Isabella Shay is usually a very honest person.
But when she’s running late for her first day at a dream job and the barista yells for “Amy” 3x with no answer, she does the unthinkable.
Izzy takes that PSL.
It’s the exact drink she ordered and paid for, only waaaay further ahead in the line, so she mutters “I’m Amy” and grabs the cup.
But when she turns around and runs directly into the most attractive man she’s ever seen, spilling the drink all over his GQ shirt and tie, she ends up having the ultimate meet-cute. Sparks fly and things feel beyond promising until he says the words, “See you tomorrow, Amy.”
Uh, oh – she’ll definitely have to straighten him out the following day.
Only when she gets to her new office and meets the VP of her department, it is none other than Blake Phillips - the hottie from Starbucks. And the man might’ve been charming to “Amy,” but he is an arrogant grump to Izzy, an arrogant grump who dos not find her explanation funny at all.
MEET CUTE + GRUMPY/SUNSHINE + FRIENDS-TO-LOVERS = ACCIDENTALLY AMY

Cute but cringey but cute but cringey but cute but cringey

"I dare you not to fall in love with Lynn's writing!" - Ali Hazelwood
Easy.
Just because I want to be funny, in the writing:
"Gawwwd" was used twice.
"Gawwwwd" was used thrice.
"Gawwwwwd" was used four times.
"Gawwwwwwd" was used once.
"Gawwwwwwwd" was used twice.
"Gawwwwwwwwd" was used once.
Each time my sanity thinned. -
Came here for the cover, but the story wasn't as good..
Don't get me wrong, it was an easy read, cute, and I liked Izxy and Blake together, but they were both so immature, especially Izzy, and she was just pure chaos!
I liked it better than Mr Wrong number, but this author definitely likes her ditzy, clutzy, no filter heroines!
Also why so much pizza?! Just got weird after a while 😂🍕 -

“This is – by far - the most shocking thing I’ve ever heard. Do you believe in fate, Mr. Chest?”
“I didn’t until I met you, Starbucks Amy.”
I am telling you, this book has given me a serious book hangover! It surprised me with it's witty dialogues, oh so hilarious banter and such an intense kind of chemistry between Izzy & Blake that made me melt into a puddle. It had me laughing, swooning and rooting for Blake & Izzy throughout the entire span. No other book has made me laugh as much as this book did in this year. It was so memorable, well written and beyond any doubt romantic! These characters were just so unintentionally funny, sweet, quirky and charming. Blake was just so hot and the smooth moves he made had my stomach flutter with butterflies. And Izzy was just so fucking adorable. When Blake told her to never change herself, I was like "I totally get you dude". 😂😂😂 Overall, this made me feel all the FEELS lol! These characters had so much soul and personality to the point that they felt real to me tbh. I literally felt Blake & Izzy's connection because it was just so palpable. THEY ARE EVERYTHING!!! I'm so obsessed with
Lynn Painter's books so this is obviously a five star read for me and I'm just so in love with this story! -
Started out as a promising 3-4 star read but quickly went downhill after the first half. I loved Lynn's other book and was kind of hoping that this one would also be a cute romcom but idk there was no plot, no character personality and no conflict/struggle. Hell it wasn't even cringe. Or cheesy. Or any other emotion one can associate with a romcom. By the end I felt nothing. Nada. Zilch. Not even disappointment. Wow. This was so badly written. I can't believe it.
Would definitely advise against reading it. The only saving grace of the book is it's cover. -
THIS COVER ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME ?.?:?:?:?:?
LYNN PAINTER TAKE ALL MY MONEY -
Rom-com perfection 🤌🤌🤌
The banter, the chemistry, the story!
I found a new favourite of mine👏
PS.
This cover is so so pretty!!! -
Was this book good? Not really. But did I smile and giggle the whole time? Yes.. yes I did 🙈🙈🙈

3,5/5
Dodatkowo tłumaczenie czasem wywoływało we mnie zgrzyty.
Fajna rozrywka, ale nie zostanie ze mną na długo. -

Lynn I love you but no 😭 absolutely not, the first mistake was naming a cat “the darkling” then proceeding to write “The Darkling is sitting on your lap. Why does that conjure the unfortunate image of Ben Barnes reclining on my thighs?” , this was so bad it’s comical, please just stick to writing cute little YA rom-coms bc those are superior 😭 -
DNF @ Chapter 2
Came for the cover. Left because of the "Ohmigawwwwwd", the "Ohmigod" in 2 consecutive pages, and the random references to fatal attraction and silence of the lambs.
their 2nd meeting:
"Izzy made a noise in her throat and felt like she needed garlic or some type of dagger she could plunge into Mr. Chest’s chest as protection, because statements like that were a straight-up assault on her ovaries.
Just take my heart now, you gorgeous wank."
I'm sick and tired of the insta-lust. Call me when she makes a new Wes Bennet
(Speaking of - Elizabeth Bennet's husband was also mentioned here "It reminded her of the way Darcy said Mr. Wickham? and stepped closer to Elizabeth during his rain proposal")
it’s not in first person btw which I don’t usually mind but I hated it here

Betting on You.
Current Lynn Painter book rankings:
1. the do-over
1. better than the movies
5. betting on you

