The webtoon finished today in LINE Webtoon today. I think I will never be able to get over this. Cheese in the Trap will forever have a place in my heart. It was such a beautiful, deep, intricate and dark story. The characters are OUTSTANDING! And this story and the characters both are so relatable.

This story is about a girl named Seol Hong. And a guy named Jung Yoo. Both read in the same university. Our girl is sensitive and observant. So she notices somethings in Jung which no one else does. A side of him that no one notices.

Honestly I am crappy at writing synopsis, so ignore that and check out the story yourself here
    https://www.webtoons.com/en/drama/che... .

This comic is one of the best comics in the world. It will make you understand people in a whole new level. And will teach you so many things about life. And not to mention this is story is so realistic. And wholesome(sometimes). If you love psychological dark realistic romance and drama this webtoon is for you.

And last but not the least, a big T H A N K Y O U to the author Soonki. Thank you for making this amazing series. Thank you for making these amazingly deep and intricate characters. Cheese in the Trap is truly a piece of Art.

    (Review for whole series)

This has been one of the more complex and realistic WEBTOONS that I’ve read. Each of the characters have their layers of strengths and weaknesses. Many changed but some chose not to.

The story is multilayered and is quite long. This went on for four seasons, ending at episode 301. It’s a massive feat, to both read it and to create it. The episodes are all quite long, especially in comparison to other newer WEBTOONS.

I stopped reading this two years ago simply because I didn’t like what the male lead, Jung, was doing. He’s a manipulative character who knows what he’s doing. But, in the end, I actually liked him. He was one of the obstacles both Seoul and I had to deal with.

I would say this is mainly a slice of life. It is a bout Seoul, a university student in South Korea. She was one of the characters that I consistently liked throughout the entire series. She was sweet and kind but sometimes she was a pushover. Seoul really went through some rough times but I think she turned out to be a pretty epic character.

One of the coolest part of this series’s title was that in the comments everyone was theorizing what it meant. But the author never really explained it. So it could mean anything and they all potentially could be correct.

Such a complex and detailed WEBTOONS! TW: violence, drinking, swearing (mostly censored), manipulation, PSTD, and bullies.

Wow, at first I am not interested in this webtoon. Then as I read episode after episode, I’m starting to adore Seol, I can relate to her everyday struggles. And because of her she inspired me to study hard. It’s not just your typical love story, it is so much more than that. I love this webtoon so much I will read it again and again and again and again!

This was an enjoyable read about navigating relationships in your early twenties. Lovely art, nice themes.

Just...my heart is full. There are some stories that just get under your skin. The words feel like an epiphany, borrowing deep inside; it makes you see the world and the people in a whole new light. You live an entire lifetime in these stories, walking in the character's shoes and growing old alongside them. I don’t know how to describe the experience of reading CiTT except that it feels like I had the strangest dream about the strangest of people and now that I’m awake, there's a hole in my heart and I miss them all terribly. It's a very bittersweet, nostalgic feeling for that campus and its students. It took 6 years for this story to end, a time where it wholly consumed my life amidst the drama of my own college life, and now that it’s finally over I feel like I’ve graduated from that part of my life. So thank you for this beautiful story. Go read it. You won’t regret it.

Love this webcomic. The characters really go through a lot of changes in a believable way. The ending is perfect.

This comic stayed pretty consistent throughout its run and had its good moments — I just never feel like I truly connected to it.

  • Hemangini

The pull for both main lead's characters is just amazing. You get all that you might want in a good romance drama. So many human emotions and how things turn out to be because of little misunderstandings.... It seems like some romances break and people will never meet again but we all hope they do.

  • Aym

I could write a paragraph but in short, best media I've ever consumed in my life. The way soonkki writes her characters and the world building around them is beyond outstanding. This comic will always have a big place in my heart. I wish I could erase my memory and read it again. - 5 year long fan who has reread this 5 times.

  • Erika

WOW. What an amazing manga. Not just a simple Cinderella story (from Seol's point of view at least) but a story about human being and how people change, how people meet and then never to meet again....
    I JUST LOVED IT

Thank god for the "free till end of October" fair at the line manga...

I admit, I loved this story and the concept for the first two seasons. I enjoyed watching Seol deal with all the issues and problems that came up because of Jung, and she dealt with the problems well. But then they started going out. And the translation started getting bad. I feel like some things in Season 3 and Season 4 may have been lost because of bad translating.
I'm still not a fan of Jung and Seol. I think he is manipulative and the way Jung acts around Seol is very controlling. Maybe in the end, it did get better, but that was only one chapter of the entire story, so things could go back to the way they were, I'll never know. I also felt it was too long. A whole season too long! (As in there was no need for the 4 books.) I know I'm in the minority here. I loved the art, and I loved the expressions that Soon Kki put on their faces, especially Seol. I really liked how Inho and Inha grew, and how they were both terrible people in the beginning, and by the end, Inho was a wonderful guy and Inha was still a terrible human being, but at least you could see how much she had suffered. This story started off so brilliantly, only to really end just like another romance manwha in some ways. In the end, I do believe that Jung has grown, but I also feel that a lot of things were unresolved, or if they were sort of resolved, it was a poor resolution. I wouldn't mind reading more about Jung though. While I don't actually like him, I think he's an interesting character, and it would be interesting to see how he gets through life, since he is manipulative and honestly a terrible person.

my 4th time reading this manhwa. and yes I cried every time reading the final chapter. I just love this manhwa with all of my heart. I don't have any comfort book but I do have comfort manhwa and cheese in the trap is the one.

gosh where do i start with this. we all know the way they kinda rushing the ending but thats the point! i do feels disappointed at first reading the final chapter. but the second time reading it, I just get it. thats how it supposed to be.

the characters development are top tier even the side character! it seems they're real and not just character. take doyoung for example. every character feels alive, good writing indeed! and you can actually relate with them or you know those characters irl. thats why I love it.

of course with manhwa we love to see the artist's development. tbh it doesn't look really eye catching at first but it just keep getting better. the style, tone, everything is just unique. its kinda rare to see manhwa with this kind of style!

