The Unidentified Redhead (Redhead, #1) Reviews

When I first started reading this, I got the sense that I might actually have a four-star on my hands. By the time I got to the end, I was thinking, OK, maybe only three stars. Even giving it three stars, however, seemed wrong somehow. I contemplated reviewing it yesterday (when I finished it), but wasn't even sure what I would rate it, much less what I could possibly write about it. So I semi-read it again. I skimmed through, rereading parts I'd thought were funny, scrutinizing passages that seemed awkward the first time through, really trying to get a sense of what it was that turned me off about this story. Surprisingly, I was able to figure it out; this book just tries too damn hard. It tries so hard to be zany, goofy, funny fun-fun that it inevitably stumbles into the realm of "uncomfortably obnoxious". Look, I have a lot in common with Grace Sheridan, but even being the type to be blunt and crass and sarcastic, I'm not switched on all the time. Grace is so hyper that every time I read about her drinking coffee, all I could think was, No! Stop! The constant "zingers" back and forth between Grace and Jack, while humorous at first, quickly began to grate on my nerves until I wondered whether these two could ever be serious with one another. Because they almost never are. When they try to be, the situation becomes increasingly uncomfortable until they fall right back into their old pattern of acting like sugared-up 15-year-olds. In Jack's case, it sort of makes sense since he's a) a guy and b) 24 years old. But Grace? Grace is a 33-year-old career woman, and while I admired her ability to be goofy, I would have respected her a lot more had she acted like an adult every once in a while. It's all about balance, and these two just don't have it. The entire book was like this:
It got old, fast.
Aside from that, there were a few other things that bothered me. The fact that Ms. Clayton kept spelling 'lightning' incorrectly grated on me, especially since she used the spelling 'lightening' for both the atmospheric phenomenon and to describe a lessening in weight/variance in shade. There are few things more irritating to me than simple spelling ignorance. Even more off-putting, however, was Jack's lip biting and Grace's oh my-ing. I hated
Fifty Shades of Grey. I never want to read it again. Lip biting and "oh my" need to be thrown on the literary shit pile and forgotten. Forever.
There was also the token "gay", who was so stereotypically fabulous, he might as well have been walking around like this:
Now, this isn't to say the book doesn't have its good points. A lot of the dialogue is genuinely funny. I just wish Ms. Clayton had toned it down some. I wanted to read about a grown-up love affair, not some twisted tale of overgrown teenagers who couldn't be serious if you paid them.
Really, the entire thing reads like a woman in her 30's with a Peter Pan complex decided to publish her Robert Pattinson fantasy. -
Quirky, sexy, fun with lots of heart. I loved it!
4.5 stars!
Grace Sheridan has always had stars in her eyes and wanted to be ”famous, famous, god damned famous.” After a failed attempt straight out of college, she is now 33-years-old and has moved back to LA.
I became one of those sad sacks— I only lasted in Los Angeles for eighteen months. I limped away, feeling like a failure for the first time in my life. I let the city and the industry beat me. But now I was back. It took me ten years to make it back and this time… I wasn’t going anywhere.
She moves in with her best friend, Holly who stayed in LA all those years ago and is now running her own talent management agency. The book starts out at Holly’s home, it’s the launch party for her new business. While at the party, Grace meets Jack Hamiltion, a 24-year-old actor who Holly represents. He just got cast as the lead role for a highly anticipated movie based on a series of erotic romance short stories. Woman are going NUTS for these books and this new movie so Jack is just about to be launched into super stardom. Grace has never heard of these books, the movie, or of Jack. But Holly makes quick work pimping them out… “Jesus, fine. Calm down,” I said. “Did you just squeal? Yes, I will freaking read them,” (LOL! Sound like anyone you know?)
When Grace first meets Jack she’s of course attracted to him, but knows he’s younger than her and doesn’t think too much of it. Toward the end of the evening they have a couple brief encounters and their banter is some of the best I’ve read. There is no denying they have some sort of chemistry and they can go back and forth for days. Jack, being the down to earth guy that he is finds Grace’s humor, wit, and quirky charm appealing and he makes quick work pursuing her and finding little ways to see her.
“OK, you caught me. I wanted to see you. Is that so terrible? I’m bored, and you’re fascinating.”
There are texts, phone calls, and little outings full of funny incidents. Nothing goes quite right for Grace, but Jack is right there through it all laughing and teasing, making it all better and adding to the fun. They are just so good together, they get each other, make each other laugh and their sexual chemistry is off the charts - there is LOTS and LOTS of sexy time for these two.
“You will be the death of me, Sheridan. I can already tell.” He sighed, unfolding his long legs to get out of the car.
“Yes, but it will be a good death. I’ll be gentle. You won’t even know I’m coming.”
He turned back and grinned. “That’s what she said.”
Perfection.
“Oh, and Grace?” he continued, walking toward his car. He stopped when he reached it and leaned back against the door.
“I will definitely know when you’re coming. And so will you,” he said, biting down on that lower lip.
Fucking Perfection.
Grace is a little immature for her age, she’s got baggage and minor confidence issues, but I loved her. She had the funniest internal dialogue. Jack seems mature for his age, he’s smart, funny, silly, but can bring the sexy - BIG time! I absolutely LOVED him. And did I mention, he’s a Brit? Oh yeah.
The age difference really was a non-issue in my eyes. They both look young, they’re hot, they like each other, and it’s good. He is the reason to her neurotic ways and they have such a great balance. I love that this book is pretty low angst. There really is no drama for the sake of drama, no stupid, no lies. It’s all very straight forward and functional as they navigate their new situation and challenges that arise (mostly brought on by their careers).“I love that you’ve become so important to me,” he added, gazing at me from under heavily lidded eyes.
“I love that you are so totally wrapped up in my life now,” I answered, my heart thumping wildly… what were we saying?
The dialogue, banter, and jokes in this were hilarious. It got a wide range of reactions out of me from just a smile, a little laugh, maybe a snort here, a belly laugh there. It was hysterical. With comedy, there really is that balance of what is overkill. There were times that things were a bit much, nicknames were overused, crazy exaggerations (will power of champions, anyone?) and such, but overall it was just downright funny.
