Who’s afraid of the big bad wolf?

WOLF

My sights set on her the moment she drove into town.

From the moment her darling aroma invaded my senses, Blythe was mine. I’d watched her silently, I’d allowed Ghost his time, I’d supported Onyx through his turmoil. All the while the sleeping alpha raged inside me, wanting to make her his in every way. But how could I let him out when he was so at odds with her sweet, gentle giant, Wolfgang Jack?

My alpha was wild, untamed, and so… so hungry.

When my community is in shambles and Fenrir pack needs me to rise up to the challenge, can I do that while reconciling the beast within?

Little Red Riding Hood is walking through my forest now.
And she won’t escape me this time.

Blythe

Running, always running.

Afraid of the darkness that haunts me, fleeing my past, always at the mercy of whatever grabs me in the night. The Halloween Boys had given me safety, security, and more love and passion than I’d ever imagined.

But now Wolf needs me and it’s time to learn how to be his luna. The women of Fenrir lead their pack with strength and grace. They don’t cower, they hunt.

If I run now, it’ll be because I want to. If I run now, it’ll be because I want to be caught.

And now I’m ready for his claws and teeth.

The Halloween Boys Book Three: WOLF is a Little Red Riding Hood retelling wrapped up in all the woodland dark fairy tale magic worthy of your favorite werewolf. Please see author site for content information.

Wolf (The Halloween Boys #3) Reviews

  • Dani (Daniiireads)

I feel like I've been waiting 900 years for Wolf to come out (I haven't, I'm just obnoxiously impatient and dramatic), and holy freaking butt nuggets Batman was this worth the wait.

I seriously fall so much more in love with Ames, Onyx and Wolf with each new book, and I have to say I might love Wolf the most. He is honestly just so perfect! He's protective and sweet, and oh so caring, and willing to do any and everything for the ones he loves.

The character development of all three boys continues to be immaculate (although I wanted to beat Ames in Dragon for being the way he was acting, but things have finally smoothed out), and I love how easily their dynamic changes as their relationship with Blythe grows. They each bring something new out in her too, and I love the confidence boost she's gained from Wolf!

This was honestly so amazing, but I am GAGGGING at that ending!!! WHAAAAAAAAATTTT!!! I cannot wait for Devil, holy cannoli.

  • Arianna ✨

Perhaps my favorite thing of this entire book is when Wolfgang is in his wolf form & wags his tail while looking at Blythe. It's the tiniest detail but omg I was giggling out of pure excitement when it happened because it's just so dang cute!

I loved seeing Wolf's perspective, especially in regards to his relationships with the other Halloween Boys. He really is the sweetest of them all (unless something threatens those he cares about).

The way Wolf went from "I want your first real time with me to leave you feeling loved and secure in my feelings for you, Blythe." to giving her a h a n d necklace & k n o t t i n g her? HOT. And chapter 19?! ALSO HOT. The spice in this book is immaculate, especially because we get so many variations of pairings within the group AND group activities!

Overall, the stakes did feel a little subdued in this book compared to Ghost & Dragon but I know for a fact that Devil's book is going to have me quaking in my boots from how intense it will be.

  • 🍙 j a y 🖤 .dammnitjay.

WOLF!! I knew he was going to be my favorite. Don’t get me wrong … love Ghost and Dragon too but I just knew Wolf was going to be my favorite. (Now Devil May change my mind so we will see)
    Oh my goodness.
This book just … Wolf coming to terms with things … Blythe not letting anything stop her.
All the chaos that ensued but she and her Halloween Boys didn’t quit and stood together.
    Group activities. Hide and seek.
    Laverna.
    “Little moon”
Changes occurring within Ash Grove and other places.

Oh and the little red ridding hood ….
I screamed and absolutely devoured this book.
    I cannot wait for Devil.
This series has been everything and more.

    4.5☆

Wolf 👏🏻 is 👏🏻 everything 👏🏻 Wolfgang Jack is so precious and hot and I am besotted, ngl. He's sweet and attentive BUT ALSO THE MOUTH ON HIM TOO 😮‍💨 AND THE WAY HE BACKS IT UP 🤌🏻 I loved how he finally claimed Blythe after being the patient one and the way he struggled with becoming an alpha but then stepped up to be the wolf he deserves to be and the wolf he is needed to be.

