Mya McIntosh is attending the wedding of the year as the maid of honor to her best friend Amara Davis, the former employee and wife of billionaire social media mogul Grayson Davis. A dazzling destination wedding in Spain seems like the perfect setting for Mya to finally lose this pesky virginity of hers, but her prospects don't look promising. Amara has high hopes that Mya could land one of Grayson's billionaire best friends but Mya isn't so sure, especially when it comes to Grayson's obnoxious business partner Dale Abernathy. After a few awkward moments, bad first impressions, a ton of assumptions and a sexy interlude on top of a hill, Mya's search for Mr. Right Now lands her somewhere she least expected: in love.

I set out to make Mya a very rich character with a lot of depth and reserve, and the flaws that tend to accompany those traits. And I knew I wanted her to have a hero that would not be intimidated by her-- and in fact, it is the opposite. And I set out to make a love story between two people who weren't necessarily opposites, just two people who would never otherwise voluntarily share the same space in the world. Add to that, outside of Amara, there is absolutely nothing that connects Mya to the rest of this universe she finds herself in, and what you get is something pretty excruciating.

But when she does find her way and finds connection, it's as rewarding as it is unexpected. And I tried to make sure that Mya still came out ahead, considering the emotional pressure that the circumstances put her under.

After some thought over what to add and how, I did do some tweaking to the manuscript, but not much. We're talking less than 500 words. B/c while I do care about the reader experience, I still feel that the reader is best served when they do their own emotional work in finding the value in these characters. But I will always do the best that I can to facilitate that.

I really enjoyed the first book in this series. The author takes the time for the reader to fall in love with Amaya and Grayson. But this book.... I've never disliked the heroine as much as the character Mya. She was horrible and the author didn't even take the time for you to understand her bitterness. Mya was all the stereotypes of angry black woman often portrayed on tv. Most of the story revolved around Mya being angry at her best friend Amaya for getting married and having a baby. She's mad at her other best friend for taking attention she should be receiving. What made this story so sad was that Amaya went out of her way to make her friends feel comfortable. While this story is supposed to be about Mya falling in love with Grayson's best friend Dale. I honestly thought Dale was too nice for such a bitter woman. The author wraps up everything in a bow but doesn't end the book with addressing how foul Mya was to her friends. I'm hoping Kim's story is a lot better than the second book in the series.

    Mya,s Pride!
Actually, christine donley continued the Amara,s calling story which started as a exellent interracial romance and continues in Mya,s Pride only here with different couple in the headrole!
I was surprised that christine was able to keep the same outstanding level as in the first one!BRAVO!!
As in my expereince, in series the first is mostly the best, but not in here!
in both books the author keep the interracial aspect through out book as a theme and in a way as it should be!with all the intriques ,emotions tensions! and differences .but foremost the perfect love at the couples!
As said! again a best one! although its readable as a standalone , the best will be to read first amara,s calling! the first book!
I heard the author is busy with the 3th one! So YES! i am waiting for that one!
Again for this one a 5star plus ,plus!

Donley needed to pull back from the whole Maya- Ice Queen thing a few notches. It became annoying, and I didn't like her as a character. It also takes away from the believability of the romance, who's going to fall in love with a horrible woman like that? On the other hand, some of those quips were classic!

Hey, I have an imagination, so I just went along with it otherwise.

Donley shines best in her prose and dialogues. She uses modern dialogue which is both comedic and dramatic in a way like no one else out there. Great job.

A lovely story that captures you, and you can't help wishing for a HEA

Maya is hard work, she comes across as bad minded as her best friend has met and fell in love with a billionaire.
That's the first impression you get of Maya, but deep down she's very vulnerable, caring and scared. I didn't really get to like her until towards the end of the book.
Dale was a bit sappy but likable and you can't help hoping and wishing they get it together. A lovely entertaining romance.

    *Spoiler Alert*
My favorite of the three installments. Mya made me feel conflicted about her, on one hand, she is so rigid and stuck in her ways yet such a passionate human being and a great ballet dancer that you just can't help but be taken in by her passion for her craft. I like that Dale was able to break down her walls and get her to fall in love with him at last. He is such an amazing partner also and they make a great couple. Great read!

    Dancing for love

This was awesome, loving this series! The writing is fluid and the stories strong. Character and story development isn’t long and drawn out. The characters are sexy, funny, sensitive, engaging and loving.
Dale and Maya are a beautiful couple. Complex, infuriating and passionate!

    Continuation...

from book 1, which I really liked. The characters from book one Grayson and "Amy's" story was nicely interwoven in this book. I liked Mya and Dale's story too. Mya was a bit much, but she got the hang of it. I'll read Kim's story soon, I need a small break.

    Mya and Dale

Mya has been so upset for a year at her friend Amy and now husband Graysone. She couldn't understand why. Then she wanted to loose her V-card. Only she didn't know who to think about. Well Amy started pushing her towards Dale. Grayson messed things up but cleaned it up. Dale was the one and turned her inside out. What a whirlwind of excitement.

This was a good read that kept my attention. Still some things didn't connect for me emotionally with the characters. I'm not sure if I'll finish this series. Bel and homegirl (honestly, blanking on her name right now) have not drawn me in. I did, however, like this story much better than the first one.

    Questions???

This story held a lot of questions for me. But in the end it was a pretty good story. I will say that the way it was written it came off like she was a good digger. There's no other way to put it. Her actions spoke volumes.

This is a wonderfully written story that continues with the wedding of Gray and Amara from Amara’s Calling. Mya is Amara’s best friend and bridesmaid in her destination wedding in Spain. Dale is Gray’s best friend and best man. Their story is amazing and kept me excited from the beginning. I highly recommend it for everyone who loves romance stories.
