The tenets of Nonviolent Communication are applied to a variety of settings, including the classroom and the home, in these booklets on how to resolve conflict peacefully. Illustrative exercises, sample stories, and role-playing activities offer the opportunity for self-evaluation, discovery, and application.

Applying the Nonviolent Communication (NVC) process to conflict resolution inspires peaceful collaboration by focusing on the unmet needs that lie at the root of any given conflict. Practical techniques help mediators and participants to find the heart of the conflict and use genuine cooperation to reach resolutions that meet everyone’s needs.

Nice little book with vital information for conflict solving.
    I like it.

The examples and definitions in the last 5 Chapters are a bit spares.

Especially the first 3 or 4 chapters had a very nice balance between information and informational anecdotes that support the understanding greatly.

    Nice work!

This is like a cliff notes version of his NVC book (which is a must read).
    Takeaways:
Abandon the goal of getting people to do what you want focus on creating the conditions for everyone's needs will be met.
    RESOLVE CONFLICTS:
    - Express your own needs.
    - Sense their needs regardless of how they're expressing themselves.
    - Check to see if needs are accurately being received.
    - Provide empathy.
    - Translate proposed solutions into positive action language.
"Very few people are literate in expressing their needs. Instead they have been trained to criticize, insult, and otherwise communicate in ways that create distance among people which result in conflicts where resolutions can exist but are not found."

I found it to be emperor's new clothes. It need not have been. It's useful, but then not entirely spectacularly so

This short book looks at using Nonviolent Communication in resolving conflicts - conflicts in relationships up to and including warring factions.
It is a small but powerful exploration of Marshall Rosenberg's technique and a heart-felt plea to engage in being literate about our needs and voicing them clearly and hearing the other people's needs too. He also emphasises the need to separate needs from strategies and to frame our strategies using positive action language.
It is very short and slips into my bag with my tablet, smartphone and other things easily.
It makes me think and is powerful for that.

I love NVC and Marshall’s work. This book is a short version and can be difficult to fully understand if you haven’t read others.

  • Anna Gail

    Easy read!

  • Ginette

    Juste trop court!

Mais une très bonne explication rapide de la cnv, si vous ne connaissez pas ce livre est pour vous.