The interactions between Grace and Jack were amazing and I always had a grin on my face. But their friends Nick and Holly (her best friend and his manager) have some awesome moments as well. She has no problem putting Grace on the spot.”Yeah, she’s right here. She’s in the shower, in fact… Oh, Jack! I told Grace the funniest joke about the British invading her hoo—Wait, what?… Hold on… Grace, Jack would like you to know that he has seen the pictures and he thinks you were pointing that shrimp at him far too aggressively… No, she isn’t acknowledging you. She’s now banging her head against the shower tiles… Oops, now she’s glaring at me… she’s turning off the shower, Jack… she’s coming toward me… she’s naked, Jack… and angry… she’s naked and angry, Jack… you would probably love angry, naked Grace. It’s something to see. She’s hitting me, Jack… I think she’s going to take the phone away from…”
My favorite thing about this book was just the good feeling I had while reading it. I expected this to be a light read, and it was, but it did have some depth for me. It wasn’t just funny, funny, funny and nothing else. I really felt for these characters and I felt their connection. It got to me and I was pleasantly surprised by that. It has it’s flaws and things that made me say, “hmmm, really?” which is why I have been wavering over 4 or 5 stars, but overall I was a gushing idiot over this book so what the hell? I'm rounding up!
I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a light, silly, sexy, steamy read with some heart and can take a bit of over the top humor. It was exactly what I needed right when I needed it and I'm going straight on to the next book in the series!♥
He was the yin to my yang, the frick to my frack, the toast to my Chex.

What a fun book!! The perfect blend of funny (hilarious actually!), sassy, sexy, goofy and swoony! Definitely the a great lighthearted read for after a very emotional book :)
The book had me laughing out loud more times than I could count. Its a fun, romantic story about Grace Sheridan, a 33 year old actress giving Hollywood a second shot, and Jack Hamilton, the 24 year old next hotshot bigtime Hollywood star actor. They meet by chance at a party and have this really flirty, fun connection. She's never even heard of his big movie and to him, seems like the most 'real' girl he's met in a long time. And after a few weeks of (brilliant and hilarious) banter, its clear they are both very into each other and want to explore things further. Banter turns to serious flirting, which turns to romantic beach strolls, which turns an adorable relationship.
I really loved that the relationship really "built" itself. It didn't just - poof! - happen. The progression was realistic and so much fun to read.
“He pushed me back up against the door, slamming me against the doorbell. I heard it ring out.
"Coming!" I heard Holly say as she clicked across the floor to the front door.
"Not quite, but she’s close." He chuckled, removing his hand and leaving me breathless and rosy cheeked.”
Jack is totally swoony - he's smart, funny, charming, totally into her, down-to-earth... all round awesome guy!
"He had known exactly what I needed and when I needed it. It was as if he was put on this earth for the sole purpose of giving me pleasure. Who am I to argue with intelligent design?"
Grace was a totally non-annoying heroine - very tongue-and-cheek, very real, with a wonderful POV.
“The guy looks young enough to be your kid, Grace.
Yes, but only if I’d really slutted it up in junior high…”
I loved how committed they were to each other - especially once they started getting serious and admitting their commitments. It was so refreshing having a story that didn't create drama from jealous ex's, stupidity on the part of the characters, etc. I mean, sure there's a bit of worry (he IS an uber-famous hot guy who every female on the planet is lusting after... so that's bound to create some insecurities, also there's media scrutiny, their age difference, etc ) but he's so quick to reassure her and never does anything to make her feel or think that he's anything other than committed to her. Its very sweet... and at the same time, utterly hilarious. Seriously at times, it was like they were young teens teasing each other over the silliest things that literally made my cheeks hurt from laughing.
And there was SO much sex - not too much, but enough that it was a pretty hot read. Car sex. Wall sex. Bed sex. Closet sex (yes, closet sex). Shower sex. Bathtub sex. Hotel sex.... I'm sure I'm missing some here, but you get the picture lol.
"That night went down (pun intended and acknowledged) in history, forever known as, Hamilton:5/Sheridan:Lost Track After 17. It was probably the best night I ever spent in a bed with a man.
And on the floor with a man.
And up against the door with a man.
And, God, watch over and protect us, on the floor of the closet with a man."
The book ended on a bit of a cliffhanger... she got a big job in NYC and leaves at the end of the book while he stays in LA but I've been assured that the ending of book 2 is a HEA so I'm looking forward to starting it tomorrow and seeing Grace and Jack handle their long-distance relationship. I predict oodles of phone sex :P
I wavered back and forth a bit on the rating... at first I wasn't sure if I should give 5 stars to a book that didn't make me clutch at my heart or make me cry super emotional tears, but then I realized that was totally unfair. Why should only the emotional books be given 5 stars. To me, this was a perfect 5 star FUN read :)
How I see Jack and Grace: -
DNF- 60%
I picked this up wanting to read something light and funny.
For some reason, I had an impression that this book is a good chick-lit and will make me laugh out loud but I was sorely disappointed.
I found the main protagonist (Grace) really really irritating. She was 30+ but acted like a teenager. She is attracted to Jack (who is younger to her) and they enter into a relation.
This is fine but she keeps on thinking about her previous sexual encounters before she met Jack which made me feel Icky.
There is no humor and I did not like the writing. I felt the story wasn't just going anywhere. I had to force my self to reach where I did, just to know if something happens before I gave up.
All in all, this book is definitely not for me and I will not be reading this series further. -
Why does this book have high ratings? So annoyed. Grrr
This was one stupid, draggy, obnoxious, idiotic, atrocious, boring, unbelievably irritating read for me. I hate this book. Downright hate it. I don't think I have ever hated a book but I hate this with so much passion. From the beginning to the very end, I hated it.
Grace Sheridan is a fool. That's what she is. She is thirty fucking three years old and behaves a lot more immature than my eight year old cousin. I don't know if there exists any thirty three year old like Grace but I honestly have never met someone that old and yet so childish. She is aspiring to be an actress, has no job, lives with her best friend, somehow magically has enough money to have bought a property in L.A., no mention of what she did before she moved back to L.A., and she's hot. No guy can turn her down, she's that flaming hot, Okay? She's hot and if you say otherwise, your argument is invalid.
She meets Jack, the new British "it boy" of Hollywood at a party that her best friend hosts. Her best friend represents Jack Hamilton and it's all lust at first sight. Okay, not really lust, even worse, it was love at first sight.
There is a difference between seeing someone for the first time, maybe even developing an instant attraction towards them, and immediately falling in love with them. Somehow, that's how it is for Jack. He starts chatting her up the very moment he sees her. There is nothing wrong with that. Everyone flirts, right? But talking about a girl's boobies the first time you converse with her? That's just creepy. I don't care how hot you are but if you mention my boobs in the first conversation we are having, get the fuck off. Seriously, go away!
“Yes, yes, I guess I am looking at your boobies. They're quite nice boobies,” he managed to choke out between laughs.
