Such a cute story... -
We are taught to leave wild animals alone, to let nature take it's course. But what do we do if we can save an animal? Nicholas finds a baby owl whose mother is dead. Who will feed it? Who will care for it? Should Nicholas take on this responsibility just because he wants a pet? Is a wild owl a pet? Lots of questions open really good conversations about how humans should treat nature and it's creatures.

This is an exciting story about a boy who raises a baby owl. A student read this aloud to me, and his fascination was apparent. Most children and adults, for that matter would be thrilled even to meet a baby owl. This is an engaging story; lots of fun for middle grade elementary students.

It is a very cute story of a boy who wants a pet but due to various things his parents can't get him one. Until one day...

3.5 stars I think owls are nifty. I want a pet owl, but I am not sure how that works.
Nice book interesting, don't care for the illustrations but all in all very nice!
