She’s the wife he never wanted…and the weakness he never saw coming.

Ruthless. Meticulous. Arrogant.

Dante Russo thrives on control, both personally and professionally.

The billionaire CEO never planned to marry—
until the threat of blackmail forces him into an engagement with a woman he barely knows.

Vivian Lau, jewelry heiress and daughter of his newest enemy.

It doesn’t matter how beautiful or charming she is. He'll do everything in his power to destroy the evidence and their betrothal.

There’s only one problem: now that he has her...he can't bring himself to let her go.

***
Elegant. Ambitious. Well-mannered.

Vivian Lau is the perfect daughter and her family’s ticket into the highest echelons of high society.

Marrying a blue-blooded Russo means opening doors that would otherwise remain closed to her new-money family.

While the rude, elusive Dante isn't her idea of a dream partner, she agrees to their arranged marriage out of duty.

Craving his touch was never part of the plan.

Neither was the worst thing she could possibly do: fall in love with her future husband.

King of Wrath is a steamy billionaire/arranged marriage romance. It contains explicit sexual content, profanity, and mild violence. Recommended for mature readers only.

King of Wrath (Kings of Sin, #1) Reviews

i’ve never read anything faster in my life…king of wrath is in one word sumptuous. the plot, the characters, the writing…nothing was a miss and i’m so excited to see the rest of this series thrive out. 🤌🏽

Vivian is a rich, smart, bad bitch. reading through her pov was so refreshing and relatable in so many ways. she’s strong, resilient, and so compassionate it’s admirable. she comes from a family that expects nothing less than perfection while trying to adhere to their every expectations. at some points, i was like “is this author writing about me?” but that surely isn’t the case because i’m not getting my back blown out every few chapters…😝

i’m not even fucking playing sometimes i didn’t know what position they were in like was miss girl doing jumping jacks on the D?!? it was like no other and i ate that shit up.😩

anywayyys… Dante….god fuck…holy fucking shit…i can’t even put into words the havoc this dude has wreaked on my ovaries. i’d let this man gaslight me. everything that he’d do would be 10x more attractive compared to the next fictional man because he’s rich as fuck. speaking in italian, planning dates (he goes above and beyond), and becoming a better man all together…damn. there’s hot af fictional men and then there’s HIM. the character development for him was so satisfying because Vivian is wayyy stronger than me for not throwing a chair on his fucking face with all the bantering they did.🫣

oh and if there’s anything i’m going to hyper fixated on, it’s a man willing to get on his knees and beg for forgiveness. and get on his knees and beg for forgiveness he does. the groveling in this book was like no other. compared to the other groveling this author has written in previous works. this one stands out on the top imo. and the multiple JEALOUSY scenes we were spoon fed. fucking hell…the invisible leash Vivian has on Dante is NOT to be joked about. it’s the way the mere existence of Vivian makes Dante lose his fucking mind 🧎🏻‍♂️

this book was wildly entertaining, relatable as fuck (if you’re a child of an immigrant, brace yourselves), and a fucking tease honesty. and the sexual tension between me and the next book in this series is tangible 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨

    Utterly unoriginal.

I am convinced I could have written this book myself, actually. Considering I've read these scenes, characters, and even specific phrases a million times before. She didn't even bother making it somewhat distinguishable. Ana said reuse, reduce, recycle♻️

DNF-ing a book in monthsss and it feels so good, so refreshing, so right because what the utter crap was this book?! sigh
Reading this book felt like going out all excited, accidentally stepping in a puddle and walking around with a damn wet sock- yes, it's that uncomfortable.

    Getting to the tropes-
✔️Arranged marriage (for both of them)
    ✔️Forced proximity
    ✔️Dislike to love
    ✔️Insta lust/love
    ✔️Billionaire guy x heiress girl
    ✔️Interracial romance
    ✔️Age gap
    ✔️Dual POV

The tropes make it sound so good right?! Well, news flash- IT'S NOT!

