Hermes Press proudly announces the second volume of its complete reprint of Gold Key Comics' television tie-in of the legendary supernatural suspense series Dark Shadows in a series of five hardcover volumes. The forerunner to today's immensely popular vampire-themed television programs and theatrical films, Dark Shadows still garners serious attention as one of the most memorable TV shows of the last forty years. The comic books to be collected in Hermes Press' completely digitally restored series present archetypal tales of vampires, werewolves, and the supernatural. In addition to reprinting the stories, Volume Two contains a generous supplement of poster art, pin-ups, and documentary material from the show together with essays about the history of Dark Shadows as well as other aspects of the show.

Dark Shadows: The Complete Series Volume 2 (DARK SHADOWS COMP SERIES HC) Reviews

I'm actually pretty impressed with the Gold Key Dark Shadows comic series. The stories flow well and are a quick read, and while the plots sometime seem similar it's still got some pretty original things going on. The art fits the series really well.

Overall this is much better than I went in expecting and I plan to read the entire series.

Volume Two is more of the same as Volume One. There are no continuing storylines. Barnabas has become a vampire again, and the plots revolve around his helping someone else avoid a horrible supernatural fate. If you don't know the characters from the TV show, you really won't know who these people are. The stories defy logic--even if you believe in the supernatural, and the art quality is uneven. The characters don't look the same from panel to panel. Fans of the TV series will get a kick out of this as long as they don't expect too much.

A little dated - obviously based on the old TV series. Kinda became a slightly different version of the same plot every chapter / episode. But still a quick, fun read.

Why does Dr. Julia Hoffman get drawn as a crone?

A fun collection of the Dark Shadows "Gold Key" comics from the late 60's and early 70's.
This is a quick read, and I really enjoyed it!