How is this guy in anyway Charming? No, please do tell me. Looks like I'm missing the point here. And little miss stupid Grace flirts right back. This is her brilliant response:
“They are quite nice, that's true. And all mine. You probably don't get to touch a lot of real bona fide natural boobies here in L.A., but there's still a few of us rocking the real stuff.” -Grace
This book is entirely bland through out. There is absolutely no character growth or plot development. From the first line to the last line, has remained to be the same impassive story. It's a plain, boring romance novel about a man and woman falling in love, in Hollywood. But every love story has a bit of a problem right? And the problem here? There is a nine years gap between them. And guess who is older? Grace! That's right, Jack is twenty four while Grace is Thirty Three. I wouldn't have had a problem with that, I'm pretty open minded about all this. Age is just a number, after all. But Grace and Jack are worse than two teenagers in love.
They have absolutely no level of maturity. Both of them are fucking crazy. Grace is Jack's "crazy nut girl" and Jack is Grace's "sweet nuts".
Um...What? I think even I can come up with better terms of endearment than that.
Also there was this whole problem with them being together, doing everything together —all second base, third base, sleeping and showering together but somehow they didn't want to have sex till the very end of the novel (like till about 87% of the book). Why? Is something wrong? Oh no, nothing's wrong. They're just fucking stupid.
Jack and Grace are two adults here. And adults, as far as I know, have sex with someone they want to bone without making it a big deal or fussing over it. But not Jack and Grace. They want to have sex with each other, they even tease each other about it but never fucking doing it!!!!!!
And finally when they talk about having sex and decide to finally do it, they still carry on to make it a big deal.
When I woke up, it was like Christmas morning. And by that, I mean I was so excited to drive to Santa Barbara and have the hotel sex that I began jumping on the bed, singing a happy tune. Jack was, of course, still sound asleep, and he groaned from his place beneath the covers. I continued to jump, and sang, in a tune that sounded oddly like “A Tisket A Tasket.”
“A shagging, a shagging, I'm going to get a shagging!”
“Hey, get up! Get up! I thought you said the shagging would begin today,” I teased, taking my toe and pulling the covers down slowly.
Uh oh...
“And I'm warning you, man. You said you'd shag me today,” I repeated, now bouncing harder than ever. The bed was squeaking, inappropriately.
“I'm gonna spank you today if you keep that up,” he intoned.
But he never does spank her. Like I said, this book is draaaaaaagy! It's dragged so much for no reason. And I don't know what's the problem with Jack. He is probably the only twenty four year old man who has so much control that he can go on without having sex with a girl he loves for almost an eternity. Hats off for his control. Not.
Finally when Grace is desperate for a "shagging" he reasons out with her.
“First of all, because you have not packed,” he began.
“I plan on being naked most of the time,” I answered quickly.
“Secondly, the hotel won't even check us in until noon.”
“We can do it in the car,” I quipped, trying to get my hands free so I could grab onto him. I was more persuasive when I could touch him. He knew this, and so he kept both of my hands high above my head, pinned to the bed.
“Thirdly, has it escaped your attention that it isn't even 6:00 a.m.?”
I stopped cold. I looked at the window and noticed the sun had barely risen. The freaking birds weren't even chirping. And I was bouncing on the bed like a mad woman singing about an upcoming shag. I looked from the window back to his face, now fully awake and glaring down at me, but not without a hint of humor.
Gulp.
Grace is hot but she is a girl after all. She needs to feel insecure, doesn't she? So she asks Jack indirectly if he would ever sleep with anyone else while she goes away to New York for the television show that she got the role for.
And Mr. Sexy Jack says:
“Grace, I think I can honestly say, with no second thoughts, that there isn't another pair of boobies on the planet that I'd rather have in my hands than yours. Sleeping or otherwise,” he stated, with a glance at my chest.
I got it.
*gag*
Seriously, enough with the boobies already!
It's finally time for them to have sex. And it's still such a big deal to Grace. She acts like a Virgin.
I felt nervous as we approached the cottage, would we have the sex now?
Don't you want to have the sex?
Yes, yes of course. But would I have time to change into my sweetly slutty new lingerie?
They finally do it
“Fuck, Grace, you feel amazing…Christ Grace, I love watching you ride me…God, your tits are brilliant."
Jack is so good at dirty sex talk. *eye roll*
So yeah, they have sex, they confess their love for each other, have sex again, again... And again and that's it.
The End. -
Actual Rating: 2.5 Stars
The Unidentified Redhead is definitely an entertaining book. It is light, cute, humorous and energetic.
I liked Grace’s personality, she had built herself up and as a result she was a very positive and spirited woman. Really, she was like a kid with candies half the time!
Jack, well, what’s not to like, he is the complete package. But… was it me, or Jack was way too perfect, charming an easygoing? Kind of simple really in his perfection, lacking. He needs more spark and development.
I don’t see the 9 years of age difference between the characters as such a big deal as it seems to be in the book. I understand that Grace can be insecure about it, is completely comprehensible that women can have insecurities being 33 and dating a hot and famous 24 year old; but I don’t get the outside shock about it, it said in the book that she appears younger than 30 and then she is called a cougar and not even seen as a possible love interest for Jack. I don’t get it, why? It is not that big of a gap. Maybe I am facing some cultural differences here with the USA and that’s what’s troubling me.
I really enjoyed the sex scenes, and I don’t mean it in a hot way really, I mean it more in a fun way. They have tons and tons of “sex” and the way it is told is spirit lifting, sweet and funny. Oooh the beginning of love!! Sigh…
My big problem with the book is that I felt cheated at the “end” . I know The Unidentified Redhead is the first installment on a series of three books, but this particular book has no resolution. It has no end of conflict, of plot or of anything, hell it doesn't even have a cliffhanger! I have read many series and even though you always have more installments and more story to be told, there is always a felling of completion, you KNOW you have finished a book. In this case I don’t know that, I mean I do know it as in my mind does, but not my feelings, my feelings are convinced that the last part of the book ran away and went missing but end it didn’t. Two words - FREAKING HILARIOUS! What a great book!! I literally laughed my way through the whole thing. The banter is absolute perfection!
So first we have Grace who is a crazy, feisty, witty, 33 year old. And then there is 24 year old Super Sexy Jack Hamilton... celebrity, gorgeous, funny, sensational name, and he's British with a hot accent. Score!
I love these characters, I wish they were real. Hell, I wish I was Grace and could have my very own Jack! They are both foul mouthed, smutty and sarcastic, with absolutely no shame. They have a love of all things 80s (repeated references to the Coreys and NKOTB) and they both have the sense of humour of 13 year old boys (“heh heh, you said nuts” – I think I laughed at that as much as they did!). Brilliant! And of course there’s the sizzling chemistry and wicked banter.