Dante (of course he's named Dante) is the MMC. He is the typical arrogant billionaire guy. The author tried to present him as someone like Tony Stark, minus the Iron Man tech but Dante just came across as an ass. Even tho he has a good backstory, there is nothing to him. His personality is as bland as plain white bread.

Vivian She's supposed to be an heiress, but does she have the brains for it? Of course not. She was supposed to be Serena van der Woodsen, but she couldn't be. Although, she is much more tolerable than Dante. There's no life to her tho. Even Pinocchio who once came to life, had much more life to him.

The chemistry it's non existent. The characters see each other for the first time and Vivian feels it in her coochie and Dante's cock starts having a stroke. This is like 10 pages in to the book. Idk how many of you know this but I can't stand insta lust/love especially when it's not written well.

The way it's written is so Wattpad. I know that Ana Huang is a very distinguished author and has immense talent (from what I hear) but this was my first book I read of hers and I'm SO SO SOOOO DISAPPOINTED. I don't think I can get over the cliche dialogues she wrote. It's over the top cheesy and absolutely unrealistic, even for a fictional world.

I have the Twisted series on my physical TBR, and I honestly don't see myself reading it anytime soon. Reading King of Wrath was such a bad experience, won't recommend it to anyone. The only good thing about it is the cover.

one thing is for sure - you know exactly what you are going to get when you pick up a AH book.

is this the most original story out there? no. some elements actually feel a bit recycled from her own previous stories. but is it kind of pick-me-up readers sometimes need to forget about the real world for a little bit? yes, yes it 1000% is.

and its that consistency that will always make me pick up a new AH novel.

a sophisticated and sexy romance that i wasn't expecting

i started reading ana huang's twisted series last year and was instantly drawn in by her writing style, like many many other readers. there was something so accessible and fanfic-y about that series that just... worked. you knew pretty quickly upon starting each book what tropes would be involved and what the character dynamics would be like. which i find so fun! but i know that isn't for every reader.

this book? is the start of a new series and i think marks a slight departure from ana huang's signature formula. and i ain't mad at it. this book follows dante and vivian who enter into a fake engagement due to ~circumstances i won't reveal here lest i risk spoiling the book~

not altogether different than Twisted Lies in terms of plot. but the execution here is the difference. the relationship between vivian and dante is much more subtle than any of this author's previous couples. i think maybe because vivian is 28 rather than a fresh college grad? but there isn't any bumbling awkwardness on the part of the heroine or OTT cheesy confessions too early on from the hero. instead you have a relationship that unfolds a little more delicately.

but fear not twisted series fans. there are enough intriguing plot moments and scorching hot sex scenes to keep your interest.

the only thing that kept this book from being a 5 star read for me was the conflict. you know early on what it will be, but i was still holding out hope we'd go in a different direction. i'm not a huge fan of deceit/lies of omission in a romantic relationship. but the grovel at the end almost makes up for it.

overall, excited to see where this series goes. and really intrigued to see who our next couple will be!

thanks to Valentine PR for the ARC

dantevivian are about to dethrone alexava as the most unseasoned couple in the ana-verse.

major red flag when Dante poured soy sauce over his ice cream and actually at that atrocity, i knew i should have stopped.

the fact that not even the side characters and the potential future couples didn't do anything for me in this book. while everybody is salivating about Kai and Isabella, i'm side eying Dominic and Alessandra as my most anticipated couple and hope they get a book, cause i'm a whore for a good marriage-in-crisis book.

i wasn’t about to say anything at all about this book since i already hated on two other popular books, but my default mode is still being a hater and it’s time to fully embrace that part <3

this book yall 🥵 the limo scene? sos. driver roll up the partition plsssss.

vivian was everything, she radiated queen energy & i was absolutely here for it. dante was hot, don’t get me wrong, but he was a bit boring so vivian took the cake for me. loved the rich gossip girl vibes this gave and i’m so excited for the rest of the series.

overall, i had a lovely fucking time.
CANNOT WAIT FOR KING OF PRIDE.

  • ellie

watching the livestream of Liz Truss vs the lettuce had me more gripped and on the edge of my seat than this book.

