The Invisible Empire (Agent 13: The Midnight Avenger #1) Reviews

This is not my typical read but found it in a box of my dad's books and thought I'd give it a go.
I don't actually know how I feel about it. Throughout the read I was like, "Is this really stupid or is it awesome?" I really can't decide so I'm going to lean towards "awesome."
It does kind of remind me of Saturday morning cartoons (Justice League, Johnny Quest) or my imagination of old radio programs for kids. The Rocketeer or Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow.. It's got that feel to it.
It was entertaining. -
This was an extremely silly book that I still enjoyed. It is written in the style of a 1930 pulp fiction novel and not surprisingly set in that time frame.
It did interest me enough to maybe look for the next book in the series to see what happens next. -
Impressive modern writing of a pulp style character. This is the 1st book of Agent 13 a man against the world. He has left the secretive organization called the brotherhood to fight against their world dominating plans. Using skills he learned while being trained as their assassin he travels the world battling their plans. Very recommended.

Great Pulp at its Finest!
This book had it all when it comes to old pulps. Thugs, Nazis, lightning guns, beautiful women, a femme fatale, gangsters, and the mysterious Agent 13. -
