The Spider and the Green Butterfly: Vodoun Crossroads of Power Reviews
-
Highly overrated, typically overpriced, and in general rather mediocre to anyone with any depth of knowledge concerning Vodou or the occult.

I, unfortunately, had to give up on this book at 90/192 and add it to my DNF. While the first 50 pages are very informative about Vodoun, the practices and people and culture surrounding it and some terminology that everyone should know, anything after that was strictly related to practicing it. Because I am not of that culture, nor am I involved or initiated, I felt a little weird continuing. I didn't feel right consuming that sort of information when I wasn't going to put it into practice, and now, I'm not sure I really vibe with the book existing anyways.
If you want some good info about vodoun? Read up to Chapter 5. Everything past that is for practicing knowledge. -
It was a good book about Vodoun. I enjoyed it even though Vodoun is not for me, as I am much more into Eastern and Egyptian Mysticism.
