On the day of her brother's wedding, Rachel is reminded by her family that she's the only unmarried one left. Her grandmother rudely tells Rachel that she's in her 30's, and she's going to have to work harder to catch up and have a lot of babies.

Angry over the entire thing, Rachel runs to Lily's house. Once there, Rachel thinks back to how her crazy, lesbian relationship with Lily got started when they were in college. In the time since then, Lily has become Rachel's rock.

Rachel is from a highly religious family, who thinks that it's odd that Rachel isn't currently barefoot and pregnant. This is something that's only brought to the forefront with one of Rachel's brother's getting married, and her older, female relatives start in on why she isn't thinking about getting married and having children.
But, the problem is that Rachel has a secret. One that she's kept since college. She's actually a lesbian. Not only that, but she also has a girlfriend. Her freshman roommate, who she accidentally kissed during a game of spin the bottle. The kiss sparked something inside of Rachel, and after a lot of soft, romantic gestures from Lily, Rachel begged the other girl to have her way with her.
In the present, Lily tells Rachel that she accepted a job in New York, and asks Rachel to "run away" with her. To leave her terrible family behind. Rachel agrees, because she's tired of hiding exactly who she is.

20 pages, Amazon ebook. 18+ for sexual content.

Not normally a fan of this kind of a pairing, but there's something so tender and sweet about Granger's voice. The way that Rachel kissed Lily for the first time. The way that Rachel had that "oh" moment when she realized she didn't like boys, and just wanted kisses from Lily forever.

A beautifully written story that straddles the line between being erotic and hitting the nail on the head with religious bigotry. From the forward, I kind of get the impression that this was written from a place of hurt and experience, and I feel kind of bad for the author if she had to experience that kind of traumatic shit.

I hate myself for making myself wait to read this, but it dropped on a Monday (and what it it with her and Mondays anyway?). So I had to wait until later to read it.

Granger has done it again. I can't believe how steamy that this was. I wanted to savor it, yet I wanted to read it as fast as possible. Another 5 star book from Granger!

Here's hoping she writes more lesbian stuff in the future.

Aaaaaaa, I can't wait! July 18th seems so far away!
I can't believe that Granger actually wrote a straight-up lesbian story finally!