5. Mr. Wrong number -
a genuine waste of time and the main character is fucking intolerably quirky and keeps saying “PSL” for pumpkin spice latte and it made me want to KMS if we are doing acronyms
-
no thoughts just lynn painter 🤩
-
could've been three stars bc it was kinda cute but i literally cannot encourage reylos to keep publishing actual books. “number three,” she said, using the same tone a teacher would use if a student were interrupting, “I’m a little obsessed with reylo fanfic” my brother in christ this is a disease that is infecting literature and i WILL act as a gatekeeper if i have to in order to keep that shit out <3333 at my heart i am a hater

2.5⭐
I had high hopes but this one did not live up to my expectations at all.
I just could not wrap my head around the fact the girl started texting her boss random shit only after meeting him for the first time. I mean she is either nuts or was high as fuck -
Wow! This was highly addictive!
Beginning as a meet-cute involving an incorrect name on a Pumpkin Spice Latte, an instant connection develops between Izzy and Blake, aka Starbucks Amy and Mr. Chest. But when discovering Blake is the AVP for the company Izzy was recently hired with, they get extra creative to continue their friendship.
This book is A+ banter from beginning to end. Izzy had an intense chaotic energy that paired so well with businessman Blake. From the hilarious text message threads to the playful name calling, I could not stop giggling.
The timeline for this story is really fast, but I wholeheartedly felt their chemistry. It was so easy to find enjoyment with these characters simply spending time together. It was a perfect low angst, lighthearted autumn read to escape into!

This book and I just did not vibe and that pains me being the huge Lynn Painter fan I am.

Warning! Sappy RomCom coming your way! This book is too adorable and is the fun/fluffy read you need this summer. Starting a new job, Isabella Shay thought she would stop at a coffee shop for a pick-me-up PSL. She didn’t realize that the line after she paid was insane and would make her super late for her first day. Grabbing an unclaimed PSL, Isabella runs into a handsome man. Running off without giving her name to him, he assumes her name is Amy based on the cup she was holding. This is such a cute, cheesy, romantic comedy novel. Super-fast read and I really enjoyed it! -Alyssa C.

3.5 stars
Accidentally Amy was a really cute friends to lovers/workplace romance. Izzy and Blake have a fun meet-cute and I enjoyed their romance. The conflict at the end was a little meh, but overall I liked this one.

Accidentally Amy receives many buzz. Sadly the book does not match the expectation. Miss Painter done a wonderful job with the banter. It is fun especially Izzi. Sadly the tone and the joke does not hit home with me.
I am struggle a bit to finish the book. I got little lost in the middle.
Overall, I only feel lukewarm toward the story.
3 stars -
This book is far from perfect, but I was ok with it because it was entertaining. I did feel less 'ok' with it every time I had to read "ohmigod" and "gawwd" (yes, spelled like that). Other than that, it's a pretty easy read and a good palate cleanser for my romance comrades. Don't expect anything other than that because this book has a lot of flaws that won't be easy to overlook if you bring high hopes for this journey.

3.5 ⭐️ rounded up
2 🌶️ (most are fade to black, not many details)
I think this book was cute, Iz and Blake are adorable and I love them. But, it did have its cringey moments. There were a lot of trendy bookish/ movie quotes and phrases, too many for one book in my opinion. I think the fmc Izzy was meant to be quirky, I guess, but sometimes quirky borders on cringey for me and that’s what I thought about it in this book.
Some quotes that were good/ I liked:
- “it reminded her of the way Darcy said Mr. Wickham? And stepped closer to Elizabeth during his rain proposal in the hand-flex version of P&P, and Izzy thought she might faint dead away for the first time in her life.”
- “The Darkling is sitting on your lap.” “Why does that conjure the unfortunate image of Ben Barnes reclining on my thighs.” THIS WAS FUNNY
- “the sight of her face made him feel something in his stomach. Holy Shit, we’re those fucking butterflies? They were- they were fucking butterflies.” MEN THAT GET BUTTERFLIES>>>>>
but the cringe one was:
- “will you please say the words Are you lost, baby girl.” LOL PLEASE NO
and although I thought this book was enjoyable and can be easily read in one sitting, it was a little too insta-love for my liking.
the writing was easy to follow, but I feel like there were a lot of parts that could’ve been edited/ fixed. I think the errors might just be because it was the kindle edition and the print edition might be better (format wise).
Full rtc! -
3.75⭐️ This book was so darn cute. I loved the banter between Izzy and Blake and the grumpy/sunshine + friends to lovers was perfection. I just feel like nothing really happened in the plot so it’s not my fav Lynn Painter book but it was still adorable. Also i’ll forever be obsessed with the cover!!

3,75/5⭐️
3/5🌶️ -
"He usually didn't give a shit about preschool antics, but with Izzy, he could listen all day. You told me bout your past, thinking your future was me—the lyric came at him out of nowhere."
°•*⁀➷
The ending really brought this book together for me. I definitely enjoyed the story overall, and I had a moment at the end where I felt this could slip into four stars, but alas I stick to three.
It felt very young, but as the quote above implies, it is meant to. Izzy is young at heart, not really wanting to grow up, and I'm glad that she finds a reason to start in Blake.
I'm not the biggest fan of workplace romance only because the romance is usually outweighed by a heavy insecurity over if you are enough for someone despite your career. I don't think anyone should be made to feel like they are not enough because of something else. That doesn't mean it isn't a good read, or a good story.
