Lord what a ride!
For the longest I thought I was gonna end up hating my baby Ames after this book and was NOT OK 😅
I totally get where his possessiveness and need to protect Blythe is coming from, but I wanted to smack him so many times! My man’s need to chill and take a step back, and let Onyx & Wolf do their thing with Blythe, sheesh!
I did love seeing Onyx and Blythe’s relationship change as they became closer, and I loved learning more about who Onyx is as a character too now that he’s free from Ash Grove and knows where he’s from… His absolute love and obsession for Blythe was 😍
Dragon gave all the drama and spice, and I think I might love the Halloween Boys even more than I did before. SOOOOO looking forward to Wolf’s book next 😍 & LOVED seeing a certain rogue devil pop up more often and cannot wait for his book either! Seeing as how it’s the last you know it’s gonna be good 😩 -

I've been dying to read this since ghost and we have Onxy/Dragons story!!
My babes are back!! Onxy and I gotta say I love him!! He had a temper, he was alittle broody for good reason and I love his kink of sleep sex with his Mates (wolf and Blythe). And now it's his turn for his adventure.
Pirate ship!!! And fighting between the guys! It was rough since he was fighting with Ghost most of the time.. GHOSTTTT!! was being a little punk towards Onxy and Wolf hands down I understood why he was doing it but the way he went about it was wrong, he was also a big douche in rubbing it in there faces.. not cool Ghost..not cool.. but I also blame Blythe she also had the power to tell ghost hey stop being a douche to the guys but she didn't. So I was glad when Onxy kinda sorta betrayed them to get his one on one with Blythe, and boy was that needed 😈 let's say lots of deliciousness went down between them and alot of drama when everyone is reunited. I can't wait for the next book!!
I have so many questions!! What is Devil/Judas want with his visits? Wtf happened to Wolf?
Wtf happened to the town?
No ow/om drama, no cheating, Drama, sexy times, no virgins

i'm not sure what's missing from the story, but clearly something is. as much as i loved the first one, this sequel got boring (for me) pretty quickly which was a huge bummer because i was looking forward to onyx's story. but apart from the cool circus scene, and the pirate adventure, i felt like everything that happened upon meeting the king was just ... glossed over. idk. i have a lot of mixed feelings about this one and it hurts my soul to not have liked it. i just wish that there was more action and less internal monologuing
2 stars :/ -
I'm obsessed with Onyx, so it's even harder for me to admit that I liked "Ghost" more. (Only his book not him 😈)
The Vampire Kingdom is fangtastic - we love anti-capitalist vampires, don't we? The doors are an outstanding idea and I like the story with Onyx' family but somehow it just wasn't as smooth as the first volume - maybe there was just a little too much going on all in all.
Nevertheless, I will jump right into Wolf's story.
See you there, Belladonna 🖤 -
kinda incredibly boring. onyx and ames both act like kids instead of 200 yr olds (🚩). i wish more storyline was put into certain revelations that took place throughout the book (ames magically deciding to drop the “miNe” act with blythe even though they’re all mates, blythe convincing onyx’s mom to come back, etc.). idk even the orgy seemed halfhearted. not my fav, and i hope the next book will be better.

"Death was my love, and I'd spend eternity dying for her."
These ridiculously amazing Halloween Boys have my whole heart! I already had a soft spot for Onyx and this journey of discovering his family and himself just made me fall even harder! Excited to dive into Wolf! -
I WANT A HALLOWEEN BOY. Well… I want them all but let’s be honest who doesn’t. I loved exploring Onyx in this book. I love Ghost but have been excited to see more of Blythe’s men.
The world definitely expands and we seen more than just Ash Grove. I really liked venturing into Belladonia and seeing more of the vampire world. Oh and the spice was splendid. I do love this group and am SO EXCITED for Wolfs book next. That cliffhanger has me itching for more.
*slight spoiler*
I could’ve lived without the spider nightmare fuel. Spider shifters should not be a thing, just saying. -

I really enjoyed this next installment of the Halloween Boys story! A little less spice than Ghost but still good spice…. Especially in the second half 🥵 I like the systematic reveal of Blythe’s growth as a character and how connected she is to the Halloween Boys. The introduction of new parts of the world building were interesting and the ending! 😮💨
Can’t wait to read Wolf and Devil! -
The journey continues. This time, we leave behind our beloved Ash Grove to seek answers in far land of Belladonia, the City of Vampires.