I had been told that this was the dirty version of
Love Unscripted, so I knew it was going to be smutty… I didn’t quite realise HOW smutty it was going to be. There was A LOT of sex in this book, and a lot of not-sex . In fact I can’t quite believe how much not-sex there was, and how descriptive it was. And then when there actually was sex. Wow! So yeah, if that’s not your thing, probably best to avoid this book.
But there’s no bad guy, no crazy-ass psycho exes and no conflict, just the fun of watching this couple get together and fall in love. And best of all there were no games! They were both honest about what they wanted and how they felt. There was one moment where Grace got a bit stupid and insecure, but Jack was right there with her and wasted no time setting her straight. I loved that! It’s very refreshing after reading a long stream of books with the heroine never feeling worthy of her man.
The ending is a bit teary (not in a bad way), and I can’t wait to see what the sequel has in store these two! -
4,5 Crazy Stars!
So, Grace, aspiring actress, moves to LA with Holly, her best-friend and a talent manager. One night she meets Jack, that had just being chosen for the role of main actor in the movie adaptation of short erotic stories that are making the women crazy (Is just me or this is basically the “50 Shades of Grey Effect” in fiction?), so he’s basically in the rise to stardom.
She is a few years older than him, nine to be exactly and things start pretty lightly and in a “friends” base between them. But eventually things change and well, you see where I am going.
But Hollywood life isn’t easy, and they will have to figure out how to keep something when the whole world believes that has the right to an opinion about it.
I haven’t laughed so much with a book in a while. Basically, this as me through the whole book:
(Unfortunately, Christmas is too far away!)
I already knew Alice Clayton from “Wallbanger”, and one thing is for sure: If you are ever in need of a book low on angst, with pretty good steam, sweet romance and a lot of laughs, Clayton is definitely your woman.
Rating: 4,5 Stars.
Storyline: Original and with some twists you will not expect. Sweet and fun! : )
Writing Style: Addictive and easy to connect with. First person, female POV.
Character Development: Grace is a little immature and Jack is probably a little too mature for both of their ages, so the age difference isn’t noticeable at all. Both of them were pretty funny and sweet and I loved them both. Jacks has something quite sexy about him and definitely made the top of my favorite British book characters.
Steam: Some hot moments.
HEA: -
I'm going to do another one of my reviews in reverse, where I get the small gripes out of the way before stating why the book was worth my time.
My review pendulum is going crazy over this book. I know my thoughts are sitting at around a 3.5 star rating but I don't know whether to round up or down! Unidentified Redhead was a fun and sexy read. In fact, it was repeatedly fun and sexy.
So what's the problem you ask? Well let me go right ahead and answer that for you. I'm going to ask you to imagine this : picture your most hyper friend with her arms raised and running around like a chicken with her head cut off screaming, "WAHHHHHHAGGGGHHHHH!!!!" Then you'll understand Grace. She's absolutely a riot, but she's also definitely amped up to the extreme. Because of this and the few things I'll mention below, I reserve the right to drop my rating to a 3 at a later date. But for now, I'll stick with the fun factor and go up to a 4.
This book was funny. There were several giggle-worthy moments. However, there was no real break in between one-liners and silly scenarios. The first couple of times it happened during sexy time, I found it endearing. Then I started to want them to get down to just being sexy. At some point, funny starts to become a gimmick. Scaling the humor back a bit would have made the book's best one-liners and banter stand out that much more.
As well, I found myself grow weary at the nicknames a-plenty. A cute little personalized nickname can be adorable but Jack and Grace had several for each other. Not only did they nickname each other, but they nicknamed body parts (oonie) and had cutesy little phrases like "holy chex mix." Again, if this had been reigned in just a touch, it would have made the fun nicknames stand out as even more endearing.
But...at least they avoided the use of baby! Score a point for this :
"Blech, don't call me baby, you have enough nicknames for me already."
"Oh, suck it, Sweet Nuts," I taunted.
Hyper reactions and ridiculous nicknames aside, I had a blast while reading this book. Smutty time was satisfying and I found the characters to be people I'd want to know. Not only was the banter completely amusing between Jack and Grace, but it was also quite refreshing between Grace and her best friend. We've probably all had one of those friends who likes to mess with us and not let us off the hook for things. Here's some of Holly's quirky personality -
"Oh, would you shut up about your historical nonfiction," Holly interrupted. "Honestly, it's like you're sprinting towards the retirement home."
"Get on the stick woman. Literally. Get. On. That. Stick!"
Jack was yummy with a capital Y. First off, he's British. Described as just over 6 ft. with waves of golden and caramel hair, green eyes, build noted as slim - yet firm, and rocking what I assumed to be a killer grin, I was liking this one. We all need a break from the typical massive, dark, and brooding alphas every so often (even if those guys are yummy too). I especially loved that he wore clothes that fit his body without being too "baby gap" tight. I'm thinking California casual without a hint of meathead in sight. Yes, please.
Final thought - If you need a fun book to shake yourself out of a rut and won't mind a couple of hyper personalities and humor at every turn even when you're not necessarily wanting it, I'd say that Unidentified Redhead would probably be a great fit. Plus, there's lots of sexy, sexy moments.
I leave you with this random fun nonsense :
Of course a seagull shit on my head. -
This book was cheesy but oh so hilarious! If you are serious and can't take some lighthearted banter than stay away....
I'm telling you I spent most of the book
Grace Sheridan is a 33 year old aspiring singer/actress who currently lives with her best friend Holly.
She meets up and coming heartthrob, Jack Hamilton and is smitten over the English actor. Only problem is he is only 24 and a hot commodity.
Jack is so sweet, hot and funny!
They go ahead and get together and the rest is just hi-jinx. They are hilarious together!
And LOTS of sexxy times....They even managed to make some of those encounters hilarious.....
I absolutely loved the relationship between Holly and Grace. You know its a great friendship when you call her an asshead! HAHA
Nick and Grace's friendship was hilarious too....Everyone loves the gay BFF!
Best advice I can give you regarding this book.....

My Grace and Jack:
Grace Sheridan, a 33 years old actor wannabe, tries her luck in Hollywood for the second time. When she meets sexy British rising star, Jack Hamilton, they "click" immediately. They understand each other, chemistry is there too but Jack is 9 years younger... Can this fact prevent them from having affair?
At first, I was kind of reluctant to read about romance with that much older woman. Nine years is a lot, especially when one from the couple is young man like Jack. I was not sure what to expect. But Grace is quite crazy person, clearly more immature than Jack and to be honest, they fit perfectly together!
But what worked for Jack and Grace as couple, did not work for me as a reader and I found myself a little bit bored while reading their story.
