Love isn't in the equation but fate has other ideas.

Faith Summers wanted some forbidden fun on her birthday—a night in her sexy boss’s bed. What she gets is more than she bargained for when her encounter with Horace West results in mind-blowing sex, attempted murder and a magical explosion that turns her world upside down.

Faith is human. Horace is not. He's a Protector—a race of supernatural beings who protects humans from otherworldly attacks. The last thing Horace needs is a woman. They’re nothing but trouble. And that's exactly what he gets when he encounters Faith Summers—trouble. The sultry vixen did everything in her power to drive him crazy. Still, sleeping with her was a mistake. A huge mistake.

A crazy night of passion unleashes Horace’s mystical powers on the world. Now, unless Horace can undo what Faith has done to him, she will die.

    Denise’s Review

Faith Summers is on a mission to enjoy her birthday, and intends to do so in the arms of Horace West, the owner of the club at which she works. Horace hasn’t paid her much attention—at all—since making her a part of the staff, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t noticed her. He has, and that’s the problem.

The world-building in this novel was incredibly well-crafted, as were the characters and dialogue. I did have a bit of trouble getting invested in the story, however, beyond the writing and characters. I’m not sure if this is due to the fact I haven’t read any of the previous books in the Protectors series, but it took me a while to get to the point where I couldn’t put down. However, upon reaching that point, it was a definitive race to the finish.

I love a good paranormal romance and Ms. McFalls doesn’t disappoint. If you’re looking for a unique new world to explore pact full of memorable characters, search no further than Mystical Seduction.

I really enjoyed the book. The author really did a great job of making me connect to the characters. I immediately took a liking to Faith and even to Horace. I wanted to punch Horace when he was treating Faith so badly but at the same time, I knew the more connection they had the closer together it would bring them. I loved the revelation of the secrets no one knew and think the story came to a really wonderful end. There's a neat underlying value to the book too, which is that sometimes the solution to a problem isn't big elaborate things but simply accepting what life has brought across our path.

This was a great fast read and I really enjoyed it. The way that Dorothy McFalls introduces a new type of paranormal "people" is intriguing and well thought out. I have not read the first two books in the series but for me this book was able to stand alone. I loved that the main female character Faith Summers who was strong but not over bearing which makes the story seem more realistic in the relationship area, not so much in the bed area but hey that was good too so I'm not complaining. I was left hoping for the series to continue which is not so bad. I highly recommend this story.

I do love exotic places and from the wildness of Chicago to the old-world flavour of Bolivia this story provides such settings. I also like reading about interesting, well-rounded characters that grab me from the first page and Faith and Horace do just that. Add to the mix an intriguing, sexy tale about otherworld creatures and written by a best-selling author, what more can you ask for?

Horace has a really big problem. He somehow transferred his powers to Faith when they had sex in the alley. Now, not only is does he have his regular day to day problems to deal with (such as repressed memories) but he also has to deal with a girlfriend that tends to glow and tear the universe apart by the seams when she gets angry with him. The only way to save both their lives (and that of the rest of the world) is to figure out what the hell happened.

The third book I've read in the Protectors series is by far the hottest. Horace and Faith have a chemistry that is like few I've ever read. Horace has to face up to the years from his past that he has blocked in his mind in order to fix it all - and Faith has to hang on for the ride. We get to find out an tiny itty bitty bit about why the Protectors are here and where the come from as well. I hope McFalls continues writing about this group.

I really liked Mystical Seduction by Dorothy McGalls. It's the sequel to Neptune's Lair. I liked the story lines of these books. Each book is a complete story in itself. In Mystical Seduction it tells of Horace and his falling for Faith. They have a great physical attraction to each other. But Horace's mind has blocks in it making him forget several years of his life and he's afraid to love. Faith has given Horace her love and has received his powers. A mystical assassin is sent to kill Horace with a man made weapon. When he learns that Faith and Horace has mated he adds Faith to his list. Faith's parents give them a clue about the strange tattoos that appeared on their bodies so Faith and Horace travel to South America where they meet their destiny.

This was an unexpected read for me because I don't tend to read paranormal books, yet I am glad I actually took my time to read it.The romance between Faith and Horace was one of a kind, considering Faith was a human, but once she finally gets to consume the lust they have for each other she seems to acquire powers from Horace.Powers that Horace no longer has.Being a Protector means upholding secrecy to the highest degree. And now they find that they have to work together, especially as someone wants Horace dead.It was really interesting, definitely something that I would watch if it were to be made into a series.

I really enjoyed this paranormal read. I love when stubborn characters give up the fight and finally accept the inevitable.

The only glitch...Kara. I don't like her, and I didn't like attention towards Horace. I thought for sure she would play into the story more, but she just kind of fizzled away. She didn't really deserve any purpose.

    Great story.

I really enjoyed this story. The epilogue leaves it open for more stories as well as letting us know how the hero and heroine are doing. I will continue to look for of the protector series as long as they are complete love stories. Now to see if I can go back and find Dallas and Brandon's story as well as the next one.

I really hope there is a sequel to this story....
Hero is called Horace ... he is a Protector but also something more...
Faith works as a bartender in Horace's club but she wants something more:-) ...
Terrific world building and hints of trouble to come...

Really irritated with the heavy domination/mind-control tactics, but at least there was more background info. 3rd in the series.

I kept expecting it to be short like the others, but it kept just nbever ending. I was also hoping for something to tie it all together into the community, etc.
