In the 1930s The childhood camps were erected by the Italians, to reflect the fascist regime in power at the time. When all countries were realizing that children should get back to the outdoors. Italian style pervades these camps with the most incredible moderne architecture. Even highly rational buildings take on seemingly whimsical forms to delight the audience of children, but always with attention to proportion, scale and detail. Great photos and vellum-printed fold-out building plans – 1st edition.

One of my favorite books. Awesome resource for the childhood camps erected by the Italians, when all countries were realizing that children should get back to the outdoors. Italian style pervades these camps witht eh most wondrous architecture. Even highly rational buildings take on seemingly whimsical forms to delight the audience of children, but always with attention to proportion, scale and detail. Great photos and vellum-printed plans.

Now out of print, and worth so much, I hide it.