I was missing this addictive feeling I love so much when reading a truly great story. I did not enjoy this book and I definitely wasn't swept off my feet by it.
Moreover, sex scenes were a little bit over the top. Couple of years ago I would be probably ok with them. But my reading preferences changed a lot and I couldn't overlook the fact that heroine lost count on how many time she came during one night. I mean, multiples are real, but having more than 17 orgasms just from oral? Come on...
If you are looking for angst and drama, you won't find it here. This is purely a leisure reading for sure.

Reading Is My Breathing -
PERFECT TEN Stars!!
Even better the second time around.
Will write up a review when I finish the third book.......
Did you ever read a book that you just LOVED so much that you had "butterflies" in your stomach?
Well, this book had me feeling this way.
AND reading it for the second time didn't diminish those feelings whatsoever.
If anything, they were INTENSIFIED!!
I can't believe I forgot how amazing this story is and just how PERFECT Jack and Grace are.
Grace is beautiful inside and out.
She is the funniest character I've ever come across in a book!
I LOVE HER!!!
JACK, OH MY GOD!!
HE. IS. LUSH!!!!!!
I love this gorgeous man!!
He's just as funny and holy hell, it seems his life mission is to please Grace sexually until her brain turns to mush!!
A guy that gives good ORAL is a guy you want to keep around!! LOL
These two spend CHAPTERS just giving and receiving ORAL!!
I was almost about to combust just waiting for when they would finally do the deed!
When it happens, GEEZ, it's SUPER HOT!!
Another HUGE reason I loved this story was the age difference factor here. Grace is 9 years older than Jack, but Jack is actually the mature one in this relationship!
That was pretty refreshing!
These two characters love each other so unconditionally, it's quite beautiful!
They can't keep their hands off of each other and they do "funny" like no other couple out there!!
Gotta love a couple that likes to chill in bed watching old episodes of the "Golden Girls"!!
"The Unidentified Redhead" will always be a Perfect Ten for me!!
If you haven't read this series, you should definitely give it a go. :)
"Actually, I'm Super Sexy Jack Hamilton."
He was too much. I couldn't take the pressure, so I panicked. Sexy and in control Grace left and twelve-year-old dork Grace took her place.
"Heh heh, you said nuts," I burst out. My self edit button was now turned off for good.
Then he touched my skin. Purposefully. Pointedly. Nowhere near platonically.
Sparks. Sparks. Sparks. Hot sparks. Flashing sparks. Lightening bolt sparks. Hal Sparks? Jesus, Mary, and Joseph sparks.
"Oh, Jesus, Grace, a seagull just shit on your head," he stated, beginning to shake.
"What?" I shouted, springing up to run in circles.
Of course a seagull shit on my head.
His laughter rang out down the beach.
"Please, like you don't know how hot it makes you look! You with your biting down on your lower lip and your accent and your curly hair...you look like you're gonna throw me up against the wall and make me scream your name!"
If I could hear Jack Hamilton say one word for the rest of my life, it would be cock.
"Sweet Nuts, I don't remember anything after you ripped my panties off. I think I may have blacked out."
In the span of mere weeks, Jack Hamilton had turned my world upside down. He made me feel things I hadn't felt in years and I was grateful to him for it. I had gone through years of quiet hell and I had all but forgotten what it was like to be loved, which is why I think I fought this so long. He loved me thoroughly and completely and while there was a part of me that was still looking over my shoulder to see who he was really looking at, I was coming to understand it.
For whatever reason, he needed me as I needed him. And that was it.
He was the yin to my yang, the frick to my frack, the toast to my Chex.
We had never stood a chance trying to fight this--for me he was the one. -
This was super fun. Alice Clayton seems to write very cute romances without a ton of tension -- was I ever in doubt that Grace and Jack have True Love Forever? Nah. But I had a great time hanging out with these two. I love that Grace is 9 years older than Jack and that it was an issue but not an Issue.
I'm definitely going to sprinkle some more Alice Clayton books through my reading to cheer up between all these dark fantasies. -
I'm trying really hard to get through this book, but I'm having a really difficult time. I feel like I'm reading a really bad attempt at a comedy version of 90210 the later years. This book has more cliche's then any book I have ever read. It feels like the author just watch a bunch of over the top unrealistic movies about life in LA, and that's where her research ended. This book just tries so hard. Nothing in it feels natural. The attempt at jokes are over the top, and even the friendship between Holly and Grace just feels forced. I read this book, because it was suggested after reading the "Seduction and Snacks" series, but this book can't even begin to hold a candle to Tara Sivec's writing. I hate not finishing a book, but this book just might be one of the few, that no matter how hard I try... I just can't get through it.
-
Not safe.
I've come to the conclusion that Alice Clayton's books are not for me. Too often, the h makes a fool of herself in front of the H, or there's OW drama. She's a good writer, but I don't care for her subject matter.
Just my $.02. -
I think I have just read one of the funniest books in a very very long time!! I LOVED it...I LOVED Jack and Grace...I LOVED EVERYTHING about this book!!! Jack and Grace are now one of my favourite couples.
Jack and Grace's story was amazingly well written addictively so..transferring every day sarky school boy humour and quick wit into a written piece of work which is really hard to achieve!! I literally laughed so hard till I cried and suffered from an achy jaw to an achy tummy from laughing and smiling all the way through. The banter and dialogue between Jack and Grace was classic genius. The side characters like Holly and Nick equally so!! And don't even get me started on the yumminess...HOT - a complete shag fest !!!! Steamy humour...who would have thought...BRILLIANT!!! The sexual innuendos alongside the one liners.. the "Sweet Nuts"...the "Penis Heaven"...The Seagull Poo...The writing rude things on shower doors..."The British are coming"
Jack: “It’s always the accent that drives you American women crazy. I’d no idea you fancied it, too…”
Grace: “Oooh, fancied it. Say more like that.”
“Like what, Grace?”
“Talk British to me.”
“Dustbins.”
“More.”
“Crumpets.”
“More!”
“Knickers.”
“Say put another shrimp on the barbie!”
“Grace, that’s Australian.”
“Say it!”
“Fine. Put another shrimp on the barbie. Bloody hell.”
Seriously I could go on and on...HILARIOUS!!! (but also endearingly sweet, gooey and HOT!!!)
Grace is one of my favourite heroines, she is down to earth, hilarious in a sarcastic and juvenile way, completely like-able and real. I really got her, she shares my sense of humour..though I do not claim to be anywhere near as funny as her ;0)
Jack...sigh...Jack...well he is without doubt one of my FAVORITE male characters!! He is gorgeous, HOT, completely lovable but best of all he has a cracking sense of humour...!!!
