Savage Games Reviews
-
Savage Games is my first read from Rachel Leigh, and I will definitely be coming back for more. It has mystery, angst, steam, sexy, alpha asshole heroes, a fiesty af heroine, and a dash of dark academia vibes. In other words, everything I could want from a NA reverse harem, bully romance.
I can't wait for the next installment! -
4 STARS
She’s the only girl in the world who makes me wanna slap her and fuck her at the same time.
I have been desperately looking for an academia, bully, why choose romance that would hit the spot just right. I tried and DNFd several until I somehow landed on a recommendation for this book on my Amazon KU list. And boy am I glad I did! Because this seriously hit the spot I didn't even know I had.Ya know. If you worked your fingers inside my p*ssy as well as you do around my neck, I might be coming right now.”
I carry her back to where she belongs—back pressed to the shelf. “You are a dirty-talking wh*re, you know that?”
“Only with you.”
Scarlett is a heroine that I immediately liked. This is a tough as nails FMC that isn't afraid to stand up for herself. Growing up, she was the one on the outskirts of the group. The immediate object of dislike from Neo, and his two best friends that followed suit.
Now she's older, and doesn't take any sh*t. But the torment that started when she was a little girl hasn't let up. Suddenly she finds herself at the same school as her three tormentors, who rule the school. But Scar is no one's victim.
Neo, Crew, and Jagger are known as the Lawless. The three kings of the school by birthright and power. They pulled a lot of strings and manipulation to get Scarlett right where they want her, and now they're going to throw her deep into the games of their society's initiation rights.
I was immediately drawn into the dynamics of this story and the characters. I loved Scar's sassiness, even if at times she was almost a bit much. This is a girl that's not afraid to throw punches. And in all fairness, she doesn't start, but she does finish it. Then you have the guys. Jagger, the adrenaline junky. Crew, the boy she once gave her heart to, only to have it be crushed. And Neo, who hates her with a passion.
What I really loved about this book is the slow build of the relationship. It seems each book will focus on the romantic element with each guy. They don't start out wanting to share, so I'm super curious to see how it all comes together. This book focused on the relationship between Crew and Scar. With each chapter, we get a tiny glimpse into the past, and what's transpired to bring them to the point they are today. The characters are well developed and the story is twisty and gritty that it kept me completely glued to the pages and immediately starting book two once I finished.
Find me on:

📚 🆂🅰🆅🅰🅶🅴 🅶🅰🅼🅴🆂 📚 Is the first full length bully academy romance book in the series (BASTARDS OF BOULDER COVER) by 'Rachel Leigh' Spoken in 'dual perspectives.'
Throw in some twisted games, some twists and turns, and some hot guys and this was a great start to what I can only imagine is going to be an outstanding series.
With two expulsions under her belt Scarlett is sent to 'Boulder Cove Academy' where the rules are strict and no communication with the outside world, throwing her under the thumb of her archenemies the 'Lawless Crew', Crew, Jagger and Neo.
These boys will have you all twisted up inside, the games they play, the threats they dish out, only our heroine isn’t a weeping willow, she doesn’t follow the rules they dish out and this has these guys floundering in her wake.
It’s spicy, suspenseful, and has you inhaling this book at record speeds.

