When it comes to women, life has taught me I don’t always get want I want. But I want my good girl roommate, and I'm going to fight like hell to get her.

♥ ♥ ♥

I thought I asked her out on a date. She thought it was a friendly invite to lunch. Why the misunderstanding? She assumed—wrongly, I might add—that I was in a relationship.

With. My. Brother.

Now she’s my roommate, and she has all of these rules designed to keep things strictly platonic between us.

As far as I’m concerned, rules are meant to be broken.

And little by little I’m going to break every last one of hers.

♥ ♥ ♥

What started out as a fun game to rile her up has turned into something dangerously close to a relationship. She’s been burned one too many times, and I learned the hard way that women never stay. I may have set out to break all of her rules, but in the end, she might break me instead.

Aside From Me is a dual POV steamy full-length STANDALONE romance filled with lots of sexy times in the bedroom, profanity, and love with a HEA ending!

♥ ♥ ♥

Author Notes: This charming, fun-loving man wants nothing more than to get a little bit dirty with his new roommate, an inexperienced woman who’s clueless about just how hot she really is. This one has all the feels and enough steam to fog up your windows. Fans of Claire Kingsley, Melanie Harlow, and Amy Daws will love this new series by Aria Bliss. Get ready to stay up all night laughing, crying, and swooning because this series has it all.

The books in A Drunk Love Romantic Comedy series are all standalone novels and can be read in any order. But if you love family drama and the subtle build of future romances, I suggest you read them in order, starting with Not For Me.

I just finished this book and this is an absolute gem of a romance story. I am so deeply invested in these characters I need more. This was a knocked-it-out-of-the-park ARC from Book Sirens. Thank you and congratulations on publication day to Aria Bliss!

This is the story of a late bloomer in New York who found herself with all the wrong men. Her favorite gay friends insist she join them at their favorite gay bar to drown her relationship sorrows with friendship and liquid courage. She meets another group of friends and hit it off instantly. With her friend pool now doubled she buckles down to focus on finding a place to live that is NOT her ex boyfriends place. When one of the new friends offers a room in his place she snags it up. After moving in she finds out he's not gay like she thought he was at the gay bar. He's very straight and very into her. The trouble with this is she just got out of a horrible relationship and now she's living with a very attractive, very straight male with a reputation as a player. Naturally, chaos ensues in the best possible way.

This is a series but I read it as a stand alone. I need to find out if the characters overlap because if they do, I am totally reading them too. Persephone (Penny) has 4 boisterous and protective younger brothers that are a whole mood themselves. There's also a few other characters I'd follow along their journey. Great read. Not terribly angsty. Quite spicy. Easy quick read.

Thank you again Aria Bliss and Book Sirens for this ARC. This book is now available and I definitely suggest you go snag it now! This is my honest review of Aside From Me. Book #4 in the Drunk Love Romantic Comedy Series.

Good grief, I don’t know the last time I disliked a heroine so much…or an author’s choices.

The only redeeming thing in this book is Trent…and he’s not exactly in my top book boyfriends category.

    Here are my biggest issues:
    1) Every single secondary character is one-dimensional, especially their families. None of them add anything to the story and they all feel like caricatures. Her brothers apparently only travel as a pack. Its fucking odd.
    2) Persephone and her innocence. For fucks sake this was enough to quit the book. She’s 26. Has been with several men. AND HAS NEVER HAD AN ORGASM. OR MASTURBATED. Or had oral sex. She is constantly hiding her face in shame and embarrassment when they are having sex, is mortified when he takes her to a sex store, and asks if a vibrator is going to hurt her. A fucking small, handheld vibrator. Is she an idiot? I have to assume she just lays in bed like a corpse while the men get off because every single thing was new to her. But don’t fret! Her first time with Trent she had 3 orgasms. Until that point she tells him the physical feelings and urges she has around him are alarming and asks if its normal. Kill me now!!
    3) Persephone is half Greek. Its a big focus because of her name, brothers, food. But the author needed to do some damn research!!! Sorry to nitpick, but first if all her last name isn’t Greek…not in the least. Greek last names don’t end in “i”, it would be “is”. Second, she said her parents were obsessed with Greek god names. Well, her cat isn’t named after a god, he’s named after a mountain (Olympus). Did the author know this? Also, in the Greek tradition, kids are usually named after grandparents…not typically after ancient Gods because they sound cool. Tradition is big here. And all of their middle names mean love in different languages - interesting and weird, but I could go with it until she said her one brother’s middle name was Agapi…Greek word for love. I hate to break it to this author, but that’s an actual FEMALE name in Greek. No Greek parent, ever, would give this name to their son. Ever. Its like giving the most feminine name you can think of to your son. It made me so angry because this Greek background was a weird, not-well-thought out plot piece for what? To make her interesting?
    4) How is Persephone so innocent and scandalized, yet she regularly talks to her brothers about walking in on them jerking off growing up. Or hearing her parents have sex? Or when she thinks about Trent she talks about his “cock”. A woman this innocent says and thinks these things? Give me a fucking break. Totally contradictory.