Due to the fact that it's book two in the series, I'll not go into too many details. I don't want to spoil anything.
In this book, we have a pleasure to learn more about Onyx/Dragon. His feelings for Blythe are getting stronger, and the urge to claim her as his mate is more uncontrollable. But don't forget about our resident demon Ames/Ghost, who took opon himself to protect our girl and keep her away from the other until they were worthy or she is ready. I got a bit frustrated with Ghost honestly because come on let the girl breath she is stronger then you think, but he redeemed himself, so we are OK 😁 and once he shared...dear lord 🥵 the spice is real 🔥
One of the characters I'm most intrigued about is Judas/Devil. He comes and goes, speaks in riddles, and he just makes you want him more, lol
Last but not least, Wolf. I just want to squeeze him, our peacemaker. He gives me the warmest vibe, and the bond between him and Onyx is beautiful. But I've got a feeling we might see different side of him in the upcoming book 🐺 can't wait!
What else I would like to mention is that Kat did a phenomenal job creating this mystical land pictured in the book. The twists she took on the original folklore myths and creatures are truly entertaining and very much enjoyable.
If you had a taste of The Halloween Boys in book one, you don't want to miss this one 💚 -
For those who haven’t read Ghost, it’s definitely recommended to read that first to follow on the story line. We meet Dragon, Wolf, Devil and Ghost in the previous book in the series, Ghost 🖤
I fell in love with Blythe, Ghost, Dragon, Wolf and Devil instantly in Ghost and more so in Dragon. It was impossible not to fall in love with the boys within both of these stories even including Devil, who is probably one of the biggest owners of a red flag collection known in existence. But as always, I’m absolutely fine with that. The more red flags, the better. Right? .. The characters within this series have a special place in my heart, I was first introduced to these characters in a period of my life which I needed comfort the most and escaping into Kats world and Ash Grove, definitely gave me that comfort.
I was so excited for Dragons book, I enjoyed the story line, it was entertaining but it pains me to say I did prefer Ghosts book better - which is obviously absolutely fine, we all have our preferences. This book was a fun read, just for me personally, I just feel as though something was missing.
I absolutely adore Wolfs character - he is definitely my favourite Halloween boy, he can claim me any day, everyday, whenever, where ever he likes. Challenge accepted.
After the ending of this book, I’m even more excited for his story to begin and to be thrown back into Kat’s world and Ash Grove once again. -
Ghost, my friend, you were almost unbearable on the first book, but I could throttle you in this one. My boy Onyx was a liar and trickster but I loved him nontheless. Blythe was kinda bland here, I was expecting more badassery but ok. The whole thing with Onyx's dad could be seen a mile away and was solved extra fast. I liked rhe pirates, I want more of them. The vampire city with its doors was a great idea, also wanted more of it.
It was a bit messier than the first book but I enjoyed it anyways. -
What can I honestly say other than I love the Halloween Boys. Ghost captured my attention. Onyx stole my heart. This book from chapter one stole me in an instant. The first chapter gave me shivers. Half way through i was fully engrossed at 70% i hated putting it down to eat and socialize. And when i finished it - i found myself wishing to be a pirate or to be transported to another world. I found myself seeing sides of each of the boys that made me love them more. I found Onyx to be the perfect bleeding heart and so excited to be there for his journey into the truth. The spice was on point and the ending had me going WAIT NOOOO I NEED WOLF NOW!!
