Tavern of Terror Vol. 2: Short Horror Stories Anthology Reviews
-
I read Horror year-round, of course; but there's something particularly scrumptious about devouring Horror (good-quality, get-your-scares-on Horror) during the Spooky Season [which for me is September through December]. Night falls early, the weather is chill, sometimes you need the heater, and you just can't see what's lurking outside in the yard. [Plus, cold weather puts more blankets between me and the Monsters!]
I'm particularly enjoying Scare Street's newest series, Tavern of Terror, because while each Volume is a themed Anthology revolving around the same small-city pub, the stories are far-ranging, imaginative, original...and very, very scary. I now have a new layer of chill bumps, a whole new collection of nightmare fodder, and am looking forward to another night of keeping all the Lights On. -
Absolutely LOVED these stories! I imagine volume 3 is going to be even better.
There are some stories that can make a person's stomach turn, so watch for those. However, when it comes to horror, this is your one-stop-shop for the awesomeness! -
Another excellent collection of scares from Scare Street, from whom I've come to expect great offerings. This publisher never fails to crank out the good stuff. You know something bad is probably going to happen to the characters in every story but the frosting on the cake is that you never know what the bad will be. It's usually nothing as mundane as a simple haunting. It's that anticipation of a great conclusion that keeps me turning pages late into the night.
The usual suspects are here such as Ian Fortey, David Longhorn and Sara Clancy but we also get offerings from newer writers that are every bit as good. You need to read this one. -
Like the first volume these stories were just as good and had me even turning the lights on at night ,While listening and the words echoing through the house, really does give you the Willy’s . I really enjoyed each one and the narrator does an excellent job with the characters from each story breathing life into them.

Wow
Scary short stories are the best. If you don't have time to set down and dig into a good book, the thrill of a short story will suffice.
