    I mean whatever.

    Unknown Title - Cover Story
Scott is in charge of leading the new X-men, and let's just say he's having a bit of trouble with that. Have you ever had a buddy who got a promotion and is now in charge of you? Did you want to listen to them? Did you still think you were on the same level but corporate thought otherwise? This is pretty much what Scott is having to go through. IT's like a substitute teacher coming in on a class of unruly 4th graders.

What I loved about this story were the Orgins stories. Wolverine's was my favorite!! THe way he told it made me laugh. My favorite line: Hey, Who let out the radioactive wolverine out of its cage?

This had humor mixed with action which made it very enjoyable to me.

    Refuge

Nightcrawler is having trouble coping with not being able to blend into society. He's tired of hiding who he really is. When a group called The Inhumans come for a visit, Nightcrawler learns that maybe he's not alone in this world... that is until he goes home with them.

The funny bit: Wolverine ticks off an Inhuman and gets knocked out of orbit. Poor Wolvie

    To Err is Inhuman

While accompanying Nightcrawler to the Inhuman's city of Attilan, Colossus needs to help his friend, Nightcrawler from being punished. With the help of Inhuman, Tritan, they notify the X-men of Nightcrawler's trial. The X-men show up without Wolvie because he's still flying across the world from being punched in the last story, but have Jean in tow because Professor X contacted her. This is the first time Jean has been with the group. Scott called her in the first story but she was in New York and didn't want anything to do with the X-men. In this story you pick up on a little trouble in paradise between her and Cyclops.

In the end the X-men and the Inhumans come to an understanding and Nightcrawler learns that even though he is different he is a happy mutant with the support of all his friends.

The funny bit: Wolverine finally lands.

    The Next Life

Banshee gets a blast from the past when the father of his widow steps into his life. Blinded with guilt by not being there when his wife died many years ago, Banshee is on the hunt for a ghost only to find that sometimes you need to leave the past behind and look forward to the future. Definately the sappiest story in the book. One the girls will totally dig :)

    Sisters of the Dragon

Jean Grey decides to throw a ladies night and invites Storm and 2 buds over to go clubbing. Before their night out on the town they stop for a Chinese din din but are poisoned by Nightshade. Nightshade has some dirty work she needs the mutant gals to take care of, but it's up to Storm give Nightshade her chill pill.

    Bonus Side Story

Astronauts in space are monitoring the sun when all of the sudden they see movement. Is that a person they see? Does it see them? Oh no!! There's the cliffy for the next book!!

    Greta's Thoughts

I really enjoyed how light this comic book was. I understood everything that was going on and haven't really read many comic books. Most of my X-men knowledge stems from the movies and the cartoon series "The Uncanny X-Men" that started in 1992. I was 14 years old and this is the series that introduced me to The X-men. I have very fond memories of late Saturday morning watching it with my 12 year old brother. This went on until I graduated.

With that being said, I feel this comic is a great strip for kids who are 12 years old and above. While light it is also filled with some action and a great deal of humor. I really enjoyed that. Also, the costumes aren't too racey but I have to admit that I am a bit jealous that everyone has great hair ;)

Fun but not as innocent as the Xmen First Class books.

  • Sharon

    Individual issues on marvel unlimited

  • Garrett Ballendine

I love the Uncanny characters but this book was just a slog to get through.
It lost all of the fun and wonder that the original First Class series had.

    #1-4, giant size collected.
