A single lapse in judgment as a teenager, and Ashley Carter's life was never the same. Now a single mom barely scraping by on the meager tips from her job at The Apple Inn Cafe, she's desperate to see some kind of light at the end of the tunnel. Even if it turns out to be a train.
So when an old friend comes rolling back into town and offers her not only a place to stay but a brand new start far away from the disapproving stares and whispers of her hometown, she jumps at the chance to give her children the life they deserve. It all seems too good to be true — even if the offer comes with a list of rules and punishments that make her feel like a naughty little girl.
And maybe it is. Maybe after everything she's done, she doesn't deserve anything more than just barely surviving.
Or maybe her new Daddy can finally free her from the weight of her past, and show her how beautiful a future with him could be...

10 yrs later
10 years is a long time not to see someone who meant something to you.
After everyone associated with the drug and human trafficking were arrested.
Trask and Terri wanted to talk with Dusty about that fateful night.
Took a while for the investigator to find him but after he did, but he drove back to Three Rivers that night.
The first morning coffee turned sour after Terri was having a melt down at work and he just added to it.
Everything became clear after Trask and Terri explained what had happened 10 yrs ago with the fire and Trask being blamed for everything.
Dusty eventually got caught up with Terri, found out she had 3 kids and definitely needed somebody to reset her and get her back on the right path and unfortunately his Daddy senses decided he was the one to do it.
Terri had a lot to learn about being a good and loving parent and doing what is right and by not drinking.
This is a very good story that I loved reading. (it brought back a lot of feelings for me and what I went through years ago)

The two characters in this story, Dusty and Ashley, were mentioned in Ms. Jamison's other book,"Back Woods Daddy". And while this is a stand alone story, there are details of their past in the Back Woods Daddy story. Years have passed and both Dusty and Ashley thought they were past everything that happened in the town they formerly lived in but nope, with a single phone call, Dusty knows he has to go back home! Ashley has had a very hard life since that night all those years ago and was struggling trying to raise her kids. I loved watching these two come back together and I enjoyed watching Dusty take charge of her and her kids. The romance between them was sort of a slow burn as she doesn't trust men. My heart ached for both of them and I was rooting for their happy ending. Loved the story and was totally invested in it!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I was engrossed from the start.
Dusty and Ashley were players in the previous book, but this can be read as a standalone.
Dusty left Three Rivers over a decade ago. Running from his past he breaks all contact and hides himself away. Until one day he's tracked down by a PI.
He drives home through the night, not sure what he will find. There are surprises round every corner.
The first person he runs into is Ashley, who doesn't recognise him at first.
Old hidden feelings soon rise for both of them. But Ashley is in a bad way. Her self destructive behaviour is pulling her life apart.
Then along comes Dusty offering her a chance to start anew.
I loved this book and the characters, a great story with plenty of detail.
I definitely recommend this book.

Self sabotage, 3.5 stars
Ashley has had a hard life. She stayed in Three Rivers and has endured the shame of her past for years. She can't take care of herself or her kids. Along comes Dusty to save the day. He ran after things fell apart and has a new life and new last name. Ashley has never dealt with the trauma of her past and although Dusty helps her get on her feet he never really helps her with that trauma or guilt.
Dusty is a Daddy Dom and Ashley submits but it feels more like lust than love. She really needs to consider her actions on a deeper level and get over her past. The story is cute but feels superficial. It's also a little unbelievable that he has all the money to spend on furniture, clothes, etc and she saves up so much in just three weeks. -
4 1/2 stars
The author did an amazing job of taking an atypical heroine and redeeming her. This story is a spin off of the Three Rivers series as well as part of the Stateside Doms series. Dusty and Ashley have a history and years later when Dusty returns to town he realizes Ashley is still struggling. As a DD he offers her a chance, a place to recover, with rules and a way to improve herself without the weight of their hometown dragging her down. I loved that this heroine wasn't typical, she made mistakes, she tried and failed and tried again. Great HEA.

This is only my second Ryanna Jamison book, but she is fast becoming one of my favourite ageplay authors. She's taken one of my most often read genres and given it her own unique twist.
Once again these characters are so well fleshed out and easy to fall in love with. Throughout the book my heart broke for Ashley. And I was really happy when Dusty came back into her life.
As always characters can be stubborn and it's not an easy road that these two take, but it's so worth it in the end. Add to the fact that I'm a sucker for a second chance romance and I was hooked from beginning to end. -
What a great book. A story of second chances at life and love.
A tragedy many years ago tear Ashley and Dusty apart before they have a chance to get together. Years later they reunite. Will Dusty's love and support help Ashley get over the past and into a better life or will her self destructive ways destroy their forever? Read Her Old Fashioned Oregon Daddy to find out. Such a great read.

I love when we get to catch up on previous characters.
This is Dusty and Ashley's story. We first hear about them in Back Woods Daddy.
Ashley has really struggled her whole adult life. 3 kids, a drinking problem and a dead end job....it's not looking great for her.
Dusty has become the knight in shining armor. He sees the potential in Ashley, and her kids, and he wants to be the one to finally help her.
I loved that this story was about personal growth. There was mending of relationships, there was dreams being made. I truly enjoyed this beautiful story. -
This was a wonderful story. It ties in the Three Rivers series. Dusty and Ashley experienced an event that changed the course of their lives. Dusty saved her but she makes a wrong decision. Dusty left town while Ashley made one bad choice after another. Dusty comes back and is surprised by how much she has changed. He offers her a chance to leave their hometown so something better. They have a deep connection. Will they be able make things work to find happiness together?

We were doing so well. I was loving the characters. I was loving the story line. I was loving the way it was moving. Then the ending happened.
-
That was the most rushed ending to a book I have ever seen in my whole life. It left me so upset that that was the end, because there was nothing to enjoy.
-
I wish they had flushed the characters out better, but even that I could handle. It’s that ending that just was the icing on the cake (ha, get it. Cause she bakes.). -
Submission
So many think that submitting is being weak. Ashley let her self sabotaging ways convince her of this. Through a few spankings, twist, turns and surprisingly wise words, she learns the error of her ways.
Overall I recommend the book. It's a good read. I did find that some of the story just didn't seem to fit, though that be because it links to a different series. -
Wow
This story was absolutely amazing and brought me to tears in some scenes
The characters were absolutely perfect for each other and the story had me hooked from start to finish
Well done to the author -
Didn't like the h that much and kinda ruined the story for me. Also, she is how old? He is like 30? How can he have so much money? Poor kids... I really didn't like Ashley. Dusty was ok I guess.

Really enjoyed this one. Plenty of action and some great character growth, that really makes you care about the characters. -
Ashley has made mistakes and has the children to prove it. When she meets Dusty again, Dusty feels compelled to help Ashley change her ways. Ashley has always had feelings for Dusty and she looks forward to living with him with her family. She doesn't expect to be disciplined. There is a HEA.
