Against the Wind: A Novelette of Mary I and Elizabeth I Reviews

The book isn’t very polished, but the plot is great and it’s always impressive when a relatively inexperienced author takes the leap to publishing. I especially appreciate the story as a bit of wish fulfillment, where women are able to form bonds, gain power, and find happiness despite the infamous turmoil of the Tudor era.

    Don't Miss This One!

If you are a Tudor fan, you won't want to miss this one. Who hasn't played the "what if" game? This alternate historical view of Mary and Elizabeth is glorious. All of the major players are here but with one degree of separation. Just imagine Katherine Howard as the Dowager Queen at age 17! Every important historical Tudor character plays their part...with a delicious twist. Kudos to the author who obviously knows her English history but has the imagination to play "What If, the Tudor Edition" to perfection. I loved this one.