I seriously did not want this book to end! It was so good! So dirty, so captivating and it had me on the edge of seat. This was phenomenal and really gave us a 0-60 start to this series. I am down for every dark moment.
Scarlett is sent to Boulder Cover Academy after getting kicked out of the school she was attending her senior year. She pleads to her parents that she can't go, but it falls on deaf ears. Thrown back into the world of the savages better known as Lawless - Neo, Crew and Jagger. Now she gets to play their silly games whether she wants to or not. Once somewhat friends now mortal enemies. They will stop at nothing to have her on her knees, broken and for their taking. Each of them completely different, but together they are powerhouse. I'm not sure if any are being truthful at this point. One I want to punch in the D, one I want to climb like a tree and do naughty things with... ok two I want to climb like a tree! Holy hotness HATE S*X at it's best!
She isn't the quiet, meek young woman they knew. She is fierce and is quite the little bad ass. Refuses to go down without spewing vile words right back or even a nasty right hook if she deems it needed.
Dude! I can't wait for the next book! Rachel has brought to life a dark tale set around a secret society full of suspense and steam. -
took me almost a decade to finish this
And i hated every minute of it.
Okay see the thing is with reverse harems the guys got to be a team and they need to be together in this.
I hate when there's a tensions within the harem.
Can't you guys just be a team and fuck her?
Why do you gotta have this competition?
Bro just be a motherfucking team and ruin the woman -
4 ⭐️! This series is giving me Pretty Little Liar’s but make it a Guy Version with a twist!
Suspenseful, angsts, lots of sexual tension on a close knit friend group, this reverse harem had manage to grab and keep my interest!
I would have enjoyed more scenes that weren’t so juvenile at times but other than that I hope as I read the next two books they will be less teenage! -
So good! Neo is such a d**k though
-
It could had been better but it had quite a lot of my pet peeves, the first being the not like other girls girl, that is actually like every other girl from romance novels, because you know, we need to know that she's never going to be a girly girl. Because god forbids a romance FMC be nothing sort of rude, because authors doesn't seem to know that badass =/= rude. The FMC acting like she's the shit because she's from some society that she doesn't want to be a part of is not it. The FMC style should make us get to know her and not to try to differentiate her from every other girl in the world.
My second pet peeve is the instant best friend. Come on, just once make the FMC want to attend the party if she attending the party is so important to the story, we don't need a friend that have no other reason to be in the story other than to take the FMC to the party.
Scarlett kicking Crew's ass all the time was so annoying especially because the author insists on saying that the guy is bigger than the girl and there's nothing really backing up this girl having all this skills.
It didn't read as a HR because only one of the guys have a POV here.
Neo sounded creepy towards his sister and the jealousy surrounding Scarlett and Maddie's friendship. Jagger is there to make it a RH.
I don't kow anything about the society and honestly I just don't care at this point, the stalker "mystey" is not enough to make me want to read the second book. -