"He pushed me back up against the door, slamming me against the doorbell. I heard it ring out.
"Coming!" I heard Holly say as she clicked across the floor to the front door.
"Not quite, but she’s close." He chuckled, removing his hand and leaving me breathless and rosy cheeked."
"I love you too, Gracie…Always," he deadpanned, holding up a maxi pad.
Right...quick blurb
Grace, 33 - has moved back to L.A. and is living temporarily with her best friend Holly (who is hilarious!!). Grace wants to take another shot at landing a role as an actress preferably on the stage and in music. She tried it when she was younger but didn't get very far, now she's older, wiser, and more confident. Holly hosts a party one night and her new client Jack Hamilton, 24 - the next BIG thing turns up.. meets Grace...and so the story of Jack and Grace begins.....
I cannot recommend this book highly enough..(I am straight onto the next "Crazy Nut and George")..it has just about everything that will make you laugh as well as make you hot and bothered and come over all unnecessary!!! LOL... Enjoy ;0) -
Wow! This book was the perfect mixture of smart, funny, sweet, sexy and sassy! I loved it! Grace was hilarious! And Jack was so funny and charming! There banter back and forth just cracked me up! I loved Holly too. Cannot wait to dig in to the second book!

3 Stars
This book had me conflicted. It started off rather well; very funny. I liked the characters and the story plot or at least the concept and where it started out. The cast of secondary characters was nice too. But, it didn’t work all the time for me and in the end, fell very short of the mark.
What did I like / not like -- in this case the exact thing you appreciate may be the books Achilles heel:
1 – Humor. Grace was a total nut job and had such a sense of humor. She was almost British in her dryness and then, on a dime, she would switch and have very blatant almost slapstick humor [almost like the 3 Stooges]. I was puzzled at times, but all good. Then it became too much. You could tell the humor was used as filler. It became OTT and even monotonous in places. Humor, for the sake of it .. becomes something else. Rather like a book that fills with meaningless sex.
2 – I thought the story lacked depth. We have two main characters; Jack and Grace. Grace is 33 and has decided to “restart” her acting career. She moves back to Los Angeles and moves in with her dear friend Holly. Holly just happens to be a manager/agent for actors. Holly hosts a party for some of her clients and we meet Jack. Jack is 24 and an actor on the brink. He has just completed a movie, yet to be released, that rivals Twilight in “star maker” power. He and Grace hit it off immediately. Good so far.
Until about 58% of the way through the book, these two get to know each other – about 3 weeks worth. They have shouting orgasms. Jack has very talented fingers, a delightful tongue and wonder hands. Until the 80% mark, these two give each other pleasure, but without involving the penis. Yep, no penis. Grace wanted it to be special. All it was for me was monotonous. I should have known, the very first night these two were together, he had 5 orgasms [yep, this is what she said], and she stopped counting at 17. Okay, in order to count this high, for me you’d need a penknife and a bedpost. Seriously? This was all at about 40% or so into and I should have known. Now, remember, very little penis attention until 80%... So, you understand my frustration? And this goes on for w e e k s ...
3 – The book left you knowing there will be a second book. At books end Grace had just arrived in New York and was met at her hotel by good friend Michael. He is a past friend and one time love of hers. Jack is still in L.A. and didn’t seem to appreciate Grace choosing not to have phone sex with him to go have drinks with Michael. All this after she cried piteously on the plane to NY. Oh, bother … I don’t think I’ll read the second or any other book by this author until I hear several tell me it was just “Sooo.. Good!”, because I won’t be able to imagine it.
This was a funny read in places. I may be enjoyable to some, but for me, after about half way, it petered out and became very monotonous.
This would be a read when you are stuck in an airport [I’m thinking an unforeseen overnight at Atlanta Hartsfield] and have nothing else to do.
Maybe Happy Reading?? -

Why I Read this Book: I love reading contemporary romance, especially when it has some good funny moments, so when I read an excerpt I knew I had to read The Unidentified Redhead. Go ahead, click on the link and read it. I’ll be right here waiting for you to come back and read the rest of my review.
Sometimes a good laugh is in order to take away some of the seriousness in a relationship. It’s keep it fresh, alive and most of all fun.
What I Liked: The author’s writing style is deliciously addictive. It flowed well, it grabbed my attention and it was written in a fun manner. The dialogue was well written. The flirtatious banter between Grace and Jack was laugh out loud hilarious. There was never a dull moment, especially when Grace and Jack were in the picture.“I love you too, Gracie…Always,” he deadpanned, holding up a maxi pad.
I love their sarcasm. A lot of their conversations are full of sexual innuendos, which I must admit made me blush at times. The chemistry between Grace and Jack was undeniable, even from the very beginning when they first laid eyes on each other. Here’s a teaser from a scene that takes place later on in the book:He pushed me back up against the door, slamming me against the doorbell. I heard it ring out.
“Coming!” I heard Holly say as she clicked across the floor to the front door.
“Not quite, but she’s close.” He chuckled, removing his hand and leaving me breathless and rosy cheeked.
And just exactly where was Jack’s hand? I know but I’m not telling. Let’s just say, there’s a lot more where that came from.
What I Didn’t Like: I don’t think there was anything about this book that I didn’t like. It was funny, witty and an all-around fun read. This is the kind of book that will take you out of a slump, any kind of slump – reading slump, the weather sucks slump, I ran out of chocolate slump, you name it.
Overall Impression: I was going back and forth between a 4-frog rating and a 5-frog rating. Ultimately, I couldn’t find anything wrong with this book so it got the 5 frogs. This book was a sizzling romance with lots of laugh out loud hilarious moments. The Unidentified Redhead wasn’t what I expected; it was better than I had expected! It’s a fun read that will have you blushing and laughing out loud in hysterics. To give you a taste of what you’re in for with The Unidentified Redhead, you can
read the first chapter online.
I’m going to be all over
The Redhead Revealed, the sequel to The Unidentified Redhead, like a fat kid on chocolate! Seriously, I cannot wait to find out how Grace and Jack’s relationship will handle the road that lies ahead. I have The Redhead Revealed ready to go on my Kindle but I have a few books that I need to read before I can get to it. -
"He was the yin to my yang, the frick to my frack, the toast to my Chex."
OMG! I LOVED this book! It was hilarious, laugh-out-loud funny. I adored the relationship between Jack
and Grace.
