Kanemura Osamu, Japanese photographer, was born in 1964 and currently lives in Tokyo. He began photographing in 1989, the year the Showa emperor died, documenting the economic and building boom of the city since then. He supported himself for 3 years by working as a newspaper delivery man in the city, photographing while he worked. Influenced by the ‘snapshot’ styles of Garry Winogrand and his teacher Kiyoshi Suzuki, he photographs fragments of the streets crowded with eclectic buildings, electric cables, and bicycles. He repeatedly returns to favoured sites, photographing them again and again. Soft cover. 1 v. (unpaged) : chiefly ill. ; 23 cm. Waizu Shuppan shashin sōsho, 4.
