I did not find it very fun reading the book after watching the movie, but i was interested in some of the differences of the movie and the books. I think you notice more the things that were left out after watching the movie first. The story itself is really good. I like that in the book i don't picture Miley Cyrus, I dont dig her. The book is basically of this girl that goes to her dads and she just totally hates it there. While she is there she meets a guy (Marcus) and falls head over heels for him, what she doesn't know though is that he was quite popular with the girls and along the way they have trials. Some of them include her dad who was blame for burning down the church and they didn't know that Marcus was actually at fault for it with his friend.
I believe some of the biggest differences between the book and the movie were that in the book Ronnie's parents talked about her brake up with Marcus and in the movie they didn't so that totally something that I noticed. In the book the Pastor was important factor of Ronnie's dad, and not in the movie. In the book Ronnie had her scholarship, obviously not in the movie...
I wouldn't really recommend this book, probably just because since I watched the movie first I didn't really like it. The setting was of course in the beach which is always nice to hear about, the plot was interesting, the book just isn't really intense and neither is the movie. It's just not that type of story. I think some of the weaknesses were probably just that in the book the book was way more centered around Marcus and not in the movie. I would change that, the movie should be more about Ronnie. I would recommend this to teens, mostly girls. I don't think boys would really like it! -
This novel is by my favorite author and I loved this book. The main character Ronnie Miller’s which is more of a boy type of girl. She is also a punk. This story is very sad when it gets to the end and also at the beginning because Ronnie and her little brother Johhna live with her mom because there parents are divorced. In the summer Ronnie's mom takes them with her dad. When they get there Johnna was very happy and excited. Ronnie on the other side was mad because she didn't want to be there. Right away Ronnie went to the beach and met a new friend. She met her at a store. When Ronnie was coming out of the store, the beaper started. They had thought that Ronnie stole something but really it wasn't her. Her new friend put something in there. When Ronnie gets out of the store she finds her true love Will. That is when everything turns around. She still didn't want to be with her dad until she found out that he had stomach cancer. She found out by when he got really sick and he fell down and they took him fast to the hospital. Steve didn't want Ronnie and Johnna to know but they found out. When it was time for them to leave, Ronnie staid so that she could help her dad fight the stomach cancer. Sadly Steve died. When they went to the funeral it was very depressing for Ronnnie, Johnna, and the mom. At the end Ronnie got an amazing surprise. After Christmas, Will surprised Ronnie because he transferred colleges to a New York one so that he could spend time with Ronnie instead of breaking up with her.
While I was reading The Last Song I got so interested that I couldn't stop reading until I had to go to bed. It is a very long book but worth the whole time you read it. It is very interesting because some of the characters like Ronnie's bestfriend is very weird and how the dress and the same with Ronnie. While I was reading some of the words I couldn't understand but when I would look the words up it would make total sense and I could get on with reading that fantastic book. In some parts of the book it is so sweet and it seems like you are seeing the movie when you are actually reading the book. I could not stop reading because the romance was so intense because Ronnie and Will would always get in fights and then get back together. It was so sad when her dad had died because while he was sick her brother Jonna helped him finish a class design for the church that had been burnt down. I would recommend to people that are around 14 because some of the words are a little hard to understand. I would also recommend this book to people that love romance and drama. -
Loved this book! Cried at the end of the book it was really sad when ronnies day died! Love her and will together! They are sweet! Loved this book and want to watch the movie! X

The book I read The Last Song By Hal Leonard Publishing Corporation
was an enjoyable book to read. I Personally enjoyed how it showed how such wonderful family was brought together but at sometimes they had some differences which never got between them. At the end of the novel the family gets more affected when the father passes away but knowing that their father wanted the best for them, character Ronnie decides to finish up her fathers song and plays it at his funeral which I sound so touching. This Novel can bring some to tears I would really recommend it for those who like books about families having a tragic event happening to them and instead of them seeing it in the wrong way they think as it like an encouragement to keep life going. In the end of the book Ronnie takes the best of it and does what she thinks her father would have been proud of and she heads off to college. For any tragic event that happens to someone they should just see the opposite side and move on and do whats beneficial for them instead of being miserable and get nothing accomplished. -

When you pick up a book by Nicholas Sparks, you know you're in for a wealth of love that will hold you all the way to the last page.
The Last Song unfolds the father - daughter love.
Up till mid summer vacation, Ronnie lived with a lie. The lie had drift her away, from her father, for 3 years. Every time he came to New York, to see them, she ignored him and hung out with friends. Never received his calls. It made her believe that men aren't trustworthy. Men aren't cable of love.
Before she'd turn eighteen, and her mom wouldn't be able to force her to do anything, Ronnie and Jonah, her brother, are taken to Wrightsville Beach, to spend the summers with their dad.
Steve Miller played piano and had been a tutor for fifteen years at Juilliard. He now lived in a bungalow on the beach, burying himself in music with a desire to escape from reality.
The summer break starts with a Seafood Festival at the Beach.
Ronnie slips away from the rides and carnival game boots and alone heads toward the pier. To a spot where Beach volleyball tournament was being held. In less than ten minutes, the game seems less interesting, she turns to leave, catching sight of a wayward ball coming to her. She didn't have time to react before he slammed into her, gripping her shoulder in a simultaneous attempt to stop his momentum and prevent her from falling.
Will Blakelee is the richest child of Wrightsville area.
Will encounters her next, while she rescues a child outta problem. Thirdly, when she calls up the pet service to take care of the eggs laid by frog, outside her dad's bungalow, Will turns up. He volunteers at the pet service shop along with working for his father.
Ronnie's simplicity and kindness, wins his heart.
One night in her bed, she realizes the salient efforts her father made all these while to make her feel comfortable. She realizes, how unknowingly, she had start to converse and share and seek solution from him. How unlike her Mom, her father never questioned nor judged nor nagged over her decisions. These realizations, made the coming days a lot brighter.
But no sooner, while sharing a private joke, her father coughed. Loud - wet - and it didn't stop with one cough. Ronnie was frozen in place, her father's face was covered with blood. Steve was suffering from cancer.
Kim, his wife is called to take the children back. Ronnie refuses and stays back with her father. Next day, a package from her mom arrives, and Ronnie knew her mom had done what she'd asked.
Nineteen letters - all of them sent by her dad - all of them ignored and unopened. The truth she is kept away from all these years, unfolds.
Ronnie is satisfied with one thing, of fulfilling her father's Last wish - of wanting Ronnie and Jonah have a summer to remember, and he being a part of it.
Lastly, the novel ends with a beautiful promise.I never stopped loving you, Ronnie. And I never stopped thinking about you. Even if summers do come to an end.

I love the way Nicholas Sparks writes such a touching story that inspires you to re-evaluate life.
This story begins with the main character Ronnie dealing with her emotions of her parents divorce. She is angry and feels alone especially with her relationship with her father. Her summer she is to spend it with her father. You can see how her character grows and handles situations of first love, heart ache and ways she grew in dealing with everything that comes her way. -
I grew up loving this movie and love the book. I’m so glad I read this book I definitely didn’t regret it. I feel this book gave more of an insight to who Ronnie is and her past. It felt more personal and I felt more connected to the characters.