  • Zoe (Marauders version)

Ava Huang writes a very specific type of book.

It’s always the same story but in different fonts, guy claims ‘not to like’ the girl, then some time passes and as it does the man becomes even more obsessed with them, lines such as: ‘don’t touch her, your mine, I would kill for you’ excetera excetera make an entrance and it makes the girlies go crazy. And I’m not gonna lie, I am one of those girlies.

Although Ana’s writing may be the same, I still love all the love interests.
I don’t know if there is just something about a rich powerful man who would bow at your knees if you said so.

I love when men know their place.

Dante Russo would literally kill for Vivian, in fact he nearly did. He was obsessed with everything about here and I was here for it.

And their little weird snacks that they shared was so cute, as he opened up to Vivian and showed who he really was underneath that business persona. And underneath that was someone who cared and did sentimental shit for Vivian.

Love how the standard is on the ground.

I love a gentleman on the streets but a devil in the sheets and that’s what we damn wanted and we damn got it all right.

Because those smut scenes and those ‘good girls’ had me weak at the knees.

But the fighting had me tired, like sure it is an arranged marriage but I hated when he shut her out and didn’t know any emotions. That's such a turn off for me.

Overall, this book was okay, it wasn’t a masterpiece by any standards but it was enjoyable.

You would like it if you liked:

    TWISTED LIES
    TWISTED LOVE

    PREDICTIONS FOR NEXT BOOKS:

there’s gonna be a book about Luca and the mafia princess: forbidden romance OR with leaf idk yet if he’s telling the truth about over the mafia girl

Sloane and the guy who got into a car crash are gonna get together, boss and employee kinda romance

Kai and isabella are gonna get together, we love a gentleman in the streets and a devil in the sheets add a British accent and perfection

Dominique and Alssandra are gonna have a fixed marriage book

Thank you for coming to my TED talk

How many times have I read this same story, but with a different title and by a different author? millions. Will that stop me from reading it one more time? NEVER!!

In all honesty, Dante and Vivian are nothing more than your generic brand of arranged marriage but also hard proof that some trope combos work even without a hard thought never-seen-before blow your mind kind of plot, aaaaand... I'll leave it up to you if that's a good or bad thing.

I'm being lazy when it comes to reviews, but here are some thoughts to put my two braincells to use:
    — I liked Vivian (except when she was in front of her parents, but that's maybe because I don't understand that kind of upbringing and I've never been there, and so I especially celebrated when she finally decided to talk back to her father).
Dante Christian Alex Russo... those millions mean nothing if you can't buy a good personality with it!! I'm honestly a little disappointed that all these billionaires club characters are just copies of each other, and don't have a single original thought, like what in the LJShen is this??
    — Now the romance wasn't bad, but it could use a little work. I liked all those romantic gestures and small details between them, but the time jumps and gaps with Dante on so many business trips made it hard for me to think that there was anything more than an bussines arrangement between them.
    — This valhalla club... I had so many BIGGER expectations about it!! You could have gotten the same result with an overpaid tennis club.
    — Miss Ana, I'm begging you to come up with another RhrysBridget or JoshJules, I'M BEGGING YOU WOMAN!!! I don't know what kind of crack you put in them, but those books are something else and I need you to go back to it.
    — Bonus points for mentioning my shitty country TWICE. That was honestly the most surprising thing about this whole story.

This review sounds a bit like I didn't enjoy the book, but actually I used my one day off to read it in one sitting and I really got hooked, I just expected better, not so repetitive.
Just to finish and clarify I wanna say that YES, I KNOW THAT MAGDA IS A PAINTING!! I actually think someone made me realize it the day after the previous review, AND I SAID IT, so besties please stopppp I just didn't delete it because I'm lazy lol

    ---------------------------------------------

yes I KNOW she just announced this series but i already have some ideas about possible characters!! this is definitely Dante Russo's book because billionaire and CEO of a luxury conglomerate, duh. but what about the football player (can't remember his name) in twisted games and twisted hate, is he a possible candidate for this series too? and Magda? i don't know who she is but Christian was in charge of her and set her up with bodyguards but she went missing with no clues... i feel like she could be a main character too!! ok, that's enough of a gut feelings dump for today i think

