It’s Truth for Love is a short novella set in Jax Stuart’s Second Chances series and it’s a prequel for a new series Whitehills. We met Jonas in So Worth More. He’s an actor that is closeted. He’s also been in a relationship with Dale. When Jonas makes a move to come out, media and fans are horrendous to Dale and Dale runs back home to Whitehills. Jonas will do anything for Dale. He follows Dale home, and he works hard to prove that. This is their love story!! One of the things I love about this authors story’s is that she has a way of creating depth to her characters even in a short novella. I disliked how the fans of Jonas treated Dale, but it felt so realistic. I loved how Jonas proved himself to Dale, their romance is beautiful. The ending is truly beautiful! Overall, a fantastic read! It kept me engaged, turning the pages. The story was really well written, the pacing was smooth, highly recommend.

This was the perfect short story full of sweetness and heart. It was about fighting for what you want and be happy. I really enjoy Jax' writing and I look forward to seeing what's next from her.

sweet & angsty
This is the story of Jonas, an actor, and Dale, a cameraman he met on set. Jonas loves Dale. He doesn’t care that he’s a cameraman. His manager may think Dale isn’t good enough for him, but to him Dale is all he’ll ever need or want. 😍 BUT his plan to come out goes awry, Dale gets outed, and all hell breaks lose.
This was an angsty, loving, short story that was a great way for me to get out of my head. I absolutely adored their relationship and how Jonas loved Dale. I loved how Dale tried so hard to make things special for Jonas. I wonder if well hear more from Whitehills and Jonas and his theater. Will we get to know more of Dale’s wonderfully welcoming family? If not, at least we got to meet this super cute couple! -
I decided to read this one since the author added it back to KU before they remove it from sale completely as a contemporary book in January 2024. I’ll be honest that this wasn’t that entertaining. I think because it was related to another series that I was out of the loop on who everyone was. I didn’t really connect with the characters. I wasn’t rooting for Jonas and Dale like I usually would be. Also there wasn’t much steam either. I think there was only one sex scene at around 78%. Maybe 2-2.5 out of 5 stars?

Short and beautiful
A beautiful take on insecurities and how social media can make them flare. Jonas & Dale are so perfectly matched it hurt to see them suffer just to be their true selves. So proud of Jonas for taking a stand against the media for being so cruel to such a beautiful soul. Beautiful read. -
A short little novella, a slightly painful tale showing the nasty side of the world of fame and celebrates and the vicious words that some can spew. But, in the end, love can conquer all, maybe . .

Just not good. It's just a short story but I started skipping dialogue. No chemistry, too perfect of a small town. Oh, look there's an empty theater. Ugh, no.

DNF, so I’m not going to rate it as it doesn’t seem fair. I suspect it might be me rather than the book, judging by the other reviews, but I couldn’t connect with the MCs at all.

A sweet, second-chance story only the second chance is with the same person <3
The lovely, small-town vibes and accepting family give a cosy, near rom-com feel. -