"ʟᴇᴛ ᴍᴇ ʟɪᴠᴇ ɪɴꜱɪᴅᴇ ʏᴏᴜ, ꜱᴄᴀʀ."
Hot. Damn. Savage Games was everything I wanted in a dark bully reverse harem romance. This book checked all the boxes and more. Rachel is freaking amazing, and she never disappoints me.
Scar has been through a lot, and the boys, especially Neo, don't make it any easier on her.
Scar is such a strong bada$$ FMC; she is definitely a force to be reckoned with, and I love her sassy attitude.
Crew, Neo, and Jagger are the HOT SEXY Alphaholes! Rachel did a fantastic job with them because I love how each guy is so different, and I can't wait to see more of their personalities unfold and how their connection evolves with Scarlett as the series continues.
This book has so many twists and turns with so many unanswered questions. I have an idea of how things could play out, but I will just have to wait until the next book!
I can't wait to get my hands on Vicious Lies and Twisted Secrets. -
3.5 stars
Romantic suspense, former friends turned enemies and they, Neo, Crew, and Jagger, have it out for Scarlett. So united in their hatred they have bullied their childhood friend from afar, creating incidents and disruption to cause her to be expelled from high school after high school. Now transferred to their academy, she’s under their clutches. The question is why, though it most certainly involves in part to her best friend and favored girl in their mix, Maddie.
The story featured three hot heroes, from the lead and biggest jerk, a broody Neo, to mixed feelings and mildly aggressive Crew, to playful but equally united Jagger. Scarlett encountered skirmishes with these elite boys, who are duty-bound to make her pay. The story unfolds revealing the genesis of their rapport, the resentment and hardened animosity — and there is a best friend Maddie in the mix as well as another, unknown, dangerous player.
Scarlett was fierce, admirably so, challenging the guys in their demands but at the same time, frustratingly, always succumbing while being drawn to them, especially Crew. Her contradictory behavior ran throughout the entire story. Thus, repetitive in their encounters in the sense of Scarlett's posturing to stand up to the guys, go to war with them, but always submitting. This constant push and pull and caustic altercations rang less credible and awkward since she never stood her ground, especially in the face of such bravado.
I loved Crew, his jealousy, and his mixed feelings for Scarlett but wondered about his strength against lead hero, Neo. Neo, who was in charge, seemingly irredeemable, and to whom they all submitted, his authority felt imposed rather than given, which made Crew and Jagger appear weak, possibly on purpose -- at least for now. Jagger was not so distinctive in comparison to Crew and Neo. His personality wasn't clear. Still, the guys were smoldering appealing, an apparent, and in some cases denied, attraction between them and Scarlett.
A true bully romance, some cool ("pleasingly unpleasant") events occurred, particularly within the harem. Theirs was a toxic relationship, and I enjoyed their interplay.
The story was told in first person from limited points of view, mainly Scarlett's and Crew's. Lots of inner thoughts, particularly from Scarlett. There was little side character prominence in which more development could have added some complexity.
Overall, I wanted the story to progress, more character development. The plot line was a slow burn in which very little occurred other than the repetitive, back and forth interactions between the heroine and heroes. Unfortunate, as the beginning was very good and attention-grabbing. I enjoyed the mystery in the sub plot though.
For this to be a RH, almost no spice! But the hate sex was hot. Maybe book one is a warm up to book two.
Good story premise, some challenges in execution. I'm hoping for more in the next book as the foundation is promising. -
Savage Games By Rachel Leigh
✨ARC Book Review✨
Rating: 4.8/5
“I’d rather lie in an open grave with a dead body than be stuck in your company.”
Just like all books written by Rachel Leigh this one was phenomenal! Rachel Leigh knows how to write stories that gets you hooked from the very beginning, and has you sitting on the edge of your seat!
Savage Games is an amazing read! I could not put it down! If you love steamy, suspenseful, dark romance books with bully elements, and a secret society, you will love this book. Can’t wait for the next book to be released and see what happens next in Scarlett, Crew, Jagger, and Neo’s story!
Blurb:
I shouldn’t be here.
Let me rephrase that…
I never wanted to be here.
I didn’t ask for any of this.
Not the society I was born into.
Definitely not the academy I’m supposed to attend.
And sure as hell not the group I’m forced to play nice with.
Unfortunately, one too many school suspensions has catapulted me into the world I swore I’d never live in.
Boulder Cove Academy: Where The Lawless reign and those beneath them are ash between their fingertips.
The three leaders of this place—Crew, Jagger, and Neo—have always been an aching thorn in my side.
When things get ugly, I have no choice but to turn to the boys I loathe.
Acceptance means I become a slave to their darkest desires.
Bones to rattle.
A mind to shake.
In the thick of it all, I begin to see the truth. They never intended to help me.
They only want to destroy me.
One game at a time.
Amazing read and highly recommend! Can’t wait for the next book to come out!

Rachel Leigh brings a new dark, seductive and deceptive world in Savage Games, the first book in Bastards of Boulder Cove series. This new adult enemies to lovers dark reverse romance was full of dangerous twists, filthy lies and deliciously dirty passion. It leaves you immediately asking for more. If you are looking for drool worthy, swoon worthy and panty melting hot antiheroes..this book is for you. If you are looking for a bold and sassy heroine with broken edges who will make those heroes kneel..this book is for you.
I loved the whole setting of this book. It is set in a dark academia kind of vibe. A secret society. The school where the members of the society send their children for training to be part of the society. The Lawless who run the school. The games. The secrets. Oh I was so excited. It was so detailed and I felt being transported to a whole new world.
Neo, Crew and Jagger are the Lawless. Kings of the school. And Scarlett is their target. They hate Scarlett for an accident that was not her fault at all. But she isn't someone weak. She will play their games and beat them too. They have a complex dynamic. Neo is the most unhinged one. Darkest one. He wants to hate Scar but cannot resist her fierceness. Crew is the sweetest one. He and Scar have a very heartbreaking history too. Jagger confused me the most. He swings from smirking charming self to crazy side. It was sexy and deviant and emotional. And I want more.
I reviewed an early copy voluntarily -
I love bully romances and don’t have a problem with reverse harems even though most of the time I prefer the heroine to end up with one and change my mind a million times in between lol so as of now I have my favorite but have no idea where this will go next and can’t wait to find out. Crew, Neo and Jagger want Scarlett to pay but they have no idea how strong she is and how she’s not bowing down to anyone, especially them! Can’t wait for more
-
Savage Games is everything I love about Rachel Leigh’s writing! Amazing characters sizzling chemistry and twists and turns that I didn’t see coming! This one had me on the edge of my seat the whole way through and that surprising ending man I can’t wait for the next book already I just couldn’t get enough of Scarlett and her guys! This is definitely a book not to be missed!

