  I expected more. It was short and the development was insufficient.
  I liked the interracial characters, it is not common in mafia romance stories! 😉

  Giovanni is a successful MMA fighter before he has to retire to take on the duty of Capo to the Nashville chapter of the Deluca mafia. At his last fight he is attacked, but Buddy King is there to help him. In return, Giovanni gives Buddy’s daughter, Egypt, a secretary job so she doesn’t leave Tennessee and her father.
  
  This was more of an office romance with dom, grump mafia hero, and his sunshine assistant. Giovanni was often a grump ass, only showing his small mushy side to Egypt. Meanwhile, Giovanni works to catch up to the asshole that ordered his murder, while dodges the racist Carly’s attempts at upgrading her position on her knees, to something more.
  
  Egypt eventually slaps the taste out of Carly’s mouth and that shit was satisfying af.
  
  The rest of the story was... ok.

  I loved the DeLuca family and how they held each other down! Giovanni was an asshole, but with a soft spot for Egypt! How did this woman weasel her way into the heart of this ruthless man? He tried all he could to keep things professional, but he had to have her! Egypt knew just what she was doing to get Giovanni to notice her! I did expect a bit more action, and violence but let's see where the rest of the series takes us. Enjoyable read! 👍👍

  The plot and storyline were good. I loved the main characters I wanted more of their story even though I know it had to end sometime. I love the cover of this book. Egypt was a strong woman and I enjoyed her character along with Gio. I also loved his cousins and which they could have found love in future books. Just Saying😊😁.

  As a favor to her father Buddy King, Giovanni “the Brawler” DeLuca hired Egypt as his executive personal assistant. She was attracted to her boss but she quickly learned that he was not a nice man or friendly man, he was the personification of a hard-ass. He was actually a strict non-smiling no-nonsense scary man and she was in love with him. Head over heels in love with her boss. He may not be kind in the traditional sense of the word, but he has kindness in him. He shows it to her in little ways. Egypt knew he was involved in the mafia and illegal gambling but she did not ask questions. She just did her job. Gio kept his family business separate from his legal business and Egypt knew about it all. She proved herself as being irreplaceable time and time again. He trusted Egypt as much as he trusted his family and that said a lot. She was getting under his skin since day one. But she appeared not to be even phased by him. He takes his passion that Egypt caused out on his bedmate Carly who is none the wiser that it is not her he’s really attracted to.
  
  Carly is a socialite and an heiress of an oil magnate who irritates the hell out of Egypt with her condescending racist comments to her. You would think that she would get the hint from the way Gio treats her.
  
  WIth the badgering of her long-time friends Ari, Alexis, and Smith, they persuade her to push to see if Gio is actually attracted to her by having Smith accompany her to one of Gio's private parties. He loses it when he sees the Thor-looking M.F. with her. But he can’t put her in more danger than what she really is by working for him. Congressman Wyatt is also swirling around her trying to get her to work for him, presenting Gio with another problem.
  
  There is more underhandedness going on than Gio or Egypt knew. Carly was sleeping and telling everything she knew. She was a snake hiding in plain sight in Giovanni’s garden. In the process, Egypt’s father’s secret is revealed and she is mad as hell and is fed up. Gio is not having that because he can not imagine living without Egypy King. He wants his HEA with Egypt and their coming addition to the DeLuca family.

  My money was on Egypt.
  
  My sixth standalone book of the 𝑺𝒂𝒗𝒂𝒈𝒆 𝑩𝒍𝒐𝒐𝒅𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒆 series. Since the books are now standalone, I may read several more. I am on the fence about Giovanni DeLuca's story. While I understand this is a collection of stories by different authors. This one like some others did not read like a mafia romance from my perspective and was not what I expected. Giovanni is leaving the MMA circuit behind to become the family Capo in Nashville. Egypt King is Giovanni's trusty PA and the woman he wants, but will not allow himself to be come involved. When Giovanni gives into his feeling for Egypt, their blissfulness does not last for long. Egypt learns how she came by her job in Giovanni's organization.

  I loved Giovanni and Egypt's story in the Savage Bloodlines boxset. And I love the standalone story just as much. I love the way Kasey Martin brought these characters together. Giovanni hired Egypt as a way of repaying Buddy, Egypt's father, for saving his life. Egypt quickly became his ache and his deepest desire.
  This book has so much drama, chemistry, humor, passion, steamy sex scenes and lots of jaw dropping action! I love the DeLuca Savages! I cannot wait to read the rest of the individual books from the boxset.

  I am loving the DeLuca men …
  Beautiful Egypt had to endure seeing Giovanni going through his rotation of bedmates even when she is dying inside because she is herself in love with the Mafia Prince, her boss. I love Egypt, beautiful, smart, intelligent and very mature in spite of her age.
  DeLuca Men are swoon worthy!!
  As always Kasey Martin you did a fantastic job.

  There is not a thought or section of this story that Kasey Martin wanted to complete.
  
  We spend a lot of time getting backstories - for which I am grateful - but why not just tell the story?
  
  I stayed for the characters. Which is good in the grand scheme of things. I love Egypt and Gio. I just don't know why they got together outside of lust and nothing about them was compatible or sexy. His sex scene with racist Carly was better.
  
  I enjoyed their professional relationship but nothing about their personal relationship endeared me to them as a couple.
  
  As for the mafia stuff, even the readers never get too deep into DeLuca business so I really don't know what my focus was supposed to be.
  
  Still, I enjoyed most of the story and wish the relationship had some work behind it. Even Giovanni was surprised by how easy everything was for him, so imagine the readers.
  
  On the plus side, I wasn't sure of the reading order for this anthology but I am starting to realise that it doesn't matter. It's one world and the DeLuca's are Kings of their sections.

  Loooooooove the Grumpy x Sunshine trope of this book. I love how it's in a mafia version as well. I must say the twist in this was a slight shock though. Kinda didn't see it coming. But I am not feeling the whole her leaving him and then basically hide that she was pregnant. But boy when he found out. He at least gave her time and let her have space but that didn't mean he ain't know where her butt was at. Of course they threw in a little misunderstanding about how he really felt about her towards the end but none the less loved it. I enjoyed the read.

  This was a great story. Because Buddy saved Giovanni's life he repaid him by giving his daughter Egypt a job in his company. The desire they had for each other was off the charts. The drama and chaos that comes with being a DeLuca didn't scare Egypt away but it did get her caught up in it. Carly got exactly what she deserved. Never would have thought she was a snake. No one wins against a DeLuca.💚💚

  So far, Besides Enzo, Giovanni has been my favorite. I love his unfiltered speech and actions. I also loved how Egypt handled him. She was wise and dealt with him the only way you can when dealing with someone like that.

  This was really good! It was short and I read it in practically one day but every page was awesome! I am now addicted to the DeLuca men! LOL! Onward to the next one in the series. I am sure not to necessarily read in any "order" but all seem to be pretty good!

  I loved this story from beginning to end. Giovanni and Egypt relationship was explosive and compatible from the onset. Great book with a little bit of action.

  Since I already read this story in the Savage Bloodline book, I already knew what to expect. I assumes that the individual book would have been a continuation of the original story…wrong. I gave it 4 stars because I actually liked the story.