  • Lacey (laceybooklovers)

LOVED IT!! This is probably my new favorite Ana Huang book. King of Wrath is hot and fantastic and I could nottt stop reading it. It's got an arranged engagement/marriage!!! AND it's such a good enemies to lovers romance too. Dante and Vivian hate each other (which you might've gotten from Twisted Lies), but they've been forced into an engagement neither of them wants. He's being blackmailed by her father and she's agreed out of duty to her parents. She moves into his house for the engagement, they have to pretend to be lovey-dovey to the public, and SPARKS FLY.

During this year-long engagement, Dante works (with Christian) to do everything he can to get rid of the blackmail and destroy Vivian's father... all the while slowly, reluctantly falling for his fiancée. The romance was so much fun to read – the way these two opened up to each other, connected over their pasts, helped each other with the little things, and FINALLY fell into bed together was well-written and perfectly paced.

There's also two of my favorite things here: a jealous, possessive hero, and GROVELING! A beautiful combination, if I do say so myself. The groveling wasn't quite to the extent of Twisted Love lol but I still loved to see it.

If you're a fan of the Twisted series, you won't be disappointed with King of Wrath. This brand new series is already off to a great start and I can't wait for more!

”i spent thirty-seven years thinking my perfect match didn’t exist. you proved me wrong in less than one.”

ana huang’s books are just so addictive and the menwritten by her will forever have me in the biggest fucking chokehold. just the way she writes a grumpy mmc who is obsessed with his girl always sells it for me.

    — dante and vivian are forced into an arranged marriage even though these two despise each other—MY FAV TROPE!!
this was my most anticipated read for this year and honestly this book did not DISAPPOINT. i’m actually mad at myself for reading this book so quick bc i miss dantevivian already.

    — miss vivian, you are THAT girl. her pov was so refreshing to read, defiantly one of my fav fmc ana has written. i love how she stood her own ground and didn’t let dante walk all over her. she is a people pleaser, always having to maintain a high, perfect standard for her toxic parents, but i love her found confidence and her self discovery.
she is a strong, witty, sassy fmc who works for what she wants. her character development was amazing!

    — my god i am a whore for dante, I RLY MEAN IT. i just love a grumpy/arrogant “look at her or touch her and i will kill you” billionaire. he has the dirtiest mouth and i fucking loved it, literally got butterflies in my stomach. why am i still blushing so hard thinking about it!! the stuff he says literally brought me to my knees. the possessiveness and the unhinged jealousy scenes in this book gave me so much serotonin. ugh yes, jealous dante gave me life.
i cannot explain how much i love dantevivian—the tension, chemistry, banter and spice they delivered was immaculate, it was so sexy and i was swooning so hard.
    — these two were made for each other.

    dante: “that’s a good girl”
    me:🧎🏻‍♀️🧎🏻‍♀️🧎🏻‍♀️

this book was so well paced and the plot was good. the only reason why this wasn’t 5 stars for me bc i HATEDthe miscommunication, the worst thing in novels. it literally makes me want to rip my hair out. and i also felt like this book was lacking angst, i needed more imo.
    — but we had some grovelling in this book and i live for that shit, it just gives me so much buzz to see a mmc lose his mind on how to win his girl back 🤭

    tropes:
    arranged marriage
    dislike to love
    billionaire hero
    forced proximity
    hates everyone but her

  • nika

very disappointing and boring i’m afraid. dantevivian gave me absolutely no buzz till the last 20%.

giving 3 start for christian harper (carried the book fr, should’ve been in every chapter🫂) and vivian lau (my princess) only.

  • marwah

    [ 2 stars ]

“Dante?” My heart gradually slowed as I set the vase down. “You’re not supposed to be back until tomorrow. What are…” I didn’t get the chance to finish my sentence before he crossed the room in two long strides and gripped my arms. “Are you hurt?” people died (me)

    still underwhelming.

this book is twisted love in another font.

before I started I told myself: “please don’t disappoint”

    well. here we are 😀

after seeing all these influencers with their five star reviews I was honestly expecting something incredible, life changing something new and totally not original
but want to know what I did get?

