He is regarded today as one of the most influential figures in the history of the world. But to those who knew him intimately, Martin Luther was more than just the leader of an important historical revolt; he was a man of vision, commitment, and passion, determined to serve his Lord and purify the degenerate world church. From the outset, Luther's enemies-the corrupt ecclesiastical and political rulers of his day-joined forces to stop the spread of his radical ideas, ideas that would shake the church and the world's greatest political powers to their core. But God mercifully allowed Luther to resist the armies of the world, armed only with the sword of His Word. Now you can witness Luther's stand against Charles V and his surprising romance with former nun Kate von Bora, view the societal changes that led to the Reformation, and see how God equipped one extraordinary man to stand strong-though it often meant standing conspicuously alone-in the midst of the raging Storm.

Storm: Radical. Reformer. Monk. Lover. The Surprising Story of Martin Luther. Reviews

  • Frau Ott

A fascinating novel about the beginning of the Protestant Reformation. This told the story of Luther and Germany from 1517 until 1526. The description of battles and towns are grounded in my knowledge of German history and I could imagine the countryside and towns as they were.

  • Walter Van Duyneveldt

Well written and historical correct, nice reflection on the revolt and start of a different view on God.

  • Lynn Cornwell

There are some amazing people in history and Martin Luther is one of them. (I'm not even Lutheran!) I am so amazed by people that can blaze their own trail. Luther had a vision and was willing to go through any struggles to see it through! This should be required reading in college religion classes just to have a good understanding of our religious history. Sad to think that so many religious leaders used their power for their own riches. This is one to read to broaden your horizons about life!

Storm is a great, if overly long, fictional biography of Martin Luther. For anyone who happens to be curious about one of the founders of the Protestant movement, this is worth reading, as long as you have plenty of time.

  • Robynne

Although a novel...brilliant and quite informative, especially on some of the early practises of the RCC, such a 'spiritual indulgences'......ie buying days off purgatory!!! Yikes.
