Have your fill of pure terror on the rocks…

Tragedy strikes twice when an enraged father discovers his son’s death was caused by bullying and sets out for bloody revenge. An adventurer seeking the true meaning of fear learns to be careful with what he wishes for. And a web of mystery leads a group of neighborhood children to investigate and carry the secret of their discovery well into adulthood…

Pull up a chair at Hannigan’s, the tavern of a thousand screams. Order a drink, as you enjoy the twelve magnificently macabre tales of terror in this bone-chilling new collection.

You lick your lips as another tale begins. Slamming your glass on the counter, you decide to get another. It’s addicting—this smooth, warm beverage. You peer at the crimson liquid inside… Blood.

Then you wake up, relieved it was all a dream.

Or was it?

You notice you’re not on your bed, your clothes and skin bloodstained, the previous night a blur.

You entered the Tavern of Terror a human. But left as a creature of the night.

And there’s no way back…

Tavern of Terror Vol. 3: Short Horror Stories Anthology Reviews

I've enjoyed all the Anthologies produced by Scare Street, but especially exciting is their Tavern of Terror Series of Themed Anthologies, based on a quiet, unassuming Tavern called Hannigan's, a mild little neighborhood pub, no trouble, nothing rowdy, just folks having a pint or two. But those pints in that quiet establishment often give rise to tale-sharing: Stories to curl your hair, chill your bones, trickle Spider trails on the back of your neck. Delve into 12 delightfully frightening tales from 4 Scare Street authors who live to horrify!

Okay, we have a mysterious tavern with a group of equally mysterious patrons who come together on Halloween night to give vent to their wildest imaginations. I'm here to tell you that it doesn't get a whole lot better than that. Monsters, ghosts, evil machines, space invaders-we get it all here.
I especially liked this one because of the Steven King vibes I was getting. Most of the stories involved adolescents or young adults as main characters much like a lot of King's work. They are victimized by the bad operators and fight back, also like some of SK's works. I was reminded of "It" on a couple of occasions as well as, to a lesser degree, King's novelette "The Body" from which the movie "Stand By Me" was derived. The kids in these stories develop cooperative relationships in order to overcome the horrors they face.
Scare Street continues to provide top notch horror. I cannot recommend these stories highly enough.

Ohhh, I am absolutely LOVING this series! These stories are amazing, and some of them will creep you out! This short collection of stories is very well done, leaving the reader wanting more in some cases.

Scare Street hands down has some of the best horror around!

This volume was incredible! I listened to this audiobook for a day and a half and always at night and boy did it send shivers down my spine. The narrator did a fantastic job with the characters in each story.

    Wow

I read this one before, so will give a quick review of it. Short stories are the best when you don't have time to dig into a good book. Setting down and reading a short scary story can be totally awesome.

Some of these stories still haunt me a day later.
