Remembering the Forgotten God: An Interactive Workbook for Individual and Small Group Study Reviews

Life Changing.
I've been a Christian a long time. It's not that I didn't understand intellectually about the Spirit, but sometime during my time reading the companion book and this workbook, I started to truly understand His presence in my life. Reading these books drastically changed my "good" relationship with God to an "amazing" one. -
Using this to supplement our small group study and discussion of the Holy Spirit and reading "The Forgotten God."
Great complement to Chan's book; lots of Scripture to dive into throughout the discussion -
Wonderful book on the Holy Spirit's role in a Christian's life. You will learn so much from this study. I would recommend this to anyone seeking a deeper relationship with God!

I read Forgotten God over the summer and thought to myself that I would love to do the accompanying study, but had no one to do it with. A month later, my friend invited me to a Bible study that was just happening to begin this study. I loved taking each chapter week by week and watching the accompanying DVD with Francis Chan presenting an object lesson with our discussion. I highly recommend this study!

This is the accompanying book/workbook to "Forgotten God" by Francis Chan. I give this workbook 5 stars with great enthusiasm because it did what an accompanying workbook/study book is supposed to do for this genre of spiritual growth book.
You can read my review of Forgotten God as well which has great detail about the book and the benefits of the combination of books.
Remembering the Forgotten God is a very good accompaniment which is not always the case for these types of study books. The questions are very appropriate, they are well tied to the original text, but for those in our study group who did not purchase "Forgotten God" or read it, they were still able to follow along and participate on various levels, even if they didn't get the fullness of the teaching and instruction had they read both.
Also, the questions were such that we had great conversations in our study group and many in the group found the discussions and answers to the questions very helpful and insightful. I did exercise some liberties and independence when covering the questions in the handbook in order to focus on a specific point, but that is the prerogative of study group leaders to ensure the best possible outcome of the study and time spent in the corresponding books.
We did not try to cover a chapter a week in this workbook as we went through it, but took 2 or even 3 weeks on some chapters in order for everyone to be able to process the information on a heart level and also feel comfortable sharing whatever was going on internally as they followed along and prayed through the workbook and book.
Personally, I could not, nor could our group have benefited as much as we did from "Forgotten God" without the assistance of "Remembering the Forgotten God" and also being willing to move slowly through the material and not trying to keep to a schedule. If you are leading a small group or bible study of some kind, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND these books for you and your group. The topic (the Holy Spirit) is either misunderstood or not understood at all by so many professing Christians. Moreover, building a strong and biblically based belief and daily trust in the Holy Spirit is essential for any person who sincerely wants to live a life following Jesus. One can not seek to accomplish that without knowing and believing in the role and power of the Holy Spirit in their lives which God has intended and made possible. -
the video series is available on rightnowmedia.com, which serves well in a group setting. if you have a studious group, encourage them to read The Forgotten God, but if not, just the videos are enough to generate discussion. this guide is helpful with discussion questions and scripture references for each video (7 weeks)

Excellent resource about the Holy Spirit.

Awesome. Wish I would have done this in Sunday School or a group setting. The chapter on who the Holy Spirit is was very much right down my alley.

This book was fantastic! A drastic reminder that we must not neglect the Holy Spirit!

I worked through this book with my Bible Study Group. We used the DVD with it, but did not use the full-length book. I also bought the book, but I have not read it yet. I definitely will though! The DVD is probably not completely necessary, but a few of the study questions might not make complete sense without it. You definitely don't need the full book for a study, but I have heard that it helps a lot from other groups who used this series.
My group really enjoyed this book. The questions prompted a lot of great discussions and most of us agreed that we learned a lot about the Holy Spirit. I definitely think of the Holy Spirit differently than I used to and I think it is changing my relationship with God for the better. I definitely recommend this book both for individuals, but especially for group study. -
This book got me to think deeper about the Holy Spirit and his affect on my life. I had never studied the Holy Spirit and I realized how little I knew. i would definitely recommend for anyone who wants to grow in their relationship with God.

One of the best books Ive read on the holy Spirit. Walks that balance of the Holy Spirit is God, alive and active, but also, the in the Bible, Gods Word is suffienct and authoritative. Have used it multiple times for Bible Studys or discipleshipe

Excellent book! This is one of the best spiritual books I've ever. This book will help you to see the Holy Spirit in a whole different way as an essential member of the Trinity. If you are a disciple of Christ I highly recommend this book!

I was really interested in this study, but felt it left my craving more. I don't feel like I really came away with anything new I didn't already have.