Onyx and Ghost in this, for me, we're excellent. They allowed Wolf to tell his story and maintained a supporting act role which I appreciated. I enjoyed reading them together and seeing the boys loving towards one another without Blythe there was possibly one of my fave parts of this book. I would love some throwback scenes (or a novella?) of time before Blythe and the dynamics of their friendship/relationship 👀👀

Whilst I appreciated seeing Blythe start to gain confidence in herself and begin to step into her own, it was a little frustrating for some of the book listening to her complain about not being treated like a damsel but also still very much acting like a damsel. I'm glad we do finally see her recognise her power and, whilst it feels a long time coming, I do think she needed Wolf and the other Luna wolves to show her that she *is* powerful and strong. I also love that her boys hyped her up and allowed her the time and space to explore her abilities and trusted her to save the day and I will live in eternal envy that she gets all these Halloween Boys and I get none.

Lastly, as always, Kat's writing is absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. It's fantastical and whimsical, mature and full of experience and knowledge. Her lore and world's are full and established but, at times, it can feel like a lot to remember especially from book to book. You can tell Kat loves what she writes, that her characters mean so much to her and it makes for a more enjoyable experience as a reader. Also, that epilogue??? October can't come soon enough.

starting Wolf felt like coming home. I'll forever be hyping up this series because there is just nothing like it.

this book really just shows a lot of character growth and development for everyone. Ames is a little less possessive and is more encouraging for Blythe to channel her power. Onyx seems more at home and comfortable. Wolf is learning to trust himself and come to terms with his monster and really embrace it. Blythe is diving into her role as Death and stepping up to be a bad bitch reaper.

and don't get me wrong the story is there and the spice is really there but my favorite part is just learning more about Wolf and watching him fight parts of himself trying to put everyone else first and finally just embracing even the darkest parts of him and the group embracing and encouraging that side of him and loving him more for it.

the tone of this series has changed a little with each book and Wolf was just about growth, healing, and unconditional love. they don't have to talk it all out, they don't have to scream it from roof tops, it's all in the little things they do for each to show their support and adoration. it just feels effortless and genuine and you can just feel that coming off the page.

my only thing is...that not an epilogue, epilogue just about killed me. impatiently waiting for Devil in October.

  • Lanae Kirby

Well another book down in this series, and again, really cool concept and ideas for a book, but I feel like the execution just isn't quite there.

This book is centered around wolf. But I feel like honestly we didn't get much about him or really learn anything new about him. Like besides the fact he is mated with Blythe now, and also an alpha wolf, we didn't get much else. We got hints at a supposed deal with the Devil, but even that wasn't fully revealed. It just felt very meh for what was suppose to be his book.

And now that we're on book three I'm getting annoyed with Blythe's lack of really doing much. She hasn't learned to fight, and that's even brought up in this book, but she is never actually trained. We know she is a reaper but we don't even know what she is capable of still. And what little we do get of what her powers are, is just like a smidge at the end.

To me this book was just smut. A lot of smut with very little plot. We had like the small story line of Fenrir and trying to get it back in order, but even that storyline was just like very minimal and background noise.

I just feel like this story has so much potential! I absolutely adore the concept and the first book hyped me up thinking this series would be a lot better. I dunno. It just isn't doing it for me.

  • Breanna Glass

I absolutely love this series ! Blythe and Wolf are so adorable together and it was lovely seeing their relationship grow more. Wolf is my favorite Halloween boy. I love them all for different reasons but Wolf just has my heart. The plot thickens and I really feel like Blythe is growing into who she’s meant to be. I can’t wait for Devil !

“I am your lowly wolf. You are my moon. And I will chase after your light forever.”

This world & these boys forever have me in a chokehold. Thank you Kat for creating this!!

I love how each book is so distinctly different, and captures the essence of each Halloween Boy. Wolf’s was no different- it was beautifully written to showcase Wolfgang’s gentle side, but also focus on his rage & how he battles with that.

My favorite part was Blythe & her confidence growing ten fold- we love a good character build. 💪🏼

👹👹👹 Cannot WAIT for Judas this Halloween. It’s bittersweet to close the chapter of an era, but you better believe this series will be a Fall re-read EVERY YEAR.

I think this may be a 3.5 star read for me.

I do love these characters but unfortunately this book wasn’t a hit for me. I absolutely adored Ghost as a book and became obsessed so quickly but my excitement decreases with each new release.

