But just when things start really heating up, cruel fate steps in at Christmas vacation, when, after a second snafu, the lovebirds are separated the by an ocean of despair—the Atlantic Ocean.

When we got back to our room, Rene headed to one of the baths we would be sharing with three other students, while I simply threw on a nightshirt and hopped in bed. I just lay there and reflected on what Tami said. I'd naively thought I had my future at Juilliard mapped out. Rene would be my roommate and best friend for this year. For the next three years since the dorms were mostly for freshmen, I figured we could share an inexpensive two bedroom, New York flat. I wasn't naive, I knew those seven words, an inexpensive two bedroom, New York flat, created an oxymoron, but I'm an optimist.
In the middle of my contemplation, Rene returned. His hair, now darkened and damp, hung uncombed, but that wasn't what caught my attention. The only thing that kept him from standing naked before me was a white towel wrapped around and tucked in his waist.
He smiled. "Turn your head, ma chere, while I put my pajamas bottoms on."
I did, but I snuck a peek. My mouth watered as he turned his backside to me and dropped the towel. His broad shoulders and muscular chest veed into a narrow waist and ultra-sexy taut buns and that wasn't all. One at a time, he lifted a foot into each pajama leg, his shoulder muscles rippling, but before he pulled them up into place, every ounce of oxygen in my lungs exhaled and my pussy muscles clenched. From betwixt his muscular legs, the underside of his sex, the tip of his penis and his pinkish mauve scrotum, beckoned to me and I couldn't catch my breath. Finally when I thought I would pass out from oxygen deprivation, I gasped a breath of life.
Rene swung around, concern etched on his beautiful face. "Are you all right?"
My eyelids rose and I gasped again as blood rushed to my clit and pussy. His long, thick male member dangled from the opening in his pajamas.
He looked down and quickly inserted himself. "Sorry," he uttered, but the damage had been done.
The damage, of course, was to my idyllic concept of how we could be platonic friends and roommates for the next four years. "Girl, you're going to be the horniest dancer in Juilliard. And what about him? Is he supposed to go without for four years?" What Tami had been trying to tell me slammed into my mind like a head on collision. Why hadn't this been a problem last night? Because, you idiot, you both fell asleep in your clothes after talking half the night.
He smiled. "Are you going to sleep?"
"If I can."
"Would it bother you if I did some things on my computer?"
Apparently on the way to losing my mind, I blurted out, "This wouldn't be a problem if you weren't so God damned good looking," and rolled over to face the wall.
"What?"
My head turned back part way. "Never mind, forget I said that."
The mattress sank behind me and then a tender stroke brushed my arm. "No, mon amour, what is bothering you?"
I turned back over onto my back and raised up on my elbows.

This was officially my first erotica. I didn't want it to be
Fifty Shades of Grey, even though everyone and their mother is reading that book.
I liked it, but I felt the story was rushed. I didn't know when I bought it, that the book had only 93 pages.
I didn't really connect to the characters and they seemed more stereotypical than I would have liked.
The change in POV from Rene and Cher was jarring. It wouldn't have been so bad if the author hadn't have done in it the same chapter. In a few instances, the POV changed from first to the third, so yeah.
Still I enjoyed the book and I might have a look at the rest of Ms. Dawning's works. -
I just couldn't take the abruptness of the developments, although I really enjoyed the congratulation party at the start of the book. I'd like to have heard more about the heroine's family.
I also liked the vignette with Akira and his daughter. The sexiness felt forced on a contemporary romance to me - and because I was in the mood for clear erotic romance I had to put this down (not to mention that Rene - with the shortness of the story at around 80 pages - was somewhat of a walking cliché). The prose went somewhat too purple for me as well, in the erotic descriptions.
I think the author has the potential to be better, though. -
Ms Dawning makes the main characters and the charming secondary characters work for the HEA. Nothing worth having is easily obtained and this story proves that point. FRENCH KISS is a charming story, well written, and I recommend it to anyone interested in a good romance that is brief but long enough to entertain. There is no disappointment here.

Could this have been any more PREDICTABLE?! The lack of editing of this book was astounding! My pet peeve when reading! The story was semi-realistic up until chapter nine when reason and sanity were thrown clear out of the picture. Heidi Klinton...Really?! Good thing it was short. I honestly could not have continued if there had been just one more syrupy, unrealistic page! 1.5 stars...You can safely pass on this one.

Unlike Blind Date, I didn't enjoy this book. The sex scenes were ehh-- and there wasn't much of a story. The first few pages were great and they were leading to something I believed better but it got to the middle and i got lost. There should have been some story when the characters are suddenly engaged to be married. This story jumped from 'let be friends' to 'sex' to 'we're madly in love' to 'marriage' in a chapter. And the deportation part-- really?
Truly a let down. -
French Kiss is your typical boy meets girl and they fall in love. The story was good but I wished it been longer. Reviewed by Destiny Travis

It was an ok story. The storyline was good, but it lacked substance. It would be at the cusp, but just didn't quite deliver. The writer was a little weird talking about the French kissing, but talking about licking the enamel of each others teeth and it was on multiple occasions. It was good for a free read, but I wouldn't pay more than $2 for it.

I wanted to like this book. I really did. I tried. But I couldn't. I just couldn't get into it. Aside from the obvious allusions to real people, some of the things the characters said I just didn't like. I just couldn't get into this book.

This was sooo predictable.

I acknowledge that, it is very difficult to bring out the distinctions of nationalities in a book properly.
But this Frenchman here was so cliché, God help me! -
Very pleasant read. I love the characters and enjoyed their story.
-
cute! The ending felt too rushed. Like they wanted to be done with this story to get on to something else.

It's a shame the snarks are tearing French Kiss apart. This one of my favorites.
