The Littlest Christmas Tree wants to find a home for Christmas in this companion to the bestselling favorite The Littlest Pumpkin. There are only five days until Christmas, and the Littlest Christmas Tree is still waiting for a home. All it wants is for a family to take it home, decorate it, and sing its favorite song, "Oh Christmas tree, Oh Christmas tree, how lovely are thy branches..." But as Christmas nears, and one by one the other trees find homes, the Littlest Christmas Tree begins to think that no one will ever take it home. And then, on Christmas Eve, its wish comes true when the man who runs the Christmas tree stand takes it home to his family.

The Littlest Christmas Tree Reviews

  • Shannon

Such a cute and sweet picture book!

  • Juliet McGee

    I liked the animals.

  • Sarah

A heart-warming tale just right for the Christmas season. Proves, once again, that there's always a place for everyone and everything.

  • Lara Lamb

This book is a holiday story about a little Christmas tree that is just waiting to be picked in the tree lot by a family. While families are picking the larger trees on the lot and leaving the little tree behind he has hope that he will go home with a special family soon. Luckily a family of squirrels picks him and makes his wish come true. I think this story is a great way to talk to students about differences and how everybody has a purpose in life no matter how small they may be.

The Littlest Christmas Tree makes me tear up a little in the middle, when the tree is sad and lonely and afraid it will never get to be a Christmas tree. Thankfully it has a happy ending and the tree gets to go to the perfect home.

  • Cara

This was an adorable story about a little tree that desperately wanted to become a Christmas tree this year. As the days get closer to Christmas, he worries about whether he'll be picked and fulfill his wish or not.

  • Lindsey Erickson

A cute book to include in our collection, as one of our 25 Christmas books.

  • Kalli Jean Thompson

A sweet story of a little pine tree who wanted to be loved and utilized. Not about Jesus, but a sweet story. Also doesn’t include Santa.

  • Fernanda Mineto

Meu Deus, que livrinho fofo para ler com os pequenos da minha escola. Muito lindinha a história do pequeno pinheirinho. Amei demais.

  • Myrna

I love the illustrations in this book. Every year my son and I read this book, and every year we laugh at the illustration of the son eating popcorn. It’s a holiday favourite.

  • Ketutar Jensen

Very sweet little story, perfect for December (maybe you could get your kids choose the cheapest Christmas tree from the market? ;-))

  • Ashley

One of our favourite Christmas books!

  • Nena

There is always a place for everything, a company and a hug for everyone. Hope Christmas time will be delightful and full of joy, health, love, true and warmhearted wishes. 🎄The littlest lovely christmas tree found out the sense of belonging , a warm home and a family ready to show it love and affection.

This child's story is told by the smallest tree in the Christmas tree farm. His wish is to become a full fledge Christmas tree. He's so tiny that everyone overlooks him. He thinks his wish isn't going to come true. But the owner of the farm takes him home to his little boy. The little boy decorates him and 'loves' him.

  • Teri

I'd like to look for another edition of this book for next year--one with better illustrations.

  • Karen

A cute book to add to our advent reading. I liked how it showcased the love one family showed to the tree every other family passed up. Will read it each year with my boys.