i ATE THIS UP, literally binged it till 3am it was SO good, i went in kinda blind other than knowing it was bully and rh (these are my pallette cleansers) and i was not disappointed, hadnt planned to stay up but i literally couldnt put it down for the life of me.
the plot??? insane. the characters??? insane. the setting??? insane. the writing??? insane.
i need the rest of the series rn!! -
Fantastic start of this new series. I was hooked from the very first word and could not put it down!
Scarlett is one of the best FMCs. She’s strong, feisty, and gives as good as she gets. She may partake in these savage games, but she is no push over. These boys are in a ride for their lives. They may be the Lawless, but Scarlett doesn’t always follow rules and won’t easily bow down to these guys.
I love these guys and I love seeing the making of a RH. An angry leader, the lover who is torn between two worlds, and the quiet one who feels just as much. These guys have my heart and can’t wait to see them evolve!
This is one of my faves of Rachel’s work and can’t wait for the next one! -
“Say my name or I’ll f*ck you so hard, this shelf will fall over. And when it does, I’ll continue f*cking you on top of it with an audience.”
This moment is everything I wanted for so long, until I didn’t want it at all. Now that it’s here again, I want it to last forever.

🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
I started reading this after already reading The Wicked Boys of BCU books, and OH MY GOD.
I have never had so much love for a bully romance.
Scarlet is expelled from yet another school and has to enroll for her senior year at BCA, the one school she never wanted to attend. BCA is nothing but Blue Bloods, the society she swore along with her best friend, that they would never attend. Crew, Jagger, and Neo are part of the Lawless. The Lawless run things at BCA, and they finally have Scar right where they want her. Bullies who want to put her through hell, because they blame her for their mutual friend Maddie's coma... they are absolutely ruthless.
Scar takes no shit though! She's feisty as hell and doesn't take any of their crap lying down. She has to participate in "the games" to earn her place in the hierarchy and these guys waste no time trying to bend her will.
Secrets and lies unfold...
Brutally possessive, no one f*cks with Scar except for Crew, Jagger, and Neo. So what happens when someone is mysteriously sending messages to Scar? Following her? Obsessed with her...?
Well, you'll have to read to find out.
Oh yeah - and all I have to say is Chapter 17.....🥵 -
I need the next book now. I got so taken in by this! For fans of avademy/society reverse harem, you will not be disappointed.
Scarlett enters a new school for Blue Bloods knowing the Lawless are out to get her. The three of them run the academy and have a history with her involving secret relationships and resentments. She agrees to compete in a set of games to move up in rank in the school's unofficial/official hierarchy. But things become iffy when Scarlett becomes uncertain where the truth is and the games start.
There's a stalker, an old money social system, 3 guys all with different baggage who are fiercely loyal to each other... it was a fun one. Ends not quite with a cliffhanger but where you definitely don't have all the answers and need more book!
Crew and Scarlett's chemistry was so on. The back-and-forth and Crew's confusion felt very real. Jagger's feelings were a bit more out of nowhere but he seemed like a sweetie underneath it all and I'm curious about him. However Neo remains the mystery man. We get his motivations and demeanor but I need more Neo now!!!!!
Please note: Suspend disbelief when you read this. You'll definitely have to pretend they're older and buy in to the Blue Blood and Academy system. Just have fun with it and it won't disappoint. -
5 OMG, OMG STARS!! OMG....this one kept me on my toes....I need more. It was so good from beginning to the last word. Scarlett was perfect, she was a match for these guys. I can't wait for the next book.