The more I write the more I think of new problems and realize I hated this. Would not recommend.

  • Suze Prescot

Persephone is not devastated when her boyfriend cheats on her with her best friend, but it does leave her homeless. She accepts a room in Trent's apartment, convinced she'll be perfectly safe since Trent is gay. When she sees his 'boyfriend' cheating on him, she has to let him know, which is when she finds out the affectionate man she thought he was dating is his brother, and that her attraction to him is reciprocated.
I love Aria Bliss' stories, and this is no exception. Here we have a gorgeous man who thinks he is no good to any woman, and a woman who has never been treated right. The development of their story is just perfect. I adored it.

This book is part of the A Drunk Love Romantic Comedy series but can be read as a standalone. What a great book. Once I started reading I couldn't put it down. It's told from a dual POV which is nice because I was able to know what each of them were thinking. A roommate to lovers troupe with lots of fun banter and no shortage of drama. It won't take you long to fall in love with Penny and Trent. I read an advance reader copy via Booksprout and voluntarily chose to review it.

  • Amanda Cagle

I'm about 30% in and I cannot stand Persephone. Like how dare she assume (incorrectly) about Trent's sexual orientation and then when she realizes she's made a mistake gets mad & makes a huge list of rules that he has to abide by. Ma'am, who do you think you are??? And she just happened to forget to mention she had a cat, I feel like that is a big thing when moving into someone else's space. Or maybe it's just common decency and not everyone has that. Fingers crossed she gets better because I'm not sure I could like her less.

I made it about 60% before I started skimming. I read a few pages of the last couple chapters and maybe one day I’ll read them but I just got bored. It’s a predictable story (like most romances) but it just wasn’t doing it for me. I did really like Trent though so that’s why I gave this 3 stars.

Thank you BookSirens for an eARC of this book. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I finished reading Penny and Trent's story and I've got to say I'm not much of a fan. And I enjoyed the previous books. It's because of the characters, so not a fan of these two. They're unbelievable MCs. Like how Trent changed instantly and still flirted with other girls. And Penny is so immature IMO. This is not my favourite book.

  • Jennifer Louise

I was given a free copy of this novel, and am leaving a review voluntarily. In this fourth instalment of the Drunk Love series we get the story of Trent. This one surprised me as he is more a peripheral character and not part of the main family. That being said, reading his character development was so enjoyable! If you like alpha males who struggle with their identity in a relationship you will love this book. Trent is perpetually single, after growing up believing he is the carbon copy of his womanizing and cheating father. But when he meets Persephone he wants to change. Some character flaws are to deeply entrained tho and when you mix a bachelor with a recently hurt female it is a recipe for disaster. Fully enjoyable, fast and heart string pulling book.

  • Robin Reviewer

This was a cute story. The characters were loveable with the exception of the ones who weren't supposed to be. I have read the first two books in the story but remember practically nothing about them. I read almost a book a day, so a lot of books run together, but it's not a good indicator when I can't remember if I've read the book after reading the blurb. I could not with the first two. The only thing I could remember and only because I mentioned it in my review was how ridiculous Dexter was about his sister and friend getting together.

While this story isn't completely original, it isn't a storyline I've read a thousand times. Trent offers Penny his spare room when she needs a place to stay. Nothing about rent is mentioned. She also doesn't tell Trent she has a cat, which I thought was pretty crappy. Even when she realizes she didn't mention it, she isn't apologetic about it. Trent rolls with it anyway.