Kat did amazing with this. And i don’t want to spoil anything - but i will say ; you HAVE to read this. You will devour it in one sitting and it’ll make you wish it was time for the next story of the Halloween Boys and their little reaper 🖤 -

i really didn’t love the first book of this series, so i should have known better than to have high expectations for this book, but here we are. i wanted to give this series another try since it is fall/halloween vibes but i was just very unimpressed by this one. i just really wasn’t interested in the storyline and the characters fell really flat for me. blythe is always “i don’t know how to do anything” and i just got really annoyed with that. the guys were fine i guess but i didn’t feel like they were anything special in the book. i didn’t really love the spice which honestly may have been because i was so over the characters, but honestly this book just wasn’t it for me. i will not be continuing the series
“love is friendship that has caught fire” -
After breaking the curse on Ash Grove, they set out on a mission to find Dragon’s parents. Ghost is feeling extra protective of Blythe and doesn’t trust Dragon to keep himself in line. Dragon takes matters into his own hands to get some time alone with Blythe. They find themselves in a castle in the sky and Dragon is reunited with his long lost father. However, his sweet words don’t exactly match up with his actions. He has ulterior motives to keeping his son and Blythe in his city. Enjoyed this book, however was slightly annoyed with Ames in this book and lack of power development for Blythe. On to Wolf!

Mom gave me eyes and I abuse them.
I wanted to quickly finish this series before iron flame comes out but I’m over it. I keep reading these types of books, while I cringe at so many parts. -

Super grateful to have been given the ARC - releases February 14th 🖤💚
Wowza this book was a wild ride. It’s insane how so much happens in under 350 pages 🤯 I was super obsessed with Ghost and Blythe’s story in the first book and this was a perfect sequel. I love Onyx and finding out his story, ugh, I just wanna hold him and love him. Ghost did kinda piss me off in this, when you read you will understand, and I wish Blythe would’ve stood up to him a little more when it comes to her mates. If I was Onyx I would’ve done the same thing! 💁🏽♀️
I love the world Kat created in the sky! I love Wolfgang and his patience. I love how Devil visits, can’t wait for his book. I have a feeling it’s gonna be intense 🥵 I’m excited to see Blythe’s power develop and their relationship 😍 overall this was amazing and I can’t wait for Wolfs book. I was sad we had to wait til the end for the 🌶️🌶️ with all four, but it was 🥵🥵 definitely need more of that -
The concept of this series still intrigues me, but the writing in this book was not it.
We continue our story of Blythe and the Halloween boys, and finally also a few snippets of Devil.
The plot is honestly all over the place. We know it's suppose to be Dragon's, aka Onyx's story. We know he is trying to find his family and figure out his past. And it's confusing af. So many things happen, without I feel like full explanations. I get that world building is trying to happen, I just found the execution bad. There was just literally so much going on, and we never really dive too deep into anything.
I was most intrigued with Onyx when I read the first book. Even more than Ghost even though it was Ghost's book. I feel like his character fell short. Again, I feel like I get where the author was trying to go, but also again, the execution just wasn't there.
This spice is good, also interesting. We learn that Onyx has a sleeping kink. So trigger warning on that. There is obvious consent beforehand, but just fyi there is sex while sleeping.
I'm interested to see where the series goes. Again, I really like the concept and a lot of aspects, I just hope the writing gets better. With as much world building and plot they're trying to do, the books need to be longer and better written. -
I loved Ghosts book and was really excited to learn more about Onyx and his story with Blythe. I read this book as a ARC read and also listened to this book as well! I like learning his back story on where he came from and his relationship with Blythe and Wolf.
The Audio for sure made me catch things from reading I didn’t catch before. And you got more of the emotions from everyone. His dedication/obsession to Blythe through this book was amazing.
Getting to see Onyx’s relationship Wolf was just the perfect amount to see how their relationship has been before Blythe.
Overall I can’t wait to see more of all 5 of them in Wolf and Devil soon! -
Holy god this book was even better than the first in the series. So many phenomenal scenes.😍🤌 Apparently vampire/dragons are definitely my thing, and I am totally ready for more! Loved the story line, and learning more about dragon. That end scene was everything 🥵🥵🥵
-
“Women are like the ocean, especially women like Ez and Blythe. They’re as deep and mystical and mysterious as the all-knowing waves. Any pirate is a fool if he tries to control it, to own it, or keep it in a jar fer only himself. You’d be killin’ yourself tryin’ and disrespecting the sea herself.”
“I know that I do not own her, and I don’t want to. There are others for her. Wolfgang and Onyx. But I do want to keep her safe. That is my job, Vex.”
