I don't cheat or steal, but I do lie a little bit... and participate in the occasional murder... spree.
Life as I know it gets turned upside down when I'm asked to step in and halt the progress of a black market drug tainted with magic. The one little business adventure opens up a whole f*****g Pandora's Box and brings my ebony tower crashing down around me.
As if life wasn't complicated enough, I also now have mates. Emphasis on the ssss part. I want to be mad about it, really I do... but they're so hot, and the temptation to make them all mine is fueling my desire.
With a final mate that I'm not happy about, and a stalker on my heels... maybe having serveral someones at my back isn't such a bad thing.
Don't get me twisted, though...
I'm Sloane f*****g King,
and I'm no damsel in distress.

I am not sure how to rate this book and I am hoping putting some few thoughts down will help me with that.
On one hand, I liked Sloane. I liked her powers and her confidence and I love that she is the Alpha of this harem and not the under dog. I liked her friendship with Jack.
What I didn't like is that it felt like I started in the middle of an ongoing book or series. It took time for me to follow what was going on. The introduction of characters was a bit lacking in details, like we were supposed to already know or have an idea. There was no world building and introduction of some important events and facts also lacked details which left more questions. This made it difficult to enjoy the story because most of the time you are still trying to figure what is what.
There was no building of the relationship with the guys. They were literally just dropped on her door step with a note, introducing them as her mates. And we are expected to believe in the non existent chemistry just because...
I think, only towards the end, I was able to get what the premise of this book was. All along I was just tagging along hoping it will make sense.
I hate how it ended. I hate cliffhangers that are there just for the sake of luring me to read the next book. The storyline should make me want to pick up the next book, not cheap tricks.
I am not sure if I will continue the series but at least I now think I can rate this book. 2 stars for Sloan, Jack and the hounds. -
This started out pretty well and then went a bit downhill.
In some ways it was good: Slone was, on one level, a totally fierce character and part of me loved her crazy powerful she was. On the other hand, the lack of any real weakness made her a bit two dimensional and while the author attempted vulnerability through her issues with York, it felt a bit tagged on.
Her crazy strong powers were a bit incongruous as well, as one minute she is taking down battilions of men single handedly, but then something happens at the end which really made no sense based on everything else we knew about her.
The men were okay and there was an effort made to g in ve them their own identities and this was more successful with some rather than others. Stone and Novak were the only ones that really interested me. Generally with RH of there are more than 4 guys I find it tends to negatively affect the book, as it's just too many guys and relationships to develop properly.
The overall plot sort of felt like it came out of nowhere about almost half of the way through. It felt like it sort of floundered a bit at the start in term of direction and pacing.
I would still recommend it, as there was something there, but it fell a bit short for me and by the last 15% or so I was just ready for it to end. -
For a refresher...
Sloane finds all her mates and has to navigate taking an illegal drug off the market and people trying to kill her. She rescues York, her druid mate, and brings him and a human with her. The one holding York is questioned and they find out info about the drug and attacks on supes. Ended on a cliffhanger with FMCs life hanging in the balance. No worries though. She's a bad@ss so she'll be fine.
The downside is there are little character descriptors given. This is a debut novel though... and the story, action, pacing, plot, premise etc. are all outstanding. So, to me this is about a 4.5, but I'm rounding up because I absolutely loved it.

Ok. We’ve got a long way to go here, but so far, I’m really loving these characters.
The sex is hot as hell already and it’s only just getting started, hopefully.
The relationships are all going at different paces, for different reasons, and I’m enjoying the growth of them.
The characters personalities are all varied and very entertaining when they interact.
Hopefully this just gets better as we go along. -
Brand new author M. F. Adele has brought us her first book, a story jam packed with smoking hot guys, a powerful, kickass antiheroine and a keep-you-on-the-edge-of-your-seat plot. Her ideas are unique and I can definitely see her own personal flair for storytelling shine through the pages. Unfortunately, that was where the positives ended for me.
The sad fact that this story was brought down by so many unnecessary things that could have been easy fixes. The plot suffered some major pacing issues, dragging in some places (like the unnecessary description of an entire mansion and personalised pillows) and rushing through others (like having multiple characters haul a massive info dump on the poor FMC and expecting her to be okay with it. That came out of nowhere). Sloane's suitors were dumped on her all at once, and no relationship developed organically with no time set aside to explore them. Unfortunately, these relationships felt quite forced because the plot required them. Crucial details have been left out of this book. I finished the book with more questions than answers, none of which had to do with a nonexistent cliffhanger. This book had the potential to be so much more than it was.
