Sophia Vanderwahl had always dreamed a knight in shining armor would sweep her off her feet, but she knew this only happened in fairy tales. And when she discovers the truth about her philandering fiance, she decides to track the scoundrel down and confront him in person. So she hires adventurer Jack MacAuley to help her find her neglectful husband to-be. But with every glimpse into Jack's seductive eyes, every tremor she feels at the sound of his voice, she finds her memory of her fiance fading away... A Woman's Love
When the headstrong heiress offers him a king's ransom to find her long-absent intended, rugged Jack MacAuley figures it will be easy money. But nothing is easy when it comes to this willful beauty with the golden eyes and kissable lips, and soon he can't help but think of delicious ways to make her forget her promises to anyone else... and to believe that happily-ever-afters really can come true.

2,5 Stars
A fun, well-written and entertaining little romance. A bit dated in the hero and heroine’s characterisations with their unnecessarily drawn out lack of communication about continuous silly misunderstandings, but as a whole a quick and averagely enjoyable read. -
So apparently this is the third book in this series but as told all books can be standalone. Well let me tell you if I had read the first two prior and they were as bad as this one, I never would have read this book!
Immature, unbelievable, disaster at every turn and no real communication between the H/h until the end makes this book barely a 2 star read! I hated Sophie! I know hate is a strong word but with this character it is called for! She mentions wanting to be like the boys and following her dreams (which gave me hope for her character) then in the next paragraphs back to her spoiled, pampered brat of a person!! Add in zero reality, I mean it's 1899 no female goes off on her own, on a ship full of men only female, sleeps in the captain's cabin (with only sheets dividing them), then sleeps with said captain and says oh well I'll never merry anyway it's all good. What, I mean WTF!?! do you know this era at all?!?
I've read other books by this author and I don't recall having this strong a dislike to one of her books, so I'll give another series at another time a chance. Just not anytime soon! ✌️ -
Heroine exceedingly annoying. Hero kinda skeezy and creepy. Made it 35% before skimming the rest.

This book is so beautiful. I love how the heroine learns to stand up for herself and in the mean time falls in love with the man of her dreams. A perfect romance, with a lot of laughs, and of course, the much needed happy ending. I love all of Tanya's books.

I enjoyed listening to Mr. Wright perform this awesome story. I love his voices, the passion with which he brings the characters and story to life. My fave was Jack's voice. YUM - 5 stars
Ms. Crosby really knows how to make a story shine. Historicals are not my first go-to genre, but the way the author portrays heroines that do not conform to the norm is very much to my liking and I liked Sophie despite her being a disaster magnet, she cracked me up with her reactions. The chemistry between her and Jack was palpable and once they gave in, it was magic. Ending with an HEA, my fave kind, left me giddy, a 5-star experience for sure. -
I read this in the Three Redeemable Rogues collection. I note it here because I was not enamored with this story and am not sure I want to continue reading the other two in the collection.
Happily Ever After had potential. I really wanted to fall in love with it. Sophia was likable. Her fiance, not so much. The "rogue"? How can you not love a rogue. He really wasn't a rogue though. Just misunderstood. Yep! That is what I said. Poor little rich girl. Sleezoid antagonist. Misunderstood hero. Rather cliched and predictable. I got a bit of eyestrain from all the eye-rolling. There was just enough here to keep me reading, but does not inspire continuing with the collection. -
The writing is…not good. The dialogue is stilted and strained, the scenes are disjointed: a question is asked and four pages later, after metaphorical squirrels are chased in the characters’ thoughts, an answer is given and the reader has forgotten a question was even asked. The characters do nonsensical things for nonsensical explanations. Anything to do with sex or sexual attraction is abrupt and clumsy. I did more snorting and eye-rolling than is healthy while reading this book—I might have sprained something.
This was my first and last book by this author. -
Trusting your love
What do you do when you find that the man you THOUGHT you loved had never loved you? He was never faithful, and didn't plan returning to you? Why, you go after him, of course. And that's just what this young lady did, finding her heart, and love along the way. Riveting example of what Tanya Ann Crosby is capable of turning out. -
Woman's lib in the19th Century.
I couldn't stop laughing and smiling at the antics and the absurdity of the errors. I know many men scoff at romance novels but they don't know what they are missing. I have read about a dozen of Tanya Crosby books and that are awesome in their plots and her research is top notch. Pick one up, what have you got to lose? -
All in all, not a bad book. The storyline is interesting, but there were times when the book was riddled with angst that could've been eliminated if the characters communicated better, and they were forever coming to the wrong conclusion. It had kind of a rom-com feel in that respect. Other than that, a good book.

I enjoyed this book very much. It is about a young woman who learns that her fiance does not really love her only using her to get grant money for an expedition. This is her story about reclaiming her life and finding new love.

An Adorable Story.
I truly enjoyed reading this Book. I was laughing so hard at these Wonderful Characters as if I was there with them.
Albeit I felt like Tanya Anne Crosby did a little more musing than she usually does in writing.
Don't get me wrong, The Story, Scenes & Characters were Great. -
Another hit
I just love Tanya's stories. This book was full of humor, love and great characters. I have read several of her books and as usual, this one did not disappoint. -
