The answer arrived when her grandmother got out of prison with a heart full of Hell and mind for revenge.
The first new fiction from Tim Murr, award nominated author of The Gray Man, Neon Sabbath, and My Head is Full of Black Smoke, since 2020 is a mean slab of Splatterpunk action horror.
Jeffery X Martin, author of BLACK FRIDAY and HUNTING WITCHES has called Murr the "D Boone of horror" and his stories, "short exploratory surgeries, deep cuts exposing the stinking, poverty-stricken heart of hell.”

Whatever Happened to Spider Baby Jane? Reviews

Incorporating a fun smorgasbord of horror and pop culture touchstones from Evil Dead to Rob Zombie, Fangoria to The Punisher, Tim Murr’s twisted horror-thriller-bildungsroman is the perfect dish for a Gen X reader to devour in one sitting. When an unsettling stranger shows up on Jane’s doorstep, ominously wishing her farewell, Murr’s plucky teen protagonist finds herself the object of a gruesome revenge plot, but Spider Baby, as she’s nicknamed, has a trick or two up her sleeve. "Jane had been talking to all the little things that scurried and slithered since she was a little girl. She didn’t know how she did it, but she’d long since stopped telling people she could. It was cute when she was five to tell stories about talking to June bugs and daddy long legs, but she was just a weirdo at best and a liar at worst these days." I really liked Jane but I think I was just as enamored with Tyler, her curmudgeonly bad ass grandpa. Action-packed and fast-paced all the way to the end, “Whatever Happened to Spider Baby Jane” is a delightful treat with a perfect length to read on the subway ride home or the plane ride to your summer vacation spot.