For some reason the story isn’t getting me like book one. The guys still sometimes treat her as a weaker being when we literally know who she is and she’s not. But then she complains and doesn’t do much about it until the end of this book and it feels like a long wait. And there were quite a few scenes I would’ve liked to see more details and how things played out but it wasn’t as impactful because it was too high level and quick. I wanted to love this book so much more than I did but I found myself just wanting to finish it.

"You are my luna and my moon, Blythe Pearl."

Wolf was a good read and one that made me feel nostalgic. Wolfgang is definitely different to our other boys and I'm not upset one bit (cause honestly, I would love to have a Wolfgang myself).

It was nice to see the boys interacting with each other more and seeing them developed more with one another now that they have Blythe in the picture.

Throughout the story, it was nice to get hints of the first book thrown in every now and then, but I really did kinda hope to have been in Ash Grove a little more. Like, yeah, this is Wolf's book so its going to be in Fenrir and not Ash Grove, but I just really miss that town okay?

Parts of the book were getting me confused. . . and the beginning. . .

    I will mention though. . .

Anyways, I'm still eyeing Judas here cause 👀 hello! Can you blame me? This mysterious man is making me feel things here whenever he pops up.

Now I must be patient and wait for the finale for our devil. I'm so pumped for his book!

Wolf would be good for those who enjoy werewolves (obviously), polygamous relationships, LOTS of primal smut, and scary monsters who are soft for the FMC

What do you know about werewolves? Probably the basic facts that everyone knows: the turning from human self to werewolf form during a full moon. The increasingly hairy body with large claws and teeth. The growth in physical size and intimidation of everyone in their path. Howling at the moon.

What does Kat Blackthorne give us in this story? You get the basics, BUT, she goes much deeper. Our Wolf (that incredibly sexy beast) lives in a forest filled with other wolves - families of them. Our Wolf is lovable, but can go dark and darker still when the time comes to protect loved ones. He’s a character you just want on your side (and on the forest floor - multiple times…wink wink).

Kat really shaped this world and made it her own. We see a lot more of Fenrir and its resident wolves. We see how our Wolf interacts with his surroundings (and the other Halloween Boys), and we see how he loves on and protects Blythe. He’s a man-beast of multiple roles, just like Blythe.

We see how Blythe gets more into her true self - and she takes on multiple roles, one in which I loved the dialogue for about what it means to be a mother (thanks for writing that, Kat).

The world, the story, and the characters (and the spice) are what make these stories so much fun to read. I’ve mentioned this before, but Kat Blackthorne’s writing is truly shining in this universe, and I love seeing this for her.

Get lost in the Halloween Boys. Get tricked, get treated, and get fulfillment. Go! Now!

  • Marly is reading the dark side

Kat f*cking Blackthorne. I'm in love with her writing. I loved this book! Wolf felt warm and cosy in a spooky, monstrous and hot af kind of way. I devoured this book.

After the ending in Dragon's book, I couldn't wait to read what happened next.
I wasn't disappointed. We get to see a different side to Wolf. He is coming to terms with his other form, adjusting to his fate, while trying to keep things sweet (and spicy) with Blythe. Blythe is finally gaining some confidence over het abilities and Ghost is getting a grip on is possessiveness. Dragon is still a charmer with plenty of banter. I am here for it. The events in this book kept me hooked and I couldn't put this book down. Unfortunately I had to sleep at some point, but I finished reading the book the next day.

The spice in this book is, per usual, *chefs kiss*. I still can't pick my favourite Halloween boy, but I think most people reading this would say: Why choose? Blythe doesn't 😏

The ending of this book!! It may not come as a surprise, that Devil is a book I am looking forward to even more now. I have a feeling I will absolutely love it.

Loved the plot. Loved the spice. Love the Halloween boys.
Don’t forget to read the triggers.
Either as a warning or as a shopping list 🫠

Ps: I’ve had the pleasure of receiving this book as an ARC and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Kat has done it again! Wolf was everything I wanted and more from The Halloween Boys. This was the first book in years that left me with such a huge book hangover I couldn’t read anything else for a long time!

This Red Riding Hood retelling is spicy, full of emotion, and showcases the bond of the Halloween Boys even more. I don’t want to give spoilers so here’s a vague list of my favorite things

    - Blythe REALLY comes into her own in this book. She starts to embrace the Luna within and find her strength. She started the journey in Ghost but she has been very dependent on the Boys for protection. In this one, she gets sick of it and forces herself (and the Boys) to embrace her power.