“Yer self-appointed one. The ocean don’t need chains, boy. She needs skilled sailors. Respect and love make a captain. Tryin’ to control it is the fastest way to lose yourself and lose the woman you love; I guarantee you that. Demon or not, love’s the same for all creatures, powerful and weak... I know she’s special. I’ve felt power like hers before, long ago. Lots of those wanting to use it. More of those hopin’ she never sees it and realizes what she’s capable of. Are you one of them? Cause the ocean has a way of reminding us of who’s in charge.”
I have very conflicting feelings about this book.
On the one hand, there are some absolutely stunning standout moments and passages. I love Onyx and I absolutely loved that we got more time with him, I loved the mystery surrounding his parentage and the whole vampire/dragon hybrid thing. He's pretty much the embodiment of two of my most favorite things ever.
Also, Judas makes a few choice appearances in this book, and while I am absolute trash from the other three Halloween Boys, I need more of the Devil. Nothing snares and holds my attention as effectively as him.
I also liked that Blythe was able to get away from Ames (whose possessiveness was starting to grate almost right out the gate) and Wolf and spend some one on one time with Onyx. I liked getting to see more regarding her arc and who she has the potential of being.
However, it felt like something was missing from this book and for the life of me, I can't figure out what. I found myself skimming multiple times and I don't know if I just wasn't in the right mood or if this particular book was just... kinda boring? Which sucks, because I love these characters and the main plot points are pretty solid for the most part. I guess the execution was just inconsistent and generally lacking - at least for me. As much as I love Onyx, Dragon as a book just wasn't as strong as Ghost was.
And now that I think about it, I'm realizing that part of why I struggled with this book is it felt like filler a lot of the time. Onyx and Blythe have such chemistry in that first book, and yet in this one, when we finally get to see them alone more, it just falls flat... in fact, everyone feels kind of muted.
Except Judas. Devil has my complete and undivided attention whenever he shows up on the page.
So yeah. Not my favorite book, but its weak points are not enough to lower the rating further... But I cannot deny that I came into this book expecting so much more, and was mostly left feeling rather meh about it.
Oh well.“Why are you so lonely, even when the guys and I are near?”
Her big brown eyes met mine in wonder. Glancing back to the misty street, she laced her fingers with mine.
“Melancholy is in everything I do. It’s the feeling I’m most at home with.” I tilted my head to inspect her, intrigued.
“You enjoy being sad?”
“I like the dark and storms and monsters, and maybe I like life tinged with a bit of sorrow. It makes the good moments more beautiful, more potent, I think.” She shrugged. “Do you think I’m crazy?”
“I think you’re exquisite.” -
So the second book of the Halloween boys focuses on... Yup Dragon - Onyx Hart. And of course Blythe who is as we know, unbeknownst to her, mate to them all.
Now that the Curse has dropped from Ash Grove, Onyx can finally search for his long lost parents and try to discover some answers he's longed for. They all view this as a vacation, and for wolf, a boyhood dream aboard a real life pirate ship! Love wolf. He has this little puppy side to him that you can't help but encourage!
However, Ghost is still being over possessive of Blythe which is driving Onyx nuts. So he makes a decision to bribe the captain to drop just him and Blythe off at the stop to the location to his father and to take the other two home.....
This has both positive and negative consequences for onyx. And he forgets that Blythe isn't daft and begins to question where they are....
His father turns out to be king of Belladonia, making him a Prince, but all is not as it seems in this floating island. There's a vampire hunter undercover, strange spirits hovering around, we meet a spider shifter and the King himself? Something isn't right.
Onyx realises that he needs his friends at his side and to have his back- his family, and misses them too.
The Storyline for onyx alone is sweet about him trying to find his parents and to try to find out more about who he is. Being a hybrid has to be hard and knowing where you came from could help. But the answers dont come easily. It was fun to see its not just fire he gets from his mothers side!
I love the way his realisation that he needs and loves his brothers comes after he deserts them. After being denied Blythe over and over again he felt pushed to the edge by ghost so he felt the separation was his only choice but to come to see that his heart isn't full without them there was perfect.
Blythe story continues on in the background and leaves us with a fantastic cliffhanger after they all partake in a blood exchange to cement their bond. It went and felt so tight..... Till something went so wrong...