Penny was fairly immature. Here Trent is offering her a room, possibly rent-free, and she gives him a long list of rules for the apartment. That was way out of line. She even lists that he has to take care of her cat if she isn't home. Another rule is they have to give 2 days' notice before having guests over. In the beginning, the rule meant for hookups, but Penny applies to anyone popping by for any reason, which is another ridiculous thing. But Penny's personality is just an aspect of the book and doesn't make the book poorly written, although I'm not sure she was supposed to come across as immature and a bit spoiled.

Trent seemed to change his outlook on never having a serious relationship on a dime. It didn't seem like there was a slow transition. Although, the transition was probably slower in his head than in his words. And Trent was a trooper putting up with Penny. She was likeable enough that he tolerated the rules knowing there were some he knew he would break. In fact, he seemed to have it as a challenge.

There were some editing errors. There were several misused pronouns. I/he/she/who are subject pronouns. Me/him/her/whom are object pronouns. Most people who make errors either these do it when they add a second person in as the object or subject along with the person referenced by the pronoun. It's rare to see someone write "Him gave the book to I." But people often make the mistake of "John and him gave the book to Chris and I." The correct sentence is "He and John gave the book to Chris and me." This is a pet peeve of mine and hear it more and more in the world.

My only other complaint is they spent a bit too much time in their heads. This is something readers really don't like.

Overall, I enjoyed the book and her immaturity was a small piece of it. I enjoyed their time with friends. I loved the interactions with her brothers and hope to see a series about them. They're all named a word meaning "love" from different languages. It would be obnoxious in real life, but is fun in fiction.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. And I'm not an easy reviewer. I read almost a book a day, or sometimes more, and only give about one five star rating a month. Most books get 3 🌟 from me, so a 4 🌟 book is something I find to be pretty good but typically could use a little extra something to make it perfect.

Trent has appeared in the three prior A Drunk Love series books. A renowned food critique and socialite, he has proclaimed his bachelor status and hasn’t even considered love or relationships. He’s been a sounding board to his gal pals Alicia and Emily, and has frequently joined the Rockwell siblings in their Bar, the Rock Room.

He meets Persephone/Penny while out with his brother, Toby, and Emily and Alicia at a hay bar. His older brother is affectionate and their family shows affection with hugs and check kisses, so unbeknownst to him, Persephone makes the assumption he is gay and in a relationship with Toby.

Penny is fresh out of a relationship with a live-in boyfriend of two years who she caught having crazy wild sex with her best friend who introduced Penny to him. She’s lacking in friends so when she hits it off with Alicia, Emily and Trent, they invite her to join them for future nights out. She accepts a lunch date with Trent.

Over lunch she mentions needing to find a roommate, he offers up his spare room before he even realizes what he’s done. The chemistry between Penny and Trent is crazy, but she’s confused because she thinks he’s gay and flirty.

The close proximity of his apartment quickly brings things to a boil between them after Penny tells Trent she saw Toby kissing another guy at lunch…she learns her roommate isn’t gay and is very much attracted to her.

This is an entertaining story with some funny moments with both characters growing and having to look internally to see they have fallen in love despite their desire to just keep things ‘fun’.

I’m looking forward to the 5th and final book in this series, an age gap romance between Luke and Nicole.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is book 4 in the series, but it easily stands alone. The first three books feature several siblings who find love. This book is different as it is about Trent, the girls best male friend.

He is a bit of a huge flirt and playboy and that's related to how he has been treated by his mother because she is very bitter about how his dad treated her. That is why Trent just does friends and is a playboy, he doesn't want to hurt any women by offering them more than one night.

Penny and Trent meet when her friends drag her out to a gay bar, and she meets Trent and believes he is Gay. They end up as roomies when she needs an apartment, and he has an empty room.

The way that Penny learns Trent is not Gay was absolutely awesome. I loved how honest these two are with each other about absolutely everything. I loved that Trent tells her right away he is straight and doesn't hid the truth from her. And I love how brave Penny was in her trying to protect him even though at that stage she does not know him well.

These two have a really wonderful and awesome connection and that really jumps off the pages and made me fall hard for Penny and also Trent. This book was a lot of fun and I loved Trent's fun-loving personality, but we also get to see his pain from his mother and fathers' relationship.