    - Wolf Daddy is hot AF. Seeing him become more primal and feral is delicious. Also, someone FINALLY appreciates the leaving the panties on while have spicy time!! I thought it was just me.

    - LOVED the way the breeding k1nk was handled in this. I’m a no pregnancy girlie so this hit all the spots just right.

    - Ghost and Onyx…together…fuck yes.

    - More Devil is ALWAYS good and holy hell…y’all aren’t ready.

This book was fantastic and I cannot wait for Devil. I haven’t had a series have such a chokehold on me in…well, ever honestly. I feel seen. Thank you Kat for showing the light we can hold in our darkness.

  • Sadie

Yessss, another amazing book from Kat! I love every single thing about the Halloween Boys world and Wolf’s story is no exception. Ghost finally has his possessiveness under control for which I’m extremely grateful for, Onyx is his usual lighthearted self, and Blythe and Wolf are going through some major self journeys. And of course we get snippets of Devil, you have no idea how excited I am for his book. I love a enigmatic bad boy.

Wolf picks up where Dragon left off so I won’t say much more about the plot but I freaking loved this book. We get to see more of Fenrir, the creepy circus, and Ash Grove. I loved getting to see Wolf embrace his darker side and Blythe starting to find her own footing and independence within the group. And let me tell you, there’s some great spicy scenes!

One of the things I love about this series is that each book somehow manages to be completely different and unique while continuing the overarching story. It’s all just so good!

Thank you so much Kat for having me on your street team, I am so honored to get to read this before it’s official release.

    4.75 ⭐️

When you think there is no way Kat can top the last book, she goes and metaphorically slaps you in the face with a “do not underestimate me” that leaves your jaw hanging once you’re done reading it haha

Upon finishing Wolf, I immediately decided I will have to reread all 3 books before Devil comes out. Because the amount of detail and planning that went into creating this world is unbelievable! And I KNOW I will find some details that I missed the first time. How it all connects, and all the foreshadowing to events.

Now, for the boys. I just say Ames redeemed himself beautifully. During Dragon, I was 2 seconds away from snapping his neck because of the way he was acting. But in Wolf… this man gave me everything and more 🫠 Chapter 10, I’ve been waiting for you! And more group activitiesssss.
Wolfgang and Onyx continue to be the cutest little shits ever, and I throw up rainbows any time they interact.
And Blythe!!! My dear Blythe, I am forever in awe of your character development. I cannot wait to see you in the last book 🤩

Now I gotta find a way to make October arrive earlier, because there’s no way in hell I can wait until then for Devil lol

    -
I received an ARC, as part of the ARC team, but this review is what I honestly think.

"You and me. It's always been you and me. Since the moment I laid eyes on you, I knew you were my luna, Blythe. My moon."

The third book in The Halloween Boys series answers the question: "Yes, but what if Red Riding Hood was truly eaten by the wolf?" and it is an answer I did not know I needed until now.

Wolf is dealing with becoming an alpha, while Blythe wants to be more than just a damsel in distress for her boys. Don't worry Onyx and Ghost are there too (and my my what interesting scenes they have). The boys need to come to terms with the fact that it is not that she is theirs but that they are hers.

"If you're going to be a gluttonous, selfish prick, you'll at east share what of her is on your lips. Give me a taste of both of you."

    Tropes:
    - Plus Size FMC
    - Polyamorous/Why Choose
    - Red Riding Hood retelling
    - Breeding Kink
    - Halloween vibes
    - Found Family

We finally get to find out more about wolf! He is no longer the quiet, distant wolf we are used to, but it’s so, so good to hear him growl..

    May contain spoilers!!!

Blythe start’s trying to finally reign in her powers and embrace her role as Death. She finally gets to become part of Wolf’s world and become his Luna. Taking care of the pack will be much harder when things start to come after her and attack the pack. The Halloween boys and their beloved have to deal with creatures they thought would be easy to destroy, but end up calling on Judas to help figure things out and help with Blythe. Although he might have to duke it out with the boys before they get down to business..

We also get to know a bit more about Judas, aka Devil, but we will find out more since we still have his book to go! And I’m not spoiling what he does in the book, other than what I have above!