And omg how am I meant to wait!!! Can't wait for Wolf's book! Now Blythe knows they're all meant to be together that shouldn't be an issue.... If they're all together.. But Devil is popping up more and he's a complete mystery...
Loving this series!! -

Series: Halloween Boys #2
⚠️Check triggers⚠️
Blythe is settling in to her new life in Ash Grove after the events from Halloween night. She's learning new things about herself and blissfully in love with Ames, but something is missing. She feels a pull to Onyx and Wolfgang, and realizes that she may have more than one love. When the opportunity to find Onyx's parents arises, Blythe and the other Halloween Boys offer to help him. But things take a turn when Blythe and Onyx are separated from the others. Things get steamy and secrets are revealed that will change their lives forever.
Let me start by saying I love Kat and her books so much. Hot Queens is one of my favorite series and I really enjoyed Ghost. I did like parts of this book and I understand what Kat was trying to do, but the execution fell flat for me.
Let's start with what I liked. I enjoyed the relationship exploration between Blythe and the guys. You can feel the connection they all have with her, but also the connection they have with one another. Ames was frustrating, but once he let the guys in to their relationship with Blythe, I enjoyed his possessiveness of her. I thought the monster/paranormal elements were interesting and want to see more.
I struggled a lot with this book because there were so many different paranormal/monster elements thrown together that felt unnecessary. A monster circus, pirates, vampire city in the sky, etc., was a lot for this story. I don't necessarily think it needed to be longer, I think some of the elements needed to be taken out. I also struggled with Onyx and Blythe's relationship because it didn't feel like they had much of a connection. They felt like friends who could maybe like one another some day. I definitely feel like Blythe has more of a connection with Ghost and Devil (who we've barely met) over Onyx.
I'm excited for Wolf's book, but I'm especially excited for Devil's book. He's had me intrigued since the beginning and this book only made me more intrigued by him.
Thank you to Kat for the early copy in exchange for an honest review! -

Review : Loved this book can't wait for book 3 . This is onyx and blythe story . The witches want to ban blythe from town . So blythe takes the opportunity to help onyx find his dad so all the boys and blythe go on a pirate ship to belladonna. Ames was a bit possessive of blythe which I understand but all the guys love her and things get spicy fast with all of them . Blythe and onyx get separated from ames and wolf and that's onyx doing he wanted time with her . They get to belladonna and meet onyx dad who is a bit nuts . Blythe finds out her blood kills vampires. Onyx and blythe get spicy it's hot as hell . The boys are back with onyx . Onyx dad uses onyx for blood to get onyx mom back and when blythe is knocked she brings onyx mom back and she becomes the ruler . Ames , onyx and wolf and blythe all do a blood pact . Can't wait for the next book.
Quotes I’d been with both him and Ghost countless times through the years
His beauty struck me like a blow to the gut. His black hair meeting at the point of a widow’s peak, the emerald gleam in his too-bright predatory stare, and the lily hue of his skin. Onyx didn’t look real. He looked like a piece of art come to life.
You pick the worst times to flirt.” “You pick the worst times to scream. -
i expected more of this book and now i’m disappointed. i won’t continue the series. the most interesting moments were the times when judas visited blythe. but it was like 5 times. it was unfortunately another book where nothing happened for 350/400 pages and the last 50 of them were so rushed that you couldn’t understand what just happened .
and there were secrets again. nobody told fmc she had multiple mates instead of one.
it was frustrating how slow the romantic plot progressed just bc ames was “protecting” blythe. he annoyed the crap out of me, he was pulling tamlin. but omg then onyx was no better.
i liked onyx in the background more. in this book he was selfish and not that likable. they came into this strange new place and then onyx went all mysterious and avoided fmc.
for the second book halloween boys kept underestimating their opponents. onyx wanted his daddy to love him so much , he missed all the red flags.
wasn’t sure about these scenes. on the one hand, she did give her consent, on the other though……:“You … want to have sex with me while I’m sleeping?”
i didn’t like that for majority of the book we didn’t see ames and wolf. the boys were the most enjoyable when they were altogether. when they were one on one with blythe , there’s something lacking.
also didn’t appreciate the cliff. it didn’t make me want to read the next book, it just annoyed me even more. -
The first novel in this series starring Blythe and her Halloween Boys was the story of Blythe and Ghost. Now we follow Blythe and Dragon (Onyx) as they explore their personal relationship through the dynamics of their polyamorous group. As each new book introduces a new dynamic, we still have POV’s from previous characters, which meant this novel oscillated between Blythe, Ghost, and now included Dragon’s POV as well.