I loved their banter, their pet names, and how they could just laugh and have a great time together. I really enjoyed the relationship that Grace shared with her best friend, Holly. They were funny together, as well. The scene where Holly and their gay friend were sitting on the stairs with popcorn was so freaking funny! I like how Grace was able to calm her jealous or irrational thoughts by reminding herself of how great a man Jack was and how much he cared for her. This book was very different from all the books I usually read where a woman's jealous or irrational thoughts would blow up to some great drama. Grace had her issues under control; it was very refreshing. When I wasn't laughing, I was seriously turned on. The sex scenes were very hot in this book. So, what more could you ask for? A hot young man, a witty woman, tons of laughter, and hot sex. I would highly recommend The Unidentified Redhead!
"You can say tits, although I prefer boobies. I also like Ta-Ta's," I said with a straight face. "How about love pillows?" he countered. "Breasticles?" I offered. "Uhhh, how about Flap Jacks?" he asked, struggling not to laugh. "Nice, but it doesn't hold a candle to sweater meat," I managed to get out before laughing so loud I sprayed Saltines all over the counter."
"He, of course, held my boobies while I washed his hair...for balance. He truly never tired of playing with them. I honestly think if he had his own pair, I might never hear from him again." -
Yuck! Ugh!
Is this supposed to be funny?
No, not funny at all, maybe ridiculous and cheesy for sure...
Boobies, all along the book... Seriously? I want to throw up! -
Don't you just love when you start reading a book having no expectations whatsoever one way or another and then you discover after reading only 20 pages that this is one of those books you'll just LOVE forever? This book and its sequel
The Redhead Revealed were those books for me.
I was so in love with every page of this story that I didn't want it to end ... ever. Ms Clayton is not just a great storyteller; she creates characters that you wish you knew in real life. Her writing style is so engaging that I found myself highlighting entire paragraphs, pages sometimes, wanting to read them again at a later stage, over and over again. The humour and the romance in this book are so exquisitely intertwined together. The story flows beautifully and naturally and you find yourself giggling like a schoolgirl the whole time.
I don’t want to write about the storyline, really, I feel that anything I would write could not possibly do it justice. I just want to say that Grace is my personal hero and I want to be her. I completely understood her as a character, I loved her wit and personality, but I also felt that her issues of self-esteem and struggle to accept the wonderful reality of what was happening to her were very real and believable. I mean, what woman in her 30s would not want to pinch herself every second of the day if a 24 year old man like Jack was in love with her? And Jack, oh Jack… what can one say about Jack without becoming a blubbering idiot? He is truly Grace’s soul mate, if one were inclined to believe in soul mates. I have never come across two characters, or personalities for that matter, that are so perfectly matched like Crazy and Sweet Nuts. He is her equal in wit, intelligence and ability to love. I simply adored their love story and I will proudly admit that I will re-read parts of this book every time I feel blue and I need something to pick my spirits up.

See this review on my blog! -
This was such a fun, sexy, smutty read. I smiled and laughed throughout the story. The banter between Grace and Jack was very cute. Even though Jack is 9 years younger than Grace, I liked that he didn't let that get in the way and the chemistry between them was hot! I will definitely pick up the next book from this author.
3.5 Stars
Side note:
My goodreads friends know that I'm a die hard New Kids on the Block fan. So, to read several references in this book about this epic boy band made me want to squeal as if I was at a concert! LOL I love this quote...I can totally relate! Ha!
"I hadn't looked forward to an event as much since the New Kids reunion concert, and that was an all time high." -
Hilarious, sexy, emotional... it's very rare, no matter how emotionally invested I am in a story, that I physically shed a tear or burst out laughing!
The Unidentified Redhead had me doing both! It's one of those books that you can't put down but wish you could avoid reading when anybody else is around. One of those books that has you smirking without realising, snorting tea through your nose and eventually wiping the tears from your eyes!
Absolutely loved both the characters. It was refreshing to read about a couple with an older woman and younger man, it's so often the other way around in a lot of books. Grace has a fantastic sense of humour and her subconscious is hilarious as it battles between being a sexy seductress, a past-it cougar and a goodness knows what else.
And Jack is just adorable! You can't not fall in love with him! I can't be doing with the curly hair though, so I try to skim past that little detail. Just my personal preference. Other than that though, he is to die for!
I started this yesterday at about midday and finished it at 2am, instantly reaching for my phone and downloading the next book, The Redhead Revealed, so that I could start it this morning... Can't wait! -
Okay before I even start this... let's just get some of the images in my head out of the way. I have a strange urge to play NKOTB on my ipod, turn on re-runs of the Golden Girls and watch License to Drive like right now!
This was me through 80% of this book. I love Alice Clayton's ability to infuse humor into her books and still keep them steamy. There is something so hot about the easy wit and sexual tension between her characters. You feel like they truly like each other with more than just their naughty bits.
Grace just moved back to L.A. after her first failed attempt at becoming a star - moving in with her college roommate and best friend, Holly - she meets Jack. The new 'It' boy in Hollywood. Instant chemistry, humor and hilarious banter start off this relationship. But Gracie is worried about their age difference, she's 33 and he is just 24...surely he wouldn't be attracted to her, right? Nope - the attraction is off the charts!
After some playful moments you can sense the attraction dripping off both of them. Now if you thought that the fits of giggles in the conversations were great - there are some pretty great laugh out loud moments while they roll around on the bed, the floor, the shower, the closet....
And all of this steamy sexy time is just hands, mouth, fingers... wow. Jack certainly knows what he is doing. Most books need to really turn on the smut to get you to squirm a bit, but this one got you all weak in the knees without even sliding into home plate.
And then they head to Santa Barbara... let's just say I am ready to book my flight and change my husband's name to Jack for the weekend. And don't forget the "candy!"
I think more sex was fit into a weekend away than in most books. How could either of them even walk straight after that?
Overall, Alice Clayton just hit this completely out of the park. When you want sweet, sexy-time and funny romance this is your girl. Grace and Jack were perfect. I am so glad that this was a two part story - I could not get enough of the two of them. And although they will probably face some new challenges in book 2, I am dying to start this one.
Everyone should read her books - every single one of them.
"Hamilton, Hell yes, although I'll need to be swept off my feet." He responded in less than a minute. "Here's to getting you off your feet, Grace..."
"Sorry, boobies," he corrected. "You can say tits, although I prefer boobies. I also like Ta-Tas," I said with a straight face. "how about love pillows?" he countered. "Breasticles?" I offered. "Uhhh, how about Flap Jacks?" he asked, struggling not to laugh. "Nice, but it doesn't hold a candle to sweater meat," I managed to get out before laughing so loud I sprayed Saltines all over the counter.
"Twenty-four year olds were my new favorite thing. I needed to tell Oprah to put them on her list."