Penny was a wonderful character, and I loved all her brothers and I hope the author writes a series about them next. They made me laugh in several scenes. I just wished we had seen more of them.

For those looking for a hot, sexy and flirty light read this book was wonderful. It was so good that I could not put it down.

I received a complimentary kindle version of this book and am voluntarily leaving my review.

Trent's going to break ALL the rules!

Aww, this was a very charming love story with a lot of heart. Trent is everything a jaded playboy should be, except he's not really that jaded and he's really not much of a playboy. His mother, of all people, labeled him a womanizer like his father before he was even old enough to know any better, and now it seems he has no choice but to live up to (down to?) that reputation. As one of the best friends trio in this book series - with Alicia and Emily - we've seen Trent throughout the previous books, and I was so happy to see that he finally gets his own HEA.

Persephone is extremely gun-shy about dating after watching her last relationship unravel, so she's thrilled to find a nice guy with a room to rent who also happens to be very safely gay. Ooops. So when she figures out she's wrong about that, she comes up with a list of rules to keep Trent at arm's length, a list that Trent only uses to see how much he can away with. I loved their interactions, their gradually developing romance, their snarky banter. I loved that he eventually lived to regret adding his own rules to the list - especially Rule #15.

Persephone's brothers are a whole thing as well, and I really hope their introduction in this book was intended to foreshadow their own upcoming series. These are guys I'm dying to read more about! Trent really showed his courage when dealing with these guys.

I love the Gaelic endearments scattered throughout, and once again the author is generous with the love scenes. The writing is absorbing and the characters are intriguing, although I would like to recommend that the author find an editor who understands plurals, tenses, and proper use of apostrophes.

Those little things were easy to overlook when the story is this good, and the HEA was absolutely beautiful. I highly recommend this for all contemporary romance readers. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Okay hmm where do I begin hahaha! so first off I wanted to say I’m super greatful that I got to be able to be apart of this wonderful story that I received as an arc💜 what I loved about this book is that it was super easy to read, I loved penny and Trent so much honestly🥺 but i absolutely disliked her ex and her so called betrayer of best friend loll! This book definitely came with a plot twist that I wasn’t ready for😂😂! Also I laughed so hard when penny though Trent was gay😂😂😂! Penny may be a little stubborn but I still liked her either way, as for Trent I already knew he fell for her the minute he saw her in the club hahaha! Not gonna lie what she told him was kinda harsh, but I’m glad they got through it honestly🥺💜 my heart did a little happy dance when they got married at the end🥰 also can we talk about the nicknames Trent gives her🥺(swoons) even though I had to translate it lol! I hate what she went through with her ex and couldn’t trust Trent🥲! Loll what I found so funny was the fact that she had rules and he’s out here trying to break them haha! But yea I’m super grateful and glad to be apart of this amazing book and I know I already said in the beginning haha! Can’t wait to read the next book💜💜!

This is the 4th book in the Drunk Love series and my favorite so far! I adore all of the couples in this series but there is something about Trent and Persephone that had me swooning from the very beginning!

Persephone struggles with her recent break up and realizes that what she thought was love was not. She is afraid to let herself feel love because she fears she won't ever find it. Trent is a glorified "playboy" on the outside but on the inside he longs to avoid that stigma and find the love of his life.

The passion between these two is off the charts HOT!! Trent teaches Persephone to love herself and explore her needs. Their chemistry in and out of the bedroom will melt your Kindle! The pet names Trent uses for Persephone, that are always spoken in Gaelic, had me starry eyed!

The people whom Trent and Persephone love the most, friends, Sophia, Trent's brother and Owen, and Persephone's 4 brooding brothers add so much fun and depth to their story.

This book is one that I could read again and again! Now excuse me while I hose down my Kindle ;)

  • Lindsy

Another 5 star read from Aria Bliss!
Aside From Me is the 4th book in the series and is Trent/Persephone’s story. Steamy, forced proximity/roommate romance.
We’ve met Trent before this book and he’s friends with Emily and Alicia. Some people have mistaken him as gay because he dresses well and has 2 female friends, etc. Unfortunately one of those people happens to be Persephone.
She’s in a tight spot and needs a place to stay.
It was lust at first sight for Trent so it was a terrible idea for him to offer a room to Persephone but he did it anyway. She thinks he’s gay so what could go wrong?
It was definitely interesting to read how Persephone grew up considering she has 4 brothers. I could not imagine living in an RV with 6 other people. I felt bad for her at times because she was very hesitant about certain things. I loved how Trent was with her though and how patient he was. He definitely was a favorite character of mine.
I do wish these two could have talked about things better and didn’t have to hurt each other but in the end this was a really steamy book with Irish endearments thrown in.