With the revelation of what kind of monster Blythe is, and why she fits so well with the Halloween Boys, the group is faced with a major ‘what’s next’ decision. Through lots of scheming and mostly understandable betrayal on Onyx’s part, he and Blythe are whisked away to the world of the vampires.
I’m really enjoying how Blackthorne has set up each novel so that we get a distinct look at each character. We get to explore not only their present predicaments, but also their backstories and what led up to these moments with Blythe. Dragon’s history, and this hidden world of the vampires, was absolutely fascinating. The ethereal, cunning, delectable vibes of this book settled so deeply into my soul as a connoisseur of vampire myths and legends.
I loved how much of this story was centered on Onyx/Dragon coming to terms with himself and his monsters, as well as how he expressed his unwavering love for Blythe. This story was a fantastic second installment in this series, and I’ve got to admit I’m falling for the Halloween Boys just as hard as our heroine. -
I felt for Onyx in this one, searching for his parents who seemingly abandoned him as a child without so much as a memory to hold onto. His desire for Blythe growing every day. This felt like such a self discovery journey and I think certain decisions he made during the book were the right choice, to put himself and be selfish for once. Seeing him embrace his dragon side was emotional to say the least. Onyx supremacy 🐉
The world building is just insane, my imagination was running wild. There are a lot of characters to keep track of but I just adore the diverse groups that run throughout and learning about them is so much fun! I would just love to live in this world.
The found family aspect was definitely one of my favourite things in this book. I felt like I was just living in my feels the entire second half. I love our Halloween Boys and I’m so excited for the other books, especially Devil’s. My intrigue is PEAKED.
And the spice, I mean we all knew after THAT scene in Ghost we were onto a winner but 😏 it was absolute *chefs kiss*
Fire. 🩸 orgy. Somnophilia. MMFM. 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻 -
This book put me in a 4 month reading slump i am still not out of.
I know the exact sentence where i put down the book and didn’t pick up another one.
It was “I love your black cum,”
And it’s even more disappointing bc i was looking forward to this book! I wanted to know dragon’s story!
But somehow within the first 20% of the book, it was all ruined.
Ames is a dick who can’t share and the sex scenes are cringy af. And the reason (I’m sure- didn’t get far enough to find out) that they end up leaving town makes ZERO SENSE. She saves the ENTIRE TOWN in book one and a week later they want her gone? BS. She literally could have made dragon wanting to find his parents the reason they left. There was no need for the witches to turn on whatever the main chick’s name is.
I can’t finish this book or this series. Maybe the only reason i was able to finish book one was bc i wanted to find out what supernatural creature the main girl was. -
I don’t know how Kat comes up with these stories, but I’m here for it! I love this series so freaking much!
I love that we were taken on what felt like an entirely different story than what we saw in ghost. Getting to know onyx better was amazing! You get to see a lot more vampires and pirates in this one, along with getting introduced to some very important characters. That ending though.. kat if you see this, I need the next book asap! I need answers!
As usual, read the trigger warnings before diving in blind.. don’t get mad at the author if you stumble across something you didn’t want to read! We love our authors and all of their twisted tales. -
Welcome back to Ash Grove, but not for long! Blythe and the Halloween Boys venture outside of Ash Grove for the first time together, and for the boys the first time in 200 years, to look for Onyx parents! Onyx and Blythe end up in Belladonia where we meet King Vlad, who turns out to be Onyx father! Gone mad with grief looking for his love, Onyx mother, things don’t seem right as time goes on. And Ash Grove seems to be in danger again. What has been days, maybe weeks for Blythe and the Boys, it has been 2 years in Ash Grove. I can’t wait for Wolfgang’s book and to find out what is happening! Kat has done it again!