I know I already read this for 4th time. but gosh, I want to erase my memory after reading it. and go read this over and over again.

What a fitting end to a beautifully crafted story. I feel emotional completing this. I’m usually the one who binges (and this was I did with this one too) but I think I would have loved to be a part of these characters and their arcs as the manhwa was being written. This is truly a coming of age story. I haven’t read many webtoons, but I can tell that this one is special. I doubt there are many stories out their whose plot is as complex and real as their characters. I read this after the adaptation, and was aware that many webtoon lovers had issues with it, and I can see why. What the adaptation lacked was the depth which the webtoon wholly gives. And the ending! It’s saying goodbye with a hug telling you to go venture out in the big bad world and live your life to the fullest. Throughout the story, the webtoon introduces you to all kinds of people and situations you may encounter in your life, and in the end leaves you with a little experience through seol and hope that everything will be okay. Overall, an enthralling journey with the right amount of seriousness and humour.

LET IT BE KNOWN that I am a trash when the man pines, or in a non-hetero relationship, the masculine type pines. I love it when they pine. YES OPEN UP YOU BIG SOFTIE. It's so typical but WHO CARES. PINE, BITCH, PINE.

Never thought I'd be emotionally committed to a webtoon like this but here we are. 300 chapters of commitment after I decided to read it spontaneously and it was so worth it. Now I'm going to chew on the fact that the ending of the drama completely threw me off.

It's so good, that's all I can say. None of the main characters were one dimensional, and you can see the character development through the progress of the webtoon. Cute moments that made me physically squeal out loud but also very real and relatable situations, not completely dramatic like other K-dramas (sure, there were dramatic elements too but they're realistic). NO MORE HIGH SCHOOL DRAMA, WE MOVE ON TO UNIVERSITY DRAMA NOW.

Lastly, I'm just going to say I love Hong Seol. Thank you, that is all.

So finally!! Almost two years later I’ve finally finished this webtoon! Whoa, it was such a trip I don’t really know what to feel right now.

    —SPOILERS AHEAD—

Regarding Seol and Jung I'm happy they didn't break up but the ending was kind of anti-climatic, it just didn’t leave me with a satisfied feeling. I wanted to see more of all the characters I’ve come to love so much (but, lucky me, the epilogue was super sweet and helped to resolve some things).

But oh well, the good thing is all of them had a happy ending (even though I’m sad the friendship between Seol and Inho didn’t continue :((( *sighs*)

    Now to watch the movie~

  • AKA

    3.5 stars...

I really wanted to like this more but so much of it felt like filler.

We finally got all the info on what went wrong with Jung and the Baek siblings. Jung was down right diabolical. Seol kind of became a badass. Euntaek and Bora! Plus, we got to meet some people I didn't think would ever be on page. I really liked the ending.

Unfortunately, it wasn't all great. Inho was basically on a goodbye tour. It made no sense for him to meet up with EVERYONE multiple times. Joon's antics were unnecessary. We spent way too much time with Inha. And if I never see the words "fact sheet" again it will be too soon.

Overall, I would read this again but I would skip a lot of this season.

  • Roma

One of the best indeed. This manhwa was so relatable and so well-written that reading the last chapter feels like saying good bye to a friend. I feel like this has grown with me since high school, the time that I started reading season 1. It has been 9 years since then that's probably the reason why it is so hard to let go. I'll be sure to reread this from the very begining in the future when another opportunity ("break") comes. Till then, adios and thank you, author.

  • Hayley

I loved every minute while reading the webtoon and really hope someone will publish this so I can re-read it. I have become such a fan of Seol and she has gone through so much growth through the 4 seasons. Jung is still pretty creepy but that's what makes him so interesting. I wouldn't want my partner to be so manipulating but he does have some qualities. I was okay with the ending but wasn't a fan of the epilogue. It's like they are fated to be together and that just seems a bit unrealistic.

  • phy

AAAAAAAAA IT'S ACTUALLY OVER NOW. this was an intricate psychological roller-coaster. And the comment section was so invested, it made every ep ten times better for me.
the writing illustrates relationships realistically so they all messily develop over time. Brilliant, amazing, will probably never read another one like this again. Can we also appreciate the fact that it's a uni setting, and we have actual students stressed out of their minds over exams and group work? lmao I felt seen

Had decided to finish this webtoon and I've found I still hate it as much as I did the first time I read it. But at least this time I have an opinion based on the whole series and not just season 1-3. It's a struggle to not rate it a one, and that's partly only done out of respect for how long this went on for... Genuinely this series makes me mad for reasons I don't know, but also for some very obvious reasons.

  • kitty ♡

ahh i can’t believe it’s over!!! it feels like i’ve spent a lifetime with these characters and i loved it so much, i definitely want to reread it now that i’ve seen how everything unfolds. the story definitely got better over time and it was so worth it to continue on with it !! i teared up at the end because i’m so sad it’s over ;-; i love this series and the characters sm

    Season 4: (Chapters 225~300)

Finally went back and finished this series and I'm glad I did even if towards the end the school story line was a major skip for me and obviously a large part of the series.

the end of suspense and stress mixed with excitement ...
two years since i started reading this webtoon , it feels sad coming to its end even though it was a happy one.
it is fair enough to say this is the best webtoon you can ever read