➣ a carbon copy of Alex Volkov and Ava Chen.

➣ barely any plot same plot of twisted love different tropes

➣ miscommunication we love to see it😍🔪

    ➣ I didn’t feel development at all

➣ I WAS MORE INTERESTED WITH THE SIDE CHARACTERS FFS that’s how bored I was.

➣ unpopular opinion? I waited for the big third act conflict to happen. I NEEDED ACTION like what we had in the twisted series and all I got was break up and a disowning😐 I’m sorry you got disowned but I need someone to get killed or something!?! if I got that I would have ate that shit up-

Kai Young must be so tired from carrying this entire book on his back. I WILL DEFEND HIM FOREVER HE'S MY MAN. HES BRITISH AND WEARS GLASSES 🧎‍♀️🧎‍♀️oh and he boxes for fun-

I swear every time that man came up I’d be sCREAMINGIBDID
which is why I pitied I gave this 2.5 stars

his book cant disappoint me and if it does I will give one star for him and him only <3

    ———————————————————

    that was disappointing…

you know how i said that dantevivian are definitely gonna serve?? i'm crying on the floor right now because they didn't

welcome to the angry rant about a book that was one of my most anticipated reads. i feel so betrayed 😭

first of all, let's talk about Dante i-only-speak-cliched-lines Russo and Vivian i'm-so-boring-that-i'll-make-you-sleep Lau. i just simply don't give a fuck about them because i feel no connection to them whatsoever. did i even read a whole book about them?? i swear dante and francis (vivian's dad) had more chemistry than these two 💀 i just completed reading the book and i've already forgotten every detail about them, they were THAT boring

i think that the pacing of the book made me lose that connection even more. the timeline was so fucked up that it played a major role in me not feeling anything for dantevivian. somehow the story was happening over a period of eight months and i still felt as if it was insta love because their journey was portrayed so badly

everything and i mean EVERYTHING felt like a movie that i've already seen a hundred times before and even in the end, when vivian finds out about that, i had my fingers crossed and i was like we're finally gonna get some excitement now but nope, NOTHING. just- just ugh i'm so frustrated 😃🔪

also is it just me but i wanted more grovelling. where tf was my grovelling??? like i don't care about you dante but you atleast owe me something after wasting so much of my time on you

oh and the love confessions??? EWWWW stop. dante's i understand okay? it was super cliche but it wasn't bad but vivian's??? what- what was that??? it was so anticlimatic, i can't deal with this anymore

in total, i'm gonna be picking up this book whenever i can't sleep. who needs sleeping pills, when you can have king of wrath with you??

i've been burned but i'm STILL hoping that kai and isabella will redeem this shit and sloane? i loved her so fucking much, i need her book immediately

    -- before reading--
“it amused me to see him snarl every time I brought up the fiancée he claimed to hate”

i repeat- THE. FIANCEE. HE. CLAIMED. TO. HATE.

already know dantevivian are gonna serve 🧎‍♀️

I swear Ana’s books just get better and BETTER!! 😭 King of Wrath was so good. I cannot stress that ENOUGH! i read this book in one whole day because I seriously could not put it down and now that I’ve finished it, IM ANGRY WITH MYSELF because i miss Viv and Dante so much 😭. This book was perfection. Dante is so hot and Viv is such an icon, my queen! I love her. My gosh, I couldn’t get enough of these two. I’m so so excited for the rest of this series😭🤍 just by King of Wrath, i can tell it’s going to be AMAZING!