ARC Book Review!
Rachel Leigh has blessed me with the ARC of this awesome bully romance story.
Scarlett, our feisty MC, let’s just say has a lot in her plate right now. After her multiple school suspensions, she ends up in an Academy far from friendly, welcoming or kind. She’s persistent, not afraid to defend herself, never backs out of a challenge and will always put up a fight even if she knows she can’t win. Three boys (Jagger, Crew and Neo aka The Lawless) that Scar has known all her life are watching her every step, eager to cause her trouble, torment and destroy her through their games. Interestingly enough, things may not always be as they seem and the secret society they are all a part of, commands and shapes everyone and everything around them. Every rule, every secret, every move has its own hidden important purpose.
Savage Games always has a mix of suspense, a small (or is it?) amount of danger, delicious spice along with some occasional thriller elements to surely keep you addicted and so entertained. The steam is hot and the story is slowly evolving into a RH which is teasingly promising and I can't act as if I'm not excited to read more of it.
Since it’s the first book of a series, we are indeed facing a cliffhanger and questions surrounding our head about things happening, some secrets we’d love to have revealed.
The writing has such an easy, irresistible flow that it is truly possible for someone with some free time to binge read the entire book in a day. Personally, I read it so fast and not once did I feel like putting it down. Honestly Savage Games was a great introduction to the series, that I'd definitely recommend to a bully romance lover and I'm positively looking forward to meeting the next book soon!
Thank you so much to the kind Rachel Leigh for sending me this ARC, it was my absolute pleasure reading your work! -
We all know I love a dark, bully romance and I absolutely devoured this!! If you want to read about men that you’ll watch to punch and kiss at the same time and about a strong woman who doesn’t put up with shite from the men then I defo recommend this!!
Oh boy am I in love with Crew and Jagger. They drive me insane with their mood swings but fuck me they’re so hot!! Their dirty talk is 👩🏻🍳💋 The spicy scenes were top tier, the hate sex literally made my jaw drop. IT WAS SO HOT!! 🔥
Neo needs to chill tf out and stop being a controlling hot head! I mean ffs he can’t keep blaming Scar for what happened, it’s not fair on her for him to keep taking his anger out on her. I hate that he controls and manipulates Crew and Jagger too.
Don’t even get me started on the crazy messed up games they create. The whole hierarchy thing is insane, like flipping heck these people are obsessed with power and control!
This stalker, psycho is beyond obsessed. What they found at the end brought me out in goosebumps. It’s creepy af.
I can’t wait to jump into my ARC of Vicious Lies!!! -
It's giving idiotic girl from a horror movie smh😑🙄 Also I *really* don't like Neo. Let's see if he redeems himself in the next 2 books😕

I really enjoyed Rachel Leigh's Redwood Rebels series, so when I saw she had a new series coming out I had to jump on it. This series was so much more than I expected. The characters are amazing and the drama/suspense/thriller parts are everything. I loved it. The cliffhanger is brutal so fair warning on that but the book is so worth the read.
Scarlett Sunder has been kicked out of her high school senior year and is having to attend Boulder Cove. The hierarchy here is something she will have to acclimate to and the fact that she is being put on a junior level her senior year makes it that much worse, but she is strong and feisty and won't just take it laying down. She has fight in her.
Crew, Jagger, and Neo are basically the top of the chain here. They are Lawless and they rule with an iron fist, what they say goes.
What happens when things start to go south and somebody starts to undermine the Lawless? Well, that's when things get interesting of course. The question is who is doing it and why are they interested in Scar so much?
I don't know who to root for or who is the clear winner in my eyes, but I really love Crew. I know there is more to Jagger than what meets the eye right now and I can't wait for things to unfold with him. Then there is Neo, I like him the least, but I have a feeling that will change, he is so cruel and mad at the world. I want to see the good but he makes it so hard. I want to see Scarlett find her happy no matter who it is with, but I just don't know how to feel about these boys.
Then we have Maddie, things are so questionable around her. I feel like she might not be what she seems and that leads me to believe there is quite a bit more going on than what has even happened thus far.
The questions are piling up and I have so many suspicions but I'm not sure any of them are right. There are too many questions left unanswered and now I'm thirsting for book 2! I can't wait to see where Rachel takes these characters and what comes next. Ah I loved this book so much I could go on for days but I can't wait for everyone to be able to get their hands on this book!! -

I did this to myself I know there was a cliffhanger but still I needed to read this. This is my 3rd Rachel Leigh book and my first RH book. Scarlet is pretty bad ass. I haven’t decided which of the guys I think she can trust. I’m so invested in this world and I can’t wait to find out what’s really going on!!!

But things happen here at BCA and now she has to seek help from Crew, Jagger, and Neo to keep herself safe and find out who’s coming for her.
This book ends in a cliffhanger, so YES, I need the next book ASAP!!!! There are so many unanswered questions still and there’s so much tension!!!
