Adventures with Finn and Skip: Bee Reviews
-
Read this book to your child when you aim to introduce what may become a lifelong quest: Tackling climate change. Including doing this to help protect the animals.
I love it when authors write books to introduce childen to their greatest passions in life. Clearly, this Finn and Skip book by Brendan Kearney is a passion project, a caring project.
His pictures are lovely, his text is scaled to the point of view of a child. Partway through the book, readers meet Hazel, the beekeeper. She is a lovely character who explains a great deal about bees. Practical suggestions are included so that kids can take practical action to help the bees.
FIVE STARS for the book, as well as the purpose of this book. -
Started out as a story about two kids spending the day with grandpa and then turned into a lesson on caring for bees. It was an odd mix of fiction and nonfiction that just didn’t flow well. I do adore the illustrations though!

I think that this fun story carries an important message about the importance of bees for everyone.
