This book is packed full of information about history and knowledge as it relates to people of color. It does include a lot of doctrine/opinions about the 5 percenters and the Nation of Gods and Earths, which I am not apart of either of those groups, but you would have to be a fool to say that some of the knowledge dropped in this book isn't relevant and makes sense. Another thing I like about this book is that they include a lot of sources and references to back up what they talk about which opens the door for further research into finding Knowledge. I also enjoyed the mix of different perspectives from individuals from various walks of life and backgrounds.

This book is a powerful and relevant read to anybody who's interested in finding or furthering their knowledge and understanding. There are parts I either didn't see relating to my own life or parts that were deeper then my own present knowledge in some topics, but a lot I found spoke truth and sense. It's something you need to take in parts and re-read or take time to digest, you cant just skim through and expect anything out of it.
I've read a lot on the NGE or 5% over the last six months and this book has defiantly given me some added knowledge and made me want to learn more about a variety of topics. -
This is a valuable book of wisdom consisting of a series of essays, short stories, and poetry covering a variety of topics such as self-cultivation, the power of the mind, physical and mental health, family and relationships, world history as well as Nation of Gods and Earths (NGE) history, race, quantum physics, astronomy and religion/spirituality and much more written by members of the NGE themselves. Void of proselytizing, "Knowledge of Self" makes the culture of the 5 Percenters more accessible to everyone around the world while providing universal knowledge and wisdom for an open-minded and freethinking population.

This was just my first reading; I'll return to it later for a second read because there is a lot I just browsed through. However, it is definitely worth the read because of the lessons and history that fill this book.

I purchased this book in October of 2017 and it took me almost a year to consistently read it as I was digesting all the jewels and rabbit holes in this book.(I finished it this year 2020) So many people dropped knowledge much needed for our people to discover!!! This book will broaden your awareness even if you're not looking to become a Five Percenter. It has certainly resonated with me. Read with an Open Mind!!! This book will give you insight to a lot of knowledge and you'll find out why the wool has been pulled over your eyes for so long. Your knowledge of self, your knowledge of sensible living is key to your advancement in life. You will not regret picking up this book!!! The only reason it took me so long to finish the book was because I was distracted and had to make time to read it. Even when you're done reading it there's so many questions you'll have pertaining to yourself and the knowledge you've received. I recommend this book to anyone looking to broaden their awareness! Definitely one of my favorites
