how the author doesn’t drag the story along unnecessarily. You know those books where the author feels the need to describe every single thing/place/scene/conversation? Alice Clayton keeps the storyline moving along quite swiftly.

Another funny scene that takes place happens during a dinner, where Grace and Michael are reminiscing how they first meet back in college:

I totally fell flat on my face, and some guy had to help me get all my shit together. I was so embarrassed because my birth control pills fell out of my purse, and he handed them back to me with a hug smirk. And you saw that? How mortifying!”

“I was the guy who handed you your pills, you dork!”

Michael’s presence is The Unidentified Redhead was mild but in The Redhead Revealed, as stage boss, he gets a bit more page time. I love what the author did with Michael’s character.

As I sit here I write my review, I am chuckling all over again. I can go on and on listing my favorites scenes but I’m pretty sure I would be violating copyright laws if I did.

What I Didn’t Like: There wasn’t anything I didn’t like about this book, or this series for that matter. I only wish book 3 of The Redhead Series was out already.

Overall Impression: Alice Clayton delivers steamy romance, witty characters and a barrel full of laughs in The Redhead Revealed. I got exactly what I expected from reading this book: a silly grin slapped across my face from the many laugh-out-loud moments and rosy cheeks from reading those provocative and stimulating scenes. Some of those scenes were so titillating, they made my heart palpitate. The Unidentified Redhead and The Redhead Revealed were both truly enjoyable to read. I cannot wait for the next installment in this series.

With only having read 2 of her books it may be too early to tell so I’m saving Alice Clayton a spot on my list of auto-buy authors. I can’t wait to see what else she comes up with.

The Redhead Revealed, the second novel in the Redhead series by Alice Clayton, was another PHENOMENAL novel. I am OBSESSED with this series and the author. I look forward to reading many more novels by her in the future :)

The two main characters, Gracie and George, crack me up and give me the warm fuzzies!!! I don't think I have EVER wanted to be a fictional character as bad as I want to be Grace. You caught me. I just want George all to myself :)

I was pretty nervous going into this novel. I loved the way The Unidentified Redhead ended, and I had this gut feeling that Grace was going to mess things up in this novel. I can't tell you what happens. That wouldn't be fair. But, I will tell you that I absolutely loved this novel. Grace and Jack definitely have a few obstacles to overcome in this novel: Jack is still adjusting to his celebrity status. Grace is still concerned about their age difference. And their rising careers are literally pulling them in opposite directions. Things are easy for Grace and Jack, but even though the worst, they are still the sexy, playful couple that I fell in love with in The Unidentified Redhead. And you know what they say: what doesn't kill you makes you stronger!

I can't wait to read the third novel in this series. I wish it was Spring of 2013 already!!

I gave The Redhead Revealed (Redhead #2) by Alice Clayton 5 STARS (4.5 STARS). Buy this series now! It's a MUST READ.

    -XOXO

    READING, EATING AND DREAMING

  • Sarah (is only writing short reviews for now)

30/10 - Reading this I had two of my favourite songs running through my head, one for the first half of the book and the other for the second. While Grace and Jack were apart, on different sides of the country from each other, I kept thinking of the lyrics from Simple Plan's Jet Lag with Natasha Bedingfield, especially the chorus, some of which seemed to be almost exactly what Grace was experiencing:

    You say good morning
    When it's midnight
    Going out of my head
    Alone in this bed
I wake up to your sunset
    And it's driving me mad
    I miss you so bad:
And my heart, heart, heart is so jet-lagged

Then when Jack's movie came out and he started to get mobbed by fans the track changed to Larger than Life by The Backstreet Boys. The opening verse seemed to echo exactly how I imagine Jack felt once he became famous:

    I may run and hide
When you're screamin' my name, alright
But let me tell you now
There are prices to fame, alright
All of our time spent in flashes of light

This book had more substance, in the form of drama, than
The Unidentified Redhead. That added drama made this more true to life and gave both Jack and Grace's characters some room to grow and show the reader different sides of themselves, but it also made it a little less 'happy-happy' than the previous book. I have the third book waiting for me on my bedside table and I look forward to finding the time within my busy library due date schedule to get to it.

Thanks Netha for the book :)

I just wish there will be book 3. I don't need much drama, just pregnancy and wedding story hahaha...

DONE and there were tears I gotta let it sink in HOT for sure. Took a while to sink in and gosh my book club book buddies are in for a treat. Who knew that Broadway, agents, actors and producers were so sordid?? Not me. Where ever is my personal Jack I am going to go on a mission to find him. Truth is I was away now going home and I know for sure home is California so I am with Grace, smelling my lemon trees, avocado and oranges too. There is a new home and I cant ever imagine leaving. I dont know if the age difference was even a fact for real it was soul mates. I too am in love with Jack

WOW!!!! I cannot tell you how much I loved this book!!!!!!! What a great story, and a great series!!! It is an adorable romance between two unlikely people. It is utterly hilarious, sexy, romantic and incredible. The characters were totally lovable, all of them, even the competition. What can I say, Grace and Jack, Gracie and George, whatever, they are amazing together, and for once, he's actually a great f@cking guy!!!! I cannot wait for the next book. Great book Alice, and thanks for keeping it going, I haven't even begun to get enough Hamilton yet!!!!!

I am not sure this series would not have worked better as one book instead of three. They are short and sexy and sweet and lots of fun. There is a lot here in Book 2 that is not perfect but sometimes I don't need perfect. Overall I really enjoyed this, especially the focus on friendships and their importance and the focus on friendship within a romantic relationship (which was not a thing in the last book where there was nothing but sex and quips.) Just easy fun.