As you all know, I'm an editor. I love a book that is crisp, clean and polished. Druid Dreams was none of that. It was riddled with spelling and grammar errors. The tense, the tone, the perspective all kept changing and struggled with consistency. Plot points changed to suit the story, big, suspenseful moments turned out to not be all that important and the story bounced around so much it was a real struggle to keep up. I actually had to take character notes in order to remember everyone. It was quite a kerfuffle for my head.
Don't get me wrong. This story has potential. Sloane King has power, attitude and a fiery determination, all fantastic qualities in a FMC. The multiple view points also hold so much potential, showing us crucial scenes from different perspectives so you're not left wondering what you're missing. Unfortunately they just were not used well. Just when some scenes were really heating up, the book cuts away to a much less interesting character with no insight and nothing going on. It left me frustrated and struggling to power through the book.
I don't want this book to suffer. I really think this author and her work could be brilliant with her uniqueness. But books and brilliance cannot be rushed. Every sentence needs to carefully molded and elegantly crafted. This is a valiant first effort from a first time author, and I commend her work. I want to love this series, and I will continue reading it because of what it could potentially become. I just hope it does become better over time so my love is well deserved. -
Cliffhanger ending.

Note: I received this book from the author and I voluntarily give this review, it is my honest opinion.
This book was savage and I loved it! Druid Dreams was pretty much everything I could have asked for in a paranormal reverse harem, it was dark, action-packed, funny (in a good way), full of supernaturals and hot fated mates, with a female coming into power and mystery that surrounds them all.
Sloane is the badass female character that takes charge and doesn't accept bullshit. She is confident, smart, caring, stubborn, is a fighter, a little bit crazy and is the biggest badest supernatural to ever exist. She is close to her parents, runs several businesses for her family but she is a little closed off due to her past. I love her and her sense of humor, Sloane was a very easy character for me to like, especially with the sassy relationship she has with her best friend Jack. Jack and Sloane are a perfect pairing, I love their relationship and the fact they are so close and open with each other and I am so glad that when the guys came Jack's part in the story didn't get diminished, he still has a role in the story.
The story is told from multiple povs, Sloane has her parts but so do her mates. We get to hear from each of the guys and I love that, I get to know the guys better that way and get a better feeling of a story with their perspectives. The mating mythology is different in this story, in this the mating call doesn't mean you have to answer or even that you will it just draws you closer to that person, it's then up to them to make stronger connections. These guys have serious issues and they have to work at a relationship with Sloane just as much as she has to learn to let them in. Out of all the guys Novack is my favorite, he knows what he wants and puts in a little more effort without the resistance the other guys have. He is also the most communitive and playful as well, he lightens things for Sloane and gives her a peaceful acceptance the others seem reluctant on. As for the rest of the guys I liked them and can't wait to see these relationships develop.
I laughed my way through this entire book and in my opinion that is an excellent thing. It wasn't goofy but it was funny and made me smile and laugh out loud. I finished this book in one day, I couldn't put it down, I was fully developed in the story and I didn't want it to end. I have so many questions though, her mother, the guys family, the big bad who is starting shit and few other things are at the top of my list fo answeres. Adele has a hit on her hands with the Druid Dreams and I can't wait for the rest of the series to be published, I am counting down the days until I will be able to read Vampire Visions, the next book in the Chronicles of Sloane King. -
So the reason that I started reading this series is because the author has a new book that's coming out and there is a crossover of this series to that series. Holy cow that's a mouthful. Anyway I was told that you can read the new book without having to read this series but I cannot stand that. If there's a crossover then I want to understand who's Crossing over. Does that make sense? Anyway so I began obviously with druid and there are pieces of it missing. Like how did they reunite? All they talk about is when they found each other and then all of a sudden it skips to how he disappeared 2 years later but they didn't find each other again until when? 3 years after? See what I mean? I don't understand it cuz I can't explain it when I don't see where it's all heading. And that probably made no sense right there but I just don't care. Also this book wasn't just about the druid. It was about all the mates. And if anything it concentrates more on Vaughn who is the Fae and not the druid. So I am not going to read this series. There's too much missing. There was too much taken from underworld meats a shade of vampire. It was just too much. And not enough correct info or better yet info about the actual story behind the Druid in the main character. That's disappointing. But I'm not going to finish this series.