    The Halloween Boys -
    Book 3 : Wolf
    Spice : 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
    Stars : ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

THIS BOOK!! Oh my god. This read was everything I thought it would be and way more. The character development from each character was insane… especially ghost. He was such a refreshing read and I didn’t hate him.

I must say his and onyx’s scene 🥵🥵

I feel like I waited aages for this book and now it’s here I am just so happy, this read was amazing and fulfilling, I was left asking so many questions and then when they were answered I was so fckn happy.

I loved every character in this book and just feel deeper in love, especially with Blyth she’s amazing!
Kat really outdid herself and I am here for it!!

Now bring on daddy Judas 😈

  • Savannah Leigh

Did I devour it or did it devour me?

The wait for Wolf is over and WOW was it worth it!! This story took you on a journey not yet experienced in the first two books– one of a more romantic and whimsical route with some shocking twists! Kat so beautifully wrote this in a way that seamlessly melded the plot, despite the first two being much different. Now don’t get me wrong this definitely had darkness and the action, but it also brought out the loving tenderness we all knew Wolfgang had.
We saw a LOT more group development in this book which I absolutely loved; TALK ABOUT HOT. It has been so fun seeing not only Blythe’s relationship with each transform but also the guys with each other. Giving us all the poly love with desire! Can’t wait for book 4!

  • Michelle Marlow

This part of this series gripped my heart from beginning to end. I truly truly love Wolf. This immediately picks up where Dragon left off. So, make sure you check out Ghost and Dragon first. For those of you that have, hey hi how ya doing?! As always check trigger warnings, your mental health is more important.

I was not sure if I was going to love Wolf as much as the others….but goddess did I! You can truly feel how much he loves Blythe and the others of course.
    "You're my empire Blythe Pearl"

I found myself staying up and trying to get as far as I could into this because I needed to know. I needed to know who was after her and why?! We have our group clearly split from the events in Dragon. Along with well technically, not with, Judas, our devil. "It spit us out in the cemetery. You & me. It's always been you and me"

Meanwhile Wolfgang is clearly in his prime and fighting back his alpha because he does not want to hurt Blythe. As if anything could truly hurt our Belladonna, our death. "I am your lowly wolf. You are my moon. And I will chase after your light forever."

To sum up how I truly felt about this book, while I patiently but impatiently await the next "You are everything, Wolf. Everything."

  • lived_athousandlives

    Oh my Halloween Boys 🥰
    How I love you!

I love that through their bond with Blythe, their relationships are healing and becoming stronger.

Blythe is fighting to find her place and discover her strengths.

Wolf is learning to trust his nature and not resist it.

Ghost is allowing the others in and letting his little ghost walk on her own two feet.

Dragon is realizing his found family is what’s important and they’re his future.

    Devil is…well…Devil. 😅

    So excited for Devil’s book!

  • Madison Starnes

Though Dragon was my favorite after his book, but now I have a soft spot for our Wolfgang🐺❤️
This book was absolutely amazing & will have you questioning everything all the time. I completely devoured this book and couldn’t stop reading. I cannot wait until the next book!
Thanks for Kat & her team for kindly choosing me to be a part of their ARC group💕

I’m obsessed with Kat Blackthorne and the Halloween Boys, it’s one of my favorite series ever. I feel like I’ve waited forever for Wolf and it was worth the wait! The worldbuilding and character development in wolf was amazing! It’s super spicy with so many sweet scenes. Can’t wait for Devils story.

  • Kandace Allen

Every time i read a book from this series i fall more and more for these characters!! But i think wolf is for sure a fave! This book was hot steamy and ill never get tired of the halloween boys! Ash wood is the place to be when you are looking for a read full of mystery and some spicy smut 😏
I’d be wolfs luna any day! Lol

  • Aimee

    This BOOK 😭😭

I had been ravenous for it since I finished Dragon and it did not disappoint at all. Wolfgang Jack is just everything you want your Werewolf love of your life to be. Kats ability to build the world for you is still incredible if not even better than previously. And the relationships just get more and more dynamic. You get to see different sides of the Boys and understand more about them and their relationships outside of Blythe. Blythe really comes into her own in this part of the story and I cannot WAIT to see what she's building towards in Devil.
October and Devil can't come soon enough. Honestly one of the best series | ever happened to pick up and I will scream
    at everyone to read it.

p.s. It picks up right where Dragon left off and I recommend a re-read before diving in.

This was such a good book,
