With the secrets revealed, lines are drawn deep into the Earth, tearing it apart in the Great Mother's absence. A bloodsoaked rain falls as the dead walk the streets with unimaginable monsters in their midst. Reality itself is split by the choices made, and the consequences may strip away what sanity remains.
The Apocalypse has come and Ambrosia stands face to face with a Celestial… a familiar darkness drawn from the shadows, so formidable now that the Numani—those guardians of the light meant to be our protectors—are frightened. We all should be.
Still, through the peril a hero emerges. Will it be enough to overcome the odds, or is the future already set in stone?

Wow, this book is really quite interesting. I read sci-fi / fantasy genres the least but this one was quite the creative blend. It reads like a futuristic sci-fi mixed with proper old world English. This book has a little of everything. I should say, this is the 5th book in the series. I did not read the previous 4, but the author gave me a really detailed synopsis that allowed me to pick up the storyline rather easily.
I found this book to be an intelectual and literary read, packed full of detailed descriptors. There is drama, romance, passion, action packed fights, suspense and a slow unwinding of a story that left me turning page after page. I will also say there is some other worldly horror in this, not excruciatingly so to me, but it is throughout.
The storyline was good, we follow Castor on his journey after the apocalypse. A prophecy is looming…can Castor be the hero? Will he do what’s right and be the savior of all? I don’t give spoiler reviews, but if you are a serious sci-fi/ fantasy reader, and like celestial beings, some death and destruction sprinkled with a touch of softness and romance…this book will getcha. -

I really liked this book overall. I love the sci-fi aspects of this book and how we get to hear about the celestials and also the Apocalypse coming also.
I found this a thought provoking read and I loved Star's song in the book. It was memorable and I could certainly picture her on stage singing about Mona. I am also not going to give anything away spoiler wise, but this book is a fantastic page turning read which has lots of action, drama, and some thrilling moments for the readers.
I am excited to see where Nescamali is headed next with Al Sheratan appearing and cannot wait to see what happens in the story next! -
*I was sent this book for free by the author to review and give my honest feedback. I was not paid, every opinion stated is my own*
I can't say that this book was good or bad. For me, I was never able to be pulled into the story. The way it is written and how the story progresses is confusing and feels drawn out too long. The story itself seems interesting, and I may try to come back in the future and reread it, however, this book was just not for me. I wouldn't recommend this book to teens or those who are new to reading longer books.