  • Celeste

Wow, Penny && Trent’s book was on fire!! I loved Trent in all the book and his relationship with his best friends! I need me a friend like Trent in my life, he’s definitely one of a kind. When he meets our shy && reserved Penny who doesn’t have much life experience, I loved her from the beginning. It made me sad that she didn’t get to experience many things growing up && to live with 4 boys in an RV, Omg I felt her pain! Lol. I was the opposite though, as penny is the oldest, I’m the youngest. But I still understood her stand point of having her own space!

It’s honestly hard to pick which one has been my favorite so far but I love Trent && Persephone’s love story. They had so much love between them that they fought. I loved their chemistry and chemistry he banter. One part that made me sad was the way Trent’s mom treated him! It broke my heart for him. You’re not supposed to take your hurt out on your kids. But this was a great love story and I can’t wait to read the last book in the series! It’s been amazing from book one && I know the last Rockwell won’t disappoint.

Another steamy romance from Aria Bliss. Although it says it works as a standalone I felt as though a little more background for some of the characters would have helped, but regardless I enjoyed this quite a bit.

Trent is a self-proclaimed Playboy, living in the shadow of the man his father was. His mother constantly reminds him of this and he has yet to prove her wrong. Love 'em and leave 'em is his way of operating.

But when he meets Persephone he is immediately drawn to her innocence and her beauty. She, however, thinks he is gay when she sees him being affectionate with a man, a man that turns out to be Trent's brother.

Persephone has just gotten out of a serious relationship after she found her fiance sleeping with her best friend. She moves into Trent's spare bedroom still thinking he isn't at all attracted to her.

It's quick and fun and down and dirty.

  • Craftybookworm11

So while overall I really liked this book, the big thing I didn't like is a certain scene after everything went down. Trent flirts with another women after being with Persephone. It's just my personal preference that stuff like this doesn't happen after the couple get together, especially given that Persephone has a history of being cheated on, it's just really icky. It also shows a lack of actual care for the other person, all this while he supposedly loves her. That aside the relationship between Trent and Persephone was pretty good. I loved how he was telling her that he was fine with her drinking his wine and eating his food, even when she wanted to keep it separate. I also would have loved to see Persephone make a meal of Mediterranean food for Trent since that was kinda made a big deal of and it basically went nowhere. But it was enjoyable and the characters were believable and for the most part you could root for them.

Persephone has had a recent break-up that she is having a hard time getting over. Persephone thought she was in love and had found her happily ever after. Persephone needed a place to live, and Trent was super helpful to rent her a room. Now, what is funny is that Persephone thought that Trent was gay. Trent was not gay and was seriously interested in Persephone. The list of rules that Persephone compiled was epic. As sparks started to ignite family and friends ensured that there was a lot of laughter and drama.
Trent has the drama of being compared to living in his father’s shadow as a playboy by his mother. Unfortunately, Persephone could not believe that Trent would be interested in her as he was known as playboy. Once the passion ignited between them it could not be extinguished. This book was a 4th in the series of Drunk Love, I enjoyed it so much, I started to read the other books. Aria Bliss is a great new author I discovered.
I received an ARC copy of this book and am leaving an honest review.

Aside From Me is a wonderful story. I enjoyed the characters. Their journey starts with misunderstandings. They both have to overcome past rejections and heartbreak. The more time spent together new feelings arise.

Persephone “Penny” Rosi is recovering from a bad breakup and portrayal from her best friend. She was raised by loving parents in an R.V. with four brothers. She always looked forward to moving out and having her own space. Penny believed she had found it until she found her best friend and boyfriend together. Her friend/coworker conveniences Penny to go out and let off steam in a place she feels safe. She encounters more than she believed possible.

Trent Parsons has built an enjoyable life for himself. He makes a great living. He put his heart on the line once. She rejected him, so he only gets involved with women who accept his conditions. When he meets Penny, he goes against his own rules.

