D.L. Moody on Spiritual Leadership Reviews
-
Steve Miller gave us a very good glimpse into the life of one of God’s men. D.L Moody has been such an inspiration, his life, his legacy and his ministry does bear the stamp of God. It is clear that the words “consecrate and concentrate” were not just mere concepts but in actuality was his very life. May the Lord use us ministers to bear the same imprint of His presence, may I be consecrated for His work and may I concentrate on the task of saving souls.
-
Someone who in the eyes of this world had no potential... was used by God to reached out to millions. Many may have excellent leadership but without spiritual leadership we can only do so much.
-
"Consecrate, then concentrate" in so few words expresses the heart of D.L. Moody's ministry and the central theme of Steve Miller's instructions On Spiritual Leadership. Miller surveys nine aspects of Moody's character that consecrated him to God's purpose and drew him into a concentrated life serving Jesus Christ in each soul that he encountered. Every description of Moody's habits herein illustrate the Holy Spirit at work to bring about the kingdom through his faith and work. Miller paints an accurate picture of Moody that we can use to model our own Christ-centered spiritual leadership.

Like the boook by the same author on Spurgeon it reminds us what made these other men great, was not anything in and of themselves. But a great dependance upon God in the things He has already revealed to us and called all of us to in the Word of God. And this book like the one on Spurgeon are simply used to call us to the ecitement and joy of following fully after Jesus.
-
Strong insights from one of the greatest church leaders of the past 150 years.
-
Good book, not just on the precepts shared, but also to see how this spiritual giant actually accomplished his goals. Learned a lot about both.

Loved the book. DL Moody was just an ordinary man who wanted to see people come to Christ and was used mightily by God. The Leadership lessons are invaluable.