DNF @ 94%
This might be an unpopular opinion, and I can admit it is quite odd to stop at 94%. The book is practically over so it makes little sense to have come this far just to stop, but if you can bare with me I'll explain why.
The book started really solid for me, I liked that Sloane was powerful and had a strong personality. I thought it was interesting and different that everyone in the harem seemed ready to jump right in when in most series it takes a few books before everyone is on board.
However things started to come apart at the seams when the intrigue/main hurdle was introduced. To be honest I didn't even realise we were there, I thought it was a side line plot. I didn't feel like it was given a proper build up, it wasn't really mentioned previously nor how tenuous the situation was or the dire consequences it could have. So to me the action/suspense/adventure side of it fell flat.
I really started to lose interest in the aftermath of the "big battle", when we spent a whole chapter going through the inner monologue of each of the men in the harem. They were all thinking along the same lines, there was nothing different or intriguing about each monologue, they didn't provide any new information on the character's background or personal struggles. Never mind that it was repetitive, it actually put me off because they were all idolising Sloane and going on about how she was exactly what they needed and how perfect she was and how they couldn't wait to finalise the mating bond... when at this point they had known her for... 2-3 days? It was a bit much for me..
BUT the reason I stopped at 94% was because it made so uncomfortable that I actually felt a bit sick. So Sloane is mad at one of the guys and feels betrayed by him, she very clearly says she needs time to think things through and assimilate what has happened, but the guy decides he doesn't want to wait so he enlists the others to manipulate her into doing what he wants. It felt like a bigger betrayal and made dislike all of them. And what really bothered me was that their behaviour wasn't written as problematic and toxic, it was present more like a clever way of dealing with her... and Sloane was fine with it, she gives in and actually ends up apologising ?
So since I felt the intrigue was lacking, I wasn't really into the insta-love situation that was happening, and the horrendous way they dealt with Sloane needing time I thought I would be better off stoping then and there. -
Seriously Great Debut
This book was great and had many of my favorite things.
*Overpowered, bada@@ main female character - Check
*Fated mates -Check
*Great side characters - Check
*Balance of action, steamy and getting to know the characters scenes - Check
*Variety of supernatural characters - Check
*Banter - Check
The only reasons this wasn't a 5 star read for me is that many of the character descriptions weren't given or were given piecemeal, there were some discussions where I was confused about what they were talking about and though a cliffhanger was expected that was a particularly nasty one. If partial stars were allowed this would absolutely be a 4.5 star read for me.
I highly recommend this book though I would advise to wait until book 2 is out. -
I was given this book by NetGalley for free for my honest review.
Let’s jump in! The blurb intrigued me. I was in the mood for supernatural but unsure where to go… a bit of a slump you could say. Now that I’ve finished this story I have to say the blurb doesn’t do this story justice! It was everything I was looking for and MORE!
I love reading about different types of supernaturals and this one has IT ALL. Sloane is a BadA! I want to be her when I grow up! I love the idea of mates and it pulling you together, but not making you fall in love. Each of her mates are so unique and I love that. I’m sure there are reasons that will be explained in later books.
There are ALOT of players in the book. I’m not going to lie I struggled for the first 6-7 chapters to try and keep everyone straight. Finally I just had to open notes on my phone and make a list of the characters, their species, and anything else notable about their character/powers. I did have to refer back to that often throughout the story.
I’m, also, intrigued by the world the author has built. I want to know so much more, but am thankful they didn’t bog down the first book with too much. I’ve read another series that I loved that touched on all the different types of supernaturals and gaining characteristics. It’s called Guild Hunter by Nalini Singh. If you liked that series I definitely think you will enjoy this one!
I honestly couldn’t put this book down and I have every intention of reading book 2 SOON. This one ends on a cliffhanger so there is no way I can wait very long before I dive in! You have be warned!
