All the Pretty Horses by Cormac Mc Carthy: Teacher Guide (Novel Units) Reviews
-
Fantastic. Cormac McCarthy is a national treasure.
-
I don´t believe that there is or has been a better American storyteller. McCarthy´s characters are people you know, they bear the brunt of being a human. For better or worse, they atone for their mistakes. His descriptions of nature put the reader there. He describes every sense and feeling better than any writer I´ve ever read. In a nutshell, this book is about true love. Will a man sacrifice everything for the woman he loves? If that sounds mushy, then you have not read anything by McCarthy before.
-
It can be an incredibly dry read at times, but it also contains some of McCarthy's prettiest prose.
