I received this book as an ARC copy from the author. So excited to receive because I - as well as others who read the first two books in the series - needed to know what Becca was up to! 🤔 The usual cast of characters appear and made the story as amusing as ever! Other than nursing a broken heart (that scoundrel, Harry!), Becca is happily working at the tiny Key West art museum and indulging in her own painting. Through her friend, Amelia, Becca learns of a Key West founding family’s art collection and is taken aback by the paintings and other pieces. Of course there MUST be an art show and that’s when the mystery begins! Danger is afoot, accusations fly and as usual - Becca is in the thick of it! Wonderful, wholesome funny people who stand up for one another, a pretty locale and an interesting plot will have you reading this book quickly! I loved Kate Breitfeller's first two books and Book #3 of the Caribbean Series didn't disappoint! Becca is back at it trying to start over after a bad breakup but yet again finds herself in dangerous situations.
As with the other books in the series I really enjoyed the balance of mystery and romance. Such a fun read and a great escape, the descriptive storytelling made me daydream about going to Key West. I was lucky enough to get an ARC but opinions are my own. -
This is the third and final book in The Caribbean Series. Becca is still in Key West, with her lovely friends Amelia, Dana and Rey. She's trying to get over the heartbreak of Harry leaving her while working at Dana's gallery. Amelia introduces her to an old friend who has priceless art and a possibly historical cross. Becca convinces the nice lady to let her borrow the art for a fundraiser. And then, because Becca is the most unlucky person ever, the cross gets stolen, Becca's life is in danger and everything goes sideways.
This was a really fun series. Mystery with a hint of romance thrown in, all with the backdrop of Key West, which is practically it's own character. These are fast paced and quick reads that would be perfect to read on a beach with a frozen cocktail in your hand! -