  • ritika

edit 23.10.22 i finished it because matilda promised me there would be more daddy kai content (and there was), and i just have one question- to all the people giving this book 5 stars, how much money were you paid to do so? blink once if you did it against your will.

now, i had high expectations going into this book, because i loved the twisted series. i read the books before they blew up on tiktok, and i enjoyed it. i liked that ana huang was writing books for herself, not because of clout. this book, however, seems to embody every cringy wattpad troupe you could possibly think of- one bed, groveling, tHereS nO wAy hE wOuLd FiT, enemies-to-lovers-600k. its even worse when you realise that the writing style and story are just recycled
Twisted Love scenes, especially the part when dante makes up for his fuckup.

this review is gonna be kinda long, so i'm sorry, but i just have too many notes to go through.

    story/plot critiques
    1. the number of times the reader is being told how short vivian is compared to dante, like we get it, he radiates fuckboy™️ energy.

Even in heels, Vivian stood a full six inches shorter than me [...]

    2. i'm not even gonna bother trying to explain what the fuck was up with this

    3. enzo vitale speaking in italian >>>>> dante russo speaking in italian; cara mia >>>>>> mia cara
    idc my review my rules.

    4. the dumbest possible sentence to ever be constructed in the english language, and used twice-
    "I sleep hot."

    5. ms. huang
“Leaf,” he said flatly. “Her name is Leaf Greene.”
what the actual fuck is this?

    6. chapter 28. i really wanted to skip that one, because its too personal, and i do not like being called out 😤

    7. this monstrosity that we shall never ever speak of

now that that's over, lets play a game called red flag, green flag.

    vivian's green flags
    ✅ hates olives
✅ has a backbone, but only with luca for 0,1 seconds
✅ mentions that though she doesn't like dante, she would never cheat on him

    vivian's red flags
    🚩 her existence
    🚩 her braincells
    🚩 her intellect
    🚩 her association with heath
🚩 cannot seem to communicate properly and effectively despite having an ivy league education and running an event planning business
🚩 obsessed with pointing out the obvious-
"The world is still spinning, I hope."
    I couldn't sleep.
I dreamt of Dante 3 nights in a row.
    I couldn't stop shivering.
    I should push him off.

    🚩 cannot follow simple orders
    “Vivian,” Luca hissed. “Get down.”
I wanted to. Every instinct screamed at me to crawl into a corner and curl up until the danger was over, but my muscles refused to obey my brain’s commands.

🚩 food always tastes like cardboard to her
I brought a salt-cured prawn to my mouth, but the formerly delicious seafood suddenly tasted like cardboard.
    [...]
The food smelled delicious, but when I swallowed it, it tasted like cardboard.

its not a good book, the plot is non-existent, but because of daddy kai, imma bump it up to 2 stars.

A man who LITERALLY gets on his knees to beg for forgiveness? I’M SOLD.

    4.5 stars*

There is nothing like a solid spicy arranged marriage trope, and Ana Huang knocked it out of the park. Add on how jealous Dante was of any man who got near his fiancée and I was full on in swoon city!

Also, can we take a step back to admire how much of a baddy Vivian was. She owned her life and despite all the pressures of perfection she had to deal with, she sought to make her own life. Loved her SO much.

I also really adored the Manhattan high society vibes, especially as someone who has seen some of these events and clubs first hand.

Honestly, Ana Huang can do no wrong in the spicy romance department. Her sexual tension in this book was CHEF’S KISS.

I loved the little snippets we got of Twisted Lies in this book. Tack on Kai and Isabella’s budding romance. I was a happy camper. Can’t wait for book 2!!

Now, could a lot of our issues been avoided if Dante had simply been honest from the start about the origins of their arranged marriage? Sure. But that wouldn’t make for a fun book haha.

set in the same universe as the twisted series, this book follows vivian + dante in a plot filled with angst as they navigate an arranged marriage!

wow. wow. wow. what a beautiful start to a new series. the twisted series is a favorite of mine so naturally, i went into this book with certain expectations.

as always, ana beyond exceeded said expectations and i truly loved this book! so much so that i read it in one sitting and couldn’t sleep until i finished it.

the characters: i felt such a deep connection with vivian. coming from an asian family, i related to her struggles to maintain perfection, to meet her parents’ high standards, and to constantly feel pressured into doing whatever was asked of her. i completely adored vivian and felt a sense of pride for her character growth throughout the book.