Overall I give this 4.5 stars! -
I love love love this book. So at first I was like what is going on and it was just the prologue. So naturally I am like okay, you got me lets do this. Oh my word, I just fell in love with Sloane. This chick is AH-MAZ-ING!! I have a girl crush and I am not afraid to say it. Sloane is a kick butt and take no prisoners kind of girl. When you are part of her family, you better believe she is your ride or die girl. So when she meets Vaughn, the crazy pull starts to happen. Wait, what pull? Hehe hehe, Anyways, Sloane invites Vaughn and his friends over not realizing what is about to happen. They all get the pull. Hmm now this gets interesting. Oh and lets throw in some magic and kick butt scenes. Oh man the smexy times with the guys is freaking on hell fire. There are funny moments too. This book is a perfect combination of several elements and delivers a bang. I cannot wait for the next book to come out...

I received a free copy of this book from the author.
This is a Reverse Harem Urban Fantasy. There's a lot of players in this story so you will have to pay attention and get to know the characters. Druid Dreams is the first in The Chronicles of Sloane King series as well.
I throughly enjoyed this book. I laughed quite a bit with these characters. The vampire and the demon were quite often the funniest to me. There's something strange going on in the supernatural community. It's up to Sloane and her mates to put a stop to it all.
Though in doing so brings all kinds of trouble and you never know where the next hit'll be coming from. It would have to be exhausting to watch all your sides all the time not knowing where the enemy would be lurking.
Connections or not Sloane and company have a lot of work to do ahead of them. I look forward to reading the rest of the series. -
Druid Dreams was one of the best introductions to a series I have read in long time. In some way it was a dream! Sloane King is the effing queen of snark and deadly badassery. She is a new breed of a female main character. I thoroughly enjoyed her way of thinking, backstory, and levels of crazy she exudes. Wait till you read about her family, that is all I will say because…. YOU NEED TO READ THIS BOOK! This book has everything: vampires, druids, warlocks, shifters, demons, hellhounds… there’s something for everyone. Personally, I may have slightly fallen in love with Novak!
Druid Dreams is hilarious, sexy, and honestly a blast to read. It’s extremely refreshing to read about a heroine that is not a damsel in distress, but her own force to be reckoned with. Her mates are fantastic and each of them compliment her in the best ways. I love the different POVs, it builds a greater connection to the characters as well as helping us understand how they all need one another even when they didn’t expect it. This is a great introduction to a series that will be heart-stopping, fierce, sassy, and lovable. I look forward to the next book and reading more of Sloane and her mates’ adventures!! Plus the hellhounds, guys the hellhounds are epic! -
Strong female character, non-stop story
I couldn't decide between 3 and 4 stars but I went with 4 as the book is really well written. My own dilemma is that so much information was thrown at me during the book that I struggled to keep up. It's probably just me, but I can't keep track of everything if its thrown at me too fast and not drip fed.
All the guys are introduced at pretty much the same time, and at first I had to keep going back to remind myself what species everyone was.
This book is non stop from beginning to end, there are no slow bits at all, lots of action. There is also a lot of information about all the different worlds and what is going on with each character, you get to know them all.
Sloane is a hybrid and has had all the training needed to look after herself, she is the definite leader of the group and doesn't need any of the guys to help protect her. She knows what she wants and she goes after it, I loved her witty comebacks. He best friend Jack is also a great character for her to bounce off.
All the guys are already friends and knew they had a mate but didn't know they'd be sharing the same one.
Book 2 should be interesting after the little cliffhanger. -
Holy 5 stars!
This book was so great, and I didn’t know it was possible to be this in love with a fictional character but alas, I am! Sloane is such a badass woman and there is no way to NOT be completely obsessed with her. She’s strong, deadly, loyal, caring, rich, beautiful...not to mention she’s a hybrid. The only of her kind! She’s the complete package!! I loved every single thing she did in this book!
I loved the guys, I was a bit nervous because with so many men being in a harem things can get confusing. I don’t usually enjoy reading more than 3-4 men in a harem but I was pleasantly surprised that it was relatively easy to discern the difference between all of them and keep up with them and the story at the same time! I absolutely adore each and every one of them and after that cliffy I can’t wait to see what else is in story for them!
