    So the first story wasn't the one I bought this for.
    At all.
    But it was a good conclusion to the director arc, and yikes what she did to herself.
    The second story was just one of those excellent Batman and Robin arcs where you see why Dick Grayson is one of the favorite enduring Robins and why his legacy matters so much and why people are so drawn to his story and why he's a leader.
    And how Batman says "as a soldier you failed" but as more than that you passed, basically. Because Robin shouldn't be a soldier. It was good. This was worth the money just for the one story.

    I am kind of sick of the court of owls, though. I won't lie. I get it's now an integral part of the mythos but I'm just so over it. Unpopular opinion I know.

    Although I always do enjoy those kinds of stories where Bruce gets to interact with his parents and have some kind of closure somewhere, and some kind of nostalgia, and where he rejects keeping the changes not because he wants them to die but because he understands how many lives he's changed and saved. And gaining some kind of perspective about how he needs to balance the tragedy with the hope and what he's gained vs what he's lost ... while I had a kind of weird reaction to his parents reacting to the car and Batman and their personalities, I did like the last page or two a lot.