"Randy? Hell no, we're way past that. I need to get pounded, and you're the guy that's going to do it," I said severely, pushing him towards the stairs, holding hte banana like a light saber. "Igot a hole that needs fillin', a field that needs plowin', and a stocking that is aching to be stuffed."

DNF at 26%
God, I really wanted to like this, but this is the second time I DNF a popular Alice Clayton book so there must be something about this author's voice that just doesn't work for me. It started out ok, but after the first 26% I can't stand it anymore. I tried to soldier on but nope, this isn't going to work. I like lighter romances with humor, but this is so over the top it feels silly, wacky and juvenile. The stupid nicknames are irritating too and the plot just isn't interesting or substantial enough. Too much fluff. I realize we're supposed to love Grace for her flamboyant, outgoing personality, but she just grates on me like nails on chalkboard. I'm not a huge fan of the older woman, younger hero trope either, so I'm putting this aside for now. -
I love Alice Clayton's other series. I really hope I'll love this as well. Needing some good humor and romance and wackiness in my life rn.

::Warning, there are some spoilers in this review::
Sweet Nuts and Nuts Girl. God how I love this book. The writing was fresh, funny and wonderful. Our heroine, Grace, is whip-smart funny and completely lovable. I can completely relate to her sense of humor and I spent many pages reading and laughing out loud. I never laughed so hard at some of the things she says to her Brit. There were so many countless times I had to place my head in my hands and say to myself, "she just did not say that out loud, she just did not say that". OMG this girl is CRAZY nuts! Love her.
As for our hero, Jack, my goodness, who couldn't fall in love with this young, yummy, handsome British tall drink of hotness? British accents were flying all over my head as I read his dialog and that alone made me swoon like a teenage girl. (Sorry I have a thing for all things British, especially British men and their accents ;) Jack was simply adorable in this book and I love how she calls him George. He falls in love with her, along with all her craziness. LOL. Sooooooo CUTE!!
Additionally, I love the BFF relationship between Gracie and Holly. I LOVE how they call each other dillweed or asshead. lol. And the part where Holly and their friend Nick barge into Gracie's room after her and Jack have their first tryst, PRICELESS! "The British are coming! The British are coming!" OMG I almost DIED laughing!!
Don't get me wrong, there are PLENTY of hot, steamy, romantic scenes with Grace and Jack that tugged at the hopeless romantic in me. However, the humor in this book is what made this novel stand out. Take for example their first kiss. They were rolling around in the sand, just because Grace is crazy enough to do so, they have their first earth shattering kiss. Afterwards, she gets pooped on by a bird. POOPED ON for crying out loud. Such a romantic scene and I ended up laughing so hard at this weird, funny encounter. I. LOVE. THIS. BOOK. PERIOD. If I could, I would give it tons more stars :) Can't wait to start reading the sequel :)

Holy Sweet Nuts! I absolutely LOVED this book!!!! Are you PMS-ing? In a bad mood? Just read a depressing book? Do you need to feel good, laugh, smile, and just plain enjoy a book without angst? This is the book for you. This is definitely in my best books of the year list, and Alice Clayton is one of my new favorite authors.
This is a 5++++++++ star read for me with a 4.5 on the heat meter. I found myself smiling through the whole book, laughing out loud (complete with snorts) several times, AND I jumped my husband. What more can you ask for in a book?
Thirty Three year old Grace Sheridan returns to LA to try to make it in Hollywood after her failed first chance when she was younger. Successful in her alternate career, Grace knows she is not complete without the theater. So she moves back to LA and temporarily lives with her best friend from college, Holly, who just branched out into her own management company. Holly and Grace are REAL best friends--almost like sisters. With silly, immature senses of humor, they call each other "Asshat" and "Dillweed".Their friend Nick (funny gay guy) is also awesome. Holly is managing the next Hollywood "it" boy, 24 year old british heart throb, Jack Hamilton.
When Jack and Grace meet, it is a series of funny, bantering flirtation. They both have 12 year old boy humor (I'm in my 40s and do too, so I LOVED this). Grace called Jack names like "Sweet Nuts" and "Johnny Bite Down" and my favorite "George"; and Jack called Grace "Crazy" and "Nuts girl". He loved her crazy, nutty sense of humor, and so did I. The first time they fooled around in her room, they were NOT quiet, in fact, Holly and Nick sat outside the door with popcorn listening, and when it was over they ran in yelling "The British Are Coming" haha--cracked me up. Speaking of coming, while the book was funny, the sex was HOT!
Well, actually, there was a lot of almost-sex. But that was OK, because Jack had NO problems using his tongue, a lot. Though Jack isn't the typical broody alpha male I usually go for, he was still pretty alpha in bed, and lots of fun, with the endurance of a 24 year old (though she had that too).
After rolling around on the bathroom floor and knocking all bathroom stuff down:
"I love you too, Gracie…Always," he deadpanned, holding up a maxi pad. (Always brand)
I loved everything about this book. It made me so happy reading it. I wish there was more than one book left of hers to read. I'm almost scared to read book two because I don't want these to end!
This is a light, fun, happy beach read. I was waiting for angst or suspense, there wasn't really any, but I still couldn't put it down. It had a feel of Love Unscripted by Tina Reber,
, mixed with a lot of what I love about Kristen Ashley
Kristen Ashley.
The friendships, jokes and dialogue were witty, fun and real. I so want to be friends with all these people, they are my type. They use expressions like "That's what she said" (so do I) plus Jack writes things like "poo" on the steamy shower glass--gotta love that stuff. RUN--don't walk to download this book, and save it for when you need a happy pick me up. -
☆☆4-I-Want-To-Be-Best-Friends-with-Grace-and-Holly-Stars☆☆
Yes I want us to hang out in our onesies and do each others hair while watching the golden girls. OK maybe that's going too far, but you get the picture. This book was hilariously fabulous! I was doing this most of the time:
I fell in love with Wallbanger and I decided to give this book a try. Well Alice Clayton does not disappoint, except on the fact that she loves to build up sexual tension. There's a good 5 chapters with just oral sex, but hey I'm not complaining!
I loved Grace, she is a goofy 33 year old trying to make it in Hollywood. Along comes famous, sexy, young, British Jack Hamilton and she is smitten! I fell in love Jack!
"I was a Hamilton virgin, and I couldn't wait to be deflowered."
Jack is a heartthrob who can somehow manage Grace and all of her awkwardness. Their relationship was natural and fun even.
The funniest thing throughout this story is Grace's inner dialogue with herself. I never knew conversations with oneself could be so funny! I loved being in her head. The bantering between Jack, Grace and Holly was hilarious.
Overall, I loved this one (although for me it's not as good as Wallbanger), and if you want something funny and sexy then this is for you:)