5 stars! -
*Spoiler Alert*
Sloane (FMC) is a complex character. A hybrid Mage, Demon, Shifter and Vampire which makes her strong, confident and kick***. She also has the gift of sight which not only helps in here everyday life but it helps her see her mates and if anything happens to the. All six of them - Vaughn, Novak, Palmer, Briggs, Stone and York (who's missing at the mo). One lucky lady, lol. Oh boy are there some steamy scenarios with these guys. Phew..............so hot! Life starts to get complicated for her and her guys but she has plenty of help as well as them. 3 hellhounds (a gift from her granddad) and her friend Jack (horse shifter). Omg i absolutely love Jack hes a riot and had me cracking up with the banter between him & Sloane. Love this first book so much and i cant wait for book 2 -
Pleased!
So I think this is the first time I've read anything by this author and I'm pleased with the her writing style and skills. There's nothing I like better than a author who can write a story about a serious badass heroine, that's a bit crazy and a little psycho but has the nerve and boldness to show her vulnerable side and her big heart!! I'm also loving our alpha males heroes especially Novak... It good y'all seriously..
So the way this story is being told so far I know our author is going to take me on a rollercoaster ride of various emotions and adventures..
Buckle up and enjoy the ride.. Off to book 2! Let's Go!
Overall Rating:
4* ~ A Good Read -
I liked this book but I definitely did not love it. The characters fell a little flat for me. you didn't get a full description of the men so it was confusing when they started talking about a characteristic of one of the guys and I was like who they talking about. I liked the story and the idea for the book but the lack of character description kind of killed it for me. I haven't decided if I am going to continue on with the series yet just because I am still iffy about it. There wasn't any spice until you were 50% into the book.
-
Totally loved this book. The MFC Sloane is a strong character and with her men too makes this a wicked read. The incredible chemistry between them and the steamy action will pull you in and not let you go and will book you in from the beginning. Loved the multiple POVs in this book, as I like to read what they all think in a story with many characters. I really enjoyed this book from start to finish and cant wait for the next book
-
I got to know this series thanks to RARE2022 Edinburgh where I met a new friend who introduced me to it, and then the author herself. I'm so glad I started it. I love Sloane King. She's strong, fierce, independent and how much she's worth... and let's not forget how powerful she is. But because of this, evil forces are working against her. When she meets a bunch of men, she finds out they are her mates and one of them is missing—the same one who broke her heart years ago. However, she needs him so now she has to save him.
I read this book all in one sitting, and I'm so ready to start on book 2. -
Fairly certain I’m in love with Novak currently. How could I not be? I’m interested to see if that stays strong as I read through the series though 🤔
This book has a whole heap of everything in it, all tangled up in a bunch of secrets and plots. 1 battle is won, for another to surface. I feel like Sloane is going to have a lonnnnng way to go before she catches a break 😬 Let’s just hope our faves are safe in that time.
On to book 2 I go 🙌🏼 -
Wow! Druid Dreams is packed with everything I love about an Urban Fantasy/Paranormal RH novel. It is overflowing with sexy, badass characters and a storyline that will suck you in and keep you guessing. Sloane King is the ultimate heroine and such a strong, interesting character. I love all the Male leads, as well, and can't wait to read more about all of them in Book #2. M.F. Adele is a new to me author, but I find I'm kicking myself because I hadn't discovered her books before now. If you love entertaining, full bodied, action-packed, funny books that also happen to be Reverse Harem and Fantasy, then this book will be your jam! 5 Fantastic Stars!
-
Druid dreams had me engrossed from the very beginning. Sloane is a confident and strong mc who doesn't take anyone's bull. She meets York in the very beginning, but then it skips ahead a few years. From there we meet Jack, her bodyguard and best friend, Vaughn, Briggs, Novak, Stone and Palmer. All are different supes who will complete her in various ways. The book is well written and ends in a cliffhanger that left me wanting more.
-
This book has made me want the next one right away! Sloane King is such a badass character who takes no crap from anybody! She has her biggest flaw being her anger and not being able to calm down unless the right person can get her back in the calm mindset. Starting on her mates, can I lick Palmer, Stone and Novak? Maybe York, Vaughn and Briggs too... Plus I love the hellhounds! Helios is such a little terror, it's so entertaining! I'm excited for the next one and can't wait to dive into the next adventure with Sloane and her men!
-
This book was excellent. First time I’ve read this author and she didn’t disappoint. I love all the mystery and suspense along with Slone meeting her mates. I’m excited to read the next book. This one finished on a massive cliffhanger.