moving on to dante. mf. russo. this man oh my god. something about a man so meticulous always does it for me. the way he speaks to vivian had me screaming and put butterflies in my stomach. i love an arrogant man who has a soft spot for his woman.

the plot + pace: perfection. one thing i love about ana’s writing is how well-paced her stories always are. i appreciate the strength she portrays in vivian when it comes to forgiving others. a lot of the time, fmcs are written to so easily forgive following the mmc’s groveling. the plot in this book proved to be more reasonable and therefore much more enjoyable for me.

as i read this book, my love for the story and characters gradually increased, the last 20% has my entire heart and is something i immediately want to reread.

overall, ana beautifully sets up her new series with this book, starting it off extremely strong. brb making this book my entire personality until king of pride comes out.

thank you so much ana + valentine pr for sending me an arc 💛

I honestly didn’t expect to enjoy this book as much as I did since I wasn’t a big fan of this author’s previous work, but I ended up being very pleasantly surprised :) — I will say that I did have a bit of a hard time getting myself into the story because I wasn’t loving the writing style/all of the ‘high society’ references… but once I got used to it, I found the book to be very entertaining. — it was jam packed with a lot of fun scenes and interactions, I easily felt the chemistry and tension between the two of them, and I very much enjoyed watching Dante slowly fall for Vivian even when he didn’t want or plan to - A reluctant guy falls first/harder situation really makes me swoon when it’s done well, and this book did it fantastically in my opinion.

The only real issue I had was the ending conflict - it was very obvious what it was going to be right from the start and I think that made for a less interesting read. I don’t love reading about lies and deceit (it’s high up there with cheating for me) and I kept hoping that he would come clean earlier on in the story when he had a couple of chances to tell her when it wouldn’t have been as big of a deal… and then we could have had a different issue arise at the end of the story instead… but that didn’t happen, so whatever… it is what it is. — but he did do some nice groveling (which I’m always a sucker for) so that kinda made up for it - still didn’t like what happened, but at least we got that.

I definitely think this book is worth the read - even if you weren’t a fan of the Twisted series like myself. I personally had a great time with it and would recommend it to anyone who’s interested in reading an arranged marriage romance book with a NYC elite/high society setting.

    What a fucking snoozefest.

This is really unoriginal. I’m a little mad. I thought Dante’s and Vivian’s story would be good. This book is very similar to twisted love and twisted lies (if you’ve read the twisted series you’ll know exactly what I mean here..)
Arranged marriage/marriage of convenience is one of my favorite tropes and it did NOT hit in this one at all.

In the beginning, Dante and Vivian’s story gave me Alex and Ava vibes. Vivian had family drama, as well as Ava. Now don’t get me wrong, Ava’s family drama was more twisted, but couldn’t Vivian have a different plot other than family drama? Maybe a plot that helps me connect to her more instead? I literally don’t care about her at all. Her entire personality is her family drama and honestly, I couldn’t care less. Then get this, when Vivian’s at dinner with her family and Dante, she finally sticks up for herself. Sounds familiar doesn’t it? It sounds like twisted lies. Certain parts of the story was enjoyable, but again, where is the originality? Like seriously. Dante just reminds of a less violent version of Christian Harper.. He’s a knock off. Christian is Sprite and Dante is Sierra Mist. I’ll probably forget about them tomorrow to be honest. Their banter was funny sometimes though!!

The twisted series had deranged men I loved, but I need something DIFFERENT from Ana, because it’s getting repetitive. Which is why I need Kai and Isabelle’s story. See Isabelle, I LOVE. She was hilarious! Kai… KAIII😏😏

Ana’s writing is addicting though, it always has been for me. So I got through this it wasn’t torture or anything like that, but it’s still mid at best. Maybe I just don’t like Dante’s and Vivian’s story… I know this can be a series I’ll enjoy. Just enough with the stuck up billionaire CEO and sweet girl shit. I have VERY high expectations for Isabelle’s and Kai’s book, because he’s the complete opposite.. and that accent 😏 I need it NOW.
