Brilliantly written genre fiction of the paranormal with historical fiction as well. I love all things vampire and Anne Rice delivers. She is the pop culture writer of vampire stories in the late 20th Century. These chronicles are what came before the Twillight series. My friend Laura Hoffman turned me on to these books.

I absolutely LOVE these books! I could not contain myself quickly devouring one book after another. Anne Rice words were beautifully written, captivating, descriptive, and electrifying. I was easily transported to New Orleans; I connected with the characters, I understood and felt Louis' pain and anguish.
Her writing transformed the old perspective of vampires' being evil, and frightening.
I was swept away by the remorse, tragedy, an utter sadness that engulfed these characters. I found it difficult to stop reading, staying up nights in order to complete one book after another.
This is a MUST read, you will not be disappointed. -
I loved these books in high school. I'm curious about whether I'd still love them now, but not curious enough to reread them. Come to think of it, Interview with the Vampire is one of only a handful of books I've read more than once, so that says something.

Lestat is beyond amazing,
the most fun and complicated, arrogant and tragic of all vampires.
The most entertaining of all vampires books.
Some of the cronicles are sublime, some are not,
but all are well worth the reading. -
Amazing series.
