As this is an identification guide, I did not read it cover to cover. I concentrated on animals found in the Gulf of Mexico. I spent a little less time on animals that can be found in any US water, and I just skimmed through the rest of the ocean.
This is a great resource, and I will refer to again and again. I was surprised to find out that there are ~34 species of Pinnipedia! One species, the ringed seal, is so cute and adorable, but I had never heard of it before. It has a circumpolar distribution in the Arctic.
As I mentioned above, this is a great resource for anyone studying or working with Marine animals.
I have added this book to my home library.