Trent the flirty best friend of Alicia and Emily who struggles because he’s a constant reminder to his Mom of his Playboy Dad. The Dad who lives his women and can’t be faith to his wife and another if his children. He’s got the looks and the flirty personality.

Persephone has her life turned upside down when she finds her best friend having sex with her fiancé in her own bed. This takes all of her confidence in herself, love, and relationships away.

She lonely and homeless. He best friends, Aldi and and James talk her into going to a gay club and just let herself go! She meets Trent and they hit it off from the start. Trent offers her a room to move in until she’s back in her feet. Persephone thinks this is a great idea. I mean Trent is gay right? Toby keeps kissing his cheek, hugging him, and messes up his hair.

What happens when she finds out that Trent isn’t really gay, but wants more with him? Can they make it work?

This was fun to read- I really liked the chemistry between Trent and Penny.
There was an annoying run-down of characters that dragged in the 1st Trent chapter that had me a little worried what his voice would be like throughout the book and while it was funny that she thought he was gay because his drunk brother was overenthusiastic, thinking about how touchy the brother must have been was definitely...interesting. Trent annoyed me at first because how can he be mad at her about things that aren't her fault and say sexist things like "women cant be trusted with their feelings" and have me like him? But it got largely better from the beginning chapters.
The praise and nicknames Trent gives Penny I was liiiiiving for. Their conflicts made sense in context and didn't last overly long. The other characters who have books in the series were woven in well. Some of the sex scenes were definitely hot. Generally, dual POV is a win for me so that's a bit of a given.
A few things I'll note that brought my rating down a star: she literally says she she can't get herself off because she caught her brothers doing it too many times and for why did I have to read that. Then she brings up her brothers "jerking off" again AND THEN she talks about how she heard her parents having sex all the time. I was horrified and it simply wasn't all necessary. Penny also is sooo annoyed about all the texts and calls from her ex boyfriend and friend. Girl, just block them. Lastly, Trent's daddy issues sometimes did give off knockoff Hook, Line, and Sinker Fox vibes.
Overall, a fun read. I believe the FMC and MMC actually like each other and I enjoyed reading about them.

    Great addition to the series
I'm glad to read that Trent finds love and in Persephone he has found a great partner. This is a very enjoyable book. It's easy to read and written with heart and humour. While we already know Trent, being besties with Emily and Alicia and having appeared in the other books in the series up to now, through the dual point of view structure of the story, we learn so much more about his life and why he is the way he is. Persephone is new to us and their meet cute in a gay bar leaves her believing he's gay and therefore safe to move in with. The discovery that he's straight leads to the list of rules most of which become a challenge for Trent to break. Lots of hot sex scenes as Trent helps her discover her sexuality while breaking those rules! Persephone has four very overprotective brothers who steal every scene they're in bringing pure comedy with their antics. This is lighthearted and fun and a joy to read.

I’m diving through this series more like binge reading, because it’s so very hard to stop.

Trent’s always been a talented food critic who’s always seemed happy and it’s assumed he’s a real charmer and player, but is he… Did something happen to push away from love… I've always been a huge fan of Trent, this book only made me adore him even more. I connected and felt heartache for him.

Persephone has lived a sheltered life, living her entire life with her family of 4 brothers and her parents traveling and living in an RV together. She was homeschooled and being the oldest she couldn’t wait to finish online college and get a job in NYC. I felt such an connection to her having had such a similar up bringing with moving around. You'll connect and remember what she goes through in this book.

So heartwarming, realistic, emotional, it touches your heart strings. I felt so connected to them, even bringing me to tears.

Received as an ARC and leaving my honest review voluntarily. Trent has appeared throughout the series as this sweet, sexy, charming and confident guy who's best friends with Emily and Alicia and I've always been intrigued with who will capture his heart.

I liked Persephone (Penny) with Trent, the 2 have their own insecurities and flaws to overcome, yet they somehow complement each other and although their journey to HEA isn't easy, it's an effort they need to put in to overcome their fears. The story tugged on my emotions, bringing to mind the reminder that the actions of parents can affect a child in the long term, and that was just so sad! The ending and epilogue was perfect for this couple and just made me smile.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
